Watch live as Ferrari launch their 2024 F1 challenger, the SF-24

Ferrari F1 SF-23

Ferrari F1 SF-23 launch picture from 2023.

Ferrari took the covers off their 2024 F1 car, the SF-24, at a live event from their factory at Maranello on Tuesday.

Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz revealed Ferrari’s new F1 car, named the SF-24, at a launch event at Maranello on Tuesday, with the grand unveiling getting underway at 11 am UK time.

Online, the car was also revealed to a huge global audience via a short video clip.

The SF-24 aims to build upon the race-winning prestige of last year’s SF-23, and return Ferrari to a position of being able to challenge Red Bull for the title again after falling away from contention in the current ground-effect regulation cycle midway through the 2022 season.

You can check out all the released images of the new Ferrari SF-24 right here!

Ferrari has been making plenty of headlines in recent weeks, with the Scuderia securing the signature of seven-time F1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton to seduce him away from Mercedes – his home since the end of 2012 and the team with whom he’s won six world titles.

Hamilton, however, won’t be present for Tuesday’s launch event, with his switch to Ferrari still almost a year away. Carlos Sainz remains under contract with the Scuderia until the end of 2024, with the Spaniard aiming to put his best foot forward this year in a bid to find a new seat for 2025.

Sainz was the only driver, aside from the two Red Bulls, to win a race in 2023 as he claimed victory in the Singapore Grand Prix.

7 Ideas For Your Next Car Launch Video

' data-srcset=

Car launch videos are an essential part of automotive marketing in today’s increasing digitalised marketing landscape.

In fact, Google has been recommending videos as a marketing medium for car brands since 2018. With the onset of Covid-19 causing shoppers to have to go online to attend virtual launches and learn more about the new cars being launched, having a professionally produced car launch video is the number 1 most effective manner in drawing your potential customer’s attention.

Read on to find out more about 6 car launch videos ideas for your car launch video.

Table of Contents:

Car launch live streams, 7 car launch video ideas, tips on perfecting your car launch video, engage a professional videographer to shoot your car launch video.

As mentioned, car launch videos have been a key component of car launch live streams. Many car launch live streams have used their global videos as an introduction to the whole live stream session.

If you are looking to host a car launch live stream, here are 7 car launch live streams that you must watch .

#1: Porsche- The New Panamera

Launched in August this year, this car launch video highlights the key features of The New Panamera sports car by Porsche. This video was released after their launch of the car via their live stream event held on Youtube .

Highlights of The New Panamera video:

  • Each key feature of the car was introduced with a short text description that came on screen. Text like these are known as lower-thirds and are a form of motion graphics. If required, our in-house designer is able to design these motion graphics for your car launch video.
  • We also liked the aerial shots of the car as it was being driven on the open highway. These shots were most likely shot using a drone in order to achieve the birds-eye view of the car.

#2: Mercedes-Benz Singapore- The New GLA

Also launched in August this year, the New GLA video by Mercedes-Benz Singapore was uploaded onto Facebook and Youtube. Uploading your car launch video onto multiple social media platforms can help you to widen the reach of your video as you will have two different target viewers watching your video on both platforms.

Highlights of The New GLA video:

  • This video was short, concise and sweet. We liked that the video was less than 30 seconds long. Having a video this short ensures that viewers will be less likely to loose focus and click away from the video before the very end.
  • We also liked that most of the shots featured close-ups of the car’s interior. This gave viewers a closer glimpse into the fine details of the carefully crafted GLA that they could look forward to when purchasing the car for themselves.

#3: Mercedes-Benz Malaysia- GLB

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia released this video in September after their Facebook live stream launch of the GLB. Promoting your car launch videos on social media after the initial live stream helps to generate post-event buzz to keep the conversation about your new car going.

Highlights of the GLB video:

  • Just like the car launch video by Mercedes-Benz Singapore, this video was also shorter than 30 seconds. This made the video easy to follow and understand.
  • We liked that the brand messaging for the GLB was strong and straightforward in this video. This was achieved with the quick pacing and clear presentation of the various benefits that the GLB could provide to its new owners.

#4: Bugatti- Bugatti Bolide

Launched in October this year, the Bugatti Bolide is an extreme, track-focused only hyper sports car that was launched virtually via a global video released on Youtube.

Highlights of this video:

  • Viewers explored the features of this new car through the eyes of Andy Wallace, a professional Le Mans race car driver. Having a personable and credible host like Andy, helps to make the car launch video feel more relatable to the viewers. We recommend having a recognisable host who can help to relay the key highlights of the car in a manner that the audience can appreciate and connect with.

#5: Toyota Malaysia- Toyota Hilux

This video by Toyota Malaysia was broadcasted live during their recent live stream launch of the New Toyota Hilux in October. It served as a dramatic and impressive opening to the live stream event which was streamed onto Youtube.

Highlights of the Toyota Hilux video:

  • Like the New Panamera video, the Toyota Hilux video made use of drones to film aerial shots of the car on the road. This video showed the Hilux in 2 different road conditions– the rough, off-the-track mountainous roads in the open space, and the highways and regular city roads in KL. By using the drone, they were able to capture the Hilux seamlessly navigating through these two road conditions from a top down shot.

#6: Honda Singapore- All New Honda City

The All New Honda City was launched in August via a Facebook live stream event . This car launch video was launched after the live stream to drive social media buzz even after the live stream event had ended.

Highlights of the All New Honda City video:

  • The look and feel of the video was very similar to that of the live stream event itself. We liked that this video was shot in a similar studio to where Honda held the live stream launch, thus making the video complement the live stream event. Using similar themes for your post-event video helps to drive post-event awareness amongst the event participants who would be more likely to remember how your event went.

#7: EasyMile (EZ10)

While the NUSmart Shuttle may not exactly be a car, this was still an interesting video featuring the launch of the autonomous bus project by NUS and its partners.

Highlights of the EasyMile video:

  • This video had subtitles for their viewers. We highly recommend adding subtitles to your videos if there is a voiceover or a person talking. This helps to boost your video’s SEO ranking and makes your video more accessible to viewers who are hard of hearing or would otherwise require subtitles to understand the video.
  • There were interview segments with the various representatives from NUS, ComfortDelgro, EasyMile and Inchcape Singapore. During these segments, the representatives spoke about how their institution took part in this project and how they hoped to see the project grow in the future.

If you have an on-screen talent who is required to deliver a long speech, we can provide a teleprompter for them to read-off while they look into the camera. This makes them look more professional and eases the speech delivery segment.

  • Use a gimbal or a stabilizer. While you could stabilize your shots in editing, having a gimbal or a stabilizer when shooting your video makes it look much more natural. This is especially crucial for shots following the car on the road.
  • Take extreme close up shots of the minute details. Every car that comes out of your factory has been made with months of sweat and tears from your engineers. Show off these minute details that differentiate your new car model from previous models, or even from your competitors’ models.
  • Showcase a test drive. The best way to sell the car is to let it speak for itself. Deliver the smooth driving experience to your audiences from the comfort of their own home. You can also consider shooting the test drive using a drone to capture aerial shots as seen in The New Panamera car launch video. We recently wrote an article about shooting aerial videos with the new drone regulations in Singapore .
  • Sell a story with your video. Videos are the best medium to evoke emotions in your audience. Draw out emotions from your audiences by selling them a story that they can connect with. You could even address social issues that resonate with your audience.

Car launch videos are a crucial element to the publicity of the new car. With a professionally produced video, you can generate the right buzz that can drive car sales for this new launch. This is why it is highly recommended that you engage a professional videographer to produce the video for you.

Drop our project coordinators a message today and they will help get started on your car launch video. Our team is ready to help bring out the best of your new car.

Red Bull F1 2024 car launch LIVE: Max Verstappen’s new-look RB20 revealed

LIVE – Updated at 09:43

Red Bull are the 10th and final team to launch their 2024 F1 car on Thursday night - with team boss Christian Horner set to be present despite the current investigation into alleged “inappropriate behaviour.”

The world champions, who won 21 out of 22 races last year, will unveil the RB20 at their HQ in Milton Keynes with Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez also attending the event.

Red Bull are live-streaming the reveal of their car at 7:30pm (GMT) on Thursday evening, with interviews with the drivers and Horner following half an hour later.

Mercedes unveiled their W15 car on Wednesday, with Lewis Hamilton appearing for the first time in public since his 2025 move to Ferrari was announced. Pre-season testing gets underway next week, with the first race of the season in Bahrain on 2 March.

RED BULL 2024 F1 CAR LAUNCH - LATEST UPDATES

  • Red Bull have launched their 2024 car - the RB20 - at their base in Milton Keynes
  • Christian Horner has appeared in public for the first time since the investigation into alleged ‘inappropriate behaviour'
  • Max Verstappen also spoke out in light of the investigation centred on Horner
  • Verstappen also had his say on Lewis Hamilton’s move to Ferrari

Max Verstappen reacts to ‘awkward’ Lewis Hamilton move to Ferrari

Max Verstappen says the timing of Lewis Hamilton’s 2025 move to Ferrari is a “bit awkward” but insists he was “not surprised” by the Mercedes driver changing teams.

Seven-time world champion Hamilton shocked the world of Formula 1 a fortnight ago with the news that he will leave Mercedes at the end of the 2024 season following 12 years and six titles with the Silver Arrows.

Hamilton, 39, will join Ferrari next year and team up with Charles Leclerc, leaving Carlos Sainz without a seat currently for 2025.

Verstappen, who came out on top in the fierce and memorable 2021 title battle against Hamilton, spoke to the media at Red Bull’s 2024 F1 car launch on Thursday and commented on the morale in the team amid the ongoing probe into Christian Horner’s conduct.

Yet on Hamilton’s impending move to Ferrari, Verstappen said: “I think at the end of the day, seeing him go to Ferrari is not a surprise. If that’s your goal as a kid or your dream, then you go right.

Full piece below:

Max Verstappen speaks out as investigation focused on Christian Horner’s conduct continues

Max Verstappen revealed his relationship with Christian Horner remains “very good” despite the ongoing investigation into the Red Bull team principal’s conduct.

Horner insists he has the “ overwhelming” support of Verstappen and Red Bull as a whole amidst allegations of “inappropriate behaviour” made against him by a female colleague. The Red Bull F1 boss repeatedly denied the accusations when questioned on Thursday.

While Horner and Verstappen refused to comment on the nature of the complaint, the team’s star driver insisted the morale of the team is “better than ever” heading into the new Formula 1 season despite the investigation.

When asked about the morale, Verstappen said at the team’s 2024 car launch on Thursday: “It’s fantastic. It’s been honestly better than ever because I think everyone is enjoying their role.

Christian Horner breaks silence at Red Bull F1 car launch amid ‘inappropriate behaviour’ allegations

Christian Horner insists the support he has received from within Red Bull has been “overwhelming” as the F1 boss broke his silence amid the ongoing investigation into his conduct.

The Red Bull team principal also repeatedly denied the allegations of “inappropriate behaviour” made against him by a female colleague and insisted he was “confident in the process” clearing his name. He could give no timeframe on when the investigation will conclude.

Appearing publicly for the first time since the investigation was publicised – at Red Bull’s 2024 F1 car launch at their HQ in Milton Keynes – Horner added that he intends on being in Bahrain for pre-season testing next week.

While unable to comment on the nature of the investigation itself, Horner appeared composed and undeterred by the allegations, continually insisting it was “business as normal” at the world-championship winning team ahead of the new Formula 1 season starting on 2 March.

Christian Horner breaks silence after allegations over behaviour at Red Bull launch

Finally time to see the car

Here is a first look at the RB20:

Daniel Ricciardo refuses to comment on allegations

Daniel Ricciardo spent several seasons as a Red Bull driver and is now back in the team’s stable at the re-titled Visa Cash App RB team.

Understandably not passing comment on the allegations made against his former principal Christian Horner, the Australian did admit that he felt like he was back “at home” after returning to the grid last season.

“Getting back into Red Bull and the family, I feel so much at home, so the truth is this is where I want to be,” Ricciardo told Reuters . “I am embracing it a lot more because a year ago I was unsure if I would race Formula One ever again ...”

“Deep down I knew I wasn’t done but there was no guarantee I would be offered a seat again.

“I think it is a year when the team takes that step and (is) not seen as a Red Bull junior team anymore. It’s a team that is going to stand on its own two feet and hopefully make some noise.”

Red Bull set to pay record entry fee

Red Bull are set to pay record entry fee for 2024 F1 season. The 2013 revision of the Concorde Agreement that sets out the FIA’s regulations includes a ruling that entry fees for each competing team are determined by their success the season before.

A base fee of $657,837 (£521,691) is paid by all as a base fee, with an extra $6,575 (£5,214) per point on top. The Constructors’ Championship winners are hit even harder: Red Bull must pay $7,893 (£6,259) for each of their 860 points.

Here’s how much each team is set to pay.

Red Bull: $7,445,817 (£5,904,830)

Mercedes: $3,347,012 (£2,654,314)

Ferrari: $3,327,287 (£2,638,672)

McLaren: $2,643,487 (£2,096,391)

Aston Martin: $2,498,837 (£1,981,678)

Alpine: $1,446,837 (£1,147,400)

Williams: $841,937 (£667,690)

Visa Cash App RB: $822,212 (£652,047)

Stake: $763,037 (£605,119)

Haas: $736,737 (£584,261)

Will Red Bull face a more challenging 2024 season?

Speaking before the allegations were made, Christian Horner suggested that he expects a much more competitive season this year after Red Bull dominated the 2024 campaign.

“I couldn’t have imagined it in a million years,” Horner said of his team’s season, which saw Max Verstappen break records on his way to a third consecutive F1 crown.

“I don’t think we’ll ever see a repeat, certainly not in our lifetimes, of what we managed to achieve [last] year with a car that’s managed the kind of dominance of RB19 [the 2023 car].

“I’m fully expecting with stable regulations, [there’ll be] diminishing returns for us [this year] because I think we got to the top of the curve quicker than others.

“The field is going to converge. For us, it’s difficult to know who that will be. Will it be McLaren? Will it be Ferrari? Will it be Mercedes? It keeps moving around behind us. But that’s what we’re fully expecting going into [this] year.”

“There’s always a reset as you go into the following year. I’m convinced that you’ll see a lot more cars that look like the RB19 philosophy going into next year. If you stand still in this business, you tend to be going backwards. I think we have got up that curve quicker than others, but we’re into a law of diminishing returns.”

The cut-and-thrust F1 politics at play in Christian Horner and Red Bull’s power struggle

Comment by Kieran Jackson

Formula One team bosses come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. Some take the top job with a résumé bristling in world-class engineering, like ex-Ferrari boss Mattia Binotto or current Williams team principal James Vowles. Some are businessmen at heart: Mercedes’ Toto Wolff and McLaren’s Zak Brown the clearest case-in-points on the current grid. But no matter the background, all of them must quickly master the art of politicking: engaging and thriving in the intricate and detailed politics of the sport. Or else, be swept by the wayside.

In this field, Christian Horner comes out on top. A team principal in 2005 at just 31 years of age, a feat executed by way of a close companionship with ex- F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone, 45 years his senior, the Red Bull boss has long been a master at the sport’s dark arts. Increasingly, as he enters 20 years in the sport, Horner has been the great white shark in F1’s “piranha club” – a term coined by ex-McLaren ringmaster Ron Dennis.

Yet for all his spin-doctoring and mind games in showdowns between big bosses and bigger egos – aired most recently on Netflix’s Drive to Survive – it is quarrelling in the background of his own Red Bull team that is the subtext to this week’s controversy.

The F1 politics at play in Christian Horner and Red Bull’s power struggle

Marko addresses Christian Horner allegations

Back to the allegations against Christian Horner and Red Bull director Helmut Marko has addressed the case and (sort of) discussed whether it is affecting the team’s preparations for the new season

Marko said: “I can’t tell you that, nor can I say anything else on this subject. As long as the investigation is ongoing or there is no result, you won’t hear anything from me.

“It is an ongoing process. I hope that we can get our turbulence under control quickly. Fortunately, our car is ready and we are well prepared.”

Helmut Marko on Lewis Hamilton’s exit to Ferrari

Red Bull senior adviser Helmut Marko has also had his say on Lewis Hamilton’s move from Mercedes to Ferrari.

“I see it as weakening Mercedes,” he said. “Whether it strengthens Ferrari remains to be seen.

“Overall, this has an incredible impact, right down to the stock market prices. It’s great that something is happening.

“That’s true [that Hamilton’s staying one final season with Mercedes will provide greater intrigue]. Normally, in a situation like this, your mind is already more focused on the new team.

“The current team cannot let him take part in any serious innovations because he would of course take them with him. The whole thing is excellent for sports, better than Netflix.”

Christian Horner investigaton latest updates

The last five days have come and gone with no further updates on the allegations made against Christian Horner. Here are the facts as we understand them:

  • Red Bull Formula One team boss Christian Horner attended a meeting on Friday after allegations about his conduct that have cast doubt on his future.
  • Horner is currently awaiting the outcome of an investigation into “inappropriate behaviour” levelled against the Red Bull boss by a female colleague.
  • Red Bull Racing and the Austrian energy drink parent company, who have not detailed the nature of the complaint, have remained tight-lipped.
  • The meeting was held in London at an undisclosed location, rather than at the team’s Milton Keynes factory. It lasted almost eight hours.
  • Red Bull are due to launch their 2024 F1 car on Thursday in Milton Keynes ahead of the new season.
  • Horner was at Red Bull’s secret shakedown event at Silverstone on Tuesday. He will appear at the launch on Thursday.
  • Horner’s close friend and former F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone has denied advising the Red Bull boss to step down.

Bernie Ecclestone denies advising Christian Horner

Following a few reports that former F1 supremo and close friend of Christian Horner, Bernie Ecclestone, advised the Red Bull boss to step down, the man himself has posted on social media to deny the reports.

He said: “To clarify reports by newspapers that I had urged or suggested that Christian Horner should step down from his position in Red Bull is entirely UNTRUE.”

Sergio Perez ‘highly unlikely’ to continue at Red Bull beyond 2024, says former F1 champion

Mika Hakkinen insists it’s “highly unlikely” that Red Bull will retain Sergio Perez beyond the 2024 season.

The Mexican driver, who replaced Alex Albon at the team ahead of the 2021 season, finished second in the drivers’ championship last year as Red Bull dominated the 2023 campaign.

However, Perez finished 290 points behind teammate Max Verstappen and won just two races, while the Dutchman won 19.

Perez’s contract with Red Bull ends at the end of next season and two-time F1 world champion Hakkinen believes Christian Horner ’s team are set to move on from the Mexican after this year, with Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo among the names linked with the second seat for 2025 and beyond.

“Usually one or the other is slower – in this case Perez is slower than Max, it has been pretty clear lately,” the Finn told Unibet .

Christian Horner to attend Red Bull car launch amid ongoing probe into behaviour

Christian Horner will face the media on Thursday as an investigation into an allegation of “inappropriate behaviour” against the Red Bull team principal continues.

The embattled boss is due to attend the world champions’ car launch at their Milton Keynes headquarters in what will be his first public appearance since the accusation by a female colleague surfaced at the beginning of last week. Horner, 50, categorically denies the claim.

For now, Horner remains in his role as team principal and was present at a behind-closed-doors Red Bull test at Silverstone on Tuesday ahead of the new season which starts in just over a fortnight.

Red Bull will unveil their new car on Thursday and Horner is expected to address the media – although the PA news agency understands legalities around the process mean that questions relating to the internal investigation will be off-limits.

Red Bull F1 2024 car launch LIVE: Start time and how to watch

Max verstappen unveils 2024 helmet for red bull, red bull ‘failed’ with rb19 despite dominating f1.

Red Bull technical director Pierre Wache insists Sergio Perez’s struggles meant they “failed” due to the F1 challenger concept ensuring both drivers could feasibly obtain the “maximum”.

The RB19 proved to be one of the most dominant F1 challengers in the sport’s history, winning 21 of the 22 Grands Prix held.

Max Verstappen dominated, winning a sensational 19 of those 21 wins on his way to a third World Championship in as many years, but Perez struggled at times, leading to Wache commenting on how the team “failed” in some capacity.

Speaking to Formule1.nl Magazine, Wache said: “Developing a fast car is a concept, it doesn’t actually exist. A fast car is a car that the driver can get the maximum out of.

“In that sense, we failed, because only one driver, Max in this case, could drive well in the car.

“That is Max’s talent, that he could get the most out of the car, no matter the circumstances. On the other hand, we didn’t clearly understand what Checo needed to push the RB19 to its highest potential.

“But whether this year’s [2023] success is mainly down to Max or whether it’s the car after all? I think you need both. The more talent the driver has, the better the car performs. Because then the talent and the car come together.

“As you make a car easier to drive, you reduce its potential. Believe me, if I drove this car myself, not only would I be slow, I would crash.”

Toto Wolff on Mercedes’ chances of beating Red Bull

"On one hand, you need to be realistic about the odds of beating a team that is a fair chunk ahead under these regulations, and who got things right over the last two seasons whilst we have not," the Mercedes boss said.

"There are no miracles in the sport. On the other hand, our ambition is strong. It is Red Bull and a very successful car that are the benchmark we are aiming to beat.

"I do not know when that will happen, we do not have any crystal ball. But we will know soon enough how far ahead they are and the task in front of us."

Christian Horner: The Red Bull F1 Drive to Survive star married to Spice Girl Geri Halliwell

Christian Horner ’s influence on Formula One – from the 31-year-old hotshot team principal in 2005 to unmissable mainstay of the paddock nearly 20 years on – is unquestionable. The Red Bull boss was tasked with a monumental mission when he was put in charge of the energy drink giant’s peculiar foray into the pinnacle of world motorsport in the mid-2000s. The castle he has built since has been stratospherically impressive. Case in point was last year’s near-perfect season, winning 21 out of 22 races. It has all been, perhaps, even beyond his own lofty aspirations.

But it could all come crumbling down. As details emerged on Monday, Horner is now subject to an investigation by Red Bull’s parent company, Red Bull GmbH, after a complaint of “inappropriate behaviour” was made by a female colleague. The Associated Press elaborates slightly further, claiming it is about the 50-year-old’s aggressive management style. Horner strongly denies the allegations and there will be a hearing on Friday .

Red Bull GmbH has handed over the matter to an “external specialist barrister” to conduct the investigation, thus illustrating the seriousness of the matter and how it is being dealt with by Red Bull GmbH chief executive Oliver Mintzlaff. With less than a month until the new F1 season, it represents a vital moment in the team’s 19-year history. And depending on the outcome, the ramifications for not just Red Bull but for the whole sport could be seismic.

Red Bull F1 2024 car launch: Max Verstappen’s new-look RB20 to be revealed

“The current team cannot let him take part in any serious innovations because he would of course take them with him.

Red Bull set to pay record entry fee for 2024 F1 season

The success of Red Bull during the 2023 Formula 1 season means that the team is set to pay a record entry fee in 2024.

Max Verstappen was virtually untouchable as he cruised to a third consecutive world title, with the Red Bull driver taking race victories at 19 of the 22 season stops.

With teammate Sergio Perez also securing two race victories, the team ultimately totalled 860 points across the season, 451 more than closest rivals Mercedes .

While the financial rewards that come with such success are obviously significant, F1 rules mean that Red Bull will have to outlay more than any other team to remain on the grid in 2024.

ormula One team bosses come in all sorts of shapes and sizes.

Yet for all his spin-doctoring and mind games in showdowns between big bosses and bigger egos – aired most recently on Netflix’s Drive to Survive – it is quarrelling in the background of his own Red Bull team that is the subtext to this week’s controversy. Horner, 50, is fighting for his job after being accused of inappropriate controlling behaviour by a female colleague.

Helmut Marko breaks silence on Red Bull’s Christian Horner investigation

Red Bull senior advisor Helmut Marko has broken his silence over the Christian Horner investigation.

The F1 team’s boss is being investigated by Red Bull Racing’s parent company Red Bull GmbH over alleged behavioural grounds.

There is very little detail surrounding the complaints, with Horner strongly refuting all allegations made against him.

The 50-year-old attended a hearing in London last Friday, meeting with the external barrister appointed by Red Bull GmbH.

Sergio Perez will be determined to show he can hang with Max Verstappen and make a case for extending his stay with the team.

Pierre Wache on working closely with Adrian Newey

Pierre Waché has spoken about working closely with Adrian Newey as the Red Bull engineers aim to retain their dominance in 2024.

“Without him, I would not have been at Red Bull,” said the Frenchman, according to Formule 1, who is a member of our senior technical group and has been with the team since 2013. “He is the man who got me here. I have since my arrival learned an enormous amount from him. How we work together has evolved over the years.”

“Adrian is a very competitive person. He never gives up. In many ways, he is a source of inspiration to me. His motivation and dedication are impressive, especially when you consider what he has already achieved. Every day he still challenges you to make things even better.”

Helmut Marko on RB20’s performance

“This will be shown next week during the tests in Bahrain. What can already be said is that the new car is an evolution from the previous year’s car, and we had the best package,” says one of the main players at Red Bull.

“If we eliminate the few weak points, not much should actually go wrong. But who knows: Maybe a competitor has succeeded in a special trick in the development.”

Former Red Bull chief engineer begins role at McLaren

Red Bull will be without Rob Marshall this season, the former chief engineering officer is teaming up with McLaren this season.

Marshall will be the team's new technical director for design and engineering in what has been a major restructure.

McLaren have also poached David Sanchez from Ferrari, who will serve as technical director for car concept and performance, while Peter Prodromou is in charge of the aerodynamic side.

Christian Horner to attend Red Bull car launch amid behaviour investigation

Red Bull will unveil their new car on Thursday and Horner is expected to address the media - although the PA news agency understands legalities around the process mean that questions relating to the internal investigation will be off-limits.

Last week, Horner was quizzed by a lawyer for eight hours as part of the probe by Red Bull Racing’s parent company Red Bull GmBH.

There had been a strong desire for Horner’s future to be resolved before Thursday’s launch but sources have indicated that he could face further rounds of questioning as he bids to prove his innocence.

Horner has been Red Bull team principal since they entered F1 19 years ago and is the longest-serving boss on the grid.

During that period he has overseen seven drivers’ world championships and six constructors’ titles. Red Bull have dominated the sport in recent seasons and last year won 21 of the 22 races, with Max Verstappen setting a new record for 10 consecutive victories.

Some on-track news to bring you. F1 have released all the race times for the upcoming 2024 season. Four proper evening races in there, plus a couple of late-afternoon/prevening start times where it may well get dark before racing concludes.

This is the sign that the season is edging ever closer!

Lando Norris given target by McLaren boss for 2024 after unveiling new car

McLaren ‘s new MCL38 Formula 1 car made its track debut at a soggy Silverstone on Wednesday with team chief executive Zak Brown setting out a target of wins as well as podiums this season.

The former champions finished fourth overall in 2023 with Britain’s Lando Norris and Australian rookie Oscar Piastri .

Norris finished on the podium seven times, including six second places, while Piastri was second in Qatar and third in Japan.

“We feel good, it’s been a good winter. We’re happy with the development,” Brown told Sky Sports television. “It feels like we’ve continued on our development pace from where we were in the second half of last year.

“So as long as the data is accurate I think we should start pretty strong. Of course you never know what the competition is doing but we definitely feel we’ve taken a step forward.”

When Red Bull boss Horner was quickly making a name for himself in F1 with results on the track and influence off the track, he gained the trust and support of F1 supremo Ecclestone, who backed his entrance into F1 in 2005.

So much so, in fact, that Horner served as best man at Ecclestone’s wedding to third wife Fabaina in 2012, and then vice-versa when Horner married Geri Halliwell three years later. Their straight-talking similarities seemed to trump the 43-year age gap.

McLaren emerged as the closest contender to Red Bull last year following an impressive mid-season turnaround with Norris scoring seven podiums.

The 24-year-old, gearing up for his sixth season on the Formula One grid, last month committed his future to McLaren by signing a contract extension which will keep him with the British team for at least the next three seasons.

Red Bull won all but one of the 22 rounds last season, with Verstappen cruising to his third world title in as many years.

Christian Horner will be present at Red Bull ’s 2024 F1 car launch on Thursday despite the current internal investigation centred on his alleged “inappropriate behaviour.”

The Red Bull team principal will face the media as the world champions reveal their RB20 car but is likely to be limited in what he can say on the matter due to legal reasons, as his future at the helm hangs in the balance.

Horner, who has been in charge of Red Bull Racing since its inception in 2005 , met with the external lawyer tasked with leading the investigation in central London last Friday. He strongly denies the allegations of “inappropriate, controlling behaviour” by a female colleague.

Horner, 50, was also on-site at Silverstone on Tuesday at a secret filming day for Red Bull as he goes about his duties as team principal and chief executive normally, despite the investigation by the team’s parent company Red Bull GmbH.

Ranking every F1 team's 2024 launch from worst to best

After more than four weeks of teases, livery reveals and car launches, Formula 1 teams have more or less shown us everything they want to before pre-season testing begins next week .

But which team did the best job of its car launch? Who created something worthwhile? And whose offering did we end up wishing we'd skipped?

We asked our writers to rank every team's launch (including its 'event', what it released to media, and what it produced for social media) from worst to best:

presentation on new car launch

The first car launch for Red Bull's rebranded second team RB didn't exactly go down well with our panel. The timings for the Las Vegas event weren't widely advertised in advance, nor was the event streamed anywhere. Instead, images of the car and later pictures from the launch event were dumped at a time that suited very few F1 fans or media.

"This was not a launch for fans or media and a limp way to start a new era," was Scott Mitchell-Malm's verdict.

Josh Suttill called it a "woeful first launch" for RB's new identity and said "you couldn't have designed a more alienating method of delivering a new look".

presentation on new car launch

Edd Straw's cutting review read: "It was poorly communicated, offered nothing to fans and didn’t make it clear there would be little for those in Europe who made the effort to be around when it was happening.

"Sums up a team only interested in serving those it sees as bringing in big money and that appears more of an afterthought than ever for Red Bull."

Ben Anderson lambasted the "shambolic" timings and the Visa Cash App RB name and said everything but the car "can get in the bin".

The car itself was free from ridicule, instead drawing praise and creating what Suttill described as "a big missed opportunity to show off a really nice looking car".

9 - Williams

presentation on new car launch

Williams is the only F1 team yet to properly show its 2024 car and suffers here in our ranking because of it.

"The absence of anything approaching a 2024 car harpoons the Williams ranking despite a good effort level in other areas," Edd Straw explains.

presentation on new car launch

Or as Suttill put it "didn't promise much, didn't deliver much".

Mitchell-Malm was satisfied with Williams at least putting on media sessions and producing content with the drivers and team boss James Vowles for fans.

"OK, it didn't launch a car, but did launch its 'season' and show its livery - and made drivers and the team boss available plus produced content for fans," he said.

"Good in the circumstances."

presentation on new car launch

Haas showed the first (sort of) real 2024 F1 car by releasing renders of an early version of its new challenger, the VF-24, on February 2.

Just over a week later, there was content released from its Silverstone shakedown.

"A bit of 'did the bare minimum' about this but early renders were nice and Haas produced some assets from the shakedown too," Mitchell-Malm said. "So we have at least seen the car."

Straw said it was "ultimately a low-key launch for a team expecting to have a low-key start to the season" while Anderson called it "as basic as it gets" and joked it was a consequence of "Gene Haas obviously tightening the belt still".

Suttill felt that McLaren's mid-January livery launch stole some of Haas's usual 'first launch' thunder but has been impressed with Haas's steady drip-feeding of content throughout launch season.

7 - McLaren

presentation on new car launch

McLaren had not one but two F1 launches, with a livery launch in mid-January and a proper car reveal in mid-February.

"Quite smart to go so much earlier than everyone else -  but  it was only a livery," Anderson remarked.

"And then they disguised the real car too! Thumbs down for that - though I also admire their good old-fashioned sense of F1 paranoia !"

Mitchell-Malm labelled it a "much more streamlined launch compared to previous years", which meant there was "less for fans and media to go on".

He pointed out that McLaren in particular "disguised" the assets it did provide although complemented it for giving media access to key figures at both launches.

Suttill found "two launches to be one too many" but understood why it couldn't show its 2024 car in mid-January.

6 - Aston Martin

presentation on new car launch

"The Aston Martin launch was good from a media perspective given team boss Mike Krack, technical director Mike Fallows and the drivers were put up to speak. However, the 86-second launch video didn’t give fans too much to get into," was Straw's summary of Aston's brief virtual launch.

Anderson said that "the car looked decent, but the whole thing almost got overshadowed by the star driver putting himself on the market for a drive with the engine builder!"

That's in reference to Fernando Alonso partly using his launch media session to sell himself to Mercedes as an option to replace Lewis Hamilton after 2024, while Aston openly said it wants Alonso to stay.

For Suttill, this is what "elevated the launch beyond the basic video reveal".

5 - Mercedes

presentation on new car launch

The Mercedes launch was a brief, 10-minute affair where the car was immediately shown, almost nonchalantly, with Toto Wolff, Lewis Hamilton and George Russell standing over it.

All three gave some brief words and then that was it for the launch of the W15 bar some footage and images that emerged from its shakedown at Silverstone later in the day.

presentation on new car launch

"A quiet reveal for a team determined to let its on-track performance do the talking after two chastening years," was Straw's take.

Suttill wasn't bowled over, saying "it all felt a bit flat and melancholy to me".

"I appreciated that it got on with it but there was no fizz or sparkle. Too much is suffocating but none at a launch just feels a bit sombre," he added.

That didn't particularly bother Anderson, who was just pleased to see an interesting car. "That's the most important thing!"

Mitchell-Malm summarised: "Slightly outdated renders were made up for by a real car. Plenty of assets of it on track too.

"Just a shame we didn't get to speak to anyone ourselves - although mitigated by the typically high-quality press pack with good team personnel insight."

4 - Ferrari

presentation on new car launch

Ferrari dropped a brief launch video before putting on, in the words of Straw, "comprehensive media sessions meaning there was plenty from the technical team, Fred Vasseur and drivers to get your teeth into".

Ferrari's launch last year - which included elements of the Fiorano shakedown - topped our 2023 ranking, and as a result Mitchell-Malm called the 2024 event "a step down from last year in the sense that whatever event happened at Fiorano was a 'closed set' as it were".

presentation on new car launch

"It was a shame nothing was streamed for fans but selfishly the scales are tipped in Ferrari's favour among the 'no on-site event' launches with great access to senior figures. Shakedown assets followed, too."

Anderson actually enjoyed the year-on-year disparity, saying: "Love the contrast between 2023's almost bombastic, showy launch - with grandstands full of fans on a real circuit - with 2024's perfunctory one-minute video clip.

"No-nonsense Fred is properly running the show now."

Suttill said Ferrari's great livery -  "the use of yellow is really clever and makes the SF-24 a modern classic, visually at least" - earned it bonus points.

presentation on new car launch

Sauber held the first in-season launch with a physical car on February 5, revealing its striking new Stake identity that you just couldn't miss.

"An excellent launch event with a good live presentation for fans to watch, as well as plenty of media access to key team personnel," Straw reflected.

"The only downside is that the launch car wasn’t quite the genuine article, instead a show car largely dressed up to look like the 2024 machine."

Mitchell-Malm called it a "proper event and well organised" but so too couldn't place it any higher because the team didn't show a real car.

Suttill went a step further, placing it at number one in his rankings with the following justification: "The awful industry term 'creating a buzz' is overused but it's something Sauber genuinely managed to do with the first car sporting the Stake colours.

"The livery is the best on the grid and there were genuinely insightful interviews from technical director James Key during the launch in a digestible and engaging form.

"The London crypt was an odd setting but will likely be memorable for years to come - probably the only launch on this list that will be."

2 - Red Bull

presentation on new car launch

Red Bull makes great year-on-year gains, climbing from last in our launch rankings last year to second in 2024.

The team was celebrating 20 years of Red Bull with a launch event at Milton Keynes.

The livery may have been the same as always but the car was very different - with Mercedes cues that got everybody talking .

"A pleasant surprise that Red Bull showed a real - mostly real? - car for a change and put on a proper event, having taken the mick for a while with fake launches of clearly inauthentic cars," Mitchell-Malm said.

presentation on new car launch

Anderson rated it "10/10 because we got to see a real car and we never get to see a real car at Red Bull's launches".

Straw, who attended, praised the event, saying "a big effort was made by Red Bull with a well-produced show for fans to watch and the genuine car, albeit with some key areas not as they will be come Bahrain".

Suttill was also delighted with some "genuinely exciting technical innovations and a presentation that didn't overstay its welcome".

The investigation into Christian Horner was unavoidably a factor in Red Bull's launch. While it wasn't addressed in the live-streamed launch, he did face questions from the media about it - here's how he handled it .

presentation on new car launch

Alpine takes the top spot in our rankings with a stripped-back, well-executed launch event.

Mitchell-Malm felt it was "a great blend of everything we need from a launch. A bit of a show but nothing as ostentatious as last year".

"Lovely incorporation of another major racing programme [the WEC launch]. Real car on show, senior people speaking, well-handled in advance from a media point of view too. Worked for everyone."

The launch was "a vast improvement from last year’s disorganised" one, according to Straw. "This put 'Team Enstone' front and centre, revealed a genuine car, integrated the World Endurance Championship project and made good use of technical director Matt Harman."

presentation on new car launch

Anderson enjoyed Harman's "only the steering wheel is the same" quip, believing it was one of the best quotes of launch season.

But Suttill wasn't quite as impressed.

"All of the flamboyance of the 2023 launch was scrapped and so too some of the fun," said Suttill.

Another teaser won’t hurt 😉 pic.twitter.com/NLbxOau894 — BWT Alpine F1 Team (@AlpineF1Team) February 6, 2024

"More serious is probably what Alpine needs to convey so it's understandable but not particularly exciting.

"The alternative pink livery was a letdown and with hindsight, the social teases of a pink-er livery were frustratingly misleading."

Presentation

Toyota's technology strategy and car manufacturing direction hiroki nakajima, executive vice president and chief technology officer.

presentation on new car launch

An explanation of the "Toyota Mobility Concept" was given at the policy briefing in April. The three approaches that hold the key to its realization are electrification, intelligence, and diversification.

presentation on new car launch

In the area of electrification, we will continue to pursue a "multi-pathway approach," including the introduction of optimal powertrains for each region.

In the area of intelligence, in addition to vehicles and services, we will also promote initiatives to expand our connection with society, such as Woven City.

We will also continue to diversify our business by expanding our scope from "cars" to "society" to include freedom of mobility and diverse energy options for all.

presentation on new car launch

To promote these three themes technologically, we have been shifting resources to Advanced Development fields and actively investing in future-oriented areas since 2016, when the company system was inaugurated.

As of March 2023, we have shifted more than half of our R&D staff and approximately half of our R&D expenses to Advanced Development fields while increasing the total amount. We will further accelerate this trend in the future.

presentation on new car launch

We would like to promote car manufacturing based on three axes. The first is to pursue safety and security without compromise. We will further refine Toyota Safety Sense and deliver safe and reliable technologies to our customers. The second is that the future will be built by everyone. We will create the future by connecting with our colleagues around the world through initiatives such as CJPT's efforts to decarbonize the commercial sector, our partnership with the CP Group in Thailand, and our collaboration in motorsports. Third, we will accelerate localization. As the needs of our customers in each region will differ further in the future, we will accelerate "development near our customers" at our research and development bases around the world.

presentation on new car launch

Toyota has overcome what were thought to be difficult challenges with its technological capabilities and has developed numerous vehicles that are ahead of the times and paving the way for the future, such as the Prius, now synonymous with hybrid vehicles, and the Mirai fuel cell vehicle. Let's change the future of cars! We will continue to lead in creating a future society by using the power of technology to transport our customers into the future and connecting cars to society.

Next Generation Battery EV Strategy Takero Kato, BEV Factory President

presentation on new car launch

What we hope to achieve with BEV Factory, an organization dedicated to battery EVs launched in May, is to change the future with BEVs through the transformation of cars, manufacturing, and the way we work.

presentation on new car launch

On the vehicle axis, through technologies such as the integration of next-generation batteries and sonic technology, we will achieve a vehicle cruising range of 1,000 km. To bring more stylish design, Aerodynamic performance is supported by AI, while designers will focus on expressing natural sensibility. The Arene OS and full OTA will infinitely expand the possibilities for enjoying cars.

Like the manual EV, we will deliver exciting surprises and fun to our customers with technologies achievable only by a carmaker.

presentation on new car launch

On the manufacturing axis, the car body will be constructed from three main components in a new modular structure. Adopting giga casting will allow significant component integration, which contributes to the reduction of vehicle development costs and factory investment. In addition, self-propelling production technology will reduce the processes and plant investment by half.

presentation on new car launch

BEV Factory is an "ALL in ONE TEAM" under one leader that unifies functions and regions beyond the framework of a carmaker, including Woven by Toyota and external partners.

This ONE TEAM will revolutionize the way work is done, with everyone on the same site and with the same awareness of the issues, to achieve quick decision-making and initial response.

presentation on new car launch

We will roll out next-generation BEVs globally and as a full lineup to be launched in 2026. By 2030, 1.7 million units out of 3.5 million overall will be provided by BEV Factory.

The next-generation battery EVs will adopt new batteries, through which we are determined to become a world leader in battery EV energy consumption. With the resources we earn, we will improve our product appeal to exceed customer expectations and secure earnings.

Please look forward to a "carmaker-produced battery EV that inspires the hearts of all customers."

Hydrogen Business Strategy Mitsumasa Yamagata, Hydrogen Factory President (to be appointed on July 1, 2023)

presentation on new car launch

The hydrogen markets in Europe, China, and North America will be by far the largest in 2030, and the fuel cell market is expected to expand rapidly toward that point, reaching the level of 5 trillion yen per year. We are promoting external sales of fuel cells using the Mirai's hydrogen units and have received offers for external sales of 100,000 units by 2030. Most of them are commercial vehicles.

presentation on new car launch

To respond to the rapid changes in the market, we will establish a new organization called Hydrogen Factory in July, which will be able to make immediate decisions under one leader, from sales to development and production, all at once. The Hydrogen Factory will promote business on three axes.

The first is localizing R&D and production in countries within the major markets. We will accelerate our efforts by establishing local bases, mainly in Europe and China.

The second is strengthening alliances with leading partners. We will do our best to deliver affordable fuel cells to our customers by consolidating sufficient quantities through alliances.

The third is competitiveness and technology.

We will work on "innovative evolution of competitive next-generation FC technologies," such as next-generation cell technologies and FC systems.

presentation on new car launch

We will work toward full-scale commercialization as we move forward with these initiatives. The next-generation system will achieve a 37% cost reduction through technological progress, volume efficiency, and localization. Furthermore, in collaboration with partners, if we receive an offer for 200,000 units in 2030, we will be able to reduce the cost by 50% and generate a solid profit while meeting the expectations of our many customers and governments.

We will work together in development, production, and sales to achieve this goal.

presentation on new car launch

In addition, the price of hydrogen is still very high. In order to promote the widespread use of hydrogen, Toyota will continue to work with its partners to contribute in producing, transporting, and using hydrogen.

presentation on new car launch

We will take relationships we have built with strong partners as opportunities to accelerate our efforts to commercialize hydrogen by establishing customer-oriented bases in major markets and by offering affordable products in sufficient quantities.

Beyond Zero

"Achieving zero, and adding new value beyond it"

As part of efforts to pass our beautiful "Home Planet" to the next generation, Toyota has identified and is helping to solve issues faced by individuals and overall society, which Toyota calls "Achieving Zero," hoping to help reduce the negative impacts caused by these issues to people and the environment to zero. Additionally, Toyota is also looking "Beyond Zero" to create and provide greater value by continuing to diligently seek ways to improve lives and society for the future.

Sustainable Development Goals

Toyota Motor Corporation works to develop and manufacture innovative, safe and high-quality products and services that create happiness by providing mobility for all. We believe that true achievement comes from supporting our customers, partners, employees, and the communities in which we operate. Since our founding over 80 years ago in 1937, we have applied our Guiding Principles in pursuit of a safer, greener and more inclusive society. Today, as we transform into a mobility company developing connected, automated, shared and electrified technologies, we also remain true to our Guiding Principles and many of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals to help realize an ever-better world, where everyone is free to move.

Launching a New Car: Project Presentation

Project objectives/scope.

Project description:

  • Designing a new car with autopilot feature and an improved engine;
  • Introducing the finished product into the global market.

Automotive industry in the 21st century:

  • Toyota: innovative solutions, improved technical characteristics;
  • Tesla: environmentally safe e-cars;
  • Recent increase in the success of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) (“Global automotive executive survey 2017,” 2017).

The project is aimed at launching a new car into the global automotive market. The car is going to have a range of features including an improved engine and autopilot features. Therefore, despite the impressive competition from BEVs, it is bound to be a success.

Project Objectives/Scope

Project Charter

Project objectives:

  • Global car market exploration and trends identification;
  • Brand image and branding strategy design;
  • Creating a marketing approach and building a competitive advantage.

Project scope statement:

  • Objective: introducing a new car into the global market;
  • Deliverables: 0.1% of the market share or more;
  • Milestones:

The project implies the design and the further promotion of a new car with autopilot functions and an improved engine in the global market. To complete the said objectives, one will have to research the target market, create the product, and brand it appropriately. The project is expected to be finished by August 31, 2017.

The product will come in three colors and 13 models. The project will require the financial backing of $100,000. The expected market share is 0.1%.

Project Charter

Stakeholders’ Analysis

Stakeholders of the project include Project Developers (creating the car). Managers (directing the project). Suppliers (providing raw materials), Distributors (delivering the product to the end customer), Investors (supporting the project financially), Customers (purchasing the cars), and Shareholders (governing the project).

Stakeholders’ Analysis

Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)

  • Project outline: determining the key steps;
  • Leadership strategy creation: focusing on the transformational approach;
  • Product design: defining the features of the car;
  • Technology improvement: introducing the latest IT tools;
  • Target market research: identifying the key competitors;
  • Financial strategy development: introducing the principles of sustainability and lean management;
  • Risk management strategy development: using the available resources;
  • Exit strategy identification: a merger as a possibility;
  • Communication strategy development: cooperation as the priority;
  • Marketing campaign: incorporating the latest tools;
  • Promotion campaign: a unique brand image;
  • Product distribution: traditional distribution model.

It is crucial that the project should include the stages that involve the leadership strategy, as well as the focus on the product design. With a proper leadership framework, one will be able to keep the participants motivated. Furthermore, it will be necessary to focus on incorporating the latest technology and setting the quality standards high. The identified processes should be carried out along with the exploration of the target market. As soon as the crucial risks are identified, the marketing campaign should be carried out, with the following distribution of the product.

Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)

Project Plan/Network

The project network implies that the required steps will have to be accomplished in the following order:

  • Product outline (car design, incorporation of innovative techniques, etc.);
  • Leadership strategy design (preferably with the focus on the transformational leadership approach);
  • Quality management (active use of the Six Sigma tools (particularly, DMAIC) and the Total Quality Management (TQM) framework) (Pyzdek & Keller, 2014);
  • Procurement strategy design (with the emphasis on reducing time and costs during the delivery processes);
  • Market analysis (a more detailed examination of the competitors, their advantages, and how they can be beaten in the context of the global market);
  • Financial strategy design and risk management tools identification;
  • Marketing and promotion, which are followed b product distribution (Larson & Gray, 2011).

Project Plan/Network

Reducing Project Duration

  • Increase of repeatability and reproducibility rates among the participants;
  • Earned Duration Management as the essential tool;
  • Enhancing information management among the key stakeholders (particularly, executives, managers, and suppliers).

The project incorporates all major tools for cutting the time taken to complete it.For instance, the emphasis on improving the repeatability and reproducibility of the production processes needs to be mentioned. The identified strategies serve as the means of bringing down the number of defects made during the production. Consequently, the project duration drops, whereas the quality of the product rises.

It is also noteworthy that the project includes the Earned Duration Management (EDM) framework as the device for reducing time significantly. EDM helps eliminate the financial data from the scheduling process, thus, making it less convoluted (Marquez & Lev, 2016). Finally, the focus on an improved data management needs to be listed among the key techniques.

Reducing Project Duration

Project Communication Plan

Internal communication.

  • Weekly meetings;
  • Organizational support

External Communication

  • Online surveys;
  • Online chats.

In order to maintain consistent communication between the managers and the employees, one should consider active use of reports and e-mail. Furthermore, to make sure that the staff’s requests are heard and taken into account, the project should have an intranet for corporate communication Weekly meetings will help communicate the key roles and responsibilities to the staff.

External communication (i.e., the conversation with customers) will be supported with the help of e-mails, blogs/vlogs, and online surveys. The latter are especially important as the means of gathering feedback from the target population. In addition, a hotline and online chats will be used to respond to the clients’ requests immediately (Laasch & Conaway, 2014).

Project Communication Plan

Assumptions, Exclusions, Dependencies, and Other Major Issues

Assumptions, exclusions, and dependencies.

  • It is assumed that the members of the project will deliver the performance of the required quality;
  • It has been calculated that the project budget will be enough for completing the objectives;
  • The time frame should be viewed as the key constraint;
  • The Start-to-Finish framework will be deployed.

How They Have Been Handled

  • Transformational leadership was used to enhance motivation and performance levels among the participants;
  • An efficient strategy for addressing the financial risks based on the principles of sustainability was utilized;
  • An elaborate schedule was designed.

It is believed that the performance of the people involved in the project will meet the required standards due to the usage of the transformational Leadership framework. The budget of $100,000 is also considered to be enough to complete the said goals. The time issue will have to be addressed appropriately so that the project should meet the deadlines. With the help of the Start-to-Finish framework, one will be able to carry out the necessary steps properly (Chatfield & Johnson, 2013).

Assumptions, Exclusions, Dependencies, and Other Major Issues

Scope, Time and Cost Constraints

  • Introducing a new car into the global market;
  • Gaining new customers.
  • Several months for project development;
  • Significant time constraints may lead to quality issues.
  • The budget does not allow for numerous expenses to be taken;
  • The principles of lean production and sustainability may help address the cost issues.

The scope can be deemed as an important constraint since it the objectives revolve primarily around gaining new audience as opposed to keeping them invested.

As stressed above, the project is restricted significantly as far as the time is concerned. Particularly, it is necessary to deliver the product to the target customers before the competitors come up with a similar concept (i.e., within the next few months). Furthermore, the a number of expenses that the participants can afford is rather limited, which means that the support of investors may be required.

Scope, Time and Cost Constraints

Project Lessons Learned

  • Flexible leadership strategy;
  • Efficient conflict management approach;
  • Using compromise-based negotiation strategies;
  • Focusing on innovation;
  • Enhancing communication as the key to success;
  • Encouraging the participants to acquire new knowledge and skills.

The project has shown that it is crucial to be a good leader that convinces the staff members to use conflicts as the source of sensible solutions to the problems. Furthermore, the significance of innovation as the basis for success needs to be mentioned. Finally, the quality of communication defines the efficacy of the participants’ performance, as the project shows.

Project Lessons Learned

Use of Lessons Learned for the Future

  • Promoting change and improvement as the basis for the project development and implementation;
  • Detailing the significance of communication and cooperation to the people involved in the project;
  • Creating an efficient strategy for improving the team members’ competencies.

The implications of the project indicate that the organizational behavior of the team members and the choice of the leadership strategy play a significant part in the overall outcome. Therefore, it is essential to make sure that the proper leadership approach is used to reinforce the communication process and encourage the participants to share the available information. Moreover, the team members must feel inclined to acquire new skills and knowledge and use them to advance the project. Thus, an impressive success can be expected, and the foundation for the further accomplishments will be set.

Use of Lessons Learned for the Future

Project Documentation

  • Using intranet as the means of transferring and collecting the relevant information;
  • Recording the crucial events with the help of the electronic tools;
  • Making the staff members submit reports detailing the actions taken in the course of the project on a daily basis.

All important steps of the project must be documented properly. Corporate databases will be used to store the crucial data, whereas the organization’s intranet will be utilized to transfer and collect it. Finally, reports submitted by the staff members on a daily basis will serve as the source of crucial information.

Project Documentation

  • High-level timing goals;
  • Relationship to other projects;
  • Ultimate goal of project.

The project closure includes setting the premises for a follow-up project.

VW Scirocco set for revival as a stylish EV sports car with Porsche Boxster features

Avatar for Peter Johnson

Volkswagen looks to launch a sleek electric sports car based on the iconic Scirocco coupe. The VW Scirocco EV sports car is poised to adopt a unique platform designed for the upcoming electric Porsche Boxster.

The first VW Scirocco was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 1974. Designed by Giorgio Giugiaro, known for his work on the first Golf, the 2+2 seater was the first VW badged coupe with FWD.

Volkswagen claims thanks to FWD, the Scirocco blazer a path for an affordable, fuel-efficient sports car.

The top GTI trim, introduced in 1976, featured 108 hp (81 kW) and a larger front spoiler. A GLi version offered a luxury take on the sporty coupe. Over 500,000 models were sold globally up until 1981.

In 1981, the Scirocco II began rolling out. It was based on the Golf 1 platform, extending the car’s length and providing more interior space with softer overall design lines.

Over 795,000 models were sold over 18 years, with production ending in September 1992. VW pulled the plug as the Scirocco competed with the better-selling Golf. However, in 2008, VW launched the third-generation model with major upgrades and more power in a mid-2014 update.

VW-Scirocco-EV

VW Scirocco set for comeback as a sporty EV coupe

It looks like the Scirocco will make another comeback, this time as an all-electric sports car. The VW Scirocco EV is part of a four-way electric sports car project that includes the Porsche Boxster/Cayman, Audi TT, and Cupra Dark Rebel, a “high-ranking insider” told Autocar .

The new electric sports car will sit above VW’s next-gen ID.3 , which is poised to wear the iconic Golf badge.

Volkswagen's-electric-Golf-ID.3

VW’s chief tech officer, Kai Grunitz, said the upcoming electric Golf will sit on the new SSP platform. Meanwhile, an adapted version of the PPE platform, designed for the electric Porsche Boxster, will underpin the VW Scirocco EV.

Full details have yet to be announced, but the report notes VW will likely offer several powertrain and trim options, including single-motor RWD and dual-motor AWD.

Porsche-2025-Taycan

Like the J1 powering the Porsche Taycan and Audi E-tron GT, the platform will provide a low-riding sporty silhouette.

Rumors suggest VW has designed the battery within the center tunnel, behind the cabin, in a Boxster-like layout.

Porsche debuted the idea with its e-core layout in the Mission X concept . The layout “enables a low, driver-optimized seating position,” according to Porsche. It also helps center the vehicle’s weight for better agility – a key element for sports cars.

Porsche-Mission-X-EV

Designed for the Porsche Boxster’s convertible design, the platform is claimed to offer “extreme stiffness,” leading Audi to develop an electric TT.

Although nothing is set in stone, the base VW Scirocco EV is expected to feature around 300 hp, while the AWD version will pack over 400 hp. The dual-motor version could serve as a successor to the Scirocco R sold until 2017.

I love that they're looking at this. One way to expand EV appeal is to expand the number of bodystyles they're available in. And there are VERY few sporty coupes anymore.

Initial designs were developed early last year as Adreas Mindt took over as head designer. Mindt, a former Bentley designer, mentioned the first Scirocco after unveiling plans for VW’s next-gen models.

Mindt claims the “Scirocco was among the first cars to use a sharp and low line to visually enhance the car.” The design “trick” results in more power and sporty style. “That’s the secret sauce that makes a car desirable, a stylish car that everyone wants to drive,” Mindt explained.

According to the source, the VW Scirocco EV will likely be launched by 2028. It’s just awaiting the green light from VW brand CEO Thomas Shafer.

Max Verstappen praised his Red Bull team's "bold" and "aggressive" approach as the reigning Formula 1 world champions revealed their 2024 challenger.

Red Bull delivered the most dominant season in the sport's history in 2023, winning 21 out of 22 races as Verstappen romped to a third successive drivers' title.

The team will begin 2024 as clear favourites with the same regulations remaining in place, but according to Verstappen, have looked to push the needle once more with the design of their RB20, which was revealed at the team's Milton Keynes factory on Thursday.

"I do like what the team has done," the Dutchman told Sky Sports News . "It's not a conservative car. It's not like, 'last year was a great car, we'll just add a few bits and try to make it a little bit faster'.

"I do think they've been quite bold and that's what I like. They've been quite aggressive.

presentation on new car launch

"Everyone is very positive, everyone is very motivated and I'm just very excited to learn more about the car."

Verstappen's team-mate Sergio Perez is likely to remain the focus of much speculation as he enters the final year of his deal with Red Bull.

The Mexican matched Verstappen by taking two victories in the first four races of last season, but was unable to sustain his form during a slump that lasted for most of the campaign.

"It doesn't bother me. I think it's part of the job. I'm out of contract for next year, people know about it," Perez said.

"But to be honest, that's not the priority. I know that if we have a good season, we have good results there will be plenty of options out there.

"So my main focus is to get that consistency throughout the season, that development to be able to really carry on the form that we start with and be better race by race.

"I think we are able to do that, we have a really good chance of fighting for the championship."

Red Bull RB20

Horner attends launch amid ongoing investigation

The build-up to Red Bull's title defence and 20th season in the sport has been overshadowed by allegations of inappropriate behaviour being made against team principal Christian Horner.

The 50-year-old spoke to the media at Thursday's launch for the first time since the F1 team's Austrian parent company confirmed an independent investigation into the allegations.

After reiterating his total denial of the allegations and insisting it was "business as usual" at Red Bull, Horner echoed Verstappen's assessment of his team's new car.

"You can never stand still in this business and of course, our opposition have got a lot of motivation to go and beat us," Horner told Sky Sports News .

"So we've taken all the lessons from RB19 and looked to apply them into 20 and I think the team have done an amazing job in what looks like an aggressive evolution of what was the most successful car of all time."

The design of the RB20, overseen by chief technical officer Adrian Newey, features even more dramatic cuts to its sidepods than the RB19 possessed.

While the design looks futuristic, the livery retains the team's trademark dark blue, yellow and red seen throughout their time in F1.

How do Red Bull, Verstappen improve on near-perfection - and a big year for Perez

Having ended Mercedes' dominance of the sport following the change of technical regulations in 2022, Red Bull moved into a different realm of domination last year with the RB19 proving to be the most successful car in the sport's history in terms of the number and percentage of races won in a season.

Only the Singapore GP in September, won by Ferrari, escaped the team in the 22-race campaign as they came as close as anyone since McLaren in 1988 (when there were only 16 races) to achieving F1's first-ever invincible season.

Nineteen of their 21 wins were achieved by Verstappen with the Dutchman harnessing the superiority of Red Bull's car to stunning effect, setting a new record of 10 wins in a row and clinching his third successive title in the Qatar Sprint in October with a record-equalling six Grands Prix remaining.

Max Verstappen RB20 launch

2024 now presents Verstappen, entering his 10th season of F1 but still only 26 years of age, with the opportunity to become only the sixth driver to win at least four world titles and just the fifth after Juan-Manuel Fangio, Michael Schumacher, Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton to string a quadruple of successes together.

But, despite the dominant machinery at his disposal, 2023 was a very different story for Perez.

An impressive start to the year for the Mexican driver, when he shared the wins with Verstappen across the opening four rounds, gave way to an increasing struggle for pace and confidence in the RB19 as he fell further away from his team-mate and instead into the clutches of the chasing pack and a fight to keep hold of second place in the standings.

Sergio Perez RB20 launch

After some alarming slumps in form, particularly in qualifying, Perez eventually secured Red Bull their first-ever Drivers' Championship one-two thanks to a steadier end to the campaign, but clearly remains under pressure into 2024 in what is currently the final year of his Red Bull contract.

In-house alternatives at the sister RB team, Daniel Ricciardo and Yuki Tsunoda, along with former Red Bull-backed drivers such as Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz could be in the running to replace Perez should the 34-year-old not be granted a contract renewal.

When is F1 pre-season testing?

Pre-season testing takes place from Wednesday February 21 to Friday February 23 at the Bahrain International Circuit with just three days for the teams to get prepared for the new season.

When is the first F1 race?

Just one week later, the opening race of the 2024 season will begin with the Bahrain Grand Prix from February 29 to March 2.

Due to the Muslim holy period of Ramadan, the Bahrain and, seven days later, the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, will be held on a Saturday.

This means practice one and two will take place on Thursdays, with final practice and qualifying on Fridays.
