We are seeking an experienced, driven and motivated Registered Nurse to join their team in London. We are looking for a Research Nurse that is committed to conducting high-quality clinical research that contributes to the development of new treatments and therapies for cancer patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build trust with the physicians and patients through multidisciplinary care coordination.
  • Assist in educating patients about their clinical trial so they can make informed decisions about their care as a Research Nurse.
  • Provide emotional support to the patient, family and caregivers.
  • Signpost patients to support networks, internally and externally.
  • Advocate for the patient in development of the treatment plan.
  • Manage a caseload within their own scope of practice, with support from the wider clinical team.
  • Coordinate the planned care required by the clinical trials protocol to patients without direct supervision
  • Play a key role in ensuring that any research undertaken within the department safeguards the well-being of the patients and is conducted according to Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
  • Liaise with clinical trial sponsors to ensure the trial is being run per protocol.

Key Requirements:

  • Current NMC registration
  • Oncology Trials experience
  • Chemotherapy Competent (SACT Passport) – desirable but not essential
  • Patient assessment and phlebotomy skills
  • Registered Nurse with at least 1 year of experience in research coordination, including early phase trials.

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated clinical research nurse to join our research team within the Vaccination Research group at the Royal Free Hospital. Vaccine research department has an active programme of commercially sponsored vaccine trials, including phase I studies.

As the Band 6 research nurse based in the trust, you will work alongside the existing team leading and coordinating the delivery of the clinical trial portfolio. Working clinically with the team you will promote high standards of both patient care and research practice.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated nurse, with management and research experience. You must have effective organizational, communicational and excellent time management skills. You should demonstrate the ability to manage your own workload and to work as part of a team.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will be responsible for assessing and managing the research pathway for patients participating in clinical trials, including Phase I studies. This will involve identifying suitable study participants, undertaking study assessments and procedures and ensuring patient safety by reviewing and recording adverse events. You will work collaboratively with the clinical trials research team and the wider multi-disciplinary team in the management of caseloads of clinical trial patients.

You should have excellent communication skills, together with the ability to organise and motivate others as well demonstrating significant initiative. You should be able to work autonomously, demonstrate enthusiasm and innovation when faced with challenges and be able to utilise excellent project management and time management skills in conducting the research.

The post holder may be expected to work flexibly across other clinical specialties within the Trust

The post holder will ideally have knowledge of Vaccine Trials, Phase I/II clinical trials and will be expected to develop skills and knowledge relating to the conduct of clinical trials in this area. There may be a requirement to work out of hours or at weekends

Duke Health's Inpatient Research Center seeks to hire a  Clinical Nurse PRN  who will embrace our mission of  Advancing Health Together!

Clinic 3N oversees the management of participants who have agreed to be a part of a research protocol.  The protocols vary and include pediatric to adult participants and visits range from same day appointments to multiple overnight stays.  While designated a clinic, there is a requirement for occasional night and weekend shifts to cover the needs of these protocols.

  • Plan, provide and document professional nursing care in clinic, utilizing the nursing process, in accordance with physician orders, research protocols and established policies and procedures, under the supervision of the nurse manager, charge nurse or practice manager.
  • Collect participant data in accordance with research protocols, evaluate nursing care provided, document and communicate appropriately nursing actions taken and participant responses.
  • Delegate tasks and supervise the activities of other licensed and unlicensed care providers.
  • Assist other nursing personnel in the delivery of participant care and serves as team leader.
  • Monitor and initiate corrective action to maintain the environment of care, including equipment and material resources.
  • Participate in own professional development by maintaining required competencies, identifying learning needs and seeking appropriate assistance or educational offerings.
  • Support the development of other staff and formal learners.
  • Participate in the identification of clinical, operational and safety related performance improvement opportunities.
  • Ability to complete research protocol specific training in a timely manner
  • Participate in clinic or entity level performance improvement activities.
  • Perform other related duties in practical nurse and all unlicensed assistive personnel
  • Knowledge of and appropriate application of the nursing process

Minimum Requirements

  • Must have an accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (or higher), Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma. (All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date and to complete the program within five years of their start date.)
  • Must have current or compact RN license in the State of North Carolina
  • 1+ years of previous clinical nurse experience is preferred
  • BCLS certification is required.
  • Pre-employment Physical Capacity Testing Required

Jay Duplass Kelvin You

Jay Duplass and Kelvin Yu are the latest additions to the cast of FX ‘s limited series adaptation of “Dying for Sex,” Variety has learned exclusively.

The series is based on the podcast of the same name. Duplass and Yu join previously announced series lead Michelle Williams and cast members Jenny Slate, Rob Delaney, David Rasche, and Esco Jouléy.

The official description of the series states “Molly (Williams), a woman diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer, leaves her husband of 15 years and begins to explore her sexuality. She gets the courage and support to go on this adventure from her best friend (Slate), who stays by her side all the way to the very end.”

As an actor, Duplass is known for his roles in shows like “Transparent,” “The Mindy Project,” “Industry,” “The Chair,” and “Percy Jackson and the Olympians.” Behind the camera, he and his brother, Mark, co-created the HBO series “Togetherness” alongside Steve Zissis. The brothers also co-created HBO’s “Room 104” and co-wrote and directed feature films like “Baghead” and “Jeff, Who Lives at Home” among several other collaborations.

He is repped by CAA and Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment.

Yu is a seven-time Emmy nominee for his work on the writing team of “Bob’s Burgers,” winning the award in 2017 for best animated program. He also recently created the Disney+ series “American Born Chinese.” He has appeared on shows such as “The Afterparty” and “Master of None” as well as films like “Wonder Woman 1984” and “Milk.”

He is repped by Writ Large, WME, and Yorn Levine.

Liz Meriwether and Kim Rosenstock are writers, executive producers, and showrunners on “Dying for Sex.” Williams will produce in addition to starring. Katherine Pope, Nikki Boyer, and Leslye Headland will also executive produce along with Jen Sargent, Marshall Lewy, Aaron Hart and Hernan Lopez of Wondery Inc. 20th Television is the studio.
