• Open your PowerPoint presentation.
• Join a Google Meet meeting. If you’re the host, you have to first create a Google Meet .

If your PowerPoint window is minimized, it won’t appear under the Window tab. Therefore, ensure it's maximized and running in the background.

When you hide the toolbar, it becomes a minimized Chrome window. Click the Chrome icon to reveal it when you're ready to stop sharing.

Slideshow mode provides the best viewing experience for your audience by displaying your slide in full screen, without distractions like ribbons and slide sorter. It also shows transitions and animations on the slide.

• When you’re done, hit Esc on your keyboard to exit the slideshow.
• Click Stop sharing .

Can You Speak and Explain Slides While Sharing PPT

Yes. You can talk and explain your slides while presenting them, provided you haven’t muted yourself. Just click or tap on the microphone icon in Google Meet to unmute yourself.

No. You are only mirroring the content. Other participants cannot open your email or interact with your PC or mobile as can be done through remote access apps like TeamViewer .

Will Ending Presentation Disconnect Call

How to Present PowerPoint Presentation in Google Meet on Laptop

To present PPT on Google Meet from a PC, follow these steps:

Step 1: Open the PowerPoint file on your PC.

Step 2 : Open any web browser on your computer and join or create a Google Meet meeting. If you want, you can hide yourself from others before joining a meeting by clicking on the Camera icon. Click on Join now to enter the meeting.

Note: For better functionality, use Google Meet on Google Chrome.

Step 3 : Click on the Present Now option available at the bottom. You will see three options – Your entire screen, A window, and A Chrome tab. If you go with the first one, then all the participants will see your every action on your PC and all the data that is in the foreground. When you switch between apps, participants will see that as well. To protect your privacy, choose the second option, i.e., ‘A window’ from the menu if your PowerPoint presentation is saved on your device.

Note: If you want to share a file from Google Slides or PowerPoint file that is open in a Google Chrome tab, click on A Chrome tab instead. Then select the Chrome tab having your presentation file or any other document. Doing so will only share the Chrome tab and nothing else from your PC.

Step 4: You will be asked to select the window that you want to present. Since you have already kept the PowerPoint file open in step 1, click on the PowerPoint window and hit the Share button. You can open the PowerPoint presentation now as well. It will show up in the list of open windows.

Step 5: The PowerPoint window will come in the foreground when you click on Share. Reduce the size of the PowerPoint window if you want to see other participants in Google Meet or to view the chat window.

Step 6: At this stage, your entire PowerPoint window is shared, as seen in the screenshot. You can show your slides only by activating the Slide show mode.

Anyone familiar with PowerPoint keyboard shortcuts would know that pressing the F5 key on the keyboard will activate the full-screen mode or Slide show mode that takes up the entire screen. Since we want to see the Google Meet window, we will enable the full screen only inside the PowerPoint window.

For that, click on the Slide Show tab at the top of Microsoft PowerPoint. Then click on Set up Slide Show. A pop-up window will open. Select ‘Browsed by an individual (window)’ under Show type and hit the Ok button.

Now press the F5 key on your keyboard to start the full-screen mode. If that doesn’t do anything, use fn + F5 keyboard shortcut. Use the next and previous arrow keys on your keyboard to change the slides.

Here’s how your presentation will look to others:

Anytime you want to leave the full-screen mode of your presentation, click on the Escape (ESC) key on your keyboard.

Step 7: To stop presenting, click on the Stop Sharing button at the bottom. If you don’t see it, open the Google Meet tab and hit the Stop presenting button.

Stopping the presentation will not end the Meet call. Click on the Leave call button to end the call when you are done.

How to Present PowerPoint Presentation in Google Meet on iPhone and iPad

Step 1: Install the Microsoft PowerPoint app on your iOS or iPadOS device. Open the presentation file that you want to present in Google Meet.

Step 2: Close all apps other than PowerPoint. Open the Google Meet app on your iPhone and iPad and join a meeting. You can disable your camera before joining a meeting.

Step 3: Tap on the three-dot icon at the top of the Google Meet app. Select Present screen from the menu.

Step 4: A Screen Broadcast window will open. Tap on Start Broadcast. Now everything on your screen will be shared will other participants. So do not open any private file or app.

Step 5: Switch to the app with your PPT. Now others will see your presentation. Tap on the play icon at the top-right corner of the PowerPoint app to activate the full-screen mode. You might need to rotate your screen for proper full-screen experience.

When in a full-screen or slide show mode, tap on the right or left edge of the screen to change the slide pages. Press at the top to show the menu. Tap on the cross icon to disable the slide show mode.

Step 6: To stop presenting, tap on the red icon in the notification bar. Then hit the Stop button. Alternatively, switch to the Google Meet app and tap on Stop presenting. Disconnect the call by tapping on the end call button in Meet.

How to Present PowerPoint Presentation in Google Meet on Android

Step 1: Install the PowerPoint app on your Android phone or tablet. Once installed, open your presentation.

Step 2: Close all the other open apps except PowerPoint. Then, launch the Google Meet app and join the meeting where you want to share your PPT.

Step 3: Tap on the three-dot icon at the top-right corner of Meet and select Present screen.

Step 4: A pop-up window will open telling you that other participants in the Meet call will see everything on your screen. Tap on Start presenting. Another pop-up will appear. Tap on Start now. You will see ‘You’re presenting on the screen.

Step 5: Switch to the PowerPoint app. Others will see the switching process, so avoid keeping other apps on the Recently opened apps screen. Tap on the Slide show icon to switch to the full-screen mode. Swipe right or left on the screen to change the slides.

To turn off the full-screen or slide show mode, tap on the top edge of the screen. A toolbar will appear. Tap on the icon with a cross in it.

Step 6: To stop presenting the PPT, switch to the Google Meet app, and hit the Stop presenting button.

Step 7 : To disconnect the call, tap on the End call icon.

How to Present a PowerPoint on Google Meet on a PC

Sharing a PowerPoint presentation on Google Meet from your computer can be accomplished in a few steps. Whether you are using Windows or accessing the platform through your Mac browser, this is what you need to do.

• Your presentation will now show up in whatever format chosen in Step 4.

You are now presenting on Google Meet from your PC. Clicking on the camera icon in Google Meet will either hide you from being seen by the audience or make you visible to them. A line through the icon means that the meeting participants will not see you, only your slides.

If you click on “Entire Screen” in Step 4, the other users will see everything on your screen, including your talking points.

Additionally, reducing the size of your PowerPoint window on your screen will enable you to see the other participants in the meeting.

Once you are ready to end your presentation, tap “Stop Presenting.” The button is located in the top right corner of the PowerPoint window. You will no longer be sharing your screen with the audience, but you will still be in the meeting. To exit Google Meet, press the “Leave Call” button at the bottom of your screen.

How to Present a PowerPoint in Google Meet on an Android

To hold a PowerPoint presentation on your Android device, you will first have to install the app . This is how to use Google Meet for a PowerPoint talk on Android.

• In the top right corner of the Meet screen, tap the three-dot menu.

How to Present PowerPoint in Google Meet

Besides Zoom, Google Meet is also a fantastic service for showing presentations to colleagues and students. And just like Zoom, the screen-sharing feature is available on various platforms, including desktop and mobile.

But unlike Zoom, Google Meet is dedicated to running on a browser. Obviously, this makes the service easier to run and doesn’t take your valuable storage space.

Here are the following details on how to present PowerPoint in Google Meet you should know.

How to display PPT on Google Meet via PC/Laptop

1. Open the PPT file to be presented.

2. Then minimize first. Open a browser on your computer/laptop and join or create a Google Meet meeting by clicking New Meeting .

3. If you are entering a meeting, click Join Now to enter the meeting, then you will be in the Google Meeting room.

4. If you want to make a presentation, then click Present Now . The button is located in the middle-lower screen. You will see three options – Your entire screen, A Window, and A tab. Because you will display the PPT, then you select A Window . Click on the PowerPoint window and press the Share button.

6. If your share screen is successful, you will see the notification “meet.google.com is sharing a window” in the middle-lower of the screen.

7. To stop the presentation, click the Stop Sharing/Stop Presenting button.

Displaying PPT on Gmeet While Watching Meeting Participants

Did you know yet? When you make a presentation, you can still pay attention to the meeting participants and whether they are still following or not. If you don’t know, here’s how.

First, you need to do the settings in the PPT file first. The trick is to open the file and select the Slide Show tab, click the Set Up Slide Show icon, then in the Setup Show dialog box, click Browsed by an individual (window), then go straight to OK .

Next, you can go back to Google Meet , and click Share Screen . Then you can display PPT dynamically.

Part 1: How to Present PowerPoint Presentations in Google Meet on Laptop

With remote working on the rise, Google Meet enables users to showcase and share PowerPoint slides during online meetings and sessions. Whether it is a meeting, online class, or brainstorming session, it becomes a whole lot easier with a PowerPoint slideshow - bringing everyone on the same page!

You must be wondering how to share ppt in Google Meet , well the process is fairly simple and extremely functional. You will only need two tools to execute this screen-sharing process, a web browser, and Microsoft PowerPoint. We would advise that you use Google Chrome as your web browser as it works best with Google Meet.

Just a heads up, when you are presenting your screen on Google Meet, everyone can see what you display, so it’s best to open up your PowerPoint slides before joining the meeting so there are no surprises!

• Open the Microsoft PowerPoint Slides on your laptop, the model or brand of the laptop does not matter, as long as you have Microsoft PowerPoint on it
• Convert your slides from the default mode to browsed by an individual mode. If you have used Microsoft PowerPoint before, then you must know that in slideshow mode the slides appear in fullscreen making it difficult to switch between applications, therefore by converting the PowerPoint it will be windowed fullscreen, allowing the presenter to switch between applications. The process is simple, just click the “Slide Show” tab, then “Set Up Slide Show”, and from the drop-down menu press “Browsed by an Individual”.

• After setting up the PowerPoint slides, move over to Google Meet and join the meeting through the meeting link provided or schedule in a new meeting. You have two options: either you can join the meeting and then share your slides, or share the PowerPoint while joining the session. If you decide to go with the second option, you must click “Present now” and continue with the steps below.
• To share your Google Meet PPT presentation just click the “Present Now” button on the bottom right-hand side of the screen.

There you will see two options and must click one of the following options,

• Your entire screen - if you would like to share your entire screen, this means any application which you see, other participants in the meeting will see as well
• A window - this allows the presenter to share only one selected window in the meeting (this option is advised)
• A tab - this is best for presenting a video or animations, not a PowerPoint

• If the presenter decides to go with the “A Window” option then click the window that shows your PowerPoint slides then select share.

The slideshow will automatically start to broadcast to viewers. We are sure you are not wondering how to present a ppt in Google Meet anymore!

Part 2: Presenting Google Slides in Google Meet on Laptop

In some cases, individuals opt to use Google Slides instead of PowerPoint presentations, but have no fear because Google Meet is equipped to share Google Slides as well. The process is quite similar to that of sharing a PowerPoint, but there are a few changes.

So to answer your question on how to present slide in Google Meet ,

• Open up your Google Slides, go over to the Google Slides webpage and browse to find the slides you have prepared.

• Open Google Meet on your browser and go on to the meeting link page. Here you have two options, one - you can join the session directly and then start presenting the screen, or two - share the screen and then join the session.

If you decide to go with the latter option, then click the “Present” option. Since I’m using the Chrome browser, I will choose the slides tab to share. If you would like to share any audio, make sure to tick the share tab audio button as well!

• Once you have gone through these steps your Google Slides will automatically be visible to anyone and everyone in the Google Meet session.

Part 3: How to Present PowerPoint or Slides in Google Meet On iPhone and iPad?

Wondering how to present ppt in Google Meet in iPhone ? Well, don’t worry because even with a mobile or tablet you can access all the Google Meet features, even screen share!

Step 1) Open your PowerPoint or Slides on your iPhone or iPad, and then join the Google Meet meeting.

Step 2) To start sharing your screen, press the three-button icon which appears in the bottom right corner of your screen, and then tap the Share Screen option.

 Step 3) After doing so, the presenter will see a notification on their screen allowing them to broadcast their entire screen. Upon clicking “Start Broadcast” the screen will start to share in three seconds. Switch from Google Meet to PowerPoint or Google Slides and the screen will automatically share slides.

To be sure if the screen is being shared check the top of the iPhone or iPad and if there is a red stripe, it means the screen is being broadcasted to participants. Moreover, do not worry while switching apps, you will still be in the Google Meet session even if you go onto PowerPoint or Google Slides while sharing your screen on a mobile or tablet device.

Part 4: Presenting PowerPoint or Slides in Google Meet on Android

The process of presenting a PowerPoint or Google Slides during a Google Meet session on an android is very similar to that of an Apple device.

Step 1) You must open up your PowerPoint or Slides beforehand, while this is not necessary, it always makes the process more simple.

Step 2) Join into the Google Meet session, if you have been invited into the session then join using the joining link, if not then create a new meeting. If you would rather directly screen share instead of joining into the session first, then click the “Share Screen” option directly.

Step 3) Upon joining the meeting, click the “More” option and tap the “Present Screen” menu.

Step 4) After that, allow presenting and go to your PowerPoint / Google Slides to share them with participants, easy right?! Remember, participants can pause your screen presentation and start presenting their screen in between, as well.

Part 5: How to Stop Presenting PPT on Google Meet?

All good things must come to an end, just like wrapping up a productive PowerPoint work session on Google Meet. When a presenter is done sharing their PowerPoint slides they must stop sharing their screen as well. One easy way to do that is to leave the Google Meet session, however, that might not be so polite.

Instead, there is another way, upon finishing the discussion on the PowerPoint slides, click the stop presenting button which automatically appears on the bottom of the screen you are sharing.

If that option is not visible to the presenter, they can return to their Google Meet session, and click the stop sharing button as shown in the image below.

Moreover, if you are on an iPhone or iPad, you can simply click the red stripe on the top of your screen and a notification popup will appear indicating that you can stop presenting.

When you use Google Meet on an eligible work or school account, you can control Google Slides presentations from within a video meeting. You can also make other people in the video meeting co-presenters.

Important: To control a Google Slides presentation from a Google Meet video meeting, you must use a computer with a Chrome or Edge browser.

Become a main presenter

A main presenter is someone who starts presenting their Google Slides presentation from inside a Meeting.

• On your computer, open a Chrome or Edge browser.
• In the browser, open the file you want to present in Slides .
• In a different tab, join a video meeting on Google Meet .

• Tip: For co-presenting to work, your presentation has to be shared as a tab. If you share a window or your entire screen, co-presenting won't work.
• In Google Meet, hover over the presented tile.
• You can only control a presentation and co-presenters in Google Meet when you're in slideshow mode.
• If another presenter starts presenting a new presentation, then they become the main presenter and all current co-presenters are cleared.

You can control the presentation with the control panel at the bottom of the presentation tile and designate co-presenters.

• To jump to a specific slide, click the slide number then choose from the list of slides.
• Hover over the presented tile.

• Anyone joining from a mobile device, meeting room or an invited user who hasn't joined the meeting as yet can't be made a co-presenter.
• If a co-presenter leaves the meeting and re-joins, they have to be made a presenter again.
• Whenever the meeting's main presentation changes, all co-presenters will be demoted
• If the main presenter switches to presenting a different Slides presentation, all co-presenters will be demoted.

• Keep in mind that a co-presenter will need edit access to the Google Slides file to see speaker notes while presenting.

• Tip: Co-presenters only can control the presentation while in slideshow mode.

Important: When someone is promoted to a co-presenter, they get access to the presentation file's link as well. If the co-presenter isn't meant to get access to the presentation file, make sure to switch off link sharing before promoting someone to be a co-presenter. Keep in mind that a co-presenter will need edit access to a file to see speaker notes while presenting.

Become a co-presenter

Who is a co-presenter.

Anyone who’s appointed by the main presenter becomes a co-presenter. The co-presenter must be inside the meeting to be designated.

You can control the presentation with the control panel at the bottom right of the presented tile.

Co-presenters can't exit or enter slideshow mode.

Once you’re made a co-presenter, you get a visual notification inside Meet that you’re made a co-presenter.

G oogle Slides has several tools, such as audience Q&A, speaker notes, digital pen, and more, to deliver a flawless presentation to your audience. Autoplay is a handy add-on that paces your presentation without manual clicks. When you want your slides to appear for the same amount of time, turn on the option, select a duration, and fly through your PPT. Autoplay on Google Slides is available via the web version on the desktop, Mac, and top Chromebooks . Mobile and tablet users must use hacks to enable autoplay on their presentations.

Autoplay and loop your Google Slides presentation

We'll start by turning on autoplay during the presentation and move to other tricks, like switching on video autoplay and more. Follow the steps below to tweak your Google Slides presentation.

• Open your presentation in Google Slides.
• Click the down arrow button beside Slideshow and select Presenter view or Start from beginning .

If you want to expand on a specific slide, click it and stop the slideshow. To resume autoplay, move to the Presenter toolbar and select a timeframe.

• Open a relevant presentation in Google Slides.
• After creating all the slides and making the relevant changes, click File at the top and expand the Share menu.
• Select Publish to the web .
• By default, it auto-advanced slides every three seconds. Click the same menu to increase or decrease the time duration.
• To loop a slideshow, click the checkmark beside Restart the slideshow after the last slide .
• Click Publish to generate and copy the link. You can share the link via email and other social media platforms.

From now on, your slideshow launches in the web browser when someone clicks your shared link. You can stop publishing from the same menu.

Set up Google Slides autoplay on iPhone, Android, and iPad

Although Google Slides mobile and tablet apps are feature-rich, they don't offer an option to enable autoplay during a presentation. You'll rely on a hack to enable the functionality. Follow the steps below to make changes.

• Generate a sharable Google Slides presentation link and send it to yourself via email or another method (refer to the steps above).
• Move to your phone and tap the link to open it in the default browser.
• Find the toolbar at the bottom and tap the three-dot menu .
• Expand autoplay and pick a duration.
• Tap the presentation to start autoplay. Close

Did you embed a video in one of the slides in your presentation? You can autoplay the added video using the steps below.

• Go to a relevant slide in Google Slides and find your integrated video.
• Right-click a video and select Format options .
• Expand Video playback and expand the drop-down menu.
• Select Play (automatically), and you are good to go.

Google Phone might be making it super easy to switch to a Meet video call

• Some users have noticed a new "Video call" chip in the Phone app during regular calls, showing up above the keypad, mute, speaker, and other options.
• Tapping the button initiates a Meet video call without interrupting the ongoing voice call.

Google has been spotted trying out a fresh feature in the Phone app, which lets you switch super easily from a regular call to a Google Meet video call with a single tap.

A few users are seeing a fresh Video call chip in the Phone app when they are on a regular call, as spotted by Android Police . This new button pops up above the keypad, mute, speaker, and other options.

If you tap that chip, it initiates a Google Meet video call with the person you're chatting with. Their phone rings, but the voice call keeps going, making switching a lot smoother than before.

This suggests that Google Meet is making a move to be more than just a business tool. With this potential feature in the Phone app, it seems Meet wants to be a bigger part of our everyday mobile chats.

For a while, iPhone users had it easy with FaceTime right in their dialer. Soon, Android users might get a taste of that too , as video calling gets seamlessly integrated into the Phone app.

If the person you're trying to call doesn't have the Meet app installed, tapping the chip whisks you to a screen suggesting you invite them to hop on Google Meet for video chat .

Some users have seen this feature on version 125.0.613053162-publicbeta-pixel2023 and also on 124.0.608164421-publicbeta, as per Android Police. Since it's showing up on different app versions, it seems like this feature might be a server-side tweak.

So far, this functionality has only been seen on Pixel phones. But since the Google Phone app isn't exclusive, there's a chance it could make its way to other devices in the future.

Not everyone is getting access to this new trick just yet. It seems like it's on its way, but it might take a little time before it reaches everyone.
