The rules & regulations as contained in the prospectus have been framed/approved by the Government of Himachal Pradesh, keeping in view the guidelines of the Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India for admission to MBBS/BDS courses. The said qualified candidates are required to apply online only by using the website of the University within a stipulated period. This centralized Online counselling shall be conducted for 85% of State Quota Seats, which includes the reserved seats of Children of J& K Migrants, Children of Tibetan Refugees, NRI and Economically Weaker Sections(EWS) in Government Medical/Dental Colleges and the seats in respect of Private Un-aided Medical/ Dental Colleges, therefore said seats (100%) shall also be filled up as per the distribution of seats given in the prospectus through this counselling.

BDS/MBBS Counselling 2023: Atal Medical & Research University Introduces major Changes in Prospectus

Aspiring medical students across India have reason to rejoice as Atal Medical and Research University (AMRU) in Himachal Pradesh has announced its BDS admission counselling schedule for the year 2023. With opportunities available under both State and Management quotas, the university welcomes applications from candidates from any state. This article will provide an overview of the admission process, important dates, and required documents for BDS aspirants.

Expanded Eligibility Criteria: In a significant development, AMRU has made a noteworthy change in the eligibility criteria for Himachali candidates seeking admission to BDS or MBBS courses. Previously, students were required to pass at least two exams from schools situated in Himachal Pradesh to be eligible for Himachali seats. However, the university has now removed this condition, allowing any bonafide Himachali candidate to apply for state quota seats. This change opens up opportunities for more deserving students, regardless of their school affiliation.

Important Dates: The BDS admission counselling process for 2023 includes several key dates that candidates need to be aware of. The application window for the 1st round of admissions is open from July 20th to July 25th, 2023 . Following this, the provisional combined and category-wise merit list will be displayed on July 27th, 2023 . The allocation of provisional seats for the 1st round will take place on August 3rd, 2023 , and the final seat allocation for the 1st round will be completed by August 5th, 2023 . IIHMR University Achieves Stellar 100% Summer Internship

National, 22 nd May 2024 :   IIHMR University, a leading health management research university in India, has effectively accomplished an excellent 100% summer internship placement season for the batch 2023-25. The internships were carried out for the flagship two-year programs- MBA (Hospital and Health Management), MBA (Pharmaceutical Management), and MBA (Development Management).

The summer internship is an 8-week immersive training starting from May 2024 to June 2024. The highest pay recorded was Rs.25000 per month. All the 364 students who participated in the internship process were placed at an average stipend of Rs.10525 per month. A total of 227 students from MBA (Hospital and Health Management), 126 students from MBA (Pharmaceutical Management), and 11 students from MBA (Development Management) were offered internships in multifaceted roles across various sectors.  The prime recruiting sectors highlighted by the placement department were Hospitals, Public Health Organizations, Consultancies, FMCGs, NGOs, Diagnostics, Health ITs, Medical Devices, and Pharmaceuticals. 

Stating on the resounding success, Dr. PR Sodani, President, IIHMR University shared, “The successful summer internship season is a testament to our commitment to present our students with the best opportunities in both domestic and international markets. We saw 149 renowned organizations from multiple sectors offering internships to our 364 very determined students, resulting in 100% internship placements. Such offers will equip students with proficiency in leadership and strategic management abilities along with cultivating excellent soft skills. I congratulate and wish the students all the best for their professional endeavors.”

Remarkably, a total of 149 prestigious companies approached IIHMR University seeking to offer summer internships highlighting the institute’s conducive academic environment. Among these esteemed companies were renowned names such as AIIMS, Apollo Hospitals, Ernst & Young, Dabur, Fortis Hospital, Cipla, CK Birla Group of Hospitals, NITI Ayog, Tata Steel Foundation, Jhpiego, Narayana Health, etc.  The university also witnessed an international internship offer from Dubai-based AL- Noor Veterinary Medicines Trading LLC.

India's global travel & tourism index rank up at 39th: wef index.

India has risen to 39th place in the World Economic Forum's (WEF) Travel & Tourism Development Index (TTDI) 2024, with global tourism activities returning to pre-pandemic levels. The United States topped the list, followed by Spain, Japan, France, and Australia. India ranked highest in South Asia and among lower-middle-income economies, significantly improving from its 54th position in 2021 despite changes in the index parameters. The index, developed with the University of Surrey, highlights India's strong price competitiveness (18th) and robust infrastructure in Air Transport (26th) and Ground and Port (25th). Additionally, India's substantial Natural (6th), Cultural (9th), and non-Leisure (9th) Resources significantly drive travel, making it one of only three countries to score in the top 10 across all resource pillars.

Despite global inflationary trends affecting India’s price competitiveness and its air transport and tourist services infrastructure not yet fully recovering to 2019 levels, the country maintains a strong position in travel and tourism demand sustainability, particularly due to sustainable long stays among inbound visitors. High-income economies in Europe and Asia-Pacific continue to lead the TTDI, supported by conducive business environments, dynamic labour markets, and well-developed infrastructure. The WEF expects international tourist arrivals and the travel and tourism sector’s contribution to global GDP to return to pre-pandemic levels this year, driven by lifted travel restrictions and pent-up demand.
