The first 3 slides determine whether people will bounce or read on - make them count.

  • Think deeply about your hook
  • Use the person's name and company logo in the title
  • Prioritize the information that matters most to your audience
  • Be very short and to the point

Our data shows that 32% of people bounce from your deck in the first 15 seconds. But more importantly 80% of readers who cross the 3rd slide threshold will read the deck in full.

Imagine you were giving a speech and after 3 minutes a 3rd of the audience just stood up and left the hall. That would feel horrible, wouldn’t it? So why do this to your decks?

What you can do is write a relevant, personalized, and intriguing hook, and place it on slides 1-3 of your deck.

  • Make the audience understand that you’re writing FOR THEM , about THEIR NEEDS, but also that you have something amazing up your sleeve.
  • A little known trick to get attention is to tell them how long reading your deck will take. Time is their currency, you wouldn’t ask a client for “money” without tellig them how much, would you?
  • You should also have a strong visual hook . Use a video, animate d, or interactive cover slide. Make it so they can’t look away.

Online MBA in Digital Marking Program ranked third-best nationwide by TechGuide

(May 21, 2024) - Following an impressive semester of institutional and student awards, Clayton State University’s College of Business continues to showcase academic excellence.

In May 2024, the College of Business learned that its MBA in Digital Marketing Program officially ranked #3 overall in TechGuide’s official 2024 Program Rankings .

An MBA in Digital Marketing, as described by TechGuide, is a “two-five-year post-undergrad program that educates aspiring marketers on blending business-focused skills and innovative ideas surrounding modern marketing strategies,” allowing students to pursue careers in Brand Management, Business Development Management, and more.

According to TechGuide.org Head of Marketing Chris Lenihan, Clayton State’s ranking was determined following the investigation on “a variety of factors, including tuition costs, student-to-faculty ratios, admission and graduation rates, and alumni success.”

“These rankings are based on meticulous analysis, utilizing data from reputable sources such as the National Center for Education Statistics, particularly the Integrated Postsecondary Data System (IPEDS) and the College Navigator,” Lenihan said. “This achievement underscores their dedication to providing exceptional education that is both rigorous and accessible to aspiring professionals.” 

Additionally, Lenihan stated that Clayton State University’s MBA in Digital Marketing Program further stood out “not only for its academic quality but also for its affordability,” as it also was ranked the #13 most affordable program by the site, as well. 

Dr. Jacob Chacko, dean of the College of Business, was ecstatic upon discovering the college’s latest award.

“We are thrilled that Clayton State University’s MBA in Digital Marketing program has been ranked #3 in TechGuide’s 2024 rankings,” Chacko said. “This recognition is a testament to the program’s commitment to providing a high-quality and relevant curriculum that prepares students for success in the ever-evolving digital marketing landscape. Being one of our newest concentrations, achieving this #3 ranking further underscores the currency and applicability of the program’s offerings.”

Like Chacko, others in the College of Business were also thrilled at the news.

“This recognition is a testament to our commitment to providing cutting-edge education and empowering our students with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the ever-evolving digital marketing landscape,” said Dr. Vinod Vincent, associate professor of Management & Graduate Programs Director. “Our dedicated faculty, innovative curriculum, and strong industry partnerships are the pillars of our program’s success, and we will continue to strive for excellence in all that we do.”

"We are truly honored,” said Dr. Joie Hain, associate professor of Marketing. “The degree is designed to teach our students the overarching theories and strategies of digital marketing as well as hands on applications through education-based industry replication simulations, industry certifications and community engagement projects. The ultimate goal is for our students to enter or continue in industry with the highest levels of success. This is achieved through online asynchronous classes, allowing us to work with students, not just locally, but across the country and internationally."
