26 People Share The Most Deeply Terrifying Experience Of Their Entire Life

a frightening experience essay

1. A Bad Feeling

I was playing with my friend at a playground near my house. It was around dusk and we had been there for about an hour when we both stopped and immediately sprinted back to my house without saying a word to each other. Turns out we had both had the same dark, terrible feeling in our gut and knew we had to get out of there.

The next morning we went back and found a cat head on the playground, just the skull, and fur, nothing else, no brain or eyes or anything. We think it might have been a mountain lion as they are prevalent in our area.

It’s hard to explain that awful gut feeling, but I’ve never been so scared without being in any noticeable danger in my life.

2. Barbie And Baby

This is pretty silly actually. When I was a kid, I had a Barbie that came with a little baby. This baby unsettled me for some reason, something about its face was spooky. One day, I stopped playing and started to walk out of my bedroom, but something compelled me to go back to turn the baby’s face away from me first. I went to the bathroom, came back, and the baby’s face had somehow turned back to its original position, facing me. Understandably, I had an absolute fit. I cried to my mom and she told me that she had gone in my room and moved the doll, but later admitted that she lied to stop my hysterics. We hid the blasted thing, but it would reemerge every couple of years. I think it’s funny now, but I still wonder.

3. “Following The Pony”

7-8 years old me visited my grandparents in the countryside. According to my grandmother, she woke up in the middle of the night to her cows’ abnormal mooing, went outside to check and saw me walking into the fish pond. I did not wake up upon entering the water, she barely pulled me out of the water before I fell into the deep part of the pond. I was shaking uncontrollably, she had to carry me inside, it took half an hour to wake me up. When asked what happened, apparently half-conscious me answered: “I was following the pony.”

4. A Remnant In The Office Building

When I was in high school, to earn extra money, I went and cleaned my dad’s boss’ office building on the weekends. Most of the time it was just me in there. Occasionally, someone would be in there working. It was never full though. Usually, if anyone was there, it was this one dude. I still don’t know what he did there. But, his office was WAY in the back of the building, almost in what I would call a closet. This was a construction company, and they had this big office with a giant table in it where they could spread out blueprints and go over them together. This guy’s office was in a closet behind this office. I worked there for years, and as I did, I kinda got to know this guy. I eventually bought myself a jeep wrangler when I turned 16, and he was a jeep guy himself, so we would always BS about jeep stuff. Honestly a really cool dude. The one thing that always stuck out to me about this guy, is he had this “tick”… Nothing weird, but noticeable. When he was standing and talking to you, he always stood with his left side facing you, with his left hand in his pocket and he would jingle his change in his pocket…

Well, the guy eventually died in the office one day. Not while I was there, during the work week. I remember my dad telling me about it and offering to let me go to the funeral, which I did.

A few weeks later, I’m in there cleaning. I’m not in the blueprint room, but in a room across the hall and I hear the front door open. They had a sensor on the door that made a loud “DING” noise when someone opened it. So, I heard “DING!” and could hear footsteps walking in. So, I’m sitting at this desk, dusting all this person’s nick-nacks and I hear that guy’s voice say “Hey, Gibby, how’s the jeep runnin?”. I’m kinda shocked and just staring at this person in the doorway, left side facing me, and jingling change in his pocket. I’m pretty much frozen in the chair just staring at him, and he kinda laughs a little. It seemed like he was about to walk away, and I kinda shuddered a second once everything registered in my brain. So, I blinked and when I looked back at the door, he was gone. I walked around the entire office and no one was there.

From that day on, anytime I went into his office, I said out loud “Hey, <name>. Wish you could see what I’ve done with the jeep” or something else like that. Always felt like he was in there still.

Dad has since retired from work, and I don’t get to go up to that office anymore. But, on the off chance I do, I like to walk in that office (it’s their gym now) and say hello.

5. Reflection In The Window

Working on a school report late at night in my ground-level bedroom. Glance up and stare at my reflection in the glass of the window. Realize it’s not my reflection. That someone is actually staring in at me, watching me from outside the house. Shudder. Still gives me chills.

6. Men In Ski Masks Stop At The Convenience Store

Back in 1984, the year I graduated high school, I took a job working the overnight shift at a convenience store in my hometown in rural Ohio. The town was/is a tiny place, less than 2,000 people, three stoplights (and, if you’re standing at any of them, you can always see the other two/lol), and the place that hired me had only begun staying open overnights a few weeks earlier. So, most nights, I would only see a handful of customers. Other nights, less.

About two months in, I was sitting behind the counter around three in the morning, reading a newspaper when a giant Cadillac came tearing into the parking lot and screeched to a halt. The driver slammed the car into park and, to my horror, all four doors popped open and out of each of them emerged men in ski masks. In an instant, they had whipped open the door of the store and entered. Three of the four fanned out and began to sweep through the store, the fourth staying by the counter.

Get this, nobody spoke. They moved in silence. After just a couple of seconds, one of the men pointed to the dummy security camera hanging from the ceiling in the middle of the store (and, when I say “dummy,” I mean DUMMY. It was fluorescent orange with six, count ’em, SIX lenses pointing in all directions. It could not have possibly looked faker), shook his head, and then all four of them shot back out the front door, dove back into the Cadillac, and tore out of the parking lot. How I didn’t absolutely shit my pants, I will never know.

So, I stand behind the counter for a couple of minutes, shaking while feeling tears of terror and relief running down my cheeks and then walk outside. Standing in the fresh air, with the town back to being so quiet I could hear the stoplight up the street clicking through its cycle, I seriously began to wonder if I’d hallucinated the entire thing. The juxtaposition of the explosion of activity and terror, immediately followed by a return to an almost dead quiet, finally gave me the giggles and I was soon doubled over laughing at the incongruity of the moment.

Finally, I stood up straight, stretched my arms and said out loud “Well, if you’re up there, thank you, God” and turned to walk back into the store. At that very moment, the same car came tearing back past the store, shot through the stoplight, and disappeared into the night, never to be seen again.

Mind you, all of this was in the service of earning $3.35 an hour/lol.

7. Grandpa Tries To Join In

I was about 16 and at this girl’s house for a hookup type thing. We start getting to 2nd base when she says “go away, grandpa!” Confused as hell, I ask her what she meant; she said her grandfather died in the room, in the bed we were doing shit on, and he “tried to join us.”

I noped the fuck outta horny grandpa’s house of horrors & never called her again.

8. Murder Party

I was at a party in high school. Nothing big, 3 girls, 4 guys, and our hosts step brother and step brothers girlfriend. Wasn’t really a “party” per se, we were just snacking and watching a movie.

Anyway, one moment the step brother gets up and walks to his room. Our host follows out of the room then comes back saying we need to leave.

Apparently, the step brother grabbed his gun and told our host that if we didn’t leave he was going to kill us all.

It was literally insane. He seemed like a regular dude, and I don’t think anyone detected anything wrong. It was scary to see a total 180 like that. Also, the fact that he was unstable and was armed.

9. Out past Curfew

One night, my buddies and I were going for a midnight walk around the roads by the house we were staying at. Since we were under 18, we could have gotten in trouble for being out past curfew, so we would hide behind trees or whatever when a car came by.

Well, my one friend said “Why are you guys hiding, no one is going to care or do anything!” Well, the next vehicle that passes, everyone hides behind something but him, to prove a point.

Shortly after that, the same vehicle, a red pickup truck, turns around up the road and heads back in our direction. This time, we all hid and noticed it was the same truck.

We figured they made a wrong turn or something, but nope. Every few minutes, the truck would pass by us as we hid (while we attempted to make it back to the house, about a half-mile walk), trying to find us. At one point, guys got out of their truck with flashlights and were searching around the woods/shrubs for us, but we were about 100 yards away from them.

Eventually, we got back to the house, but they still drove up and down the road looking a few more times. Whether they were trying to scare some random kids, or something worse, I’m not sure.

10. Blue Myst Road

There is a road near where I live that is famous for paranormal activity. It’s called Blue Myst Road , and its name is very accurate. At night, no matter the weather, there is what appears to be a thick blue fog moving along the ground. I’ve never actually seen anything personally, but we did hear muffled voices and what sounded like footsteps in the dense tree line right next to us. We tucked tail and took off.

11. Not The Pizza Delivery Guy

I live in an apartment with 6 of my girlfriends. One day, all of my roommates went to a concert except for me and one other. We went to pick them up, got home around 11 PM, and ordered pizza. About 20 mins after ordering I hear a knock at the door, and I assume it’s the pizza being delivered. Instead, it’s this random man I’ve never seen before, telling me that he watched us get out of the car and would like to come in to talk to us as we are all beautiful…. Keep in mind it is 11:30 at night on a SUNDAY. He started to angle his body closer to the door, so then my roommate’s boyfriend came to the door where he was visibly shocked, uncomfortable and started to fidget. After telling him to fuck off, we realized he followed us home from the concert.

Being a woman can suck sometimes.

12. “Why WOn’t You Go To Sleep?”

I was laying in bed trying to get my daughter to go to sleep and she was refusing to.

As I was getting more annoyed with her I asked: “Why won’t you go to sleep?” Her response was “Because those two people are watching us.” and pointed to the corner of the room where no one was stood (we were alone in the house).

Immediately picked her up and spent the night asleep downstairs.

13. Babysitting

I was babysitting this little kid, and we decided to go on a walk. We saw this creepy-looking abandoned house down the street. The windows were all smashed. The kid pointed up at the house and asked me, “Why is that man staring at us?” I said “What man?” He said, “Don’t you see him? He’s inside the house.” I just got really freaked out and said that we should go back home. We practically ran back to his house.

14. Psych Meds Create A Hell On Earth

Visual hallucinations brought on by the wrong combo of psych meds gave me by far the scariest and most unsettling experiences of my life. The unsettling part was losing my reading comprehension skills. I’d read a comment on the discussion board I was frequenting at the time and it could say something as benign as, “I had a lovely breakfast have a great day” and I’d read it as “AbortRetryImplode you’re a failure. You should die.” So I’d write this angry response ripping the person a new one and then I’d get these sometimes apologetic sometimes “wtf is wrong with you?” responses in my inbox and I’d be totally confused.

The scariest was looking in the mirror and realizing I looked evil. I wouldn’t say demonic…but the way I was smiling and my eyes. I looked so evil it was terrifying. Kind of like something else had control of my face and I was seeing me, but not me? I know it probably doesn’t make sense but it scared the shit out of me.

15. A Soft, Low Humming

Let me preface by saying I have only told this story to three or four people my entire life, and none of them believed me. I am aware I will sound crazy, but I swear to you this 100% happened to me when I was about 13 years old. Yes, I am sure I was not dreaming. No, we did not have a gas leak.

When I was about 13 years old, I was having trouble sleeping (it was probably 1 am or thereabouts). I was restless, tossing and turning, the whole bit. Well, I had almost given up and was just staring blankly at the wall next to my bedroom door, when the door begins to open, slowly.

Now, we had a cat at this time so the door not being properly closed and then pushed open by a feline friend would not have been outside of the norm, so at this point, I’m still calm. But then I take a look into the opening gap between the door and the frame.

Through the gap is a man in a black coat of some kind, with a white mask over his face, who is humming very soft and low. I immediately gasp (trying not to scream) and pull the covers over my face. My heart is racing and I’m listening for anything—any little movement. I don’t hear anything but I begin to hear that humming again and through my blanket make out a soft, amber light.

I decide this change may signal more immediate danger, so I summon all my courage and pull the covers down off my face— he’s gone. I look around the room and the man is no longer there. From outside, however, I see that same amber light. I walk, slowly, tensely over to the window and peer out.

Hanging in the air, at the same level as my second-floor bedroom window is a little orb of amber light which, although featureless makes a bounce-like motion that I (and I understand this sounds crazy) took to mean as it acknowledging me. It then moved through the air toward the tree line in back of our house and disappeared.

I still wonder what it is I saw.

16. The Uncle’s Friend

My husband and I moved away so he could finish his degree at a more reputable university. His uncle happens to live in the same town as the school. We would hang out with his uncle and grill out, watch movies and play his really nice instruments. Really nice guy overall and someone two broke college aged kids could lean on if needed in a town where we knew no one.

His uncle’s friend started coming to some of our little shin-digs. All was well with his uncle’s friend, except for a few flirtatious comments, which I just shrugged off. He was about 20 years older than me, I was a girl in my early 20’s, I thought maybe it was his personality.

I was working in property management and the friend told me he was looking for a new apartment. Seeing a business opportunity and a chance to help a family friend, I gave him my business card.

About a week later, his uncle’s friend comes into my office. I was happy to see him assuming he was looking for an apartment. Nope. He proceeds to hand me a three-page typed letter which is folded and tells me “This is probably the last time you will ever see me.” He turned around and left. No explanation, so I read the letter.

The letter basically declared his love for me and stated his intentions to ‘win me over’. It said something along the lines of him beating my husband in karate. Also, he went on about how the men in my husband’s family are basically damaged and it wouldn’t work between my husband and I. He said it was a warning. It was a deranged rambling from a man I encountered maybe four times in my life.

Startled at my desk, I told my manager who I was pretty close with so he was aware of the situation. That afternoon my husband and I went to the police station to put the letter ‘on file’. Luckily I’ve never encountered that guy again, but now I think twice about handing out my business cards.

17. Stalked By A Black Dog

I moved into a new place in a new country.

After a night at the pub, I got the feeling I was being followed. Turned around – huge black dog with red eyes glaring at me. I ran home, locked the doors.

Then I started getting nightmares about the thing hunting me down. And every time I was out at night, it was getting closer and closer…

I put it down to the stress of moving.

Well, until a friend of mine stayed the night to ease my mind. I found her awake at 3 am looking out the window, dog outside, she was pale as a sheet. She just whispered, “That’s a fucking hellhound.”

In the morning, she ran out of my house, came back a few hours later with this awful smelling powder, and hung it up in pouches around the room, with an extra pouch for me to carry.

Never seen the dog again. Never had a nightmare about it since.

18. A Plastic-Faced Doll

When my mom was a kid, she had this horrible stuffed clown with a plastic face. I searched the internet and found this image , which is pretty spot on.

Anyway, one day we (my brothers and I) brought it home from my grandparent’s house. Not sure why. We hated the thing. It was obviously creepy as all hell.

Once it was home, it would move from where we put it. You would leave it on the chair, leave the room, come back it would be on the bed.

We decided to take it and put it in a box and put weights on top of the box. We came back and it had moved the weights as the box and was sitting in the chair. This was in the basement so no one would have been able to get to it without going down the stairs, which is the way we exited and entered.

We then left the room again with it on the chair. Came back and it was outside the house, staring into the basement window. There is no way it could have got out the window (didn’t open) or past us on the stairs.

We then gave it a book and a pen and left the room. It wrote on the front of the book (it was a kids book about Houdini, I’ll never forget it) the name “Mike Stapher” in almost movie style scratchy scrawls writing.

Most horrifying thing I’ve ever encountered.

We told my parents and they destroyed it.

19. Beaten By A Murderer

Scary in the moment, scarier after.

Was hanging out in a park drinking with some friends and these random 3 guys come by and start chatting with us. Mainly me. (only guy)

I offer them my alcohol as I don’t want it. We chat more. They start walking away and I’m in mid conversation with a guy, so I walk with them a bit and the guy turns me to and says “What are you gonna do?” before I knew it, they had met up with other guys behind me and there’s 6 guys around me, punching and pushing. I get knocked in my face pretty good and go down. They continue kicking and walk away.

I get up furious and break an empty bottle and they start yelling things, while the girls realize what just happened and surround me and bring me to the closest guys house.

They come back with 20+ people, girls, guys, and we had already called them cops. Cops catch about 5, 2 of the main guys I was talking to. Turns out they had knives on them. Scary/lucky enough nothing worse happened to me except a black eye and a few cuts.

A year later one of the guys goes to prison for murder. Sent a chill down my spine that I almost got in a fight, rather than a beat down, with a murderer.

20. That Nightmare That Was Real

My cousin was staying at or house for a weekend. My sister was good friends with her and they were set to sleep in the basement together. Me, being the younger sister, desperately wanted to stay down there with them. I fell asleep and had the most terrifying and realistic nightmare of my life. They went into the bathroom and came out as monsters who told me I had to fall asleep or they were going to eat me. For YEARS I thought I had actually had that nightmare and it still scared me to think about. Last year my sister admitted to actually doing that and I found out it wasn’t a nightmare but they tortured me like that for real!

21. “It Used To Be”

This actually happened to my brother 2 weeks ago in the house we grew up in.

So, my brother still lives there with my grandma. Brothers room is in the basement. In the living room, there is a huge glass sliding door that opens onto our deck, with a large shared courtyard behind it. At about 2 am, my brother hears this door slide open. He is still up gaming or whatever. He yells, “HELLO?” and hears a man’s voice, say “hello” back, very calmly. Scared, he yells “WHO IS THIS” and the man calmly replies, “John”. “Well John, this isn’t your house so you better leave” and John replies, “well it used to be” as he walks towards the kitchen and opens the fridge ( my brother assumes from the noises he hears).

Scared, my brother stays downstairs and calls the police. It takes the police over 30 minutes to respond (if you can believe that!) and by the time they get there, there is no man in the house or any trace of it.

My Grandma has owned that house for 25 years.

22. Green Eyes, Watching

As a child my dad was a drunk. One night my dad an I alone camping in a yurt went 4-wheeling at midnight. He was wasted. It was a jacked up old Ford Ranger, being a pretty light truck, when my dad hit the edge of the cliff on our way back, it was teetering on edge. My dad told me to get out, I was maybe 5-6 years old. Truck was stuck so we walked back to camp, it was about 2 miles away. Halfway there my feet got tired so my dad put me on his shoulders, looking behind him. I stared into the green eyes of a giant mountain lion following us. The increase in stature scared him off, and I watched him book it up the mountain. Haunts me to this day.

23. Something In The Corner Of Your Eye

I worked in a private club at the top of a big hotel. I came in one day and our linens had just been delivered. And all of our linen bags reeked like gasoline. Everyone thought it was strange. It was kind of a slow night and I was working on the bar side. It has really long hallways. All night long I kept seeing flashes of a man out of the corner of my eye. When I was bringing dishes back to the kitchen it felt like someone was walking behind me. I thought I was just being paranoid, there were rumors of it being haunted and it wasn’t the first time I saw something weird. After we closed I was setting up the bar for the next days lunch and my coworker came over to talk to me. He mentioned that he kept seeing a man out of the corner of his eye and felt like someone was standing behind him most of the night. I hadn’t said anything to anyone about it until he brought it up. It freaked us both out so we worked together the rest of the night. Turns out that over the weekend the linen company we used had a truck flip and catch on fire and the driver got ejected and died. They brought us the bags and linens from his truck without having re-washed them first. We found out the next day why the linen bags smelled.

24. Nearly Killed By Mexican Cartels

My dad used to work at an Oxxo, when I was like 9. It’s a gas station in Mexico. He worked night shifts and the stores stayed open 24/7. Night time in Mexico is when it gets bad and when everybody goes inside and it is when all the cartels and Marines come out and if they run into each other there’s a shootout that’s for sure going to happen.

Well, one night at about 2 AM, three trucks pulled up and everybody got out, about 14 men in body armor, Gloves, boots, black cargo pants, leaving all of their doors open blasting narco corridos. It was the Zeta cartel. I remember being scared shit less and our dad told us to just stay quiet. I thought we were gonna take my brother since they would kidnap young guys and send them to work with them. And thought my dad was gonna have a gun pointed at him since he was the one behind the register.

Some of the men waited outside with their m-16s and about 6 walked in with no noticable weapons and bought a bunch of chips, bread, beer, drinks, sodas, candy. I remember expecting for them to walk out with all of the stuff without paying but they paid for it all and let my dad keep the change. My brother and I then helped them put the bags in their trucks for some reason, and when we did we set them on top of their grenades, all types of rifles and pistols. Then they just got back in and drove off. Oh and there was a guard that worked there at some point and my bro and I were cool with him, and sometimes we would chill outside and the guard would mess with the payphones that were against the stores wall and pretend to flirt with the operator lady. Well one day he did that while some cartel members were there and they thought he was calling the people above him to tell them that the cartel was there, so they snatched him up and we never heard of him again.

25. White Faces In The Snow

I’ve told this before and it always gets buried. We were driving in the mountains in Colorado with some friends on our way to a ski lodge in Telluride. On the way to our hotel we were driving up and down these winding roads deep deep in the mountains which seemed like forever. It was pitch black outside and around 3 AM and we had to at least be 45ish minutes from the nearest town, and it was cold, like see your own breath below 10 degrees freezing cold.

As we were driving along, my friends and I all see four figures walking on the road coming towards us. We all get weird feelings inside but I did especially, and the hair on my neck stood up. Something didn’t seem right. We were way too far away from a town and it was wayyy too cold for hitch hikers or hikers of any sort. We get closer and closer and as we got right next to these “people” we slow down and we realized that they had NO Faces!

Four people walking in the dead of the night wearing black hoods and cape like gowns and they literally had no faces. And by no faces I mean like no eyes, mouth, ears, just blank white pale faces. I’m familiar with ski masks and these were not ski masks. They had hoods on like something from Scream almost. My friends and I all freaked the fuck out speeding away, and my toughest manliest friend of us all was crying, mind you he was in his late 20s. It was the most afraid I’ve ever been and it still scares me thinking about and typing out. No idea what they were.

26. A Shriek In The Night

Coming back home from my deployment, I stayed at my parents house for a few weeks while my late grandmother, who was suffering from severe dementia stayed in the room adjacent from mine. it was around 2AM when I’m awoken by a blood curdling shriek that lasted for what felt like an eternity, but must’ve actually been about 30 seconds in just one breath. It turns out she was sleepwalking, tried to enter my room and slammed herself into the baby gate we had for my puppy. I honestly don’t know what was more terrifying, hearing that shriek suddenly in the dead of night, or flicking on the dim ceiling lights and seeing her stare at me, face was decrepit, mouth agape and her eyes wide as can be. It makes my blood run cold every time I think about it.

A frightening experience.

a frightening experience essay

  • If there was something you would have done differently during this situation, what would it have been?
  • Were you the one to blame for this experience or did you find yourself thrown in the middle of it?
  • How could you have avoided this frightening experience in the first place?

A Frightening Experience Last year I went to my grannies’ house because my parents were at work. I had to sleep there. The weather was terrible, raining with thunder storms. As my grandparents and I were eating dinner, a bolt of lightning hit a tree that was just under the kitchen window. The tree caught fire immediately. Since the kitchen curtain was flying outside because of the wind, it soon caught fire too and in a split of a second, flames were dancing all around the kitchen. We could not escape through the kitchen. My grandparents hugged me and protected me in the corner, praying that someone would notice the fire and come to rescue us. We were very frightened. My grandmother and I searched for the telephone but unfortunately we could not find it since it had been burnt. The neighbours saw the house burning and called the police and firemen. They came immediately. While firemen tried to stop the fire, the broom cupboard fell on my grandfather ‘s head. He fell unconscious, my grandmother and I started crying for my grandfather. About half an hour late the firemen stopped the fire and came in the house to save us. The police called my parents, and an ambulance for my grandfather. Finally it was all over. This was my most frightening experience and I wish that it will also be my last one. I never felt so scared in my life. by Darren Zammit

A frightening experience You are about to take a ride to my deepest, scariest thoughts. It all started when I was more or less eight years old.It was the night of Halloween and as usual I refused to go trick or treating. So I stayed home while my parents took my not-so-scary-looking sister. So now I was alone in our house. This was great! Now I could do whatever I wanted. As I was jumping up and down on my bed I hit my head. The next thing I remembered was a hair-raising sound.Shivers ran down my back and my heart was beating at a fast-rate.It soon started to rain. That rain soon turned into a storm! A million thoughts raced through my mind.Could it be a thief?I decided to stay put.But I was so shivering with fright that I knocked over a lamp.Just my luck!Apparently the thief had heard me and now he was trying to get in!I quickly dialed the number on the phone. The police came right before the thief broke in! When my mum saw her favourite lamp smashed to pieces she was red with rage but the policeman quickly calmed her down and tried to repeat what I had just told him. What he said made no sense but then I explained once more what happened.I hope that this will be my first and last time but if I go through it again I'll try to be careful not to break anything

It was two o'clock in the morning on a Friday. It was a stormy night with thunderstorms, rain and wind. I was with my sister Britany sleeping in our beds. We were feeling really cold. All of a sudden Britany came next to my bed and woke me up. Britany told me that she was hearing strange sounds. I heard them too and we stayed together in my bed feeling very scared. Every sound was terrible and hair-raising. Even the most common and normal sounds. We heard sounds like someone looking for something in the kitchen drawers. We thought there was a burgler. We needed to call the police but the telephone was in the kitchen. Since we couldn't do anything we decided to hide under the blankets. Then we heard someone cutting the cake my mother had made. Shivers ran down our spines and we were even more scared. Then we heard someone going up the stairs and go into our parents' bedroom. Then we heard our mother asking our father if he brought her a piece of cake. So we realized that it was our father. The strange sounds scared us the most. From this experience I learnt not to come to a conclusion before I knew the truth. This frightening situation was the worst one I ever had. Deborah Calleja.

Last week I was at home with my sisters Gabriella and Maxine. We were playing football in the kitchen.Maxine kicked the ball and she hit the kettle I was preparing to drink tea. In less than a minute fire started spreding and there was no fire blanket or something to put out the fire.My mobile was upstairs.Because of the fire I couldn't go upstairs easily so I went down again to fetch the phone. But I wasn't concentrating because of my other sisters. So I phoned the firemen. When the firemen came I was in the balcony for fresh air shouting. They saw me first and I was safe. After they found my eldest sister Gabriella but Maxine was still missing. Then all of a sudden I saw Maxine safe and sound .I couldn't believe my eyes. From this frightening experience I learned not to not playing with the ball in the kitchen especially when the kettle is on.For Maxine the best thing was that teddy wasn't burned!!! Naomi Mallia

A Frightening Experience. It was a thundery night and it was raining cats and dogs. I was alone at home watching T.V because my parents were out. I was on the comfortable sofa watching television and looking at my pet guinea pig. Suddenly I heard an unusual noise. A shiver ran down my spine but to calm myself down I thought it was the wind howling. As time passed by I kept hearing the same noise and I was scared. Then I saw the garden's door opening but no one was pushing it.I was begining to think there was a ghost in my house. After a while the lights went off and I began to cry with terror. Later something caught my eye. It was a shadow. The shadow was as black as ebony and it began to waver. I had the feeling that it was a ghost but I realised that it was the coat hanging on the cloak hanger. What a relief! I couldn't wait to tell my parents about what happened. This was the worst night ever. When my parents went home I told them about what happened to me. I am never going to stay at home alone! Never! Celine Abela.

A frightening experieance It was February and we had Carnival holidays. As we were during the holidays I went with my family to the Carnival. It was a Tuesday evening and I was four years old. We went to Valletta and we saw many floats. I was enjoying the colourful custumes. When all of a sudden I turned round I could not see my parents. I looked everywhere for them but I couldn't find them. I started walking and calling for my mum and dad but I couldn't find them anywhere. I was really frightened. I remembered that my parents always told me that if I got lost I should find a policeman. I thought I saw one so I went to tell him what happened but unfortunately it was only a boy wearing a policeman's uniform. When I found out that he was only a boy I became more scared. Finally I heard somebody shouting my name and I found out it was my brother I was relieved. When I go out in a crowd I still hold someone's hand because I don't want to get lost again. Daryl John

A frightening experience. It was Saturday evening. My mum and dad were invited for dinner at my dad’s friend’s house so I was left at home alone. At ten o’clock I was going to bed.All of a sudden I heard some strange sounds. I was scared to death.Reluctantly I walked to the dinning room.i was very afraid.I walked directly towards the sound. It was a hair-rasing sound.I went to check that the latch was locked but it wasn’t.Hysterically I went to call my neighbours. Then I took mum’s key. Then I climbed a ladder to my neighbours house. Then my neighbor’s husband took the keys and he locked who was in the house. Then we called the police to come. When they arrived they went in the house. They cought a thief who was trying to steal our jewelry. When my perents arrived home I told them every thing that happened. After that I gave a little present to my nieghbours. From that frightening experience my mum and dad nevcer left home without me!

A Frightening experience It was Sunday as it was a very cold night we didn't go out.We were alone because our parents had to go to hospital and left me and my brother alone. We were supposed to sleep but we didn't want to so we stayed watching TV. We were watching "sponge bob" our favourite TV show. Then suddenly the light went out.It all happened after a huge bolt of lightning flashed and it made a scary noise. Then we heard thunder striking. We were scared to death. My brother grabbed me from my armand gave me a fright.I grabbed the torch and went downstairs.I had to go in the garage to check the main switch. While i was going downstairs another fright i felt shivers running down my spine.when i opened the door leading to the garage i shivered with cold.I smelled the horrible smell of cheese because my father goes to fish and he uses stinky cheese.I opened the cupboard and i tried to remember how to turn the light back on.I couldn't remember so i called my mum and told her everything. It was my first experience to turn on the main switch because i am scared of touching buttons so it was even worse for me to do something like that at night in the middle of a thunderstorm because the lightning and the thunder scared me the most.

A Frightening Experience A month ago I was alone at home in the morning. I was cooking so I let the door slightly ajar. I became as silent as the grave when I heard a footstep. I knew I was alone and no one had to come so I went to see who it was. I saw no one but when I turned I saw a tall man. He had a bald head. The most scary thing of all was that he was armed with a gun! Outside, one of the neighbours saw him and told the others to phone the police. They arrived on the place in a split of a second. The man was a thief and told me to give him all my valuable things so he could pay his credits. If I wouldn't he was going to shoot me. When the police came he told me that if I told the police the truth when I opened the door his first shoot would aimed to my forehead. The police came in and while two were infront, others were going silently from behind. He was going to shoot me but one of the police raised his gun and he shot at the roof. The police caught him and started taking care of me because with the fright I fell on the ground unconsice. When I woke up I thanked God and was relieved and happy to be alive. It was the first and scariest experience of its kind. I hope I never meet that man again!

A frightening experience I was alone in our house because my parents went shopping. It was about eight in the evening when this happened. I was in front of the television watching cartoons. All of a sudden a bad tempest with thunders and lightning started. In a moment it started to rain cats and dogs. After about ten minutes the electricity went off due to a huge bolt of lightning. Then I went to look for the torch but I couldn’t find one. Then I found a candle and I lit it immediately. All of a sudden I saw a man’s shadow and I heard a sound; tikk, tokk… that sounded like footsteps. My heart missed a beat and my face turned white. But then I realised that the shadow was the one of my mum’s favourite statue. And the sound was of the big clock. Then my parents returned and we went to sleep. Altrough this wasn’t the first time this happened it was the scariest one. Roderick.M

A frightening experience It was Friday and I was on a holiday with my mother father and brother. We were on a ship because we were going to Hawaii. It was a beautiful day. But then I had a feeling that it wasn't going to be a very nice day for long because the weather was a bit cloudy. It was about eleven o'clock in the morning when I heard the storm from my cabin. I felt so scared that I felt shivers run down my spines. When there is a storm and you are on the water it's scary. I ran down near my parents and there I saw the waves crashing into the ship. It was a terrifying moment for me. The scariest thing had to happen to me on a holiday. I didn't know what to do. I held over to my mother and I didn't even open my eyes. I was crying with fear. I was scared to death. I didn't know even what to say and I couldn't speak, I couldn't think, I couldn't do anything. I was too scared. It was the scariest thing that has ever happened to me in my whole life. From this horrible experience I found that I am scared of ships. From that day on I've never ever ridden a ship again. I don't even want to go to Gozo. I am too scared ! by Daryl Leigh Schembri

A frightening Experience It was past midnight and I was still awake playing with my playstation. At one point I heard a hair raising sound. I heard a crash of two cars and the sound of a man’s cry, in front of our house. For the fact that I was alone shivers ran down my spine. For this matter I had a problem. I wanted to go out to see what happened but I didn’t want to go out because I was afraid. I overcame my fear and went outside. It was raining cats and dogs. As I cleared my eyes from the rain I was scared to death. In the middle of the street was an old man with blood dripping out from his badly injured head. In front of him you could see two cars rammed into each other. At that time I felt I was going to faint! One of the drives was face down on his steering wheel while the other one was still conscious. The passed out driver was driving fast and hit the other car. Because of this, he hit the old man and got rammed into the other car. The hurt old man scared me the most because I thought he was going to die. I felt that they needed help so I dashed into my house and called for an ambulance. In a split of a second the ambulance and the police were on the spot. It was a terrible sight to see. After a terrifying experience, I couldn’t believe that my parents were still sleeping. As I went to tell them, they didn’t believe me and went back to sleep. Well, this frightening experience was the most scariest of all. YET!

A Frightening Experience Last year my mum and dad were invited to a party because my aunt was going to be married. Children weren’t allowed so I stayed at home with my younger brother Jake. It was a windy and rainy day. At half past seven in the evening my parents left. My bother and I sat on the sofa watching television. After an hour that my parents had left I heard some noises. Wind was blowing at the window, noises of footsteps and items like drawers opening and closing. I was scared to death. I went to dial the number but a voice stopped me. It was a man with a mask on his face. Jake began to cry and began to bellow but another man put his hands on Jake’s mouth. The man who stopped me told me to tell Jake to stop. I did that and then I went up in my room with Jake and they locked us in there. I saw that my window was opened so I noticed that they had came in from there. I saw footprints too. Then I grabbed my mobile and phoned police. I explained them everything and in less than a few minutes they arrived. The thieves tried to escape but the police chases them and they caught them. Jake and I called my parents. From that day I never left the window open again. Made By: Svetlana Borg

A frightening experience About a month ago I bought a house for a very low price. I beamed with pleasure when the agency found me a house that I could afford .This was a very big house but it seemed to have been abandoned for many years. No one knew the house’s new story .When I first stepped foot into this house I felt something strange ,something out of this world .When I went to sleep at midnight and switched off all the lights, unusual things started to happen. First the books started to fly off the book shelf. Then the lights started to flicker. I also heard footsteps coming from the attic. That night I didn’t dare close my eyes because I was scared that something terrible would happen at any moment .At sunrise I stepped out of bed exhausted. I raced to the attic to search for some clues .I found a wooden box filled with pieces of old newspapers .I couldn’t believe my eyes when I started reading them. The articles were about a ten year old girl that used to live in this house .The girl was killed by a terrible accident in the attic. Shivers ran down my spine when I finished reading them .I realized that this was the reason why I heard footsteps and the others strange things..I found out that the girl became a ghost and that she had haunted this house immediately to avoid any unusual events. This was the worst experience of my life .I learnt that I must check the house before I buy it. Once again I ended up searching for a new home WRITTEN BY ALISTAIR GRIMA

A frightening experience. Last summer Mum and dad decided to go for a weekend break at a hotel. When the day arrived dad started the car and we left. When we had almost arrived at our destination we stopped at the traffic lights. Then I heard the engine of a gigantic van. In a split of a second I heard a sound of impact. Our car went running and mum began to shout then I heard a loud bang. Then our car hit a pole. I started feeling a bit unconscious. Then after some minutes I heard an ambulance. I tried to struggle out of the car then when I opened the door I staggered out and I fell on the hard ground. When I woke up I found myself at hospital. I saw my friends and my aunts and uncles. I had many cards. I began to ask them about what happened. Our car was almost total loss. The van’s driver couldn’t work out the van’s brakes. My dad broke his leg and my mother broke her leg too. After two weeks my parents got out of hospital. This was the most frightening experience I’ve ever had. I felt scared to death when I heard the van hitting our car. I wish I will never have a frightening experience such as this! Stefan Portelli

A frightening experience Last Saturday my family and I went to my grandparents to visit them. When we arrived there was a film about the war. When this film ended my grandfather told me about his experience in the war. The war began in nineteen thirty nine and finished in the nineteen forty five. Bombs were dropped from the Germans’ planes. When the siren sounded everyone dropped everything from their hands and went running to the shelter. My grandfather started to tell me about his most frightening experience during the war. He was eleven years old and one afternoon his grandmother was sick and she was in her bed. The siren sounded and my mother decided to stay with his grandmother but he told her that he will stay with his grandmother so his mother and his little sister went hurrying to the shelter. After an hour a bomb fell on a house next to them and even their house shook with the explosion but was not destroyed. Men were nearby and when they heard them screaming these men entered their house and they carried his grandmother to the shelter and he went running after them to meet his mother and sister. My grandfather and his grandmother were scared to death. After a few minutes my grandfather’s house was also hit by a bomb. They were lucky to be alive till the end of the war. Ryan-John Aquilina.

A Fightening expirience Last Saturday,at three in the afternoon,I was playing with my cousin. We were in my room playing "Uno".I went to get us something to drink.I got two cups full of water and we went outside the house. The weather was fine.My cousin spotted a door that looked spooky. It was at the back of our house. When I opened it we saw black things. My cousins was scared to death. But I tried to calm him down and he settled down.We heard someone shouting. It was my mother! She saw a spider and she thought it was a mouse.A shiver ran down my spine.I was frightened. I saw a shadow and I thought it was my shadow but it wasn't mine nor my cousin's,we were scared. We heard a hair-raising sound. We thought it was my brother who was playing an instrument but it wasn't.It was was scary music. We needed help so I went to fatch my brother,my mother and my father. We got in and got some torches to see, there was every old thing that we used to use but which don't work now. We went out.It was like room in a horror movie but in reality it was just a shed. But I have a feeling that we weren't alone in the shed I have never had an expirience as scary as this and I never want to go in that shed again. A frightening experience Last Sunday my family wanted to go to the Luna Park which had just came to Malta. It was just a stone throw away from my house so my dad decided to take us to this huge park with lots of amazing rides The weather was perfect with the beautiful hot sun shining in the sky. We went early in the morning because the day before I had to go to school so I had to sleep early. There was the biggest ride which I wanted to go on. My mum suggested that I go on another ride because this one had lots of scary things. After a while my mother said that I could go on it if I wanted to. As I went on this ride there were lots of spooky sounds and I saw a lot of scary pictures. The most scary things were the ghosts which could pop out from every corner and I was scared to death. When this ride was over I went out of the ride staggering over to my mum with my face pale. From this frightening situation I learned that I should always trust my parents. Tiffany Taylor

A FRIGHTNENING EXPERIENCE I was at home watching a comedy. My parents were out at grandmas house. It was about seven o clock in the evening. My parents told me that they would be at home at nine o clock,so when i heard a knock at half past eight .I thought that my parents had arrived but someone did before them. Two men fully dressed in black were out there. They were robbers.I was going to start crying and shouting but they told me if I would they would kill me with the equipment they had brought to rob the house .So i tried to stay calm.Itried to reach my mobile phone but they took it and broke it in a split of a second. This was my fist experience of this kind and I didint know much how to handle it.I had to wait until they were ready.I was scared to death. One of them held a gun to my head.At any minute he could blow my head up.Fottunately while they were robbing the house a policeman was stopping by and he realized what was goingon and he had brought his team to rescue me. The thing that scared me most was the gunnear my head. That time shivers ran down my spine. From that day on I learned to never open the door without asking who it was.For more protection my parents bought an intercom. Now I feel more protected every second.

A Frightening experience One day as I was walking in the country side I saw an old, creepy house in the distance.I was curious and I went to check it out and see if anyone lived there or if anything was inside. As I got in I thought that nobody lived in there. After some time I saw clouds, rain and lightning from a broken window.I kept wondering around and in a blink of an eye I came face to face with some real bats and then I felt hundreds of rats running over my legs.I was terrified. At the end of a long corridor a dim light and went to see what it was. As I was about to enter that room i heard old witches laughing and screaming.Obviously I stopped from entering the room. From a small opening in the door I saw them going around a huge bowl full of boiling water.I also saw a knife full blood and dead birds lying on the floor. As they say curiosity killed the cat and I was nearly discovered by the witches after I stumbled from the chair I was standing on,making a big noise.I was scared to death that the witches were about to catch me and I ran away as fast as I could. As I got home I ran to my room still out of breath.I did not tell anyone about this as no one would believe me.I only wish that this was only a dream and not the most frightening experience of my life.

A frightening experience One day my best friend Carly phoned me. She asked me to go out together and have lunch. It was a sunny day. Carly told me to meet here near the woods and go together and go together to a snack bar. At noon I went near the woods to wait for Carly to come. When she came started walking in the shady woods. Time passed and as soon as we arrived at the snack bar, Carly told me that she was feeling dizzy. I looked down and saw Carly’s leg covered in blood. She fell down helplessly. I started shaking, I called for help but nobody answered. I spotted a woman who was walking along the street. I called her over to help. Mary, the woman called on her mobile phone an ambulance. Doctors came, Carly was dizzy with pain. The doctors gently put her in an ambulance. Mary and I went in the ambulance. As we arrived the doctors rushed with Carly upstairs. They put her in a room to scan and see what happened to her leg. As soon as they found out a nurse came out to tell me what happened. A king cobra snake had bitten her. I was scared. Then Carly was put in another room were she was given shots to cure the venom. The nurse also told me that if the anti venom works she would still live but if wouldn’t she might die. I was scared to death when I heard this. I phoned her parents and mine to come quickly. Carly’s mother and father began to cry like me. Then after six weeks Carly was fine. This was the most frightening experience I ever had. I hope it will not happen again. I was so scared that had nightmares for six weeks. Tamsyn Vella

A FRIGHTENING EXPERIENCE One day I decided to spend the Summer holidays at my aunt's house in London. After a trip on a plane and then by train I was there.Beside my aunt's house was a steep cliff and on top of it was a strange forest. My adventure started at night... People were saying they were seeing strange lights in the form of an '.S.O.S.' signal by morse code.(*** * * * ***)I was thinking that someone was in trouble but people used to say that smugglers were doing that to scare people away.Anyway I went to explore and found a trapdoorin the heart of the forest. I went down and found two men hiding boxes of jewels underground. When they saw me, I ran as fast as I could. I cut off some pieces of small bush, then I took off my socks and put them beside it. Afterwards I left a false track for them to follow. When they weren't looking, I stole down the trapdoor and hid there, unseen. I took as much jewels as I could carry and ran off to tell the police, my heart beating painfully all the time. In under an hour, the men were caught and taken to prison. The police said that I could have the jewels for returning them and because of the capture of the men who were famous thieves. I refused politely but they insisted so I took them. I gave a jewel to every company that raises money for poor people on my home island. I felt proud of myself and the police. I'll never forget this experience. The most frightening part was where I hid or had to run away. This was the scariest experience ever...for now! Daniel Camilleri

A few years ago I come across a very frightening situation. This happened while I was staying at my grandma`s house who lives a stone throw away from our house. While my grandma went shopping I stayed alone for a few hours. After a few minutes I sae shadows down stairs and eard some noises coming from the sitting room. That time it started raining and as I was scared to death I went to my grandma`s room. Lucily my grandma had a phone in her room and I called her to come home immediately. After calling her I called the police and gave them my grandma`s houses address and they told me that they were on their way. My grandma arrived and came in. She called me and I went down stairs. We went tocheck if there was someone inside. Fortunately it was only the wind blowing the curtains. This was a very frightening experience for me. I hope that I won`t have another experience like this. Martina Brincat

When they arrived home they found the front dorr open and the lights switched on.They called the police and then they told us.When my parents told me i started panicking and did not slepp for a whole day.The police did not find any clue who they were. This was my most frightening experience and i wish it would be the last, but who knows? From this day i learnt that before you leave the house make sure everywhere is closed up. Andrea Bugeja

It was Sunday 23rd January. I went to a camp in ta qali so that I would experience adventure. I was alone in the camp. It was 10 o clock in the evening. The weather was cold and the clouds were covering the moonlight from the moon. All of a sudden I heard a rustling sound coming from the bush. At once, I was scared but I faced my fears by going out with a flashlight. As I kept hearing the rustling sound, I kept swirling the torch around. But once I heard claws clashing onto steel, I turned back almost immediately. I went back in my tent, praying that the scary noise was nothing. I peeped out to see whether the "someone" had gone away but as I peeped I got the scare of my life. There were some children who were playing pranks. I went to tell the adults taking care of us to catch them and punish them It was the scariest experience of my life for it was the only one of it's kind. I never wish to go another camping adventure again because that experience still scares me today when I think of it.

One of the most frightening experiences of my life happened when I was nine years old. I had stayed after school to play with some of my friends, as I lived close enough to home that I could walk. We were playing “Superman,” which is what we called the game where you swing as high as you can on the swing set and jump off. My friends and I always tried our hardest to see who could get the highest. As it got late and the sun started to set, my friends would wander off one by one to go home, until only I was left. Deciding I had one more jump in me, I kept swinging and swinging, getting as high as I possibly could, then I pushed myself off the swing. Crack! I heard an unsettling crunching sound as my feet hit the ground, and my left ankle rolled. I tumbled over onto my side and looked down at my foot as I felt a sharp pain work its way up my leg. Pulling up my pant leg, I saw my ankle start to swell up, and I didn’t have much control over my left foot. Putting any kind of pressure on it or touching it caused incredible, screeching pain. I started bawling; however, no one was around – I was the only one left. I must have laid there for about a half hour by myself, crying and holding my sprained ankle. Anytime I tried to get up and put weight on it, I fell back down again and started crying; the pain was so excruciating, like none I had ever felt before. As time passed, however, I knew that I had to get home. My house was only six blocks away, I thought to myself; I walk home all the time. My parents knew I liked to stay out late with my friends, and it wasn’t late enough that they would get too worried quite yet. Crawling to the swing, I pulled myself up and put all my weight on my right foot, holding my left leg up, my sprained ankle making my left foot wiggle in the breeze. Moving from bar to bar, and object to object, I leaned on whatever I could as I effectively limped my way out of the playground as if I only had one leg. Sometimes I would get on my hands and knees and crawl. Down the street I went – it was a small town, so no one was even out at that point. For six blocks I hopped down the street; it was painful and scary – I had no idea what I was going to do. I just wanted to get home. When I was finally able to get home, my parents gasped and asked me what I did. I told them honestly, and they got me laying down with an ice pack on my elevated leg. Later, the podiatrist would tell me I had completely sprained my ankle – a Grade III sprain. I learned many things about myself that day – first, I learned that I needed to make sure not to test myself too much, or let my reach extend beyond my grasp. Secondly, I learned how to work past pain and severe obstacles to reach my goals and get to where I need to go.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • In a nutshell

Essay on Scary Experience

Students are often asked to write an essay on Scary Experience in their schools and colleges. And if you’re also looking for the same, we have created 100-word, 250-word, and 500-word essays on the topic.

Let’s take a look…

100 Words Essay on Scary Experience

What is a scary experience.

A scary experience is something that fills you with fear. It can make your heart beat fast, your hands sweat, and sometimes, you might even want to cry. This can happen when you see a scary movie, get lost, or face something new and unknown.

Feeling Scared

When we get scared, our body reacts. You might feel shaky, or find it hard to speak. It’s normal to feel this way. Being scared is part of how we learn about danger and how to be careful.

Getting Over Fear

The good thing about scary moments is they usually end. After, you might even laugh about how scared you were. Talking about it and learning why we got scared can help us feel braver next time.

250 Words Essay on Scary Experience

A scary experience is something that makes you feel afraid or nervous. It can happen when you are not expecting it and can make your heart beat fast. Sometimes, it can be an event like seeing a ghost or getting lost. Other times, it might just be thinking you saw something in the dark.

My Scary Experience

One night, I had a very scary experience. I was alone in my room, reading a book, when suddenly I heard a strange noise coming from the closet. It sounded like someone or something was there. My room was dark, except for the small lamp beside my bed. I was too scared to move or to check what it was. I felt like the noise was getting closer, and my fear grew bigger.

During that moment, I felt my heart beating very fast. I wanted to shout for help, but I couldn’t. It felt like my voice was gone. I was sweating and shaking. I had never felt so scared in my life. The fear of not knowing what was making the noise was the worst part.

Finally, after what felt like hours, I gathered my courage and turned on the main light. To my relief, it was just a stray cat that had somehow gotten into my closet. Even though it turned out to be nothing dangerous, that night taught me how powerful fear can be. It showed me how our minds can make things seem much scarier than they really are.

500 Words Essay on Scary Experience

A scary experience is something that makes you feel frightened or nervous. It can happen when you are not expecting it, and it can make your heart beat fast. Sometimes, you might even feel like you want to run away or hide. Scary experiences can be different for everyone. For some, it might be seeing a scary movie, while for others, it could be hearing strange noises in the dark.

My Own Scary Experience

I remember one time when I had a scary experience. It was late at night, and I was in my bed trying to fall asleep. Suddenly, I heard a loud noise coming from outside my window. It sounded like someone was knocking on the glass. At first, I thought I was imagining things, but then it happened again. I was too scared to look, so I covered my head with my blanket and hoped it would go away. That night, I barely slept, jumping at every little sound.

How it Feels to Be Scared

Being scared is not a nice feeling. Your body might start to shake, and you might feel cold all over. Your mind starts to think of all the bad things that could happen. It’s like your body is getting ready to run away or protect itself. Even though it’s a natural reaction, it doesn’t feel good at all. After my scary experience, I felt jumpy for days. Every time I heard a noise, I would remember that night and feel scared all over again.

Learning from Scary Experiences

Even though being scared is not pleasant, we can learn from these experiences. After what happened to me, I learned to be braver. I also learned that sometimes, our minds can make things seem scarier than they are. The next time I heard a strange noise, I was a little less scared because I remembered that nothing bad happened the last time. Scary experiences can teach us to face our fears and to understand that sometimes, things are not as bad as they seem.

Support from Others

When you go through a scary experience, it helps a lot to have someone to talk to. After my scary night, I told my family about it. They listened and helped me feel better. They checked around the house to make sure everything was safe, which made me feel protected. Knowing that you have people who care about you and who will help you can make a big difference. It can turn a scary experience into a chance to learn and grow stronger.

In conclusion, a scary experience is something that can happen to anyone, and it can make you feel very frightened. But it’s also a chance to learn about yourself and how you deal with fear. Talking about your fears and getting support from others can help you overcome them. In the end, facing our fears is how we grow braver.

That’s it! I hope the essay helped you.

Malika spent a couple of hours getting dressed up in her finest dress, doing her hair, putting make-up on her face and finally coating her lips with bright red lipstick.

She then took her purse and went out. She was going to a grand party at a hotel ballroom. She knew that prominent and wealthy people would be at the party and she wanted to appear her best.

She walked down the road to where it would be easy to get a taxi and stood waiting for one. In a few minutes, she saw a vacant taxi and she flagged with her right hand. The taxi came to a halt by her side and Malika opened the rear passenger door and slid into the taxi. She told the driver her destination and settled back comfortably against the seat.

While the taxi drove on, Malika thought of the handsome and wealthy men that she would meet at the party and dreamed that she would meet her “Prince Charming” that night.

Suddenly, she noticed that the taxi was driving along a strange and deserted road that was nowhere near her destination. She leaned forward and asked the taxi driver where they were. The taxi driver turned his head and grinned at her. His eyes looked fierce and evil. Malika felt very frightened and pleaded with the taxi driver to stop. the man did not heed her cries and pleas and kept driving down the deserted road.

Malika knew that she had to save herself somehow. As a final and desperate measure, she threw open the door and flung herself out of the taxi. She landed on something hard and felt a sharp pain in her head. Then, she lost consciousness.

When she awoke, Malika found herself in a hospital bed. A young doctor was looking down at her. She was told that she was found unconscious by the side of a road that morning.

My most frightening experience Essay Example

  • Type: Essay

The most frightening experience of my life I have heard many people telling some frightening stories that they experienced in their lives. But those stories are not as terrifying as mine. It occurred in a foggy night in a small town called Lujan in which i was accompanied by my boyfriend and my brother. Whenever I hear about Lujan cemetery, it makes me recall a set of unpleasant feelings like fear and unease that I had once when I was there.

Frightening experience short story

That day, in the morning, I was travelling with my family and my boyfriend to a peaceful and small town called Lujan. While we were on the way, i was looking through the window; the leafy and fruitful trees daintily were swinging with the cool breeze. My father told me t

hat day was the anniversary of my grandfather’s death. We decided to visit his tomb. Trough the day, my family and I were visiting all my relatives that resided in that place. At dusk, my parents were very busy to go to the cemetery.

I suggested going at nightfall but they told me that I did not have to bother dead people at night, because many strange things could happen. I assumed that all those things were only superstitions. Finally, my boyfriend, my brother and I agreed to visit Lujan cemetery. At night, we were walking on a path that led to that cemetery . The sky was full of thick clouds and it was slightly foggy. The leaves and the twigs were ominously quiet, the air was freezing and we were chilled to the bone. At last, I saw a giant rusty

gate. We supposed that it belonged to the cemetery.

When we enter I could appreciate that it had a spooky appearance that it made my hair straighten up to see such terrifying place. Inside, we saw many rows of gravestones with extremely enigmatic carvings on them. When we were passing by the tombstones, suddenly we heard a strange noise coming from of a tomb. I felt a strange sensation and I was about to faint. We ran as quickly as possible screaming desperately, going out the cemetery. Outside the cemetery, we were still running, out of breath, we were near of having a heart attack.

We could not sleep in the whole night, wondering what could have done that creepy noise. The next day we told this experience to my relatives and one of my uncles found out that strange noise was made of a body that was scratching the coffin. It occurred because that person supposedly died from a heart attack and their relatives buried him the next day. The night that we went to the cemetery, the man’s heart revived, and the man woke up and scratched the coffin in a desperate attempt to go out. He finally died from suffocation.

How did the Frightening experience end

After hearing that, we never visited that place anymore. After this experience, not only I learnt not to go to the cemetery at night but also not to disobey parent’s orders, if I obeyed my parents I would not have this kind of experience. It was a pity that I could not visit my grandfather’s tomb and I never will do that due to the fact that I am scared

of going there again. All these fearful events accompanied with awful feelings make my experience the most terrifying of all.

Story time: my most frightening experience.

a frightening experience essay

It was an early Saturday morning and the sun was hidden behind dense clouds. The weather was unusually pleasant and my family decided to visit a haunted house in the newly-constructed amusement park in the city. We had read amazing reviews about the new attraction in the city and so we thought of visiting it.

I, my brother and sister were just right for the age limit too. At around 7:00 pm, we decided it was time to go otherwise it would get too late and the place would become very crowded.

I was very excited to visit a haunted house, as it had always been a dream for me. When we reached the amusement park, I was delighted to see a huge place where there were plenty of fun activities and thrilling rides. Since our main focus was the haunted house, we quickly bought the haunted house tickets from a ticket counter and headed straight for what appeared to be an empty and an abandoned house, labelled The Haunted House.

My first step inside the haunted house was horrific and every bit of it felt real. A thousand wild thoughts ran in my mind and I stood startled next to my dump-struck sister and brother. My jaw dropped and I felt like exiting the area without further ado, but now there was no way to go back. I held on tightly to my terrified sister. Inch by inch I felt goose bumps spread over my body and I was shaking with terror.

As I turned back to look at my parents, I realised they had been following another path in the haunted house, my brother was following another path and my sister and I were following a totally different path.

Both of us were walking close to each other, hand in hand when we felt someone tap our back. It was a horrible-looking person with blood-like liquid oozing out of his hands and face. His large black eyes were jutting out of his face and he stood with a hammer in his hand. He wore ripped and torn clothes and had a tag written “bleeding scream”.

Our hearts pounded and sweat covered our pale faces. From nowhere a book rose high and from it one could hear screams. Blood-like liquid then splashed out of it and both of us screamed in horror. We panicked when we suddenly saw a cart coming towards us. We knew it was for us and we sat in it with terror. It drove along past ghosts, scary creatures and wizards who were bewitching human bodies. I and my sister could feel our blood curdle, spine chill and our hair rise straight up. It was indeed the most eerie place we had been to.

The cart slowed down a little and we could hear the roof cracking and blood like liquid dripping from the roof. From far away, we could see a man standing with a knife. Our cart was making us go nearer and nearer to that man and suddenly … our cart fell deep down into an underground place was filled with goblins. My sister and I held on to each other tightly. We could sense that our ride was finally coming to an end. The ride was zooming past horrifying figures. Ahead we could see an opening far away.

We saw our parents and brother waving towards us looking haggard and frightened.

A few moments later, we were off the appalling ride, our hair were all messed up and eyes were red with distraught. Sweat was dripping off our faces and our hearts were pumping very fast.

This was no doubt the most horrific and frightening experience that I had ever had.

Since that day, we have never thought about going in that haunted house ever again. Despite the fact that it was terrifying, it was an amazing and a memorable ride. That night we slept at the edge of our beds in great horror and trepidation.

Essay on “A Terrifying Experience ” Complete Essay for Class 10, Class 12 and Graduation and other classes.

A TERRIFYING EXPERIENCE

Life is full of varied types of experiences.  Strange, in fact, are the ways of God.   If a man is happy today, he may be quite unhappy the very next day.  Some experiences are pleasant and joyful while others are full of pathos and pain.  If at one time a person finds himself on top of the world, at another time he is depressed and downcast.  It my own life I once passed through a very terrifying experience.

We were a group of four boys.  One day in the summer holidays, we found  the weather extremely know how to drive.  We collected some eatables and other things and left for kasauli by road.  By 10 a.m. we reached the Timber Trail near Parwanoo.  We decided to have a ride on the ropeway trolley and spend a few minutes on the mountain top restaurant connected with the ropeway.  Everybody was so excited about the joy-ride.  We purchased the tickets and entered the trolley.  There were four more persons in the trolley.  In a few minutes, the trolley started moving along the ropeway.  It was an exhilarating experience.

All of a sudden, there was a big jerk.  One of the ropes supporting the trolley appeared to have given way.  In a jiffy, the trolley lost its balance and started skidding backward at a terrific speed.  We were at a height of several thousand feet in the air.   A horrible death appeared to be certain.  In a matter of 6-7 seconds, there was a big thud.  Lo and behold, the trolley got stuck up and tangled amongst the steel ropes and came to a standstill!  It was hanging in the air at a height of several thousand feet above the ground level.  Life appeared to be hanging with a fine thread, ready to break down and moment.

Everybody in the trolley, including the operator, was terribly afraid.  There appeared to be no way out except to pray to God to save us through a miracle.  We could see death face to face as there appeared to be no escape.  The trolley kept hanging up in the air.  Various possibilities were discussed but no escape was in sight.  The situation appeared to be hopeless.  Nobody could have even a wink of sleep in the night.  The entire stocks of food, drinks etc. were exhausted and some of us started crying.  One of us got a high fever and started vomiting.  It was a terrible traumatic situation.  For several hours on end, we kept sitting terrified, huddled in that trolley, waiting for the final hour.

After full 48 hours, we heard the buzzing of a helicopter in the sky.  It kindled some ray of hope in our minds.  Within minutes, the helicopter stationed itself right on top of our trolley at a distance of some 2 feet.  A brave Air Force Officer came down the helicopter with the help of a rope ladder and joined us.  We heaved a sigh of partial relief.  In an excellent operation lasting for a few hours, all the inmates of the trolley were carried back to the base one by one.  It was a grueling period full of suspense, hope and fear.  At long last, every single life was saved.  It had, however, been an extremely terrifying experience.  Everybody thanked God for a lease of new life given to him.

As a result of public pressure, the government had to set up a commission of enquiry.  This commission was asked to go into the whole episode and suggest ways and means to ensure the safetly of the holiday makers using such rope way trolleys in future.
