Upgrade Weapons at the Smithy
The Smithy allows players to upgrade any type of equipment to have better stats. Once you have the required materials, you are then free to upgrade the weapon to your liking. You can only access Smithy from the World Map; it cannot be accessed while on a mission.
All Smith's Hammer Locations
Found by completing side missions.
To get the most out of upgrading your weapons, you'll need to collect three Smith's Hammer items in the following missions:
Dismantle Equipment
As with the Smithy, you can only access the Dismantle menu from the World Map screen.
Declutter Your Inventory for Upgrade Materials
Due to the frequency of drops, the equipment in this game tends to get outdated fairly quickly. Take note of how much equipment you have and once you see the quantity rise, dismantle your weapons accordingly.

The Food Chain Dominator Walkthrough and Notes
You will obtain this quest if you have completed up to finding a Rathian in your Main Story (Assignment Quests). To trigger the quest, speak to the scholar standing by the Quest Board in Astera's Tradeyard. He will have a special blue marker( ! ) that sends you on your quest.
- The Handler is not available during the quest so eat before leaving Astera .
- Check Deviljho page for more information on unlocking access to the quest
- The quest is not available when you're with the Serious Handler during the Iceborne story.
I cannot find this quest after moving to iceborn. Is there a way to get the quest again?
The special assignment is lost after I move to Ice born. How can I get this assignment again? I tried to sign Deviljho again, but can not
i want the handler to get eaten and have the serious handler as the new handler
Where is the handeler
the quest won't appear for me, even after finished the main story and killing xeno'jiiva
Even the handler has more stamina than you :(
what should i do if the quest diappear ?
Wish I was that Deviljho
There is literally no point in 'helping' the handler, as once her grip runs out, the game has her rescued by a wingdrake, Chance at a cutscene of her being devoured denied

Smithy is a language for defining services and SDKs.
- Find out more about Smithy models and this example in the Quick start .
- Find the source code on Github .
Why did you develop Smithy? #
Smithy is based on an interface definition language that has been widely used within Amazon and AWS for over a decade. We decided to release Smithy publicly to let other developers use Smithy for their own services and benefit from our years of experience with building tens of thousands of services. By releasing the Smithy specification and tooling, we also hope to make it easier for developers to maintain open source AWS SDKs.
Does Smithy only work with AWS? #
No. Smithy can be used with any kind of service. All AWS-specific metadata in Smithy is implemented as decoupled packages.
Why not just use an existing IDL? #
At AWS, we rely heavily on metadata, code generation, service frameworks, client libraries, and automated policy enforcement. Existing IDLs available outside of AWS were not extensible enough to meet our needs and not compatible with our existing services.
How is Smithy different than other IDLs and frameworks? #
- Smithy is built for code generation and tools. Smithy models were designed for the purpose of generating code for multiple programming languages. For example, Smithy models are completely normalized, which gives all generated types an explicit name and makes models easy to traverse, validate, and diff.
- Smithy can be extended and constrained. Traits are used to extend a model and add capabilities that are not part of the core specification. For example, AWS defines AWS-specific traits that are used to generate other metadata documents that are derived from Smithy models. While extensibility is a key design requirement, Smithy provides a built-in validation system that ensures models adhere to a configurable set of rules and policies.
- Smithy is protocol agnostic. Smithy decouples the transport layer of web services from the data structures and capabilities of the service so that they can evolve independently.
- Smithy helps large organizations collaborate on APIs. Smithy allows different aspects of a model to be owned by different teams. We use this feature at AWS to allow the documentation teams to own API documentation, while service owners control the shape and operations of a service.
- Smithy models can be altered for different audiences. Smithy's projection system allows the contents of a model to be filtered and changed based on who a particular build of a model is intended for. This allows for use cases like maintaining an internal and external version of a model and providing beta models to customers as part of a private beta.
What does protocol-agnostic mean? #
Protocol-agnostic means that the model is an abstraction that specifies the rules and semantics of how a client and server communicate. The transport and serialization format of a service is left as an implementation detail, allowing them to evolve over time. For example, a service owner may wish to evolve their serialization format (e.g., move from text to binary), their connection type (e.g., move from HTTP/1 to HTTP/2), or launch entirely new capabilities.
What is the main difference between Smithy and OpenAPI? #
The primary difference between Smithy and OpenAPI is that Smithy is protocol-agnostic, allowing Smithy to describe a broader range of services, metadata, and capabilities. Smithy can be used alongside OpenAPI by converting Smithy models to OpenAPI .

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Special Collaboration — Special Assignment
Don't forget to try these special assignments featuring characters and creatures from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt! If you have reached hunter rank 16 or higher, a Felyne from the Third Fleet Research Base will appear in your HQ with a ! over its head. Talk to this Felyne and progress through the ensuing sequence of events to begin the quest line for The Witcher 3 special assignments. Completing all the quests will allow you to obtain some spectacular, one-of-a-kind rewards!
Special Assignment -- Contract: Trouble in the Ancient Forest
This quest incorporates gameplay elements from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. As such, quest progression is a bit different from normal.
Starting the Quest
This quest has the following rules: - Single player only. - You play as Geralt of Rivia, the main character from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. - Your equipment and inventory will consist of quest-specific items. - You cannot take any items back with you, except for the quest rewards. - Meal effects disappear as soon as you depart on the quest. - Your weapon usage will not be reflected on your Guild Card. *Your customized settings will be carried over. *You'll be able to change weapons by talking to the Smithy Apprentice at the starting point of the quest or at any of the camps.
The Witcher's Abilities
This quest requires that you make use of Geralt's unique abilities. Below is an explanation of the two skills you will be using: Witcher Senses and Igni Sign.
Witcher Senses
Activating Witcher Senses will cause clues related to the quest to be highlighted red. By approaching the clues and interacting with them, your objectives will be updated, guiding you through the quest.
During the quest, you can use the Igni Sign item in your item pouch to perform the gesture "The Witcher 3: Igni Sign," which allows you to spray fire in front of you. You'll need this to deal with the various obstacles that you will encounter along your path. Add the Igni Sign to your item loadout to sheathe whatever weapon you're using instantly when activating it.
Multiple Endings
This quest consists of main objectives, which are required to complete the quest, and side objectives, which are not directly related to quest progression. The ending of the quest will depend on your progression through the side objectives. After completing this quest, you can take it on as many times as you like from the Special Assignments menu on the quest board. Take control of Geralt of Rivia again and try to find all of the endings!

Pandora's Arena Won't Show Up. So as the title says the quest to fight pretty blue lady won't show up. I have it unlocked, the smithy keeps telling me to take the quest each time I talk to him. I think it's unlocked upon reaching guiding lands. The monsters all drop materials for augmenting. But you need specific materials for each augment type and level. Rarity 10 MR 50, Rarity 11 MR 70 and Rarity 12 MR 100. Think you had to find some streamstones and then go talk to the smithy, iirc.

yeah some of them are palico items, I think some correspond to layered armors, some are just random one-off weapons for a weapon-type you might not even use. Good to know! I also just looked it up, apparently there's a Felyne head armor and charm that use them too. 545K subscribers in the MonsterHunterWorld community.
