Status: Regular Full-time

Sunnybrook Research Institute is seeking a highly-motivated Research Assistant to be part of a research team conducting health services and population health research focused on diabetes care and prevention. The successful candidate will be supporting multiple research and community-engagement projects in this role. Research activities include observational studies, clinical trials, community-based participatory research and implementation science. The successful candidate will join a team that includes researchers, healthcare providers, community agencies and people with lived experience. This is a work from home position, except as noted below.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate communication between the team members and internal and external stakeholders.
• Foster stakeholder engagement and maintaining relationships with project partners.
• Organize team meetings and engage with supervisors regularly to provide project status updates.
• Support research project activities (i.e., project management, prepare and submit REB applications, recruit study participants and obtain required documentations including informed consent).
• Collect, transcribe, organize, quality control and enter study-related data.
• Conduct general coding/analysis of qualitative data.
• Analyze data and prepare draft statistical reports and summaries.
• Perform literature searches on requested topics.
• Support the preparation of presentations, manuscripts and grant applications.
• Occasional in-person work at Sunnybrook or at community partner sites in Toronto and Peel.

Qualifications and skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in a health-related discipline, Master’s degree is an asset.
• At least 2 years’ experience in quantitative and/or qualitative research.
• TCPS CORE 2 certification and GCP certification (required within 4 weeks of hiring).
• Strong computer skills, particularly with database, spreadsheet and word processing.
• Organizational and time management skills, including multi-tasking and flexibility to adapt to changing workload.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Proven ability to learn new skills.
• Awareness and sensitivity to diverse communities and priority populations.
