Mammootty-Akhil Akkineni's 'Agent' review: A moderately engaging spy action thriller

Mammootty-Akhil Akkineni starrer Telugu film 'Agent', directed by Surender Reddy, is an engaging spy action thriller that occasionally tests your patience.

The performances are quite good. Akhil Akkineni is the right choice to play the unpredictable, wild character that was envisioned by the makers. Mammootty plays to perfection his usual restrained self as a high-ranked officer Mahadevan, who is part of the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).

However, the plotline is filled with over-the-top action forms, which is a huge setback for the film. Poor editing and unreal VFX effects also mar the watching experience.

One can't overlook the film's similarities with the Shah Rukh Khan-Deepika Padukone blockbuster 'Pathaan', though the latter's high-octane action scenes were enjoyable despite it questioned logic.

The plot of 'Agent' treads a familiar action-spy-thriller path - you have a villain who has an emotional backstory as to why he ends up being the most wanted criminal in the world and a rebel hero. The villain's bruised past and highly-egoistic nature make him a huge threat to the nation which locks him in the bad-boy hero and Mahadevan's radar.

Akhil Akkineni plays the ethical hacker who dreams to be a RAW agent. He uses dubious methods to convince RAW officer Mahadevan that he is capable of being part of their high-risk missions. Why he is desperate to join RAW is woven well into the story in the second half, but some of his actions in the preceding scenes defy logic.

Bollywood actor Dino Morea who made his Telugu debut playing the 'God' in the film was convincing. He manages to draw applause in one scene, when he makes a grand entry into the RAW office.

Meanwhile, the romance angle in the story is very weak which could have been avoided altogether. Even the songs don't go in sync with the proceedings. Despite all these, the film has its moments.

Agent (2023) Telugu Movie: What's Behind

King Nagarjuna's son Akhil scored a decent hit with Most Eligible Bachelor and is now on a mission to get a mass image with his spy thriller Agent. Akhil is aiming for the starts with Agent as the film directed by Surender Reddy is releasing in various languages. Akhil transformed his physique working hard for months while Surender Reddy braved the covid virus and producers overcame the spiralling budget to release the film in theatres. The action-packed teaser and trailer increased expectations on the film. Let us find out whether Akhil created a mass mania with Agent. The film's OTT rights have been bagged by Sony Liv and streaming will be after the theatrical run.

Agent Movie: Story Review

Agent Story is all about a youngster who aspires to become a RAW agent and how he resolves that fight between God and the Devil. Rikki aka Rama Krishna (Akhil), is an ethical hacker dreams of becoming a RAW agent since his childhood. But he fails in his attempts to clear the exam due to his weird ways.

But a sudden turn of events finds himself interacting with the RAW chief Colonel Mahadev (Mammootty) known as Devil for his ruthless patriotism and comes to know about the God (Dino Maria) and his Mission Rabbit. To find out more about Mission Rabbit, Syndicate and how it is linked to Minister Jai Kishen (Sampath Raj) and what role Vidya (Sakshi Vaidya) played, enjoy Agent in action on the big screen.

Agent Movie: Artists Review

Akhil underwent a remarkable transformation for the role of Agent. He shed his loverboy image and showed variations in his expressions, dialogue delivery, and mannerisms. To the top of it, he enacted deadly, breathtaking, and risky stunts and action sequences. He also entertained delivering dialogues in a Telangana accent. He did everything that was required of him by the director and tried to carry the film on his shoulders. If he improves to showcase more intensity, he will reach the next level. He looked stylish and cool on the screen.

Mammootty made his presence felt with his sedate performance. Though his screen presence is good, his role did not get much elevation. Dino Maria who played the antagonist role just passed through the motions. His role looked routine. Sakshi Vaidya looked hot and gorgeous on the screen. She got limited scope to showcase her acting talent. Sampath Raj and Varalakshmi Sarathkumar got limited roles. Others like Murali Sharma, Posani Krishna Murali, and Vikramjit played blink-and-miss roles. Urvashi Rautela did a special song and she looked raunchy as usual.

Agent Movie: Technicians Review

Agent story is penned by Vakkantam Vamsi and Surender Reddy planned to showcase Akhil in a completely different avatar and present him the action hero image. Vakkantam Vamsi's story lacked originality and everything seems to be inspired by the previous spy thrillers. Vamsi failed to even live up to those inspirations from the previous films. The story turned substandard and from then on it is a downside for the Agent team.

The film never took off right from the start. Surender Reddy started the narration in a typical manner establishing the conflict and then he tried to show variation in Akhil's characterization showing him as a weird person who operates in his own way. To some extent it attracts but he did it too much and this ended up irritating the movie lovers.

With no real twists and turns in the spy thriller and a lack of emotional connection, Agent failed big time. With the story going on a predictable note and the weak characterization of the lead roles played by Akhil, Mammootty, and Dino Maria, it tested the patience of all. Many after a sedate start and routine high octane interval block that is routine, expected the story to take off to another level. However, it turned from bad to worse. Silly scenes loaded with the senseless screenplay, directionless direction, and stale script spoiled not only the second half but the entire film.

Hip Hop Tamizha's songs did not make any impact. Songs are forgettable though they are shot in a lavish manner. His background music is below average and followed the same template. Most of the time it is loud. Rasool Ellore's cinematography is good at times but most of the time it left a lot to be desired. The editing of Naveen Nooli left a lot to be desired. There are many repetitive scenes and routine flavors. Dialogues are pretty ordinary and below average. Production values of AK Entertainments, Surender 2 Cinema are lavish.

Altogether, Agent turns out to be a disaster. Akhil dedicated his entire energy and put in his heart and soul into the project. He worked strenuously for his role and even showed it on screen changing his mannerisms, and expressions completely doing away with the lover boy image. But Vakkantam Vamsi came with an atrocious and senseless story and people wonder how Akhil gave the green signal. Surender Reddy who is known for his stylish entertainers and action flicks, failed in big time with his spineless script, screenplay, and direction. He failed to elevate Akhil's heroism in his character and in turn turned it into a laughing stock. With no real twists and turns and hero elevations, entertainment and emotions. Agent's mission failed even before it began. Considering all these elements, Cinejosh goes with a 2 Rating for Agent .

అక్కినేని ఫ్యామిలీ హీరోలకు రొమాంటిక్ ఇమేజ్ ఉంది. అయితే, తనకు యాక్షన్ సినిమాలు అంటే ఇష్టమని అఖిల్ అక్కినేని (Akhil Akkineni) చెప్పేశారు. అంతే కాదు... 'ఏజెంట్' (Agent Movie) కోసం వైల్డ్ యాక్షన్ హీరోగా అయిపోయారు. సిక్స్ ప్యాక్ చేశారు. హెయిర్ స్టైల్ మార్చారు. ఆయనకు తోడు మమ్ముట్టి (Mammootty) ప్రధాన పాత్రలో నటించిన, సురేందర్ రెడ్డి (Surender Reddy) దర్శకత్వం వహించిన ఈ సినిమా (Agent Review) ఎలా ఉంది?

కథ (Agent Movie Story) : రిక్కీ అలియాస్ రామకృష్ణ (అఖిల్ అక్కినేని)కి 'రా' ఏజెంట్ అవ్వాలని కోరిక. ఇంట్లో చెప్పకుండా మూడుసార్లు ఎగ్జామ్ రాస్తాడు. ఆ మూడుసార్లూ ఇంటర్వ్యూలో రిజక్ట్ అవుతాడు. లాభం లేదనుకుని 'రా' చీఫ్ డెవిల్ అలియాస్ మహాదేవ్ (మమ్ముట్టి) సిస్టమ్ హ్యాక్ చేస్తాడు. రిక్కీ చేసిన పని వల్ల మహాదేవ్ దృష్టిలో అయితే పడతాడు గానీ జాబ్ రాదు. ఈ లోపు వైద్య (సాక్షి వైద్య)తో ప్రేమలో పడతాడు రిక్కీ. ఏజెంట్ అయ్యే ఒక్క లక్షణం కూడా రిక్కీలో లేదని చెప్పేసి వెళ్ళిన మహాదేవ్... గతంలో ఆయన కోసం పని చేసి, ఆ తర్వాత రెబల్ కింద మారి దేశానికి పెను ముప్పుగా మారిన గాడ్ అలియాస్ ధర్మ (డినో మోరియా)ను చంపడానికి రిక్కీని ఎందుకు ఎంపిక చేసుకున్నారు? మిషన్ మొదలైన తర్వాత మహాదేవ్ ఆదేశాలను పక్కన పెట్టిన రిక్కీ ఎటువంటి ప్రమాదాలు ఎదుర్కొన్నాడు? సెంట్రల్ మినిష్టర్ జయకిషన్ (సంపత్ రాజ్)ను ఎందుకు చంపాడు? వంటి ప్రశ్నలకు సమాధానాలు సినిమా చూసి తెలుసుకోవాలి. 

విశ్లేషణ (Agent Movie Review Telugu) : రా ఏజెంట్స్ (గూఢచారి) నేపథ్యంలో వచ్చే చిత్రాలు అన్నీ దాదాపు ఒకేలా ఉంటాయనే విమర్శ ఉంది. ప్రతి సినిమాలో దేశం కోసం ప్రాణాలు ఇవ్వడానికి సైతం వెనుకాడని హీరో, ఇండియా నాశనమే ప్రధాన లక్ష్యంగా పనిచేసే శత్రుమూకలు, వాటిని అడ్డుకోవడమే లక్ష్యంగా పని చేసే 'రా' (ఇంటిలిజెన్స్) వంటి సంస్థలు!

'రా' సినిమాల్లో కథలు, కథాంశాలు ఒకేలా ఉన్నప్పటికీ... థియేటర్లలో చివరి వరకూ కూర్చోబెట్టే ఒకే ఒక్క ఎమోషన్ దేశభక్తి. ప్రేక్షకుడిలో దేశభక్తిని బలంగా బయటకు రప్పించగలిగితే చాలు... సినిమా హిట్టే. అందుకు రీసెంట్ 'పఠాన్' ఉదాహరణ. ఆ సినిమా ప్రస్తావన ఎందుకంటే... 'ఏజెంట్'లో కొన్ని సన్నివేశాలు, క్యారెక్టర్లు చూస్తే షారుఖ్ మూవీ గుర్తుకు వస్తుంది. 'పఠాన్' విడుదల కంటే ముందు 'ఏజెంట్' స్టార్ట్ చేశారు. యాదృశ్చికమో, మరొకటో... రెండు సినిమాల్లో కొన్ని సిమిలారిటీస్ ఉన్నాయి.

గూఢచారి నేపథ్యంలో వచ్చిన సినిమాలన్నీ పక్కన పెట్టేసి... 'ఏజెంట్'ను చూసినా ఆకట్టుకోవడం కష్టమే. దేశభక్తితో కాదు, భారత ఇంటిలిజెన్స్ వ్యవస్థ మీద మరీ చిన్నచూపుతో సినిమా తీశారనిపిస్తుంది. మన 'రా' (రీసెర్చ్ అండ్ ఏనాలసిస్ వింగ్) ఎలా పనిచేస్తుంది? అని మినిమమ్ రీసెర్చ్ కూడా దర్శక, రచయితలు చేసినట్టు లేరు. కామెడీ కాకపోతే... 'రా' హెడ్ ఆఫీసులో జరిగే ప్రతి విషయాన్ని సీసీ కెమెరా ఫుటేజ్ చూసినట్టు దేశద్రోహులు చూడటం ఏమిటి? 'రా' ఆఫీస్ ముందు ఏకంగా హెలికాఫ్టర్ వేసుకుని దిగటం ఏమిటి? సినిమాటిక్ లిబర్టీ తీసుకున్నారని ఎంత సరిపెట్టుకుందామని కొన్ని అంశాలు అసలు మింగుడుపడవు. ఎట్ లీస్ట్... దీని కంటే ముందు రా నేపథ్యంలో వచ్చిన యాక్షన్ సీన్లు కాకుండా కథలపై ఫోకస్ చేస్తే ఇంకా మంచి కథ వచ్చేది!

అఖిల్ అక్కినేనిని దర్శకుడు సురేందర్ రెడ్డి స్టైలిష్ గా ప్రజెంట్ చేశారు. ఆయన ఇప్పటి వరకు తీసిన సినిమాల్లో ఇది స్టైలిష్ యాక్షన్ ఫిల్మ్ అని చెప్పవచ్చు. కానీ, కథ ఆ స్టైలును వెనక్కి లాగింది. పరమ రొటీన్, లాజిక్ లెస్, సోల్ లెస్, ఎమోషన్ లెస్ కథతో సినిమా తీశారు. ఏ దశలోనూ ఈ కథ, సన్నివేశాలు మనలో దేశభక్తిని బయటకు తీసుకు రావు. భావోద్వేగానికి గురి చేయవు. హీరో మిషన్ ఎగ్జైటింగ్ అనిపించలేదు. 

పాటలు, నేపథ్య సంగీతం సోసోగా ఉన్నాయి. రసూల్ ఎల్లోర్ సినిమాటోగ్రఫీ చాలా నీట్ గా, స్టైలిష్ గా ఉంది. నిర్మాత అనిల్ సుంకర ఖర్చుకు అసలు వెనుకాడలేదని ప్రతి సన్నివేశంలో తెలుస్తూ ఉంటుంది. ఫస్టాఫ్ పర్వాలేదనే ఫీలింగ్ కలుగుతుంది. కానీ, సెకండాఫ్ ఇబ్బంది పెడుతుంది. హీరో క్యారెక్టరైజేషన్ ఒక్కటీ కొంచెం కొత్తగా ట్రై చేశారు. యాక్షన్ ఎపిసోడ్స్ కొన్ని బావున్నాయి. 

నటీనటులు ఎలా చేశారు? : 'ఏజెంట్' కోసం అఖిల్ అక్కినేని పడిన కష్టం స్క్రీన్ మీద కనిపించింది. ప్యాక్డ్ బాడీ, హెయిర్ స్టయిల్ అభిమానులను, ప్రేక్షకులను ఆకట్టుకుంటాయి. నటుడిగానూ కొత్తగా కనిపించారు. మమ్ముట్టి గురించి కొత్తగా చెప్పేది ఏముంది? పాత్ర పరిధి మేరకు చేశారు. నటుడిగా ఆయన అనుభవం, ఇమేజ్ వల్ల క్యారెక్టర్ ఎలివేట్ అయ్యింది. డెవిల్ పాత్రలో డినో మోరియా నటన రెగ్యులర్ అయినప్పటికీ... సెట్ అయ్యింది. 

సాక్షి వైద్య క్యారెక్టర్ మూడు పాటలు, నాలుగైదు సన్నివేశాలు మాత్రమే పరిమితం అయ్యింది. నటిగా ఉన్నంతలో పర్వాలేదు. డ్రస్సింగ్, యాటిట్యూడ్ మోడ్రన్ గా ఉన్నాయి. కమర్షియల్ హీరోయిన్ మెటీరియల్ అనిపించుకుంటారు. సాక్షి వైద్య పాత్రకు తెలంగాణ యాస పెట్టడం సెట్ కాలేదు. అది ఫోర్స్డ్ గా ఉంది. మురళీ శర్మ, సంపత్ రాజ్, పోసాని కృష్ణమురళీ, భరత్ రెడ్డి తదితరులకు నటించే అవకాశం రాలేదు. రెండు మూడు సీన్లు చేసుకుంటూ వెళ్ళారు.

వరలక్ష్మీ శరత్ కుమార్ క్యారెక్టర్ అయితే జూనియర్ ఆర్టిస్ట్ అన్నట్టు ఉంది. కథలో, సన్నివేశాల్లో ఆమెకు ఇంపార్టెన్స్ లేదు. ప్రేక్షకులకు తెలిసిన ముఖ్యలు కొన్ని కనిపిస్తాయి. అయితే, థియేటర్ నుంచి బయటకు వచ్చేటప్పుడు వాళ్ళు గుర్తుండటం కష్టమే.

చివరగా చెప్పేది ఏంటంటే? : ఇప్పటి వరకు వెండితెరపై గూఢచారి నేపథ్యంలో వచ్చిన సినిమాల్లో సన్నివేశాలను మరోసారి చూసిన ఫీలింగ్ ఇచ్చే సినిమా 'ఏజెంట్'. ఇందులో కొత్తదనం ఏమీ లేదు. మేకోవర్, ఫిజికల్ ట్రాన్స్‌ఫర్మెషన్ పరంగా అఖిల్ అదరగొట్టినా... సినిమా డిజప్పాయింట్ చేస్తుంది. అఖిల్ ఫ్యాన్స్, యాక్షన్ ఫిల్మ్ లవర్స్ తక్కువ అంచనాలు పెట్టుకుని థియేటర్లకు వెళితే మంచిది. అఖిల్ కోరుకున్న యాక్షన్ ఇమేజ్, సాలిడ్ సక్సెస్ 'ఏజెంట్' ఇవ్వడం కష్టమే.

Agent movie review: Akhil Akkineni actioner is hardly entertaining

Agent movie review: the film falls somewhere between a larger-than-life surender reddy presentation and an akhil akkineni movie, but fails to belong to either end of the spectrum..

After the huge period movie Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy (2019), director Surender Reddy took up the task of giving Akhil Akkineni a mass makeover with Agent. Akhil’s last outing was Most Eligible Bachelor with director Bhaskar, which was just average. Surender Reddy continues his association with writer Vakkantham Vamshi for this project too; they have given hits like Oosaravelli, Race Gurram, Kick 2 together.

Just like any other action film, Agent too has a thin storyline. It is the story of a guy called Ramakrishna/ Rikki/ Wild Saala (Akhil Akkineni), whose only target in life is to become a RAW agent. He has been working his whole life with this sole ambition, but has been rejected by the agency time and again. He worships RAW chief Mahadev/ Devil ( Mammootty ) whom he hopes to impress and join the force. Mahadev is currently fighting a group called the Syndicate, headed by Dharma/God (Dino Morea), with home minister Jaya Shankar being a crucial part of the gang. They are on the verge of activating ‘super cells’ and Mahadev aims to stop them at any cost. What these super cells mean, how dangerous they are is not known.

Mahadev and Dharma have a past connection, as the latter was once his best agent. Dharma worked only for the appreciation of Mahadev and to be accepted by all as the best agent of all time. How did Dharma become the bad guy, why Rikki is being rejected by RAW, and what role he plays in the fight between Mahadev and Dharma forms the rest of the film.

Comparisons with the recent spy film Pathaan are bound to happen. Agent also tries to capture all the elements of an international spy adventure, but flounders in several respects. Director Surender Reddy is known for stylish and emotional action adventures. Here, the emotional connection is absent, and when it shows up, it is too weak and too late. The film, however, goes all guns blazing in the action department, which becomes mind-numbing after a while. Akhil’s natural charm is downplayed here as makers stick to the muscular, goon-bashing template required for an action hero. Even the romance angle gets a short shrift in favour of action. The romantic interest, played by Sakshi Vaidya hardly gets space enough to connect with the audience. The second half, which offers some explanation to the ‘Wild Saala’ identity of the hero, keeps the most necessary pointers till too late.

Akhil worked very hard in this action avatar, and it shows. Mammotty looks the part of RAW chief while Dino does justice to the role of the villain; we would like to see him in more South ffilms. Debutant Sakshi Vaidya has a glam part and little else.

Rasool Ellore’s camera is impressive. HipHop Tamizha’s songs are passable but the background score impresses in parts. Vakkantham Vamshi’s story follows a typical action film pattern and sticks to that. Somewhere between a huge Surender Reddy film and Akhil Akkineni film, Agent falters in truly belonging to either zone and ends up as an average action film.

RAW chief Mahadev alias Devil ( Mammootty) is on a special assignment to tackle the International syndicate led by God ( Dino Morea). Ramakrishna alias Rikky alias Wild (Akhil Akkineni) is an ethical hacker whose ambition is to work for RAW. Ramakrishna uses all his tricks to get attention from Mr. Mahadev but fails largely. At some point Mahadev hires RK on special task to nab the international don. Rest of the story is why in first place the GOD turned badass? how he was confronted by ‘Wild’.

Core point of AGENT has slight resemblance to recent hindi filmPathaan. In both films Ex-RAW agents turn international mafia kingpin to unleash mayhem against India.Root cause for their change is also same in both films.In addition, in both films the heroes are the current RAW agents deployed on a foreign mission. Coming to the content, it is very amateurish right from the word go. When an international spy film is attempted, it takes a lot of budget. In this film the production values are pretty good but the story and direction are not up to the mark . Though cinematic liberty, many of the scenes make you cringe. The songs placement is unarguably worst in the recent years

Akhil has tried his best in the dual shaded Rikky role. The amateurish characterization played spoilsport to his efforts. Sakshi Vaidya as Akhil’s love interest has negligible role in the film. Mammootty as RAW chief is good. Ex- Model Dino Morea is a misfit as mafia don.

Verdict: AGENT film has a weak script double down with a bad direction and topped with worst music. Everything went wrong with this farcical action film. Akhil’s characterization backfires, Dino Morea as the villain is a miscast. It is difficult to sit through this silly film.

Agent review: It’s mission unaccomplished!

Despite Akhil Akkineni's efforts, slow narration, boring treatment, and poor visual effects don't add value to Surender Reddy's latest directorial.

Director Surender Reddy’s much-awaited spy thriller Agent , starring Akhil Akkineni in the lead role, is finally out in the theatres today, 28 April.

The film, which went through many hurdles due to the Covid-19 lockdowns, has managed to pique the interest of audiences. Let’s see how far it succeeds in keeping them engaged and entertained.

Ramakrishna aka Ricky (Akhil Akkineni) aims to be a RAW Agent. When his repeated attempts to enter RAW fail, Ricky finally hacks RAW chief Mahadev aka Devil’s computer (Mammootty) to fall in his eyes.

Impressed by Ricky’s abilities, Devil assigns Ricky the task of taking on God, a dreaded crime lord (Dino Morea). God is against India and planning a mission to destroy India.

How Ricky takes on God and how he succeeds in destroying God’s mission against India is the story of Agent .

Surender Reddy’s mark missing

Agent has a wafer-thin storyline. Only impressive treatment and narration can keep the audience engaged with such a simple story. Unfortunately, the movie fails even in this aspect.

Added to this, routine treatment and a slow pace turn Agent into a passable fare. One wonders if is this a Surender Reddy directorial.

The director is known for coming up with interesting storylines and elevating them with racy narration and stylish presentation. All those are apparently missing in Agent !

Akhil’s efforts go in vain

Akhil Akkineni tried his best and worked hard for Agent . The way he transformed his physique and performed in action sequences and dances shows his efforts for this high-budget action thriller.

But that’s it! Every other aspect of the film is simply forgettable.

Even Akhil appears to be miscast for the role. The quirky and wild characterisation of Agent fails to impress the audience.

Mammootty is adequate as a RAW official.

Dino Morea appears on the screen after a long time in a negative role.

Apart from these three roles, no other actor has any significant role to play. Female lead Sakshi Vaidya appears in songs and a couple of romantic scenes which are in no way related to the main plot.

Technical crew lag behind

Being a high-octane spy action thriller, Agent needs the best efforts from the technical crew.

Rasool Ellore’s cinematography is fine. But visual effects fail to impress.

A couple of action episodes are fine.

There are no great songs and misplacing of songs spoils the narration.

The background score by Hip-hop Tamizha is in tune with the overall feel of the movie.

Editor Navin Nooli should have cut the movie short by at least 20-30 minutes as audiences feel bored and unrelated in many scenes.

Sadly, the much-awaited Agent fails to accomplish his only mission: impress the audience.

Despite good efforts from Akhil Akkineni, one keeps wondering if this action thriller is directed by Surender Reddy.

Agent Movie Review: Akhil Akkineni’s hard work is wasted in this disastrous film

Akhil akkineni shines in some of the action sequences but the story and his characterization are very poorly written, says our review..

It’s not easy being born in an eminent film family, since expectations are always high. Nagarjuna’s son and Naga Chaitanya’s younger brother, Akhil Akkenini, made his debut in Telugu cinema in 2015, but is yet to make a powerful impact on the audience. Agent, directed by Surender Reddy, came with a lot of hype thanks to the numerous high-octane stunts Akhil performed on and off screen for this film. Did Agent live up to the hype?

Unfortunately, this plan fails and his father (Murali Sharma) keeps lamenting that he is a good-for-nothing. In the meantime, he also falls for a young good-looking NASA trainee (Sakshi Vaidya) and romance blossoms. When he’s out on a date, Rikki bumps into the Devil and takes up the challenge of killing a man. The Devil then hires him as an agent – with NO training whatsoever - and gives him the mission of finding God (Dino Morea), a former RAW agent who has gone rogue. God’s design is to destroy India while the Devil wants to save the country. Does Rikki catch God and put an end to his plan?

Director Surender Reddy has tried to give Akhil a complete action film where he is totally fit and can show off his physique while performing daredevil stunts. That’s the only good part about this film. Right from the get go, the movie has so many logical loopholes that it is truly ‘wild’. It is ridiculous that Rikki, who seems to suffer from serious mental health issues, gets hired as an agent with no training. What is worse is him knowing how to fire every type of conceivable weapon and taking pleasure in killing people randomly.

It is evident that Akhil Akkineni worked hard for this movie, but his character is all over the place. Sometimes there is unnecessary over-acting by Rikki in some scenes, perhaps on the director’s demand. Moving to the romance in the film - it is a waste of space as it doesn’t add any merit to the film. Sakshi Vaidya is cute and she should ideally have had more to do in the film. Mammootty, as always, is stellar in his role and he breezes through it. Trying to create an emotional angle with the parents doesn’t work and one finds numerous characters (like Varalaxmi Sarathkumar) who have no relevance at all. But Dino Morea has tried to bring in some swag through his character.

The songs and music of the film by Hip Hop Aadhi are way below average and there needs to have been far better editing. The VFX is of poor quality and one wonders why, given the budget of the film.

The bottomline is that Akhil Akkineni’s character and the story of the film have been very poorly written. Like in Pathaan, we see a rogue RAW agent trying to destroy India, and like in Rambo, we see a beefed-up young man shooting massive weapons throughout the film. There is hardly a semblance of a plausible story in Agent and what is truly wild is that the writer and director thought this would make a good film.

‘డీజే టిల్లు’ చిత్రంతో ఒక్కసారిగా సినీప్రియుల్లో భారీ క్రేజ్‌ సంపాదించుకున్నాడు సిద్ధు జొన్నలగడ్డ. ఆ సినిమాలో టిల్లుగా అతడు చేసిన అల్లరి అందర్నీ కడుపుబ్బా నవ్వించింది. దీంతో ఇప్పుడా పాత్రతో మరోమారు థియేటర్లలో నవ్వులు పూయించేందుకు ‘టిల్లు స్క్వేర్‌’ వచ్చేశాడు. ఈసారి ఇందులో అనుపమ పరమేశ్వరన్‌ కథానాయికగా నటించింది. టీజర్, ట్రైలర్లలో చూపించిన కంటెంట్‌ ‘డీజే టిల్లు’ తరహాలోనే వినోదాత్మకంగా ఉండటం.. విడుదలకు ముందే పాటలు కూడా మంచి ఆదరణ దక్కించుకోవడంతో అందరి దృష్టి ఈ సీక్వెల్‌పైనా పడింది. మరి మరోసారి టిల్లు చేసిన సందడి సినీప్రియుల్ని నవ్వించిందా? కథేంటంటే: రాధిక (నేహాశెట్టి)తో పాత పంచాయితీ ముగిశాక టిల్లు (సిద్ధు జొన్నలగడ్డ) సొంతంగా ఈవెంట్‌ మేనేజ్‌మెంట్‌ కంపెనీ ప్రారంభిస్తాడు. పాత గొడవలన్నీ మర్చిపోయి మళ్లీ తనదైన శైలిలో సరదాగా జీవితాన్ని కొనసాగించే ప్రయత్నం చేస్తుంటాడు. సరిగ్గా అప్పుడే అతని జీవితంలోకి లిల్లీ (అనుపమ పరమేశ్వరన్‌) అనే మరో అందమైన అమ్మాయి ప్రవేశిస్తుంది. వాళ్లిద్దరూ అనుకోకుండా ఓ పబ్‌లో కలుసుకుంటారు. ముందు టిల్లు ఆమెతో మాట కలుపుతాడు. అతడి మాటలు.. వ్యవహారశైలి నచ్చి ఆమె తనతో పెదవి కలుపుతుంది. అంతే.. అదే రాత్రి ఇద్దరూ ఒక్కటవుతారు. కట్‌ చేస్తే తెల్లారేసరికి గదిలో ఒక లెటర్‌ పెట్టి లిల్లీ అక్కడ్నుంచి వెళ్లిపోతుంది. కానీ, ఆ ఒక్క పూటలోనే ఆమెను మనసంతా నింపేసుకున్న టిల్లు ఆ ఆలోచనలతో పిచ్చివాడైపోతాడు. ఆమెను వెతికి పట్టుకోవడం కోసం రకరకాల ప్రయత్నాలు చేస్తాడు. ఈ క్రమంలో నెల తర్వాత లిల్లీ ఓ ఆస్పత్రిలో టిల్లుకు ఎదురుపడుతుంది. తను గర్భవతినని చెప్పడంతో టిల్లు షాకవుతాడు. ఆ తర్వాత తనని పెళ్లి చేసుకుంటానని చెప్పి ఇంటికి తీసుకొస్తాడు. ఈలోపు మళ్లీ టిల్లు పుట్టినరోజు వస్తుంది. ఆరోజు లిల్లీ అతన్ని తన అపార్ట్‌మెంట్‌కు రావాలని కోరడంతో తను అక్కడికి వెళ్తాడు. తీరా చూస్తే అది రాధిక (నేహా శెట్టి) ఫ్లాట్‌. మరి అక్కడికి వెళ్లాక టిల్లుకు ఎదురైన సమస్య ఏంటి? రాధిక, లిల్లీకి మధ్య ఉన్న సంబంధం ఏంటి? దుబాయ్‌ నుంచి వస్తున్న మోస్ట్‌ వాంటెడ్‌ క్రిమినల్‌ షేక్‌ మహబూబ్‌ (మురళీశర్మ)కు ఈ కథకు ఉన్న లింకేంటి? (Tillu Square Review) అతన్ని చంపాల్సిన మిషన్‌లోకి టిల్లు ఎందుకొచ్చాడు? అన్నది మిగతా కథ.

ఎలా సాగిందంటే: ‘డీజే టిల్లు’లో కథ కంటే ఎక్కువగా ప్రేక్షకుల్ని కట్టిపడేసింది టిల్లు పాత్రను తీర్చిదిద్దుకున్న తీరే. ఆ పాత్రలో సిద్ధు జొన్నలగడ్డ చెప్పే సంభాషణలు.. అతని వ్యవహార శైలి.. పలికించే హావభావాలు అందర్నీ కడుపుబ్బా నవ్వించాయి. ‘కథ.. కాకరకాయ’ అంటూ లాజిక్‌లు వెతుక్కోవాల్సిన అవసరం లేకుండా దాదాపు 2గంటల పాటు థియేటర్లలో హాయిగా పడి పడి నవ్వుకునేలా చేశాయి. ఇప్పుడదే మ్యాజిక్‌ను ‘టిల్లు స్క్వేర్‌’తో మరోసారి పునరావృతం చేయడం కోసం సిద్ధు తన కలం బలంతో.. నటనా ప్రతిభతో శక్తివంచన లేకుండా కృషి చేశాడు. ఆ ప్రయత్నంలో విజయం సాధించాడు. ఈ సీక్వెల్‌ కథ కూడా తొలి భాగం తరహాలోనే సింపుల్‌ లైన్‌లో సాగిపోతుంది. కాకపోతే మరోసారి టిల్లు పాత్రే ఆ సాధారణమైన కథను అసాధారణమైన నటనతో అద్భుతంగా నిలబెట్టేసింది.

ఈ కథ తొలి భాగంలో జరిగిన కథతో కొంత వరకు ముడిపడి ఉంటుంది. అందుకే చిత్ర బృందం టైటిల్‌ కార్డ్స్‌తోనే తొలి భాగం కథను క్లుప్తంగా మరోసారి పరిచయం చేసే ప్రయత్నం చేసింది. ‘డీజే టిల్లూ చూడూ’ రీమిక్స్‌ పాటతో సిద్ధు పరిచయమైన తీరు ప్రేక్షకులకు హుషారు తెప్పిస్తుంది. ఇక అక్కడి నుంచి తొలి భాగాన్ని గుర్తు చేసేలాగే మరోసారి టిల్లు లైఫ్‌ సాగుతుంది. లిల్లీ పాత్ర పరిచయ సన్నివేశాలు.. టిల్లు ఠక్కున ఆమె మాయలో పడిపోవడం.. ఒక్క రాత్రిలోనే ఇద్దరూ ఒక్కటవ్వడం.. ఇలా అంతా రాధిక ఎపిసోడ్‌ మరోసారి లిల్లీ వెర్షన్‌లో పునరావృతమవుతున్నట్లు అనిపిస్తుంది. ఇక టిల్లు తన బర్త్‌డే పార్టీని వదిలేసి లిల్లీని వెతుక్కుంటూ పాత రాధిక అపార్ట్‌మెంట్‌కే వెళ్లడం.. ఆరోజు చేదు జ్ఞాపకాల్ని గుర్తు చేస్తూ మళ్లీ అదే సమస్యలోకి దిగడం ఆసక్తిరేకెత్తిస్తుంది. ఆ తర్వాత నుంచే ఈ కథలో కొత్త కోణం బయటకొస్తుంది. నిజానికి ఈ మధ్యలో సాగే తతంగమంతా కొందరికి పాత కథను మళ్లీ చూస్తున్నామన్న అనుభూతి కలిగించినా టిల్లు పాత్ర చేసే అల్లరితో అదంతా కొట్టుకుపోతుంది. దీనికి తోడు మధ్యలో టిల్లు-లిల్లీ మధ్య వచ్చే రొమాంటిక్‌ సన్నివేశాలు యువతరానికి కనుల విందుగా అనిపిస్తాయి. అలాగే ఆస్పత్రిలో టిల్లు ఫ్యామిలీకి.. లిల్లీ తండ్రికీ మధ్య జరిగే ఎపిసోడ్‌ కడుపుబ్బా నవ్విస్తుంది. ఇంటర్వెల్‌కు ముందు గంగ చంద్రముఖిగా మారినట్లుగా లిల్లీ ఓ కొత్త అవతారంలో తెరపైకి వచ్చి పడుతుంది. అది మరీ అంత థ్రిల్‌ ఇవ్వకున్నా ఫర్వాలేదనిపిస్తుంది.

ఇక ద్వితీయార్ధం షేక్‌ మహబూబ్‌ అలీని పట్టుకునే మిషన్‌ నేపథ్యంలో సాగుతుంది. అంత పెద్ద క్రిమినల్‌ను చంపడానికి టిల్లులాంటి సాధారణ వ్యక్తితో ఎలాంటి సాహసాలు చేయిస్తారన్న ఆసక్తి అందరిలోనూ కలుగుతుంది. నిజానికి ఆ ప్రయత్నం మరీ అంత థ్రిల్లింగ్‌గా సాగకున్నా ఎక్కడా బోర్‌ కొట్టించదు. ఇక ప్రీక్లైమాక్స్‌కు ముందు రాధిక పాత్ర కూడా కథలోకి దిగడంతో సినిమాలో వినోదం మరోసారి తారస్థాయికి వెళ్తుంది. (Tillu Square Review in telugu) ఈ క్రమంలో తన గతాన్ని గుర్తు చేసుకుంటూ టిల్లు చెప్పే సంభాషణలు నవ్విస్తాయి. క్లైమాక్స్‌ ఆద్యంతం ఉత్కంఠభరితంగా సాగినా.. అందులోని ట్విస్ట్‌ ఊహలకు అందేలాగే ఉంటుంది. ముగింపు సంతృప్తికరంగానే అనిపిస్తుంది.

ఎవరెలా చేశారంటే: టిల్లు పాత్రలో సిద్ధు జొన్నలగడ్డ తనదైన నటనతో మరోసారి కట్టిపడేశాడు. తన పాత్ర కోసం రాసుకున్న వన్‌ లైనర్‌ డైలాగ్‌లన్నీ హిలేరియస్‌గా పేలాయి. అతను తెరపై కనిపిస్తున్నంత సేపూ మాటల్ని తూటాల్లా పేల్చుతూనే ఉంటారు. అవన్నీ ప్రేక్షకులకు కావాల్సినంత వినోదాన్ని పంచిస్తాయి. కొన్ని సన్నివేశాల్లో పెద్దగా సంభాషణలు లేకున్నా.. హావభావాలతోనే నవ్వించే ప్రయత్నం చేశాడు. కాకపోతే అక్కడక్కడా వినిపించే కొన్ని ద్వంద్వార్థ సంభాషణలు కాస్త ఇబ్బంది పెడతాయి. లిల్లీ పాత్రలో అనుపమ తెరపై చాలా హాట్‌గా కనిపించింది. లిప్‌లాక్‌ల విషయంలో మొహమాట పడకుండా నటించింది. టిల్లు తల్లిదండ్రుల పాత్రలూ నవ్వులు పంచాయి. రాధిక పాత్రలో నేహా శెట్టి అతిథిలా తళుక్కున మెరిసింది. అలాగే ప్రియాంక జవాల్కర్‌ కూడా ఓ చిన్న పాత్రలో మెరిసింది. సినిమాలోని రెండు పాటలు తెరపైనా కనువిందు చేస్తాయి. భీమ్స్‌ నేపథ్య సంగీతం చక్కగా కుదిరింది. కూర్పు బాగా కుదిరింది. నిడివి తక్కువ ఉండటం కలిసొచ్చే అంశం. నిర్మాణ విలువలు ఉన్నతంగా ఉన్నాయి.

Tillu Square, the highly anticipated sequel to the crime comedy DJ Tillu, has finally hit theaters today, generating massive excitement. Directed by Mallik Ram, this film starring Siddhu Jonnalagadda and Anupama Parameswaran is already making waves.

Tillu Square X Review: Tillu Square, the hyped and much-awaited sequel of Siddhu Jonnalagadda's DJ Tillu, finally arrived on the big screens worldwide amid great enthusiasm. The movie which was directed by Mallik Ram was opened across theatres on March 29 to no competition. After the movie hit the screens in the USA and other parts of the world, blockbuster reviews are pouring in for Tillu Square, much to the excitement of the filmmakers, actors, and the fans.

Touted to be a dark crime-comedy drama, the movie features Anupama Parameswaran as the female lead character and will have another sequel to it. Ahead of the film's release, Siddhu Jonnalagadda said that there will be another sequel and the climax will be shocking to all. He also confirmed a cameo of an actress and it is none other than Neha Shetty, who played the infmaous 'Radhika' in DJ Tillu, reportedly.

Tillu Square Synopsis

After keeping the amount to himself after Radhika was imprisoned, Tillu becomes an event organizer but doesn't mend his ways. He again falls in love with Lilly from the moment he sets his eyes on her. He tries to woo her and follows her. Eventually, Tillu again lands in a big mess.

Tillu Square movie is drawing all the lime light this weekend and the movie is sure going to rock at the box office. The movie's pre-release business was also impressive and the digital streaming rights were sold for a whopping Rs 35 Crore, an envious deal.

ఆడుజీవితం అనే నవల ఆధారంగా ఈ ది గోట్ లైఫ్ మూవీ తెరకెక్కింది. కేరళకు చెందిన ఓ వలస కూలీ నజీబ్ నిజ జీవితంలో జరిగిన ఘటననే సినిమాగా తీశారు. ఇందులో ఆ నజీబ్ పాత్రను పృథ్వీరాజ్ సుకుమారన్ పోషించాడు. బ్లెస్సీ డైరెక్ట్ చేసిన ఈ సినిమా 2008లో అనుకుంటే.. మొత్తానికి 16 ఏళ్ల తర్వాత ఇప్పుడు ప్రేక్షకుల ముందుకు రాబోతోంది.

అయితే ఈమధ్యే ది గోట్ లైఫ్ మూవీ చూసిన తమిళ స్టార్ నటుడు కమల్ హాసన్ ప్రశంసల వర్షం కురిపించాడు. ఇదొక అద్భుతమైన సినిమా, ప్రేక్షకులు ఆదరించాలని అతడు కోరాడు. "బ్లెస్సీ హార్డ్ వర్క్ కు నేను థ్యాంక్స్ చెప్పాల్సిందే. నిజ జీవితంలో జరిగిన కథ ఇది. మణిరత్నం మూవీ చూసి ఈ పనితీరుకు ఆశ్చర్యపోయాడు.

ఇంటర్వెల్ సీన్ తర్వాత దాహం తీర్చుకోవడానికి బాగా నీళ్లు తాగాలని అనిపిస్తుంది. ఇందులో ఓ భిన్నమైన సినిమా తీయాలన్న నీ దాహం కూడా కనిపిస్తోంది. ముఖ్యంగా పృథ్వీరాజ్ స్నానం చేసే సీన్. నువ్వు ఇంత బాగా తీస్తావని ఊహించలేదు. అద్భుతమైన సినిమా. ప్రేక్షకులు కూడా ఆదరించాలి" అని కమల్ హాసన్ అన్నాడు.

ఇక మూవీకి పని చేసిన కెమెరా మ్యాన్ పైనా కమల్ ప్రశంసలు గుప్పించాడు. అటు దిగ్గజ దర్శకుడు మణిరత్నం కూడా ఈ సినిమాపై స్పందించాడు. "ఇది అద్భుతం. ఊపిరి బిగపట్టి చూసే సినిమా. మొత్తం విజువల్స్ అన్నీ. పృథ్వీరాజ్ చాలా బాగా చేశాడు. మొత్తం టీమ్ అసలు ఎలా చేశారో అర్థం కావడం లేదు. నీమీద అసూయ ఏమీ లేదు కానీ.. దీని వెనుక చాలా కష్టం ఉండొచ్చు" అని మణిరత్నం అన్నాడు.

ది గోట్ లైఫ్ మూవీ ఏంటి?

డైరెక్టర్ బ్లెస్సీ ది గోట్ లైఫ్ మూవీపై 16 ఏళ్లు పని చేశాడు. 2008లో అనుకొని మొదలు పెడదామనుకునే సమయానికి ఎన్నో అడ్డంకులు వచ్చాయి. మొత్తానికి 2018లో అనౌన్స్ చేశారు. అయితే ఆ తర్వాత కొవిడ్ కారణంగా మళ్లీ అడ్డంకులు ఏర్పడ్డాయి. మలయాళంలో బెస్ట్ సెల్లింగ్ నవల అయిన ఆడుజీవితం ఆధారంగా ఈ సినిమాను తెరకెక్కించారు.

సౌదీ అరేబియాలోని ఎడారిలో కేరళకు చెందిన నజీబ్ అనే వలస కూలి బానిసగా మారి పడిన ఇబ్బందులను ఈ సినిమాలో కళ్లకు కట్టినట్లు చూపించారు. గత వారమే ఈ సినిమా చూసిన నజీబ్ కూడా చాలా అద్భుతంగా తీశారంటూ కొనియాడాడు. ఈ సినిమా కోసం తాను చాలా శ్రమించానని, 31 కిలోల బరువు తగ్గినట్లు పృథ్వీరాజ్ సుకుమారన్ చెప్పాడు.
