Essay on Atmanirbhar Bharat 500 Words in English

Below we have provided Atmanirbhar Bharat Essay in English for class 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 students.

On 12th May 2020, while addressing the country amid coronavirus pandemic, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the Atmanirbhar Bharat or self-sufficient India concept. He stated that the current state of the world has made us realize self-sufficiency is the only path for development. For many, this concept seemed covalent and put them in a tizzy.

So, the literal meaning is self-independence, where India needs to make sure that the 21st century belongs to it. COVID-19 has provided an excellent opportunity to prove our mettle in a world who is like a family. Rural India was left on its devices when the lockdown was imposed. Their challenges were different than in urban areas. The people who migrated to the cities for the job was left for starving, which coerced them to return to their homes.

Since India is an agrarian economy, availability of labour and machines, fear of police and lack of family labour caused significant hurdles in the harvest of several crops. Furthermore, they faced challenges in threshing, storage, transportation, closure of markets and mandis. Rubber and tea plantations in Kerala and Assam suffered a considerable loss due to the halt in farm operations.

The restricted mobility has obstructed the sales of vegetables and fruits. In such situations, the idea of Atmanirbhar Bharat seems futile. The intended objective of this concept is two-fold. First, for the poor people, interim measures like liquidity and direct cash transfer are released, which will act as shock absorbers. Second, the plan is to bring reforms in the growth-critical sector to make it globally attractive.

When these measures are applied, then it will revive the economic activity and create opportunities in micro, small, agriculture and medium sectors. Also, it will bring substantial growth in power, coal, defence, aviation and mining. The scheme formulated is a one-step towards the one nation one market and help India emerge as the food factory of the world.

The MGNREGA may help the distressed migrants in villages due to the infusion of 40,000 crore. For finance-starved sector, Rs 3 lakh crore has been provided as a collateral-free loan facility. As the MSME (micro, small and medium enterprise) is the largest employment generating sector, this plan would ensure their sustenance and thereby help in India comparative advantage.

Moreover, the newly launched PM e-vidya programme will secure schools, colleges and universities as it will assist them in conducting online courses without further loss in teaching. The expenditure on health will be increased by ramping up health and wellness centres in rural and urban places. A sum of rupees 3 lakh 10 crores is to be provided to dairy, animal husbandry and fisheries.

Atma Nirbhar Bharat Essay

Atma Nirbhar Bharat translates to Self-Reliant India. The campaign represents Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a modern India. The fundamental goal of the Atma Nirbhar Bharat programme is to make its population self-sufficient in the pillars of the economy, demand, infrastructure, demography, and the system. Here are some sample essays on the topic ‘Atma Nirbhar Bharat’.

Atma Nirbhar Bharat Essay

In May 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan to prevent potential economic decline and turn the Covid-19 global pandemic into an opportunity. The Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan was launched with the intention of making India self-sufficient and acting as a stimulant for the economy, which has been severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to the disruption caused by the coronavirus epidemic in trade and migration, many countries started preparing for any future outbreaks by diversifying their supply networks and becoming self-reliant. Atma Nirbhar Bharat's vision was that India develops the ability to create all of the goods it requires domestically and eventually contribute more to the global economy by exporting the excess.

India depends heavily on imports from numerous nations around the world and pays a hefty import bill relative to export. All import and export activity were suspended worldwide throughout the pandemic. Hospital beds, Covid test kits, medications, ventilators, and other essential respiratory and medical equipment, including basic supplies of hand sanitizers and N95 Masks, were in limited supply in India. It was then recognised that India should now rely on domestic development of goods, and production. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Atma Nirbhar Bharat Campaign to fulfil these wants and encourage domestic manufacturing of these goods.

The Indian Government has issued rescue packages and support packages to various industries to boost market liquidity in an effort to make Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan more successful. Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the economic package alongside other initiatives. The amount of packages released during the lockdown was 10% of India's GDP. Different regions of the country were expected to receive support and strength from the economic package. Additionally, it will give the nation's development process a fresh boost. This economic package has placed a strong emphasis on Land, Labour, Liquidity, and Laws in order to demonstrate India's final resolve to be self-sufficient.

In a major effort to revive the Covid-hit economy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced massive new financial incentives on top of the previously announced packages for a combined stimulus of Rs 20 lakh crore, saying the coronavirus crisis has given India an opportunity to become independent and take the lead globally.

5 Pillars Of Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan

Prime Minister Modi outlined the five pillars that will support an independent India -

Economy | India requires an economy that brings about quantum leaps rather than gradual changes.

Infrastructure | India requires an infrastructure that will define its modern vision.

System | A system that actualizes the aspirations of 21st century India and is not based on the laws and customs of the past is required. This system must be built on technology.

Demography | India is the largest democracy on the planet. Its strength lies in its dynamic demographic and provides the fuel for attempts to make India self-sufficient.

Demand | In our economy, the cycle of supply and demand is advantageous. We must completely utilise this power.

Advantages Of Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan

The Aatmnirbhar Bharat Abhiyan initiative seeks to expand the market for domestic goods while assisting Indian businesses to participate in international supply chains. Imports should be decreased to conserve foreign currency. By exporting more items, we can generate an increasing amount of foreign currency.

Being an independent country has many advantages. Not only will industries expand, but unemployment will also decrease. As a result, the nation's economy will grow stronger and the poverty rate will drop.

India's independence will benefit the entire nation and every individual citizen. India won't have to rely on other nations for goods, which is one of the many benefits.

As a result, India's imports would fall and its exports would rise, lowering trade imbalance over time. India will earn more foreign currency and save more foreign currency with the aid of export promotion. Small and medium-sized businesses in India will expand owing to the Atma Nirbhar Bharat package, and the manufacturing industry will prosper.

An additional Rs 40,000 crore has been allocated to MGNREGA in order to provide jobs to returned migrants. The government would give the migrants a place to stay. India’s economy will prosper more by generating more employment for the migrants.

Space exploration will be made available to the private sector—The Indian aerospace industry will gain from this. A unique liquidity facility worth 30,000 crores has also been announced for distressed non-banking finance companies.

Another 90000 crore liquidity plan was announced to fund loans for electricity distribution companies.

The Atma Nirbhar Bharat Campaign is a crucial step towards the growth and regeneration of the Indian economy. The Indian economy has a huge potential to become self-sufficient, but this requires appropriate application of laws set by the government and proper distribution of funds made available. If the right policies are created and put into place, both urban and rural areas have a massive level of potential to flourish. All necessary resources should be made available by the government to locations that have the potential to implement unique ideas.

The Five pillars of Aatma nirbhar Bharat focus on the following components:

  • Economy: This pillar basically targets quantum jumps in the economy instead of incremental changes.
  • Infrastructure: This pillar aims to generate maximum employment in the infrastructural. By forming adaptable and effective policies, it will support India in growing the infrastructural field.
  • System: This pillar is all about the technology-driven system. It aims to inform policies that will help Indian in growing within the technology domain.

  • Phase-V: Government Reforms and Enablers

This phase will help in easing down healthcare development and business via online education and technology-driven measures.

Benefits and Impact of the Aatma nirbhar  Bharat Campaign

Even though it has not been very long since the Aatm nirbhar  Bharat Campaign spread its wings, there are several results still seen. While before March 2020 when India had nearly zero Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) Kits production.

Today the country has a local capacity of producing over 2 lakh PPE kits on a daily basis. Along with that, India has also paced up with developing its own Covid testing kits. The recent development is visible in the Covid-19 vaccination scenario. India is amongst the leading countries that are successfully running the vaccination drive. More than half of the 18+ individuals in the country have got their first dose.

Not only that, but India also produced its own Covid-19 vaccination, named Covaxin. Institutions like the Indian council of medical research, Bharat Biotech, and the National Institute of Virology approved Covaxin in the first week of January 2021. Recent developments on ZyCov-Di, India’s first mRNA vaccine, are also speculated.

Apart from the Covid centric development, the defense ministry of India is also focusing upon the production of weapons. The position of India in the World Bank increased to 63 then of 142 in 2014.

With the vocal for local motive, India will save immensely on foreign exchange and even save more by promoting its export.

Focusing on both impact and benefits, the Aatma nirbhar  Bharat is nurturing India and its self-reliance in true form.

The long-term benefits of Aatma nirbhar  Bharat

While the short-term benefits of Aatma nirbhar bharat have begun showing, there are several long-term benefits still to glow. The campaign aims to support small and medium enterprises in the country along with the manufacturing sector. With that, the government is holding a vision of growing the Indian economy to 5 trillion by 2025.

Along with that, the newly launched PM e-vidya program is helping in strengthening the education system. Even while the country was/is in lockdown, online classes amongst all education groups ensured uninterrupted teaching-learning. Also, the expenditure on the health sector increased, aiming to make India self-sufficient for upcoming challenging like the COVID-19 pandemic.

Challenges and Criticism

With all the good sides, there are several challenges as well that may come in the way of the Aatma nirbhar Bharat campaign.

One of the major criticisms includes the Aatma nirbhar Bharat campaign being way too similar to the Make in India Campaign. Several critics argued that the same package had been presented with a new name.

One of the most ignored segments in the Aatma nirbhar Bharat campaign is urban employment.

As per critics, the funding is quite similar to the general budget. This way, there is nothing extraordinary associated with the special budget.

As per critics, the package may not stand enough to revive the economy, let alone the 5 trillion goals.

The Aatma nirbhar Bharat campaign promises inclusive growth and development. Within a short time, India has speed up towards becoming self-reliant. The governing party is taking all possible measuring in launching beneficiary schemes while bringing them to life. However, despite the promises, there’s still a long way to go.

Swadeshi and Atma Nirbhar Bharat: Reinventing Nationalism

  • AUTHOR Nitin Pai
  • PUBLISHED 02 April 2021

For those who think ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atma Nirbhar Bharat’ are new ideas created by a millennial government, it might surprise them to know of their deep roots in the 19th century. And, their deep practice in one form or another—feasible and flawed—for more than a hundred years. In a two-part series, here’s a deep dive into the journey of Swadeshi from its birth to its evolution, and its latest political arrival with brand new slogans.

“By June 1991, the balance of payments crisis had become overwhelmingly a crisis of confidence… A default on our payments, for the first time in our history, had become a serious possibility. It became necessary to take emergency action… The Government leaded 20 tonnes of gold out of its stock to the State Bank of India to enable it to sell the gold abroad with an option to repurchase it at the end of six months. Reserve Bank of India (was allowed) to ship 47 tonnes of gold to the Bank of England in July.” - Economic Survey 1991-92.

It is hard to find a more damning official indictment of the economic policies of independent India that came to a head in the spring and summer of 1991. There are many reasons the proud Indian Republic was literally brought to its knees that year: policies of recent governments, the first Gulf War, the fall of the Soviet Union and the resulting inability to juggle the macro-economic levers are the proximate causes.

Yet it was recognised that the real causes lay deeper — in the economic models that India had adopted since 1947, and even deeper, in the ideas that had led to their adoption. Chief among these were socialism as a way to redistribute wealth, the centrality of government in controlling economic activity and the achievement of ‘self-reliance’.

Despite being partly responsible for the crisis, the pursuit of ‘self-reliance’ is almost always left out of the chargesheet. In fact, eminent economists of the time argued that the crisis came about because we did not “strive harder for self-reliance”.

By 2021, though, ‘self-reliance’ was back on the centre-stage of India’s economic policy agenda: in the form of the ‘Make in India’ initiative in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Narendra Modi government’s first term that began in 2014 and ‘Atma Nirbhar Bharat’, or ‘self-reliant India’, in the second, after May 2019.

– The ideas of self-reliance, self-sufficiency and indigenisation form part of the overall narrative of ‘Swadeshi’, a word that literally means “of one’s own country” but is much more than that.

Underlying the economics is a challenge to social norms and values. More than being merely concerned with the purchase and production of Indian-made goods, ‘Swadeshi’ is an expression of economic nationalism within an idiom of resistance to outside powers.

Definition: From Patriotic to Practical

‘Swadeshi’ is a term that most people instinctively understand, but has meant different things to different people at different times. According to economic historian Tirthankar Roy, it is “nationalistic self-reliance”. His colleague Sumit Sarkar offers a more comprehensive and most accurate definition: “The sentiment — closely associated with many phases of Indian nationalism — that indigenous goods should be preferred by consumers even if they were more expensive than and inferior in quality to their imported substitutes, and that it was the patriotic duty of men with capital to pioneer such industries even though profits initially might be minimal of non-existent.” To Dattopant Baburao Thengadi, founder of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh-linked Swadeshi Jagran Manch, Swadeshi is “the practical manifestation of patriotism…a broad-based ideology embracing all departments of national life.”

Gandhi offers perhaps the most extreme — and the intellectually the most honest — definition. In 1916, he described Swadeshi as “that spirit in us that which restricts us to the use and service of our immediate surroundings to the exclusion of the more remote… I must restrict myself to my ancestral religion. In the domain of politics, I should make use of the indigenous institutions… In that of economics, I should use only those things that are produced by my immediate neighbours and those industries by making them efficient and complete where they might be found wanting.” Almost a century later, Modi’s second administration compressed this into a very succinct “Vocal for Local”.

History: Swadeshi Before Gandhi

Although Gandhi is recognised as among the most prominent advocates of Swadeshi in the past century, it was with the Swadeshi Movement of Bengal (1903-1908) — over a decade before his arrival on the scene — that connected the idea to India’s struggle for freedom from British colonial rule. That movement, in turn, politically picked up the threads of Swadeshi from even earlier intellectual and social reaction in several parts of the subcontinent to the establishment of the British colonial state in the middle of the 19th century. Indeed, the earliest mention of the word ‘Swadeshi’ in the English language dates back to 1825, to the time when the East India Company’s rulers attempted social reforms in partnership with early Indian liberals like Raja Rammohun Roy.

As the historian Bipan Chandra notes, “The idea of, and the agitation for, swadeshi are, in reality nearly as old as the rising national consciousness itself.” In the family of ideas, therefore, swadeshi like liberalism and nationalism is a grandchild of the Enlightenment (and a distant but estranged cousin of Communism).

Evolution: Seven Phases of Swadeshi

Seven distinct, sometimes overlapping phases emerge while tracing the evolution of the Swadeshi idea over the past two centuries: the proto-Swadeshi phase (1820-1857); the early phase (1857-1890), when it entered social consciousness in several parts of the country; the emergent phase (1890-1903), during which it was embraced by organised political associations across the subcontinent; the phase of mass political struggle for independence from British rule (1903-1947); the policy phase (1947-1992) when it became a goal of the Indian Republic; the recession phase (1992-2016), when it was eclipsed by globalisation; and current populist reprise (2016 onwards), where it has again been declared a national priority.

800px_Raja_Ram_Mohan_Roy_______________________________________

Proto-Swadeshi (1820-1857)

The earliest consciousness of the need to protect indigenous goods and industries is likely to have emerged as part of the orthodox Hindu reaction to the social reforms (like the abolition of Sati) promoted by Christian missionaries and liberal reformers like Rammohun Roy in the early 19th century, after the East India Company government began to enshrine them as the law of the land.

The historian Christopher Bayly sees an “early intimation” of Swadeshi in an 1822 article in Chandrika Samachar , a conservative magazine, that complains that the foreign government had neither provided for training ayurvedic medical practitioners nor proper indigenous medical facilities.

In subsequent years, the advent of English education in 1835 and the proliferation of newspapers in Indian languages enabled individuals to acquire and spread political ideas and the developing national consciousness. Writing in a Marathi publication in Pune, the English-educated Gopal Hari Deshmukh in 1849 was among the first intellectuals to advocate the use of Indian products instead of imported ones. It was mostly in this manner that the development of economic grievances continued alongside political and cultural ones in the years leading up to the Uprising of 1857. Rebel manifestos of the period included accusations of how foreign imports had hurt native artisans.

Early Swadeshi (1857-1890)

Following the brutal upheavals of 1857 and the transfer of power to the British Crown, Swadeshi moved from idea to action. In Bengal, it found a champion in the form of the ‘National’ idea. Nabagopal Mitra who, inspired by Rajnarain Bose, set up the National Paper, National Store, National Gymnasium, National School, National Theatre and even a National Circus in quick succession in the late 1860s.

Significantly, he founded the ‘Hindu Mela’ in 1867 “to promote national feeling and to inculcate a spirit of self-help among Hindus by promoting Indian products”. Financed by the wealthy Tagore family, the annual festival ran up to 1880 and counted among its visitors the young Rabindranath Tagore and Narendranath Dutta (later known as Swami Vivekananda), both of whom made important contributions to the Swadeshi discourse.

In the 1870s in Pune, inspired by Mahadev Govind Ranade’s lectures, Ganesh Vasudeo Joshi started shops to sell Swadeshi goods, in addition to spinning yarn every day for his own clothing, a practice that Gandhi made famous four decades later. The decade saw the sprouting of Swadeshi stores in many cities across the country, with railways, the telegraph and newspapers accelerating the spread of the idea. The Government’s decision to abolish import duties on British cotton goods in 1882 added more fuel to the growing Swadeshi fire, bringing mill owners into the fold.

– One political mobilisation that featured Swadeshi, boycotts and non-cooperation during this period was in Punjab in the 1860s, where the 12th Namdhari Guru, Ram Singh enjoined his followers to abjure everything British as he envisioned “driving the English out of Hindustan”.

For the most part, though, the Swadeshi cause did not have an overt political instrumentality.

Emergent Political Phase (1890-1903)

By the late 1880s, political associations began to take an interest in the Swadeshi agenda. It first entered the deliberations of the Indian National Congress in 1891, but it was only in 1896 that it became a national cause, after the Government imposed excise duties on manufactured Indian cloth.

In the Bombay Presidency, Bal Gangadhar Tilak organised boycotts and public burnings of foreign cloth, amid widespread public support across the country. In the event, the protests were insufficient to persuade the Government to lift the excise duties, which remained in place till 1925. It did, however, become a regular part of the Congress’s agenda in the 1890s with exhortations, appeals and actions albeit without a formal endorsement.

By this time, Swadeshi had already become a social proxy against what many saw as political ‘mendicancy’. As the temperature of nationalist sentiment outstripped the Congress’s appetite for confrontation with the Government, ‘atmasakti’ or ‘self-reliance’ and ‘constructive work’ became the new slogans—starting Swadeshi enterprises and stores, trying to organise education on autonomous and indigenous lines, and emphasising the need for concrete work at the village level. Such efforts at self-help, together with the use of the vernacular and utilisation of traditional popular customs and institutions (like the ‘mela’ or fair), were felt to be the best methods for drawing the masses into the national movement.

– Most of the Indian capital in the mid-19th century was invested in land, agriculture, trade and arbitrage.

The global economic changes of the time — the industrial revolution, abolition of slavery, the American Civil War and the indigo and opium trade — did have an influence on changing the pattern of the deployment of Indian capital. The earliest Indian investments in industry were made in the mid-1860s. By the 1890s, nudged by Swadeshi, the more entrepreneurial Indian capitalists started investing in cotton mills and consumer goods like soaps, locks and pharmaceuticals, as also in ventures in shipping and transportation.

Essay on Atma Nirbhar Bharat in English for Senior Students- 400 + Words

Introduction

Atma Nirbhar Bharat, a term that has been making rounds in Indian political circles and media, translates to “Self-Reliant India.” The concept of Atma Nirbhar Bharat aims at creating a self-sufficient economy within the country. It promotes indigenous production and reduces dependence on imports. This vision is not new; it has been a part of India’s economic progress since independence. However, recent global events have reawakened the importance of self-reliance for India.

India’s economic progress since independence

India’s economic progress since independence has been huge and commendable. The country was once viewed as a poverty-stricken nation, but today it’s among the fastest-growing economies in the world. The economy has grown huge over the past seven decades with an average growth rate of 6-7%. One of India’s major achievements is its agricultural sector which contributes significantly to its GDP. The Green Revolution that began in the mid-1960s helped transform Indian agriculture, making it self-sufficient in food production. The service sector also plays an important role in India’s economy, accounting for more than half of its GDP. It includes industries such as IT services, tourism, finance and banking among others. In recent years, India has also emerged as a manufacturing hub with initiatives like ‘Make In India’ campaign aimed at boosting domestic manufacturing and attracting foreign investment. Despite all these achievements, India still faces challenges like poverty, education reforms and rural development issues. Nonetheless, there are immense opportunities for growth if the government continues to focus on infrastructure development and technology advancements while promoting sustainable economic policies.

The role of the government in promoting Atma Nirbhar Bharat

The government of India plays an important role in promoting the Atma Nirbhar Bharat initiative. The government has taken several steps to make this vision a reality, including providing financial assistance and implementing policies that support Indian businesses. One such example is the Make in India campaign, which was launched by Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi in 2014 with the aim of transforming India into a global hub for manufacturing. The campaign encourages companies to set up their operations in India and manufacture products locally. This not only promotes economic growth but also reduces our dependence on imports. The government has also introduced various schemes to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through loans, subsidies, tax exemptions and other benefits. These schemes help SMEs grow their business and create more employment opportunities within the country. Furthermore, the recently announced Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan package worth Rs 20 lakh crore will provide much-needed relief to industries impacted by COVID-19 while continuously making efforts towards self-reliance.0

The benefits of Atma Nirbhar Bharat for the people of India

Atma Nirbhar Bharat, which translates to Self-Reliant India, is a bold and ambitious initiative aimed at promoting economic growth and development in India. The benefits of Atma Nirbhar Bharat are numerous for the people of India. Firstly, it will promote indigenous manufacturing by reducing dependence on imports from other countries. This will lead to increased job opportunities for Indians as more products will be produced domestically. Secondly, the initiative promotes entrepreneurship by providing finance to small and medium enterprises through government schemes such as Startup India. This encourages innovation and creativity amongst young entrepreneurs leading to new business ideas being brought forth that can benefit the country’s economy. Thirdly, Atma Nirbhar Bharat promotes technological advancements in various sectors including agriculture, healthcare and education which leads to better standards of living for all Indians. This initiative also aims in boosting exports from India thereby increasing foreign exchange reserves thus strengthening our economy further.

The challenges faced by India in becoming Atma Nirbhar

To become Atma Nirbhar, India faces several challenges that need to be addressed. Firstly, the country’s heavy reliance on imports must be reduced. This can be achieved by boosting domestic production and investing in research and development. Secondly, India must improve its infrastructure to become self-sufficient. The transportation network needs to be upgraded to facilitate faster movement of goods across the country. Moreover, power generation capacity should also increase for efficient energy supply. Thirdly, there is a need for skill development programs that focus on equipping workers with the technical skills required for different industries. Vocational training initiatives should target youths who have dropped out of schools or colleges due to financial constraints. Fourthly, government policies must support small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in becoming more competitive globally. Simplification of regulatory procedures will encourage entrepreneurship and innovation within the business sector.

Atma Nirbhar Bharat is a vision for India to become self-reliant and empowered. It aims at boosting the country’s economy by promoting domestic production, reducing imports, and creating jobs. The government has taken several steps towards realising this vision, such as promoting indigenous industries through various schemes and encouraging entrepreneurship. However, achieving Atma Nirbhar Bharat is not an easy task. It requires collective efforts from the government, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and citizens of India. Addressing the challenges faced in becoming self-reliant will take time but with determination and perseverance, it can be achieved. The benefits of Atma Nirbhar Bharat are enormous- from strengthening our economy to providing job opportunities to our people; we need a strong push towards self-sufficiency in every sector possible. Essay Writing in English on atmanirbhar bharat / Self- Reliant India Mission

ATMANIRBHAR BHARAT : Prospects & Challenges

The word Self Reliance means ‘the capacity to rely on one’s own efforts and capabilities.’ Addressing the nation on Covid-19 pandemic, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the necessity of a ‘self-reliant’ India. He called it ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan’ or ‘Self Reliant India Mission’ with the vision of making India a bigger and important part of global economy. It is based on five pillars – Economy, Infrastructure for modern India, 21st century technology driven system, Demand and Vibrant Demography.

Indian government announced a special package worth Rs. 20 lakh crore aimed towards achieving this mission. Under this mission, compensation will be given to farmers, traders, etc. who have suffered loss due to lockdown. This package is expected to focus on land, labour, liquidity and law.

ADVANTAGES Self-reliant mission may help revive our economy impacted by Covid-19 pandemic and create new opportunities and employment across various sectors. The economic package will strengthen India’s cottage and home industries, small and medium enterprises and other industries, middle class, labourers and farmers. The mission aims to make Indian firms more competitive in the global supply chain. It will help in reducing our dependence on imports. Increased domestic production and efficiency will in turn increase our exports. These reforms will promote business, attract investments and further strengthen Indian economy.

CHALLENGES Lack of effective modernization of Indian industries is a big challenge. Country needs huge investment in building strong social infrastructure. The package for MSME’s was modest and there was no adequate focus on unorganized sector. No stimulus in the package to generate demand.

CONCLUSION The Covid-19 pandemic has adversely affected the Indian economy and society. Atmanirbhar Bharat is a move towards making India more self-reliant in the post Covid-19 world. For India to be truly self-reliant, government should focus on education, health, human capability and research and development. The mission will definitely support the resurgence of Indian economy.

आत्मनिर्भर भारत पर लघु और दीर्घ निबंध (Short and Long Essays on Self Reliant India in Hindi, Atmanirbhar Bharat par Nibandh Hindi mein)

Introduction

Five pillars of aatmnirbhar bharat abhiyan, benefits of aatmnirbhar bharat abhiyan, important step.

Essay on Aatm Nirbhar Bharat or Essay on Swatantra Bharat

Aatm Nirbhar Bharat Essay- Aatmnirbhar which is a Hindi word meaning in English is “Self- Reliant” which also refers to less dependency on others or don’t be dependent on others.

Even after India was liberated from British rule in 1947, India was dependent on another with few resources. But today’s India is becoming self-reliant in every field.

An economic package of Rs 20 lakh crores has been announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi under the Aatmnirbhat Bharat Abhiyan in May 2020 to prevent possible deterioration in the economy during the Covid 19 global Pandemic and to turn the disaster into an opportunity.

To address the Coronavirus outbreak and subsequent lockdown in India which has led to the economic slowdown, a self-reliant India Mission is launched.

Aatm Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan was announced with the aim to make India self-reliant and also provided a stimulus for the economy that has been hit badly by the covid-19 pandemic . This package is estimated to be 10 percent of GDP .

This economic package will cater to the needs of various sections including small businesses, textile industry, domestic industry, laborers, MSMEs. With this, the Prime Minister said that the time has come to make India self-reliant. For this, he called for using local products, promoting and making them global. For this, he gave the Slogan “ Vocal for Local “.

This Aatmnirbhar mission will be implemented in two phases, in the first phase, it will consider all the necessary areas such as medicine, textiles, electronics, plastics, and toys where local manufacturing and exports will be promoted.

  • Economy: An economy that ensures a big leap in the place of incremental change.
  • Technology: To promote such infrastructure that becomes the identity of the modern.
  • Infrastructure: It is based on 21st-century technology-driven systems.
  • Vibrant Demography: Vibrant Demography, which is the source of our energy for a self-reliant India.
  • Demand: It will utilize the full potential of India’s demand-supply chain.

Aatm Nirbhar Bharat Campaign is an important mission for the economic revival and progress of the Indian economy under lockdown. The Indian economy has great potential to achieve self-sufficiency, but this requires proper implementation of government-made laws and proper allocation of government-allocated funds.

There is a great potential to develop not only in urban but also in rural areas if appropriate policies are formulated and implemented. The government should provide all facilities to develop areas that have the capability to take innovative steps.

There are many benefits to being a self-reliant nation. Not only industries will grow but also unemployment will be eliminated. This will ensure that the poverty rate will decline and the nation’s economy will strengthen up.

India’s self-reliance will benefit the entire country and every citizen of the country. The first advantage will be that we will not have to depend on other countries for the things we need.

The Aatmnirbhar Bharat Abhiyan package aims to make local products global and help Indian companies compete in global supply chains. A reduction in imports will save foreign exchange. We can earn more and more foreign exchange by exporting additional goods.

Additional Rs 40,000 crore was allotted for MGNREGA to provide employment to the returned migrants. The shelter will be provided to migrants by the government. More health institutions and labs will be established.

Space exploration to be opened for the private sector. This will benefit the Indian Space industry. Thirty thousand crores special liquidity facility is announced for stressed Non-banking Finance Companies . Ninety thousand crores liquidity plan is announced to provide loans for power discoms.

Some important steps to be taken in the direction of Aatmnirbhar Bharat Abhiyan:-

  • There is a need to improve the quality of products in order to establish their products globally.
  • India needs to focus on its basic infrastructure.
  • India needs to focus on willpower, inclusion, investment, innovation.
  • The challenges are increasing even more in the 21st century. Therefore, India may need more structural reforms in the future towards the creation of a new India.
  • The main criticism for the Atmanibhar Bharat campaign package is that it is similar to the “ Make in India Campaign” . Critics argue that the same plan has been given a different name.
  • Most of these fundings are allocated in the same way as the general budget. Therefore, the inclusion of them in special packages is associated with criticism.
  • This package may not be enough to revive the economy.
  • Urban employment has been ignored in this package.

Thus, there are challenges before Aatmnirbhar Bharat Abhiyan , but its targeted approach promotes inclusive growth, which includes all aspects of development, which meet the criteria such as equality, to be ready to diagnose the problems faced. It also includes aspects like empowerment of citizens, which is the capital to build a better India.

Due to the Coronavirus epidemic, the trade of goods and migration of people was disrupted and, as a result, many countries began preparing for future epidemics to diversify supply chains and make themselves Aatmnirbhar. Therefore, the Government of India has a great need to transform India into a self-reliant country. But this may not be enough to revive the economy and rebuild the livelihoods affected by the epidemic.

The lockdown during the corona pandemic has created problems for everyone in the world to eat, drink and live. In view of this crisis of epidemic, India needs to be self-reliant. India has been Aatm Nirbhar since ancient times, and by becoming Aatm Nirbhar in this episode, along with your own family, you can help put your country on the path of progress again. Short and Long Essays on Aatm Nirbhar Bharat in English

Essay 1 (250 words) – self-reliant india ( aatm nirbhar bharat).

Preface of ( Aatm Nirbhar Bharat)

Looking at the art and culture of India, it is clear that India has been self-sufficient since ancient times. Today we need to make ourselves self-reliant in this crisis of corona pandemic.

Being self-reliant means that through the skills you have, you have to move forward yourself on a small level or do something for your country on a large scale. By making yourself self-reliant, you will be able to feed your family in this corona crisis and with this you will also be able to contribute to your nation.

Aatm Nirbhar Bharat

However, the term self-reliance is not new. In rural areas, self-reliance is said to run the expenses of the family with the goods made by the cottage industry and the money that comes from its income. Cottage industry or homemade goods are sold only in the nearby markets, if one’s material is of good quality, it is in demand elsewhere as well. In a common language, the goods which are made from raw materials for the use of our lives in homes, then we call it local material, but the truth is that this is a form of self-reliance. Cottage industries, fisheries, etc. are some examples of Aatm Nirbhar Bharat .

In the category of self-reliance, agriculture, fisheries, materials made in Anganwadi etc. have many types of work, which brings us into the category of self-reliance. In this way, if we connect our family to the village, village to the district, each other, we contribute to the whole nation. In this way, we can see India as a self-reliant India.

We can manufacture goods from easily available natural resources and raw materials and sell them in the markets around us. With this, you can contribute to the path of self-reliant India as well as yourself, and together we can all cooperate in strengthening the dream of building a self-reliant nation.

Preface of aatm nirbhar bharat ..

Essay on Aatm Nirbhar Bharat : India has decided to make itself a self-reliant India in order to fight the crisis of corona epidemic in the world and to maintain and improve the internal condition of the country. India used to import a lot of things from abroad, but due to this epidemic there has been a huge impact on the import-export of the whole world, and it is very necessary for the nation to become self-reliant in order to make this situation normal and fulfill every requirement of the country. Is.

Campaign to make self-reliant India | Aatm Nirbhar Bharat.

The Prime Minister has appealed to the people of the country to convert the disaster into an opportunity during the Corona period. In this hour of crisis, everyone has been appealed to become self-reliant and contribute to the service and progress of the nation. The country will be self-reliant, only then can we put the nation forward for progress in this hour of crisis.

India has been a land of resources since ancient times. In view of the poverty and hunger of India after independence, Mahatma Gandhi had dreamed of making the country self-reliant, but due to lack of facilities in that situation it was not completely possible, but as far as possible people made themselves self-reliant. . In this crisis of epidemic, the Prime Minister has appealed again, reminding Mahatma Gandhi that dream of self-reliance. There is no shortage of resources in India and now India is capable of manufacturing anything, for this it does not need to take help from anyone else.

To become an Aatm Nirbhar Bharat  means that our country will have to depend on itself in every field. India will have to manufacture everything in the country itself. The main objective of this Aatm Nirbhar Bharat campaign is to use the goods made from the resources of India in India itself. The main objective of this campaign is to improve our industries from self-reliant India and provide employment to the youth, sufficient food for the poor.

Aatm Nirbhar Bharat Benefits

If India becomes self-reliant, then the country will get many benefits from it, which will be very helpful in the progress of the people and the country.

  • Aatm Nirbhar Bharat will increase the number of industries in our country.
  • Our country will have to take less help from other countries.
  • More employment opportunities will be created in our country.
  • This will help in getting rid of unemployment as well as poverty in the country.
  • India’s economic condition will be very strong.
  • By becoming self-reliant, India can store a lot of things.
  • In the future, the country will be able to import less and export more from other countries.
  • In the event of a disaster, India’s demand for help from outside countries will be less.
  • By making indigenous items in the country, it will help in taking the country’s progress to the top.
  • Important things to become self-reliant India

Under the declaration of self-reliant India, the Prime Minister of India has talked about Six important things for self-reliance.

What are the five pillars of a self-reliant India?

First Pillar: Economy – PM Modi said the government’s endeavor is towards building an economy that brings quantum jump rather than incremental change.

Second Pillar: Infrastructure – PM Modi said infrastructure should be world-class which becomes the identity of modern India.

Third Pillar: Technology-driven system – The Prime Minister focussed on a technology-driven system that can fulfill the dreams of the 21st century; a system not based on the policy of the past century.

Fourth Pillar: Demography – PM Modi termed India’s vibrant demography as the country’s strength. He said it is the source of energy for a self-reliant India.

Fifth Pillar: Demand – PM Narendra Modi said the cycle of demand and supply chain in the country’s economy, is the strength that needs to be harnessed to its full potential. He said, “In order to increase demand in the country and to meet this demand, every stakeholder in our supply chain needs to be empowered. We will strengthen our supply chain, our supply system built up with the smell of the soil and the sweat of our labourers.”

Along with the whole world, India is also going through the epidemic of Corona, so along with this, India has also got an opportunity to become self-reliant. During this pandemic, to some extent, we have realized the dream of a self-reliant India and to fight this epidemic without the help of other countries, we have started manufacturing things in the country itself.

Where we have started manufacturing PPE kits, ventilators, sanitizers, and KN-95 masks in our own country. Earlier we had to buy these things from abroad. Manufacturing all these things in India is the first step towards moving towards a self-reliant India. With their production, we do not even have to take the help of other countries, and India is moving forward towards self-reliance.

Towards self-reliance, India has taken its first step towards self-reliance by making things like PPE kits, ventilators, etc. We need to use more and more indigenous items. So that we can make our country self-reliant and contribute to the progress of our nation.

What Is the Atamanirbhar Bharat Campaign?

Essay 3 (500 – 600 Words) – Atma Nirbhar Bharat: Motive, Features, and How to Apply for it?

It is one of the latest schemes of the BJP government and was announced in the mid of lockdown in India due to COVID-19. Corona has badly affected the entire world and many of us just lost our jobs in this time phase. It was a hard time for many of us and for the entire world. The continuous decrease in GDP really scares. So, the government took some steps and one of them was Atmanirbhar Bharat.

What Is the Main Motive of Atma Nirbhar?

Atma Nirbhar Bharat is a scheme which is specially designed for those migrant workers who lost their job during this interval. It was Corona which badly affected not only our economy but also of the entire world. So, keeping in regards, government took a major step and started promoting people for their own start-up.

It needs a lot of money to have your own business and we need some funds. It is not so easy to get funds from banks because you have to show lots of documents and should also have some property to mortgage. So, in this scheme you don’t have to keep anything in a mortgage, you just need a degree or a special talent, which should be unique in many ways. There are some norms and conditions which you can read in the bank documents but they are customer-friendly and supports customers to benefit from this scheme.

Why was the Atma Nirbhar Bharat Started?

There are many reasons behind starting this scheme starting from the very first one:

  • The very first reason is COVID-19, it is an epidemic and the entire world is facing huge trouble. Even the United States couldn’t stop this virus and as a result, it has directly affected our markets and various industries. So, to improve their performance and to improve our economy the Government of India started this scheme.
  • It is a belief that it is Chania behind this virus and as a result, many countries stopped their business relationships with Chania. And we realized that most of the Indian products are imported from Chania itself. We are totally dependent on Chania in many terms and if we will suddenly stop the import, again it will affect our market. So, for this, our Prime Minister thought to promote local products and also promised to help people to start their small-scale industries, so that in the upcoming years we can stop being dependent on other countries and promote our national products.
  • The third reason is again the COVID-19 virus, many industries were running in loss and as a result, many lost their jobs and it was really shocking for many families. Not only laborers but also other workers lost their job. So, to help them the Government launched this scheme.

Essay On Aatma Nirbhar Bharat

Hello My Dear Friend, In this Post “Essay On Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Swatantra Bharat”, we will discuss every aspect of the “Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan” OR S elf-Reliant India Campaign as an Essay in detail with deep analysis. So…

Let’s Start…

Essay On Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Swatantra Bharat

On 12th May 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a package of 20 lakhs crore to revive the economy and address the issues affecting various sections of people. the package is about 10% of India’s total GDP . this was named an Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan.

Aatma Nirbhar Bharat is the mission and vision of our P.M Narendra Modi to make India self-reliant. the vision is based on wide and deep consultation with several sections of society.

Discussions were held at various levels with various ministries up to PMO essentially this is to spur growth and build a self-reliant India . the whole initiative is therefore called Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan.

The real meaning of Aatma Nirbhar Bharat is self-reliant India . or we can say Aatma Nirbhar means to promote and give preference to indigenous products and ensure that these products match their imported counterparts in cost and quality.

Self-reliance doesn’t mean cutting off from the world with India’s progress and making globalization human-centric. it signifies the globalization of our local industries .

The main objective of this is to make India a prosperous country . beneficiaries of the self-reliant India campaign scheme will be farmers, poor citizens, migrant workers, small-scale industries, cottage industries, fishermen, cattle ranchers, middle-class industries, tenants people working in the organized sector or unorganized sector, etc.

Self-reliance is a positive word. it is very important for a person, family, or country. if the person is self-reliant , then he will have less need for help from others,

In other words, we can also say, that we should not expect help from others to run our livelihood. being self-reliant is the best quality for both the individual and the country.

A self-reliant person can face times of trouble more strongly. the same thing also applies to the country .

India has a lot of talent, so we can make the best products. we need to make our supply chain stronger to become an Aatma Nirbhar Bharat .

If we look at the resources India is a prosperous country. our country is very large and abundant resources are available here. we are able to produce any of the smallest and greatest items inside the country.

There is also a shortage of skilled youth in our country but their enthusiasm is needed. during the recent corona epidemic , the government announced the self-reliant campaign .

On Aug 15, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation from the red fort on the occasion of India’s (74th independence day)

In the one-hour 26 min speech , he focused on the themes of Aatma Nirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India), “vocal for local” and “make in India to make for the world.”

We have been required to take some steps to build an Aatma Nirbhar Bharat such as: being “vocal for the local” . buy and promote local products and brands.

Global brands that exist today were also local once but when people began supporting them, they become global.

India’s Five Pillars Of Self-Reliance

  • The economy will bring not just incremental change but a quantum jump.
  • The infrastructure will become modern India’s symbol.
  • The system will be technology -driven and not based on a policy of the past century.
  • Demography is our strength and will secure as a source of energy for self-reliant India.
  • India’s  demand  and  supply   cycle  would  improve  the  economy and  give  it  the  ability  to  achieve  its  full  potential.

In the early days of the corona epidemic , we depended on china for (PPE) kits, sanitizers, and face masks. but now all these things started being produced in our own country.

The country has many advantages to be self-reliant . the production of goods in our country will increase the industries. unemployment will be eliminated from our country and the poverty rate will also be reduced . the country’s economy will also be strong. imports in the country will be less and exports will increase.

If the production of goods is increased in the country , then it can be exported to other countries also so that the foreign currency also came to our country.

Recently, other steps have been taken by the government to create a self-reliant India . but in the race to become self-reliant. we also have to take care of some important things. before starting any industry there is a need to understand the impact it has on the environment .

Might it not be that makes your country self-reliant , doesn’t it worth leaving? it has been observed that the country which starts progressing compromises with the protection of the environment . Along with the industrial sector, we also have to follow the environment-friendly policies of our country.

India is working on many schemes to strengthen its economy such as  new industries being established, many new technologies or new machines being used in factories, so many changes are also being made in education policy .

The equipment of hospitals is being modernized so that all treatment is possible only in India . India is now moving towards becoming a digital India where the online process is being started.

Under the Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan yojana , compensation and benefits will be given to all workers, farmers, traders, etc. who have suffered a loss due to lockdown.

The county of India has moved completely towards becoming self-reliant the government of India is implementing all other types of schemes so that our India and the citizens of India are self-reliant.

The “Aatma Nirbhar Bharat “ moment got its boost from native businessmen and industrialists. the big financial foreign investments in Indian companies like in “JIO” from Google and Facebook .

The situations on the borders and the lockdown had the people and the govt to go for a vocal for local strategy. The people are willing to pay extra to encourage our local producers and manufacturers.

The 5G network dreams of India will now be made true by JIO and India will soon come into the world market of technology and be a key player in it. The PPE kit manufacturers and exporting have reached new heights and we are now the 2nds most exporting nation .

The vaccine trials and productions are also going on at a high scale to be ready at the time of export. The latest changes in the National Education policy will also encourage the skills to be self-reliant and contribute to society to take a step forward to be Aatma Nirbhar Bharat .

The more people encourage the native businessman the more will manufacture and scale the society as a whole will blossom be self-reliant or Aatma Nirbhar these feelings of joy will be the true feeling of Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Swantra Bharat .

A feeling of no dependency no high costs racing, a feeling of buildings the nation with one’s own hands, and contributing it to the development.
