Chapter 1 - Year Two Begins

When Year 2 finally begins, you can tap the screen to speak with a bunch of characters within the Great Hall. To continue the story, move the screen over to your classmate and pick a dialogue option. You'll gain attirbute points and see more conversation between you and your classmate. After seeing Dumbledore speak, hit the notification to speak to another classmate and begin talking to more people in the area.

You'll need to gather information from everyone i nthe Great Hall. You'll need to gain one star to pass this task. Tap the screen on everyone you see highlighted in blue to gather stars. You can speak with many of the professors on the top of the area, you'll gain stars from every person you talk to. When you gather enough stars and finish the task, you'll receive coins as a reward.

Next you'll have to go visit Professor McGonagall to ask about a missing classmate. You'll need at least 55 Gems to continue with this, or will have to wait a significant amount of time before continuing. You'll make your way to the Courtyard to speak with the professor. There will be a conversation with McGonagall, then you'll need to regroup with your classmate and search the Artefact room. Hit the prompt to go there, where you'll be greeted with another conversation with your classmate. You'll be asked a question, where you'll gain more attribute points, and see more dialogue.

Searching for Clues

You'll then have to head to the Corridor, where you and your classmate will search for clues to the disappearance. When asked a question, pick an answer and you'll receive attribute points. You then have to search the area by tapping on the screen on the highlighted areas to gather stars.

You'll need a total of 1 star to complete the task. If you find your energy getting low during this, wait for it to recharge or purchase more energy to continue onward. Eventually you'll have to cast a spell to unlock a closet, hit the prompt and draw the spell on screen when its shown.

After some dialogue, you'll need to spend 30 Gems to continue to the next section, which takes you to your house common room. You'll see some dialogue play out between you and your classmate. At this point, you'll have to finish off the remainder of your lessons in order to continue onward. If you've already done so, you'll complete the chapter.

Learning Engorgio

One of your lessons for this chapter will be to learn the charm spell Engorgio. Much like every other lesson you've had up to this point, you'll have to tap the screen on highlighted areas to gather stars during the lesson. You'll need 5 Stars to pass and unlock the lesson, followed by another 5 stars again afterwards to obtain the spell.

Much like before, tap the screen and gain stars. If you find yourself running out of energy, you'll need to either purchase more or wait for your energy bar to refill. Once you finish the lesson the first time, you'll gain the lesson for the spell itself. You'll then have to come back again to once again go throug hthe lesson and complete tasks to obtain the spell.

Do this again and approach in the same way. You'll occassionally converse with your classmate while doing so, but you'll need to achieve 5 stars in order to finish the lesson. After you do, you'll gain the spell and be rewarded with some gems.

Learning Reparifarge

Another lesson you'll have in this chapter is to learn Reparifarge in the Transfiguration room. Finishing this lesson will be the same as other lessons you've done up to this point. Go inside the classroom and tap the professor to begin. You'll need 5 stars to pass the lesson and earn the spell.

Tap the highlighted sections you see to gain stars and complete the lesson, as well as complete the focus sections that appear during the lesson. Eventually, you'll be asked a question about the lesson by the professor (Pick Undo Transfigurations as the answer), and continue the lesson.

Afterwards, continue tapping the highlighted areas to gain more stars for the lesson.You'll have to do this a total of two more times, as well as another focus section, befor eyou complete everything. You'll know when you gain Reparifarge after you execute the touch screen motion to complete the lesson. You'll also be rewarded with Gems.

If you have a high enough Knowledge attribute, you can agree to the professor's advanced transfiguration lessons. This will reward you with more attribute points, as well as points for your House towards the House Cup.

Introduction.

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 1 of our Walkthrough for A Special Celebration of Hogwarts Teachers Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. This adventure is available for the students of Year 2 and above, and during it, you will be chosen to do a presentation on Professor McGonagall at Hogwarts Teacher Appreciation Celebration.

You will get to learn a lot about Professor McGonagall by playing a game of wizard chess with her and interviewing other teachers. You’ll also get the unique opportunity to earn a special reward by completing this adventure, so be sure to give it a try.

Once you unlock it, Professor Dumbledore will ask all of the students to gather in the Great Hall for an announcement. Proceed there when you are ready.

Walkthrough

Disclaimer : This walkthrough will feature the gameplay from the perspective of a Year 2 student. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 2 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on the year you’re in.

When you arrive, you will get to interact with some of the characters and see what they have to say.

You will approach Penny and Merula and ask if either of them has a clue about Dumbledore’s announcement.

Penny will say that they don’t know why the Headmaster asked everyone to gather, but she will be fairly sure it’s something nice.

Merula, on the other hand, won’t be too sure about it. Your Hufflepuff friend will point out that Professor Dumbledore looks very happy, which is why she is optimistic about his announcement. Still, the Most Powerful Witch at Hogwarts will be fairly sure that is not the case.

Penny will be curious to hear your opinion on the matter. You can choose whether you want to side with her or Merula.  If you like Penny, it is recommended to agree with her. If you like Merula, you should probably side with her. Also, this choice will have a slight impact on some of the following dialogue.

Shortly after, the Headmaster will start his announcement. He will say that a celebration of Teacher Appreciation will take place during the following days.

Your previous choice will take effect on the following lines of dialogue.

Professor Dumbledore will add that this celebration will also serve to specially honor Professor Minerva McGonagall.

Professor McGonagall will be surprised by this announcement. The Headmaster will kindly point out it is part of a tradition. According to him, it’s Professor McGonagall’s turn to be honored during this celebration.

Professor Dumbledore will then continue his announcement. Listening to him requires earning five stars within an hour. Only one star is needed to pass.

If you are aiming to save as much energy as possible, it is recommended to earn a single star and wait until the timer runs out.

However, if you want to earn some additional rewards and a chance for Chocolate Frogs, you should fully complete this task. Bear in mind there’s a bonus progress action linked to Professor Snape.

The Headmaster will point out there are a lot of students who admire Professor McGonagall. She will feel slightly embarrassed to hear that.

Surprisingly enough, even Professor Snape will insist that she agrees with the Headmaster. And eventually, she will agree. However, she will want to discuss some details about the celebration with Professor Dumbledore.

He will smile at her and nod in approval.

You will notice that the Headmaster looks very excited about this whole celebration. Unfortunately, the Most Powerful Witch at Hogwarts won’t look forward to it.

As for Penny, she will be happy knowing she’ll get a chance to learn more about the professors. Professor Dumbledore will approach you and your friends and say that each one of you will receive a special assignment.

You will also need to make a presentation about the assigned professors. This means that you will receive the rare opportunity to spend some quality time with the professors and get to know them.

Apparently, you will be the one to do a presentation on none other than Professor McGonagall. You will be surprised to hear that.

Professor McGonagall will smile at you and say that your assignment is going to be quite extraordinary. She’ll say that she has something special planned for your interview with her.

Shortly after, Professor McGonagall will ask you to meet her in the Transfiguration classroom. Proceed there when you are ready.

Once you arrive, you will say you’re looking forward to the interview and learning more about Professor McGonagall.

She will say she would like you to learn something from this. After all, she is a teacher, and her main concern is teaching students. She will then point at the wizard chess set on the table.

Professor McGonagall will admit she is quite good when it comes to playing wizard chess. As it seems, you’ll be playing a game as part of your interview.

You’ll ask if that is the special idea she mentioned earlier. The Professor will nod and ask if you ever played wizard chess before. Your answer will depend on whether you played it before or not.

Moments later, your interview with Professor McGonagall will start. To complete this task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are required to pass.

There are bonus progress actions linked to your character and Professor McGonagall, which should make this task slightly easier to complete.

Once you are done, you will point out that you haven’t really learned much about her, aside from some of the things you already knew.

You’ll ask if there’s a chance she could tell you more about herself. Professor McGonagall will tell you that asking questions of personal nature isn’t really appropriate. Still, you will try to convince her to tell you more.

In the end, she will let you ask her one more question. You can choose whether you want to ask about her parents or about her arrival at Hogwarts. This choice won’t significantly impact the story. However, it will give you the opportunity to learn more about Professor McGonagall, so feel free to pick the option you want.

Unfortunately, the Professor will only answer one of your questions, so you won’t get to learn much about her past.

You will try to get her to tell you more, but she’ll say that she has important things to take care of. But first, the two of you will start your game of wizard chess.

The Professor will make the first move. After playing for a while, she will admit she’s fascinated by the way you play the game.

You’ll quickly realize that she is a very challenging opponent. She’ll nod and say that you’ll receive some unexpected rewards if you persevere.

The Professor will let you consider your next move and come back later to continue the game and your interview.

Not long after that, Penny will ask you to meet with her in the Courtyard. Proceed there when you are ready. Upon arriving, you will be able to interact with some of the characters by tapping on their speech bubbles.

After greeting your friends, you will notice that everyone is talking about the Teacher Appreciation Celebration.

Penny will say that she is doing a presentation on Professor Snape. Needless to say, she’ll be very happy about it. She’ll ask Merula about her assignment.

Merula will say that she’ll be doing a presentation on Professor Quirrell. By the looks of it, she isn’t too excited about it.

Penny will be slightly envious of you for getting the most interesting assignment. She’ll ask you about your first meeting with Professor McGonagall. There are two options to reply with. This choice won’t have any huge impact on the story, so feel free to pick either option.

You will say that you want to properly honor her in your presentation. Hopefully, you’ll be able to do that.

Penny will suggest talking about everything you’ve learned so far. Perhaps that way, you can help each other make better presentations. You’ll agree with her.

Discussing your assignments requires earning five stars within an hour. One star is needed to pass for Year 2-3 students. Three stars are required to pass for Year 4+ students.

You should easily be able to complete this task with a single energy bar. Also, the only action with bonus progress here is linked to Penny, so focusing on her actions should save you a bit of energy.

You will thank Penny and Merula for talking about their assignments with you. You’ll be quite hopeful about your next session with Professor McGonagall.

You will also tell your friends about McGonagall’s passion for wizard chess. Merula will find that surprisingly odd.

You’ll tell her about what Professor McGonagall said to you during the interview.

In her usual fashion, Merula will laugh about it. According to her, it’s all just a bunch of nonsense. Penny, on the other hand, will disagree with her, saying there’s a lot one can learn about a person by spending time together.

This will give you an interesting idea. Perhaps there is a way for you to learn more about Professor McGonagall.

Merula will be curious to know what you are planning to do. You will tell her you are going to interview the other professors and try to learn more about Professor McGonagall that way.
