My favorite TV Program “Chhota Bheem – English Essay

My favourite TV program is “Chhota Bheem,” and it comes on every evening at 6:30 PM. I spend an hour each day watching TV, and this show is the highlight of my TV time. “Chhota Bheem” is an animated series full of adventures, and I love it because it’s funny and exciting.

I started liking it when my friend told me about the brave and smart little boy, Chhota Bheem, and his friends in the town of Dholakpur. The colourful animation and the interesting stories made me a big fan. The show teaches good values like friendship and bravery.

To make sure I never miss it, I finish my homework early, and my mom helps me set a reminder. If, for some reason, I can’t watch it, I feel a bit disappointed. But the good thing is that I can catch up on the episodes later online.

“Chhota Bheem” is not just a TV show for me; it’s like a fun journey with friends. I always look forward to the exciting adventures of Chhota Bheem and his pals!

Essay on my Favourite TV program – Class 6 Creative Writing

My favourite TV program is “Dino Discovery,” and it airs every Saturday at 5:00 PM. I spend about two hours a day watching TV, but Saturdays are special because of my favourite show. I love it because it’s about dinosaurs – my all-time favourite creatures! The show is both fun and educational, teaching me cool facts about different dinosaurs.

I make sure not to miss it by setting a reminder on my Tata Sky set-top box. Sometimes, I even finish my homework early so that nothing comes in the way of my favourite program. The feeling of watching “Dino Discovery” is like going on a thrilling adventure. The dinosaurs seem so real, and I learn new things each time.

If, by chance, I miss an episode, I feel a bit sad. But then I catch up online or ask my friends about it. Watching “Dino Discovery” makes me happy, and I look forward to it every week!

Our Sinhala Language Day Our Sinhala Day was held on July 12, 2016 under the guidance of our Sinhala teacher, Mr. Jayantha Weerasinghe. It was a Tuesday. The famous artiste Mr. Sahan Ranwala was our chief guest. We organized the program with the help of our teachers. The theme was ’Maubasa Surakimu’. Firstly we had competitions to select the children. We had essay writing, handwriting and dictation competitions. Our Sinhala language teacher advised us to bring the items used in old kitchens. All the students had brought items relevant to ancient times. Some students bought very old books. I saw ‘Pansiya Panas Jathakaya’ also. We organized an exhibition, dancing items, songs and a drama. I learned many things by seeing the exhibition. I must thank my Sinhala language teacher for organizing this event in a grand manner

Are we really so different? We are different from one another by qualities which are unique to us. But are we really so different? My neighbour who is a Maldivian, speaks Dhivehi, which I don’t understand. But English which is a universal language helps us to communicate freely. Not only language, even lifestyle, food, social standards and their culture too are different from ours. Apart from the differences, there are so many similarities. One such similarity is the need for education. This is very important as it drives away hardship and helps you face the world confidently. The need for money is also a similarity. Country to country the currency may differ, yet the purpose of money is the same. The need for happiness is another need. We all like to live well by interacting with neighbours, relations and friends. So we are not so different from each other after all.

The book I enjoyed The book I enjoyed most is called Cindrella. It is a children’s storybook. It is a beautiful fairytale. It is very popular among children of many countries. It is a story about an innocent girl. She becomes a princess.

Keeping our water sources clean

Water is very important for all human beings, animals and plants. Chemicals and other harmful substances pollute water. This would result in the pollution of streams, lakes, rivers and seas, Severe water pollution can kill large numbers of fish and other animals. People who use this polluted water can fall ill.

Humans pollute water in many ways. Insecticides, weedicides and fertilizers used in large quantities in farming are some examples of ways of polluting water. When it rains, these chemicals flow into streams, lakes and rivers. Harmful chemicals, gases and waste materials are also sometimes released from industrial factories into waterways.

We should control ways of water pollution. We can do this by helping to keep our sources of water clean. In agriculture we should not overuse chemicals. Another way of preventing water pollution is to build cleaning treatment plants in factories. If we stop throwing waste into lakes, rivers and seas they will be clean and beautiful forever.

Peace in Sri Lanka “Nobody prefers war because during war, fathers bury their sons and during peace, sons bury their fathers.” This was said by the famous philosopher and historian Herodotus. Peace in Sri Lanka is what everybody welcomes because everyone suffered greatly during the ethnic conflict which went on for two decades. During the war, people lived in constant fear and anxiety. There was much mental agony. The trials and tribulations they had to undergo then cannot be expressed in words. Peace is the need of the hour, because without it there will be severe economic hardship and mental trauma. We need to strive hard to achieve lasting peace in our motherland and make our island nation a resplendent land.

The uses of a library ‘Reading maketh a full man,’ is the voice of all the intelligent people. Today the world becomes a global village. Then we must improve our knowledge soon. We have to do more things with other countries.

As soon as we can use the library for reading and learning, we can learn many different languages and cultures from the books. It is important to us because we have to speak with other people and the library helps us for that. Many different reading materials are available in the library. We can borrow books and reading materials from the library. We can invent some things with the help of technology books. We can know about our country details, sports and other details from newspapers and magazines.

However, some people destroy the library books. They tear off and remove pages and scribble on the pages. We must protect the library like our eyes. We must protect our libraries for our future generation.

10 Popular TV Programmes That Any Sri Lankan 90s Kid Would Know .

  • October 17, 2019

Adorned with the mesmerizing voice of Saman Athaudahetti, Manohari wasn't just another music programme on TV. It was more of a metaphorical poem. Aside from presenting some of the best instrumental and vocal talents that we've ever seen, this programme managed to create a whole generation of people who admire the beauty of local music.

Instead of limiting themselves to a single studio, Manohari was taped as a live programme with an audience, in different locations. Thilanka Hotel – Kandy and Galleface Hotel – Colombo to name a couple.

The Siha Shakthi band led by Ananda Perera was quite the buzz back then, and they were one of the bands who directed music for Manohari. The popular musician Jagath Wickremasinghe also contributed to the same aspect.

This programme gave exposure and the opportunity to both experts and novels in the industry at the time – from Pandit W. D. Amaradeva, and Clarence Wijewardena to Nirosha Virajini.

A deep, solemn voice that conquered the television, radio and stage – Arun Dias Bandaranaike is like the James Earl Jones in Sri Lanka. Kada Malla was a documentary programme on television that he hosted. Capturing things in our ordinary lives and presenting them from an interesting perspective, it was one brilliant programme on Jathika Rupavahini we had the privilege of watching back then.

Daintee Rasa Pana

my favourite tv programme essay in sri lanka

Source: contact-lk.blogspot.com , srilankan-style.com

Ah, Daintee toffee! One of the many, many sweets that us 90s kids used to gorge on. Daintee Rasa Pana, on the other hand, was a programme on ITN, sponsored by them. This was actually a competition for little ones, and at the end of that, win or lose, you get boxes and boxes of Daintee toffee as gifts.

It was through this programme that we heard the loving, energetic voices of Thilaka Ranasinghe and Dharma Sri Wickremasinghe.

Namayayi Paha

The charismatic voice of Hema Nalin Karunaratne, combined with his meticulous attention to detail created this aptly named program – "Namayayi Paha". It was another superb documentary programme that was broadcasted on Jathika Rupavahini every Sunday, sharp at 09.05 PM. Highlighting the rare, unusual things that one might notice in their day-to-day life, it was absolutely interesting.

In 1999, a TV channel in Sri Lanka won an international award for a music programme for the first time in history. The Sony Video Contest held in Tokyo, Japan, offered this award to "Miyurusara", a production by Jathika Rupawahini. The songs we watched in this programme had some touching music videos too.

I remember enjoying "Senkadagala Dilena" by Rodni Warnakulasooriya, and "Matha Wara Waranindunta" by Rathna Lalani during an episode they broadcasted during avurudu (new year) season.

Remember this song? This is the theme song of the Muthuhara, which is in fact, known as the first children's programme in the television history of Sri Lanka. Muthuhara Club Network was established in the 80s and with the help of Jathika Rupavahini, it expanded to cities, town and villages all over the country.

Showcasing the talents of the children and youth of Muthuhara Club Network was the purpose of this show.

During the late 90s, there was a rapid change in the music industry in Sri Lanka. A range of new music bands and singers with different music styles were born during this period. Mandakini programme aired on Jathika Rupavahini was an opportunity for those musicians to present their talents while generating a fan base for themselves.

Kalaa Rasaanga

Hosted by Francis Wanniarachchi, the veteran stage drama producer and actor, Kalaa Rasanga was a programme that appreciated the stage drama culture in Sri Lanka. Him being an expert in the same area added an extra layer of depth to this show.

Nandana Windana

"Nandana Vindana" on Jathika Rupavahini was like an icon that represents Sri Lanka's classical music. Many amateur and veteran singers and musicians could be spotted in this programme.

These are 10 of the many interesting TV programmes we watched back then. If you can remember more of them or had a favourite, please do let us know in the comments.

  • Descriptive Essay: My Favourite TV Programme

The television (TV) is part and parcel of many households. Therefore, watching television is a culture of today’s modern society. It is a favourite past-time of many people, cutting across the culture, creed, gender and age. I must admit that I too enjoy “sitting glued” to the TV as mum often laments. Since I watch TV whole day long, I don’t blame mum. However, whenever I watch my favourite TV programme she doesn’t complain. In fact, she often sits together to watch it, the ‘National Geographic’. The National Geographic is a well-known documentary programme, focusing mainly on the ever-changing world, on Mother Earth and on nature and peoples and creatures that colour it with. Just the press of a switch and a button and ‘Hey Presto!’, the whole world is brought before me, for me to savour its beauty and wonders. Personally, I am often awed and amazed with them. I like this programme because it is very educational. It is a ‘window to the world’. By watching it, I can ‘travel’, ‘explore’ and ‘discover’ the four corners of the world. I have trekked up the highest peak and conquered Mt. Everest. I have dived down the deepest trenches. I have walked through the wilderness and be amongst the wild beasts, big and small. Thus, this programme has helped to expand my horizon and improve my knowledge and experience. I can proudly say I am no more a ‘frog in the well’. I also enjoy watching the National Geographic because it is entertaining, interesting and stimulating. I never imagined that such an educational programme can be very enjoyable. I get a chance to enjoy the kaleidoscope of sights, sounds and colours of the world and its different peoples, all in the comfort of my own home. In addition to that, this programme is of very high quality and it is produced by a team of experts, all are authorities in their own field of interest. The photographic footage is extremely breath-taking and inspiring. Besides, the narration is very accurate, informative, vivid and descriptive. Thus, I have never felt restless, distracted or bored watching this programme. The National Geographic is my favourite programme as it has helped me to ‘grow’ and ‘mature’. I have watched it since I was a seven-year-old innocent child. Now, I am more sensitive and aware of the world and Mother Earth. I learn to be more appreciative of Mother Earth and its beauty and wonders. I am more concern about the preservation and conservation of the world not only now but also for posterity. In short, the National Geographic has converted me into a more responsible citizen of the world and a caretaker of Mother Earth. It is a touching and heart-warming TV programme and I will not hesitate to recommend it to others so that they too have a chance to savour amazing moments and appreciate and care for the one and only world we live in.

Paragraph, Essay and Speech on “My Favorite TV Programme” Paragraph for Class 9, Class 10, Class 12 Class and Graduate Exams.

My Favorite TV Programme

I watch TV programmes. My favorite TV programme is Discovery. There are many places of historical interest in India and all over the world. It is not possible for a man to go to those places in in person and see with his own eyes. A person may have much money but time, health and other circumstances may not permit him to go and see the places. But he can see and enjoy the places on the TV screen at a little cost. He need not spend much money and take much labour to visit those places. Discovery programme performs this very thing and serves our purpose of seeing the place of historical interest. I see all these places where I have not been. I come to know about those places and their importance. It teaches us many things. In a word it is very much instructive, informative and interesting.
