TH 3.0 II Voce

The human auditory system processes the range of medium frequencies with maximum sensitivity and selectivity because it makes the voice intelligible from the rest of the audio spectrum.

The R&D team started from this simple principle to design from scratch the TH 3.0 II VOCE, dedicated to this fundamental range of frequencies, with the simple as well as ambitious target of extreme linearity, in order not to add or hide anything of the signal reproduced, enhancing in this way every nuance.

ULTRA HIGH CONTROL

The extremely powerful custom N38 “H-grade” Neodymium magnet ensures unmatched control of the mobile group and the aluminium ring nullifies the intermodulation distortion otherwise generated at peak excursions.

EXTREME LINEARITY

Through finite element simulation (FEM) the Audison R&D team has optimized the break-up point between cone/surround, obtaining an ultra-linear frequency response in the mid-range.

The generous 30 mm CCAR (Copper Clad Aluminum Ribbon) voice coil wound with flat wire gives the TH 3.0 II Voce an extraordinary excursion and minimizes at the same time the cone non-linearity.

TPX ® CONE

TH 3 II Voce membrane is made of TPX®, a transparent material that ensures frequency response linearity leaving the speaker interior in full view.

• 30,5 mm mobile voice coil in CCAR (Copper Clad Aluminum Ribbon) wound with flat wire to maximize the force factor and heat dissipation.
• Aluminium demodulation ring which linearizes the high excursion intermodulation distortion, canceling any sound colorations.
• N38 "H-grade neodymium magnet included in the voice coil to obtain superior control of the mobile crew and superior thermal stability.
• Motor geometry designed using finite element simulation software to optimize efficiency by concentrating the magnetic field in the gap.
• Membrane made of TPX ® , a transparent material that reduces frequency response irregularities and provides a view of the inside of the speaker.
• Membrane geometry designed by simulation software to obtain homogeneous directivity.
• Optimized cone/surround break-up with extensive simulations to linearize the response at medium frequencies.
• Basket made of a single piece of die-cast aluminium with four pairs of spokes for maximum rigidity without slowing down the air flow.

USV Climate Fund

At USV we describe ourselves as a “thesis-driven venture capital firm.” For our core fund, we have been investing against Thesis 3.0 for some time. Over the last couple of years, we have been developing a separate Climate Thesis , including making investments in companies such as Leap and Wren .  We are excited to announce that we now have a $162 million Climate Fund specifically for that. Like our Opportunity Fund, this new Climate Fund will be managed by all the existing USV partners.

At the highest level, the Climate Thesis can be summarized as follows: The USV Climate Fund invests in companies and projects that provide mitigation for or adaptation to the climate crisis.

Mitigation is working on the causes of the climate crisis through either emissions reduction or drawdown of existing greenhouse gases from the atmosphere. Adaptation is working on the consequences of the climate crisis, such as increased risk of crop failure. Adaptation is part of the thesis in recognition that the climate crisis is not some distant future event but rather playing out in the here and now.

We will be breaking down this high-level thesis into specific ideas, much as we have done for Thesis 3.0. We will be publishing these as a series of blog posts going forward. The first such idea is using satellite imaging to enable high powered incentives for maintaining and improving forests (and eventually starting new ones). This idea has already resulted in an investment in SilviaTerra , which we are also announcing today .

The USV Climate Fund is a straight-up venture fund. We believe that decarbonizing the economy and dealing with past emissions (and their consequences), offers many opportunities for building important new companies that can produce venture type returns. The transformation of all aspects of the physical world over the coming decades will be on par with the changes brought about by digital technology. Unlike other USV funds which have focused primarily on bits, the Climate Fund will invest in both bits and atoms. Like our core funds, we will be targeting primarily Series A opportunities, which for us means something has been built that we can kick the tires on. That something can be as little as an early prototype and companies can definitely be pre-revenue.

We thank the limited partners who are trusting us with capital for this new thesis. And we are looking forward to backing entrepreneurs and teams working to help address the climate crisis.

You know want it... And you probably deserve it too!  

I have this exact set finally installed now...They are very impressive, simply holding them in your hand you can realize the quality. I have more to do before putting power to these but I will say that my skepticism regarding price to value has decreased 10 fold after actually opening the boxes. The 1.5 violas are extremely solid...weighing in at what some 6.5 mids would be... the attention to detail regarding the construction of the sax and 3.0's was clearly something not compromised. The boxes and custom fitting foam inserts that the set come in are exactly what you would expect and want for drivers of this caliber. I will add to this chain after running them and hopefully soon...I anticipate the sound will more than justify the expense! I'm quite certain that you would not be disappointed when unveiling your UPS delivery the day of arrival...

Congrats...you will love them. Just installed my 3 way last weekend. After the first tune I am amazed. The detail and imaging are eye watering. I look forward to a little break in time and then another tuning. I haven't yet added a sub and surprisingly the 6.5's truly can handle down to 40-45 depending on the source. I took a little video yesterday while driving, with my ear to ear grin, of which I tried to attach here but not able to. Fear not.....they are worth the money!

Removed my Audiofrogs changed some of the frequency settings for the speakers.. kept my original tune and time alignment.. omg I thought the Audiofrogs were an improvement over the hertz ML legends.. but these can actually play several of my music types with having completely diff eq presets!! Clarity is an understatement!! So far these top everything I've owned!! ( powered again by AE 8to12, 5/30,4/10.. sub still Audiofrog.. I didn't jump on that basso 10 sale quick enough!!! )  

I'd be more stealth for sure.. how much?
