The global higher education student population is largely comprised of those within Generation Z, generally characterized by their care and concern for the well-being of our world. However, many are still experiencing a curriculum designed decades ago for their parents or grandparents who lived in a world arguably far less attuned to issues such as climate change, sustainable development, and inequality.
This paper details a case study of a liberal arts career capstone course that aligns theoretical career development frameworks with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), modernizing the curriculum to help students explore their potential contributions to a more sustainable world. With reflective elements throughout the course, students envision how they can take the skills and experiences amassed during their studies in order to transform into leaders and change agents in their future organizations and communities.
The main pedagogical interventions from this innovative for-credit course are featured, such as a portfolio with an SDG-infused mission statement and an information interview assignment exploring how professional fields can contribute to the SDGs. This paper will be of interest to faculty, administrators, and curriculum developers interested in infusing sustainable education and the SDGs into the curriculum.

Case Study - Career Development Proposal - Air Canada (Notional)
This following paper is a sample career development plan for displaced employees of Air Canada, the national airline of Canada. The task is to provide recommendations for a career development plan to support 280 middle managers being made redundant through lay offs and an unknown number of senior employees being offered early retirement. The paper will review the Air Canada workforce and explore workforce reduction options. Career development planning will include a workforce audit for each position, followed by career development options targeted at employees who are being laid off or departing under the early retirement scheme. The paper will conclude with a series of recommendations for the company based on the research and emerging practices in the field.

One of the arguments against deregulation of the airline industry has been the possibility that financially troubled carriers would be tempted to lower line maintenance spending, thus lowering maintenance quality and decreasing the overall safety of the carrier. Given the financial crisis triggered by the events of 9/11: it appears to be a good time to revisit this issue. This paper examines the quality of airline line maintenance activity and examines the impact of maintenance spending on maintenance quality and overall safety. Findings indicate that increased maintenance spending is associated with increased line maintenance activity and increased overall safety quality for the major U.S. carriers.
