Digital posters (or e-posters) also open the door to countless design options, some of which are more effective than others. To help us navigate this new medium, we’ll introduce three types of digital posters: the “ traditional ,” the “ Harry Potter style ,” and the “ Inception style ” posters. Just like a printed poster, a digital poster is a visual aid to help you share your technical work at a poster session. The main difference is that a digital poster allows you to include dynamic content. For instance, you can embed multimedia files (GIF files, videos with audio, etc.) as well as control what information is shown throughout your presentation (using zooms and transitions).

With a similar (but simpler) model in mind, the “ Inception style” poster contains multiple panels of information, each one offering new, specific insights into your technical narrative, and includes embedded links to transition in between panels. Of the three types of digital posters, this option is the most involved and requires more thoughtful design.

Don’t include too much content. This is true for all posters, especially the “ Inception style” ones. Although you suddenly have more room for lots of additional details, be sure to use that space strategically to keep your audience engaged in your discussion.

Don’t use dynamic content that may distract from the discussion. Too many zooms and animations can become visual noise and compete with your pitch for your audience’s attention. Only include content that contributes meaningfully to the discussion, and also plan when it will (or will not) play.

Don’t use too many panels. If you do, your audience could get lost in the details and miss your main message. It would also make it hard for new audience members to join the discussion.

Don’t treat your panels as presentation slides. When you present, these notes will be visible to you alone. This is especially useful when delivering presentations remotely over the web. If you’re going to read a word-for-word script, be sure to add some inflection and natural pauses to avoid sounding robotic.

Keep it simple

Keep the amount of information you give the prospect down to a few important things. Don’t burry the resources they need to see with lots of little insignificant things. Don’t get bogged down in feature explanations. Keep things brief and high-level. If you have to ask yourself if you should cut a section, the answer is yes.

Avoid animations (unless they’re custom)

As a general rule, when animations in presentations are good, they’re really good. When they’re bad, though, they’re really bad. I have seen some beautiful animations done in PowerPoint for large-scale conference presentations. Important note: they were created by a trained graphic designer with weeks of prep time and years of experience.

If you don’t have time or expertise to make your animations great, keep them simple and minimal. Or avoid them altogether. The animation presets in modern presentation tools are guaranteed to make your content look cheap.

The occasional fade-in can be tasteful. But beyond that, it’s probably wise to stay away from any distracting spins, swipes, or bounces.

Rehearse on your target machine

This tip is more about technology than technique. I can’t count how many times I’ve been in the audience of a presentation where the presenter advances to a broken or unformatted slide. “Whoa,” they say. “That’s so weird. That worked on my computer.”

Perhaps you’ve experienced the same thing. It’s definitely not something you want your prospect experiencing as they’re forming their opinion of your brand.

So, if you’re building a presentation on your home PC to transfer to your work laptop, make sure you test it on your work laptop before unveiling to the world. It seems obvious, but it takes mere minutes to troubleshoot and could save you a sale and a stressful situation.

Start with a template

A great way to ensure aesthetic consistency and alignment is a custom template. One that’s designed with your organization’s branding. If you don’t have an in-house designer, there will be an initial investment. But it’s well worth it considering it may be the first impression a prospect gets of your brand. Slide Master consists of two placeholders :

A digital presentation is a process of expressing your ideas to audience using digital tools.

A Presentation includes :

  • To present the project proposal in business organisations.
  • In teaching and training.
  • Machine parts and operation of various machines can be easily shown.

What is Impress?

Impress is one of the important components of LibreOffice suite. It is free, open source. The presentation created in LibreOffice Impress can be opened in other presentation software like MS PowerPoint.

Examples of Presentation Software : MS-Office 365 PowerPoint, Google Presentation or Microsoft SkyDrive PowerPoint.

Characteristics of a good quality presentation :

  • Number of lines: On one page or slide try to include 5 to 8 lines.
  • Font-size : We should select an appropriate font-size depending upon the room size, distance between the screen and the audience.
  • Correct use of grammar and language: We should present the contents error free in terms of grammar, spellings of language by reading the slides carefully.
  • Inserting images, drawings, tables or graphs: We should try to avoid inserting more than two graphics (images, drawings, tables or charts) in any slide.
  • Use of colours: We should try to use dark colours, bold letters with different fonts to highlight certain points.
  • Animation and videos: We should not include more than one animation or video in one slide.
  • Pay attention to target group: We should focus on the contents, sequence of the topics in such a way that it makes a flow to attract the attention of the audience.

Starting LibreOffice Impress :

To start LibreOffice Impress in Windows, double click its shortcut icon on the desktop. Or click on the Start or Windows button, select LibreOffice → LibreOffice Impress from application window.

In Ubuntu Linux, open the LibreOffice Impress by any of the following options.

  • Find the LibreOffice Impress icon on the application launcher, and click it to start the application.
  • Find the LibreOffice Impress icon through “Show Applications” icon on the launcher.

Various parts/components of the Impress application window :

A. Title bar: It contains the name of presentation file with extension (.odp) and presentation application as LibreOffice Impress. It is always of the top of the LibreOffice Impress title bar window.

B. Menu Bar: It contains the menus with logically grouped commands. The various menus are as under:

  • Slideshow etc.

C. Toolbars: There are various toolbar to manage GUI of Impress.

  • Standard toolbar
  • Master Pages
  • Layout etc.

Closing LibreOffice Impress :

To close the Impress application directly, select the manipulation button Close (×), or select the File Menu→Exit command or use the keyboard shortcut Alt+F4 or Ctrl+Q.

Creating a presentation using template :

  • To create a new blank presentation, select the File Menu→New or click on the icon New or use the combination of keys Ctrl+N.
  • A window ‘Select a Template’ will appear. Choose a template as per your choice.
  • Prepare your presentation using template. The selected template appears in the form of title slide layout.
  • You can also select a slide layout by using menu, Slide → Slide Layout → Title slide.
  • Adding text: To add text to a slide that,contains a text frame, click on Click to add text in the text frame and then type your text.

Saving a presentation:

Select the File Menu ¨Save, or, use the shortcut key combination Ctrl+S, or click on the Save button on the Standard Toolbar. This will open the Save dialog box which allows to select the location on the disk and assign the name to save the presentation.

Saving a presentation with different name :

To save the presentation with a different name, select File→ Save As or, use the shortcut key combination Shift+Ctrl+S. In Save As dialog box, a new file name can be entered and finally click on save button.

Saving with a different format:

By default the presentation is saved with .odp extension. To save a presentation as another file type, select File→Save As. In the Save As dialog box, click on the All Formats drop-down menu and select the choice from the offered programs.

Saving a presentation as HTML:

To publish the presentation on the web, save it in HTML format, which could be opened in any web browser. To save the presentation as html:

  • Click on File → Export
  • Select the directory in which you want to save the file
  • Enter a file name

Save a file in PDF format:

A Portable Document Format (PDF) of the presentation can be created by saving a file in the PDF format. To save a file in the PDF format:

  • Click on File → Export as PDF
  • Select the directory in which you wish to save the file

Closing a presentation :

To close a presentation, select File Menu→ Close or use the keyboard shortcut keys Ctrl+W.

Open a presentation :

To open a presentation, select File→Open command, or, use the keyboard shortcut keys Ctrl+O. It will open the Open dialog box. Specify the location of the file that is to be opened and click on Open button.

Running a slide show :

To run the slide show, click Slide Show→Start from First Slide on the main menu bar or Click the Slide Show icon on the Presentation toolbar or the Slide Sorter toolbar or Press F5 from the keyboard.

Working with slides :

Inserting a duplicate slide :

Inserting a duplicate slide will insert the copy of the existing or current slide into the presentation. Steps to insert a duplicate slides are :

Select the slide you want to duplicate from the Slides Pane and choose any one of the following :

  • Select from menu bar Slide → Duplicate Slide.
  • Or, right-click on the slide and select Duplicate Slide from the menu.
  • Or, right-click on a slide in Workspace and select Slide → Duplicate Slide from the menu.
  • Or, click the Duplicate Slide icon in the Presentation toolbar.

Inserting new slides :

To insert a new slide, use any of the following way.

  • Select from menu bar Slide → New Slide.
  • Or, right-click on a slide and select New Slide from the context menu.
  • Or, right-click in an empty space in the Workspace and select Slide → New Slide from the context menu.
  • Or, click the New Slide icon in the Presentation toolbar.
  • Or, use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+M

Copying and moving slides :

The slides once created can be reused within the presentation or in another presentation. To move the slide to another location use cut and paste process. To copy the slide, use the process of copy and paste. Cut, Copy and Paste operations can also be performed by the combination of keys: (i) Cut – Ctrl + X (ii) Copy – Ctrl + C (iii) Paste – Ctrl + V

Deleting slides : Steps to delete slides are :

  • Select the slide(s) by marking them in the Slide Pane.
  • Right click the mouse button and click on delete.

Select the slide and press the Delete button from the keyboard.

Renaming a slide : The slides are named as slide1, slide2,… by default. To rename a slide:

  • Select the slide.
  • Right click and select the rename slide option in the context menu.
  • A Rename Slide dialog box will appear where you can assign the new name to the slide.

Copying, moving and deleting content :

To copy or move some text or an object in the presentation to another location, it is necessary to first select the text. Steps are :

  • Select the text.
  • Right click and select the Copy option from the context menu for copying or Cut option to cut.
  • Position the cursor on the location and right click and select the Paste option.

Deleting the text :

The delete and backspace button on keyboard is used to delete the text. The delete key deletes the character on the right of the cursor, and the backspace button deletes the character on the left of the cursor. To delete the line or paragraph of text, first select the text and then press the delete key.

Undo and redo the changes :

When we execute a command on some text, for example delete the text, we are able to reverse what we have done. This is known as the undo function . It is also possible after having undone the change, get it back. This is called the redo function . Shortcut keys Ctrl + Z is used for Undo and Ctrl + Y is used for Redo.

Workspace view :

The various workspace views are in the drop-down list of the View menu. These views are Normal, Outline, Notes, Slide Sorter, Slide Master, Notes Master, Handout Master.

1. Normal view: It is the main view for working with individual slides. This view is used to format and design and to add text, graphics, and animation effects.

2. Outline view : It contains all the slides of the presentation in a sequence. It shows each slide in the outline format. Only the text contained in each slide is displayed inside the Workspace.

3. Notes view : It is used to add notes to a slide for the information of presenter. It is not seen by the audience while showing the presentation.

4. Slide Sorter view : It contains all the slide thumbnails. It is suitable for rearranging the slide order by using ‘drag and drop’ method.

Formatting Text

The contents of the slides can be formatted in various ways. The most common way is to use the formatting icons on the Formatting toolbar. Another way is by selecting Format→Text from the menu bar. The various formatting options are :

A Table can be inserted from the Insert menu by selecting Insert→Table or by selecting the Table icon on the Standard toolbar . In the Insert Table dialog box, specify the number of columns and the number of rows and click on OK button.

Entering and editing data in a table :

The content can be put in a table by placing the insertion point in a cell. The insertion point in a table can be done in three ways:

  • by pressing the left mouse button.
  • by pressing the TAB key on a keyboard.
  • by using arrow keys on the keyboard.

Selecting a cell : To select a cell within a table, position the mouse cursor along its left edge, and when the cursor changes to a sloped white arrow, press right mouse button.

Selecting a row/column : To select a row or column in a table, position the mouse cursor along left edge of row or column to select, and when the mouse cursor changes to a sloped white arrow press the left mouse button and drag it to the end of the row or column.

Selecting a table : To select an entire table, first click on its edge. When the mouse cursor changes to a sloped white arrow, click on the left mouse button.

Adjusting column width and row height using the mouse : To change the width of the column, position on the border line between the two columns, and when the cursor changes to a (↔) sign, drag it to the desired width. The same can be done for adjusting the row height.

Table borders and background : Right click on the table border, the Table Properties dialog box will open, from where you can change the borders and background of the table.

Deleting a table : Click on the table border to select the table and press the Delete key.

Adding images :

Images can be inserted from the gallery, files stored in the computer.

Inserting an image from a file :

Select Insert → Image on the menu bar or, click on the Insert Image icon located on the standard toolbar. The Insert Image dialog opens. Select the image and click on open button.

Inserting an image from the gallery :

  • Select Insert → Media → Gallery from the menu.
  • Select a theme.
  • Click on the image and drag it onto the workspace.

Formatting images

Formatting an image includes moving, resizing, rotating an image.

Moving images : Click on an image and drag it to the desired position.

Resizing images : Select the image by clicking and selection handles displayed. Position the cursor over one of the selection handles. Click and drag to resize the image

Rotating images : Select the image by clicking. Click the Rotate icon on the Line and Filling toolbar. Click again on the selected image and the selection handles change shape and colour. Click the mouse and move in the direction in which you want to rotate the image.

Formatting using the Image toolbar :

When an image is selected, the Image toolbar becomes available under the Properties window as shown. The Image toolbar can also be displayed by selecting View → Toolbars→Image from the menu bar.

Drawing tools :

Impress provides various drawing tools. To activate Drawing toolbar, select View → Toolbars →Drawing from the main menu bar.

Grouping objects :

A group formed by grouping the objects, can be formatted as a single object, moved, rotated, deleted. To group objects together:

  • Select the objects to be grouped by clicking on selection tool from Drawing toolbar and draw a rectangle around the objects. To select all the objects, go to Edit → Select All or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+A.
  • Click on Format→Group or use the keyboard combination Ctrl+Shift+G or right-click on an object within the selected group and select Group from the context menu.

Ungrouping objects :

To ungroup objects follow the below given procedure:

  • Select the group by clicking on any one of the objects in the group.
  • Click on Format →Group → Ungroup on the menu bar or use the keyboard combination Ctrl+Alt+Shift+G or right-click on the group and select Ungroup from the context menu.

Working with Slide Masters :

Impress comes with various slide masters. These slide masters are available in the Master Pages section of the Sidebar. There are three subsections, namely Used in this Presentation, Recently Used, and Available for Use.

Adding transitions :

  • In the Sidebar, select the Slide Transition icon to open the Slide Transition section.
  • In the Slides pane or Slide Sorter view, select the slides to apply the transition.
  • Select a transition.
  • Modify the selected transition by changing the speed or adding a sound.
  • Select how to advance to the next slide: manually (By mouse click) or automatically (Automatically after).
  • To apply transition to all slides, click Apply to All Slides.

Anime Is Going Digital. Fans Are Wary.

As the industry continues to embrace computer-generated work, some audiences struggle to accept the change.

The filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki, a founder of the animation house Studio Ghibli, is one of the last practitioners of hand-drawn animation. His new coming-of-age fantasy, “ The Boy and the Heron ,” has been praised for a style that seems like a relic from the past. The IndieWire critic David Ehrlich called it “among the most beautiful movies ever drawn ,” a much-needed salve “after a decade of ‘Minions’”; it’s also a likely Oscar contender.

But while much of “The Boy and the Heron” was illustrated with pencil and paint on paper, the movie — like virtually every modern anime film — makes extensive use of computer animation, including digital compositing and visual effects. The classical, naturalistic style of the film does not call attention to such techniques, though they were a fundamental part of its design and production. They’re most evident in small flourishes: the vibrant flicker of a flame, the swirling flight of an arrow.

Atsushi Okui, director of animation photography on “The Boy and the Heron” and a longtime Studio Ghibli cinematographer, said in an interview that the studio regards C.G.I. as “a complementary tool in graphic production that puts hand-drawn 2-D animation as its principal axis.”

Many recent high-profile anime movies have embraced computer-generated work more blatantly, in some cases forgoing the 2-D style entirely. “ The First Slam Dunk ,” released in the United States in July, and “ Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero ” (2022) were animated in a style known as 3DCG anime, which combines the hard outlines and flat planes of traditional 2-D animation with 3-D models and movement. The result looks a bit like a video game. These are extreme cases of a shift that’s been occurring industrywide. In different ways and to varying degrees, all anime has been going digital.

The transition has been a box office success: “The First Slam Dunk” ($152 million and counting) and “Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero” ($86 million) have been incredibly lucrative for Toei Animation, and both are among the highest-grossing anime titles of all time.

But hard-core fans — a fickle bunch — have not been as easy to please. To them, the rise of digital stirs passionate debate. Message boards are rife with complaints about the look of computer-generated animation and 3DCG in particular; on YouTube, videos highlighting especially flagrant instances of bad visuals rack up millions of views. The writer Callum May addressed the topic in an article for the Anime News Network, with the headline “ Why Do We Hate 3DCG Anime? ”

“Fans often balk at any announcement that a show will be produced in 3-D, especially when it’s from an established franchise,” May said in an interview. “The gap between good and bad C.G. anime is wide, and fans can spot mediocre 3-D animation easily thanks to having seen decades of top-range American 3-D films.”

Some 3-D anime has fared better with fans. The series “ Beastars ” and “ Land of the Lustrous ,” from the studio Orange, have won acclaim for their innovative style and visual effects, and tend to be admired even by skeptics.

But these are exceptions. Rayna Denison, a film professor at the University of Bristol in Britain and the author of the book “Anime: A Critical Introduction,” said that the aversion may have to do with the art form’s roots. “A lot of anime is based on manga, which is a 2-D medium,” she said. “Anime takes these flat images and allows them to move. That’s very different than presenting a 3-D model of a character that you know as 2-D.”

Perhaps, she continued, it may just be a case of resistance to the new. Anime fans have for decades been “very familiar with anime aesthetically and stylistically, and when you change that it becomes quite jarring.”

Of course, the use of computers in the production of anime isn’t a new phenomenon: Animators have been integrating their hand-drawn visuals with digital effects since the early 1980s, when rudimentary C.G.I. was used to help bring to life models that would have been too complex to illustrate by pen and paper. In “Golgo 13: The Professional” (1983), computer-generated helicopters fly through a 3-D cityscape in a lengthy action sequence. Though the blocky, awkward-looking choppers are extremely dated by today’s standards, they added a flourish of spectacle that simply would not have been feasible by traditional means.

“The style has evolved a lot, but in some ways ‘Golgo 13’ had it right,” May said. “C.G. is still most commonly used when the creators want to feature a mechanical vehicle, which is something most 2-D animators don’t have the training to do, or when they want the camera to fly through an environment, because 2-D-animated backgrounds are very labor intensive.”

In other words, the limitations of hand-drawn animation are much the same as in 1983 but the technology is far more advanced. The 3DCG approach is ideal for stories that feature complex machinery or adventures across sweeping landscapes. It’s also well suited to the explosive kung fu battles of “Dragon Ball Super” and the propulsive basketball action of “Slam Dunk.”

“Once you have C.G.I. you get much more dynamic camera movements,” Denison said. “It’s created a much more exciting action landscape for anime.”

In this way, C.G.I. is basically another element in an animator’s tool kit, a way to expand what’s possible onscreen. More practically, it also cuts costs. Creating visuals on a computer is usually much faster and cheaper than creating one painstaking frame at a time by hand.

“I feel like the large insurgence of 3-D anime comes from the dream of an easier production,” said Austin Hardwicke, a 3-D animator who specializes in anime that is heavy on digital effects. In part, that’s because it’s easier to maintain consistent quality. “Thanks to the enormous video game industry, there are hands available across the globe, making it easy to scale a team up or down at will. And it’s famously difficult for veteran 2-D animators to teach junior animators up to their level, but 3-D animation is infinitely easier to teach.”

Hardwicke, who has worked on the 3DCG series “ Trigun: Stampede ” and “ Godzilla: Singular Point ,” said that those and other reasons can make switching to digital so enticing that studios often overlook problems. While there is nothing inherently wrong with digital effects, they “can look out of place, ugly or like a cost-cutting measure,” he added. In short, when anime fans see C.G., many are inevitably skeptical because the poor precedents seem to thwart the hope that it might be good: “Visible C.G. in anime can be seen as a bellwether that the show will be bad in general.”

Okui, the cinematographer, said that Studio Ghibli regards it as “unavoidable that the tools are shifting from paper and pencil and paint to digital tools” in modern anime. But, he added, “I would hope that in Japan the shift will not occur so completely.” As the masters of the classical style like Miyazaki age out — he is 82 — it’s up to a new generation of animators to carry the mantle. “We can’t continue this way unless we have capable animators,” Okui said, “for which training people is the key.”

LG’s 2024 OLED M4 takes AI processing to new heights ahead of CES

With its new QNED televisions and accompanying range of new soundbars having already made their pre-CES appearances, LG now turns to the big guns — its 2024 OLED TV lineup. Basically, just take what made its 2023 models so great and add some more superlatives: Bigger (or smaller, actually, but we’ll get to that.) Brighter. Faster. More powerful.

And still wireless.

Let’s start with the powerful bit. The LG Signature OLED M4 and OLED G4 now sport α 11 (that’s pronounced “alpha eleven”) processors, which LG says will result in a 70% boost in graphics performance, and up to 30% faster processing speeds. LG also is calling it the “α 11 AI” processor because AI must be included in all the things these days. In addition to making your the OLED TV do something more than just be a large, black rectangle in your living room, all that processing is used to try to make the picture better. That’s not worth ignoring in this age of overly compressed streaming video, particularly when it comes to live, linear TV.

And it does all that pixel by pixel, LG says. Not just by looking at the totality of the picture, or even a limited number of zones on the screen, but every single dot, “utilizing precise pixel-level image analysis to effectively sharpen objects and backgrounds that may appear blurry.” And who wouldn’t want that?

Things get a little squishy from there. We’ll just let LG say things in its own words. (And you’ll understand why after you read them.) “All driven by the discerning judgment of the AI itself, delivering a more clear and vibrant viewing experience. Moreover, the ingenious AI processor adeptly refines colors by analyzing frequently used shades that best convey the mood and emotional elements intended by filmmakers and content creators.”

OK, then. So the real-time processing is going to make you feel all the things, apparently — so much so that LG says it’ll make things look more three-dimensional thanks to “Dynamic Tone Mapping Pro.”

What about the TVs themselves? The M4 now ranges from 65 inches all the way to 97 inches on the diagonal. And if you loved the idea of a wireless TV — with the Zero Connect Box doing the heavy lifting and then beaming the image data onto the panel — it’s back again for the upcoming series, and capable of doing 4K resolution at up to 144 Hz refresh rates. The 2023 M3, as you’ll recall, lacked a 65-inch model (instead starting at 77 inches, with 83 inches in the middle), and its refresh rate topped out at 120 Hz. That increased refresh rate extends to all 2024 TVs in the M4, G4, and C4 lineups up to 83 inches.

There’s no word on pricing for the new models just yet — which is the norm for this sort of pre-CES announcement. But the 2023 77-inch M3 is still listed at $5,000, with the 97-incher at a whopping $30,000.

“Bolstered by a class-leading OLED TV and impressive QNED lineup, LG continues to assert its dominance in the premium TV market with the promise of the best possible customer experience through a distinguished selection of content and services available on the company’s webOS smart TV platform,” Park Hyoung-sei, president of the LG’s Home Entertainment Company, said in a press release.

Wireless audio isn’t left out of the story, either (nor is it immune from the AI branding). Featuring “AI Sound Pro” for “richer and fuller audio,” the M4 sports virtual 11.1.2 sound built in, with “AI technology” used to help lift vocals above the din. And if you opt for one of LG’s soundbars, you can do all that audio wirelessly, thanks to WOWCAST, which also uses the TV’s speakers in the mix.

And LG’s webOS operating system gets another refresh, too. You can have up to 10 profiles on board, so everyone can have the picture just the way they like it (so long as the AI approves, perhaps). And the new sets can even listen to the sound of your voice to apply the proper profile. That’ll be fun to try. And as was previously announced, the new TVs will receive updates for the next five year (and that extends back to the 2022 models, too).

All in all, some very exciting, very not inexpensive stuff is on the way. And we’ll get our first look at it at CES 2024 in Las Vegas next week . So stay tuned.

Both LG and Panasonic announced new OLED TVs with substantially brighter screens than their previous generations at CES 2023. In fact, they are up to 150% brighter in some cases, with peak brightness claims of 2,100 nits. That's a big jump, and much of the credit goes to a new ingredient in OLED panels called Micro Lens Array (or MLA). How does it work, and which TVs will offer it? Here's everything you need to know.

Wall-mounting a TV is no picnic, especially when that TV measures 97 diagonal inches. But LG's new Signature OLED M Series TV could make that task much easier. The giant, 4K OLED TV uses LG's Zero Connect wireless technology to effectively eliminate the need for any AV cabling from AV receivers, set-top boxes, soundbars, or game consoles to the TV. As long as the OLED M3 has power, it doesn't need any other wires. LG is showing the M3 for the first time at CES 2023 but hasn't offered any details on price or availability.

The M3's wireless connection is powered by the included Zero Connect box -- a cheekily-named gadget that is essentially the same device as Samsung's One Connect box, except that the Zero Connect box uses a fully wireless connection to the M3 instead of Samsung's thin umbilical cord. One, Zero ... you get the idea. LG says the new box will have "multiple" ports for connecting devices, though it hasn't said how many and what kind.

Samsung was the first company to show off a 4K TV based on QD-OLED technology at CES 2022, and now, at CES 2023 it has unveiled two new QD-OLED models -- the S95C Samsung OLED and S90C Samsung OLED -- and each will be available as 77-inch models. Both will also be offered in 55- and 65-inch sizes.  The news came one day after Samsung Display confirmed it would show its next-gen "QD-OLED 2023" panel at the show in a 77-inch size.

When QD-OLED-based TVs debuted in 2022, Samsung and Sony revealed the first two 4K TVs models within hours of each other: the Samsung S95B and the Sony A95K. Both TVs proved to be absolutely stunning in terms of picture quality, leaving our reviewer no choice but to award them a rare 10/10 rating. But the TVs themselves weren't especially large; only 55- and 65-inch sizes were introduced.
