It Works Book Review

I once took a business coaching course and part of the required reading was was a little book – actually more like a pamphlet called It Works by RHJ – the Famous Little Red Book That Makes Your Dreams Come True.

As I was organizing my home office yesterday, I came across this little gem, which I had forgotten all about.

What Is It Works About?

From the title you may have figured out that the book It Works is about manifesting your desires .

If you enjoyed the books:

• The Secret by Rhonda Byrne ,
• Ask and It Is Given by Esther and Jerry Hicks (you can read my Ask and It Is Given Review here ) or
• A Happy Pocket Full of Money (read my review here )

then It Works will be right up your alley.

What is Special About the It Works Book?

The It Works Book was written in 1926 by an author that goes by RHJ.

Weighing in at about 10 pages – depending on the version that you read – it is really lightweight and to the point.

It starts by defining the “secret” to obtaining what you want.

The next section outlines the 3 steps that you need to take to manifest the things you want.

And the last section is a little warning to be careful on what you ask.

That’s it.

It’s a 5 minute read that is clear and actionable.

Does It Work? (See What I Did There?)

Well, I did mention to you that I had forgotten all about this book – so clearly, I haven’t been doing these steps day after day.

However, the information in this pamphlet is the short version of what I read in the other books about manifesting that I mentioned above.

The author talks about:

• the power you have within you,
• the power of focus, and
• the power of gratitude.

Ever since I have started reading books about manifesting what you desire, my way of thinking and perspective has evolved.

I have to say that I have been happier with life in general and been much more flexible when dealing with potential obstacles.

It does seem that when you expect good things, good things tend to happen – even though they might not be the things that you initially set out to receive.

If that makes sense.

Maybe it’s the ability to see a silver lining where you may not have seen it before, call it appreciation for all the things and all the people, or bigger thinking – call it what you want.

But I can say that the It Works Book was definitely worth more than the 5 minutes it took me to read it.

And it fascinates me that this book was written almost 100 years ago.

You might think that “The Secret” is more of a modern concept. But clearly it is not.

The Chicago style supreme and cannolis are 10/10 AMAZING . My son got the pizza by the slice (which came with two). He loved it!

We got pepperoni, sausage, basil, mushrooms and ricotta for the deep dish. We loved the flavor of the sausage especially but everything was really good. Great flavor to the sauce. The servers were nice and it was a very laid back feel. We loved it and will definitely go back.

Delicious style deep dish for me and the husband and a New York Style thinner crust for the kiddos.

The place is super cool! Nice environment and cool decor. We have the Caprese salad and the Chicago Deep supreme and the cannoli. All of it was delicious. The pizza was so yummy and perfectly cooked, the homemade marinara sauce was perfect. The service was good too. Overall we will be back ! Highly recommend!!

Chicago Deep Dish Supreme !!!! Amazing!!

Went in for dinner last night. Ordered the caprese salad and a build your own pizza on hand tossed crust. The salad was fresh and delicious. Next time we'll ask for more balsamic dressing. The pizza was very good. LOVED the thin crust! The menu is a little confusing as far as how much a build your own is. Ours had 6 toppings and was priced as a supreme. Totally fine, just confusing. The atmosphere was very quiet until someone started playing music on their phone and then they turned their music up. The place has a better vibe with music. It's BYOB. We sat at the bar. It is very uncomfortable. The bar doesn't hang over much. It would be much better with a 12 inch overhang. We will definitely be back for more pizza!

My new favorite pizza place! New York style for me. Home dressing and Italian salsa awesomeness

We got a supreme deep dish and it was great. Service was great and the restaurant is cute as well, glad to have this place close to home.

Good food, nice pizza. Chicago style was a little more soupy than one would like but atmosphere and wait staff were excellent.

Very disappointed in the pizza I got today.... I have ordered this pizza many times and never had it come this way. Ordered the deep dish pizza. Came with an absolute ridiculous amount of cheese, almost no sauce at all and the crust was super thin. I ordered it Denton style wich they took as put 4x the cheese on a thin crust pizza and charge 35 for it... I have loved this place since I was a kid in Denton, but the pizza I received today wasn't edible.....

Amazing food! I am very picky about my pizza. This place is a hidden gem in Gainesville. Everyone go here to eat pizza. I had a salad and a Chicago style pizza. So good! I'm coming back and trying the New York style. Everything is in house made. The dough, the sauce, the dips. The ambiance is a laid back and the service is great. Fresh everything.

When you walk in, the aroma of fresh baking pizza triggers your memory and takes you back in time to all those mom & pop Italian restaurants you experienced growing up. Most are gone but a few still exist; and, this one carries those traditions forward. And you can't help but find peace and enjoyment from every bite taken. From Berkeley, CA to Calzones in old Fresno (gone) to Gourmet in East Fresno (Gone) to Mikes Pizza in Fresno, to Benedetto's in Atwater (old CAFB gone) to Tarys Boscolo in Atwater, to Aldo's in Clovis (gone), to Luna's in Clovis, to Mario's in Albuquerque.. and then ... to St Joes in Gainesville - the new kid on the block. I'd say give them a shot...
