  • How to Respond if They Say No or Donā€™t Respond:

Reviews and Amazon Ranking

Youā€™ve probably noticed Amazon has two kinds of reviews. Some have a little ā€œVerifiedā€ tag and some donā€™t. Amazon implemented the verified status to show the book was purchased from Amazon so people canā€™t just give their book to all their friends and get dishonest or biased reviews. Of course, readers who get the book as a prize or from signing up for your newsletter can still review it, but Amazon doesnā€™t give as much weight to those reviews in its algorithms. Which leads us to our next tidbit…

Yes, they do. Even if two books are selling at the same rate, a book with more positive verified reviews will rank higher than one with fewer reviews . You can still hit number one if youā€™re selling enough copies compared to the other books in your category , say during a promotion .

Which brings us the next piece of this crazy puzzle:

Thereā€™s no doubt the publishing world changed dramatically in the last ten years. With it changed the way readers find books and make purchasing decisions. According to this post from Written Word Media readers are most likely to buy a book if it has 30 or more reviews with an average rating greater than 3.5 stars on Amazon .

For this post, I created a survey for readers. I set out to see how much weight bibliophiles put on book reviews. I got several responses from people 60-years-old and older who donā€™t look at reviews at all. So if youā€™re targeting older readers, reviews may not be as important for the readers…but, theyā€™re still important for the algorithms.

So beyond getting reviews from your email list , are there other ways authors can get more reviews?

Enter book review blogs…

There are two main types of book review blogs:

  • Professional (aka Paid)
  • Blogs (aka Free)

Professional reviews are ones that are paid for and cannot count toward Amazonā€™s ranking. You can put them in the editorial review section which can help if you donā€™t have any other reviews.

Kirkus – The Kirkus Review used to be the be-all end-all of editorial reviews. It carried a lot of weight in publishing. But more recently it seems they have lost their edge. Readers arenā€™t looking to editorial reviews as much as they once did.

IndieReader – Similar to Kirkus is  IndieReader , who focuses on indie authors. Both are expensive and donā€™t give you as much in return as they once did.

Are Professional Reviews Worth It?

That really depends. If you just get the professional book review, and then sit on it, or don't even promote it, then you can't expect it to have a positive return on investment. However, if you add it to your Editorial Review section of your book's sales page on Amazon correctly, or use it in your book marketing tactics , then you can absolutely have a positive effect.

Blogs that Write about Books in Their Genre

Authors and readers have filled the web with book review blogs. These bloggers are dedicated to reading and spreading the word about the books they read. They will usually review your book in exchange for a copy while others buy the books they read.

As I mentioned earlier, verified reviews hold more weight on Amazon. However, non-verified reviews hold just as much weight to most readers, so donā€™t discount a blog that requires you to send them a copy. These people are not getting compensation for their reviews (that would be unethical and against Amazonā€™s terms of service) so giving them a copy allows them to read more books.

This is also why a lot of the blogs listed below have additional things on their site.

Watch Dave's video below that explains when and how you can give your book away in exchange for a review using direct language from Amazon's policy.

Now that you are clear on the Amazon book review rules, let's jump into those blogs that review books for authors.

Later on, I'll explain the right way to ask a blog owner to review your book.

Some on review blogs this list are a little tricky to navigate, but I wanted to include a variety. Sadly, a lot of the really well laid out review blogs are overrun with requests and no longer accepting new ones.

When looking through this list of book review blogs, make sure to look for reviews with:

  • books in your genre
  • reviewers who give detailed feedback
  • are accepting new review requests
  • constructive feedback if they did not like a book

Note: The genre lists of book review blogs below are sorted by genre for your convenience. They are numbered in no particular order.

Use the Links Below to Jump to Review Blogs for Your Genre:

Romance book review blogs:.

In no particular order, here are worthwhile blogs that review romance novels:

GPBR also has a lot going on for authors and reviews contemporary mainstream, erotic and dark romances, paranormal romances and romantic suspense. As well as reviews, GPBR also has opportunities for guest posting, author interviews, and an active Goodreads following.

While primarily a romance review blog on the surface, this website has a lot to offer. They review books in multiple genres and it has a lot of opportunities for authors. Including guest posting and author interviews. Check out the contact page for more information.

This site has so much for authors. They have reviews of course, but they also have book awards and readers choice specials. Because this is an entire team youā€™ll have to check out their ā€œGet Reviewedā€ tab to see which reviewers are a fit for you and your book. Some genres only have one reviewer so those might have a slower turnaround. Keep that in mind as you make your request.

This blog is broken down into middle grade, young adult, and adult based on who the reviewer would recommend the book too.

Literary Titan is an organization of professional editors, writers, and professors that have a passion for the written word. Literary Titan reviews romance, and all of its sub-genres, as well as fantasy, mystery, horror, science fiction, memoirs and poetry. Literary Titan also conducts author interviews, and recognizes talented authors with their Literary Book Award where recipients are announced monthly.

Paranormal/Urban Fantasy Book Review Blogs:

These blogs will review your paranormal or urban fantasy books:

This site is all about horror and the paranormal but if you have a strong romance plot sub or otherwise, Iā€™d avoid these ladies. They are very clear about their preferences in their review policy. The genreā€™s they read include paranormal, urban fantasy, horror, speculative fiction, science fiction (limitedly), and epic fantasy.

Nada reads YA, NA romance, fantasy, thrillers. So if your book falls into one those categories this is the blog for you. With a search bar and a beautiful layout, this site is also an excellent place for your book.

This one is all about Christian books. Thatā€™s all they do. While Rachel might be a good fit if you have Christian themes or book on Christian living, CBR is the place for books where Christianity has a more prominent role.

Contemporary Book Review Blogs:

These blogs will do book reviews for contemporary books:

This two-woman show reviews books in the following genres fantasy, science-fiction (including steampunk and zombies), young adult, middle-grade, contemporary, dystopian, horror, and a HELL YES to graphic novels (of the mentioned genres).

This fangirl reads YA, NA & adult, fiction, contemporary, psychological thrillers, murder/mystery, graphic novels, and children's books. Sheā€™s also open to other genres so have a look at her blog and see if she might be a good fit.

Jessica accepts the following genres thrillers, mysteries, true crime, historical fiction, horror, general fiction, YA, and fantasy.

Samanthaā€™s blog Dream by Day is a one-woman show. What sets her apart from others on this list is her love literary fiction. She also read mysteries and things but finding a reviewer who enjoys literary books was tough. She also has an Instagram where she shares book reviews giving you two opportunities. Her Insta following is small (for now) but as bookstagram grows in popularity so will this feed. Sheā€™s got the gorgeous photo thing down to a science.

Erotica / BDSM Book Review Blogs:

If your genre is erotica or BDSM, these book review blogs are worth checking out:

Romancerā€™s Rehab is a great little blog with a clear-cut rating system you can count on. Be sure to check this one out if you write erotica or other romance-related plots.

Totally booked only reads mobi files so thatā€™s something to consider as you move forward. However, they share your review everywhere they are on the internet for maximum exposure. Definitely check them out.

Mystery/Thriller/Suspense Book Review Blogs:

For suspense, thriller and mystery book review blogs, these are your best bet:

Sharon is all about mysteries and crime. Sheā€™ll read crime fiction, true crime, thrillers/psychological thrillers, and mysteries (darker/noir). This dark themed blog goes right along with the books she reads. In her bio, Sharon mentions sheā€™s in a few book clubs . Offering copies to the group might get more bang for yourā€¦ time.

Need Help with Your Keywords?

Take my full featured video course on how to select the best keywords and categories for your book.

Sci-fi/Fantasy Book Review Blogs:

For all the sci-fi and fantasy authors, these are the book review blogs for you:

This site is all about horror and the paranormal but if you have a strong romance plot sub or otherwise, Iā€™d avoid these ladies. The genreā€™s they read include paranormal, urban fantasy, horror, speculative fiction, science fiction (limitedly), and epic fantasy.

This is an incredibly fun themed site that I just had to include! If you write science/tech-heavy fiction, or spy/secret government related books, this one is for you. The reviews titled ā€œTravel Documentsā€ and posted like a secret file make this one a blast for readers and authors alike. If youā€™re interested in having your book reviewed by Aces, youā€™ll have to head over to their facebook page.

This is another author turning to book reviews to help her fellow authors. I love seeing authors reaching out to readers and offering up books they enjoyed. We canā€™t possibly write enough books for most readers so share the love and write reviews. This is also a science fiction based blog.

Horror Book Review Blogs:

Here are blogs that will review horror books:

Historical Book Review Blogs:

Here are your historical book review blogs:

Young Adult Book Review Blogs:

These websites will review YA books:

Joel of the Fictional Fates website is strictly a young adult and middle-grade reader. He enjoys books in the following genres: fantasy (high, urban & fairy tale retellings), historical fiction, science fiction (sci-fi), contemporary, action/adventure, dystopian, paranormal, and mystery/crime. Note: Joel doesnā€™t have an eReader yet! So he prefers physical copies.

Middle-Grade Book Review Blogs:

For middle-grade, these blogs will do reviews:

Childrenā€™s Book Review Blogs:

If you write children's books , here are websites that will do book reviews:

Mundie kids a great place for MG and Childrenā€™s book authors to get some exposure for their books. They are not accepting unsolicited reviews at this time but put it in your calendar to check back in a month or so.

5. Realm of Books

Realm of Books is a great review site for middle-grade and children's book authors. It contains a relatively large volume of detailed, engaging reviews across a variety of genres, and they do accept requests for reviews.

Graphic Novel Review Blogs:

For graphic novels, here are your book review blogs:

Reading for sanity has multiple reviewers and accepts a variety of genres including graphic novels.

Christian Book Review Blogs:

These book review blogs will review Christian books:

This one is all about Christian books. Thatā€™s all they do. While Rachel might be a good fit if you have Christian themes or book on Christian living, CIBR is the place for books where Christianity has a more prominent role.

Another great blog that accepts Christian books. They suggest your book be accessible by local libraries so if youā€™re on Amazon only this may not be the blog for you. If you are on Kobo or Overdrive the library can order your ebook on request.

This blog has expanded from its original book focus to one that encompeses more family and parenting. However, Bethanyā€™s love of reading still shines through and could be a happy home for both childrenā€™s books and adult fiction.

Dream by day is a great blog browse the reviews to see if your title would be a good fit. She enjoys a wide variety of books including christian titles and also offers author interviews.

Non-fiction Book Review Blogs:

These non-fiction book review blogs are worth checking out:

Memoir Review Blogs:

Finally, if you wrote a memoir and need reviews, here are book review blogs for you:

Rachel accepts young adult (All Genre), biography, true crime, memoirs, Christian living, non-Fiction (especially if itā€™s about cults), middle grade, adult fiction, thriller/mystery, comics, graphic novels, history, travel, and feminist literature.

I couldnā€™t write this post without making a note about bookstagramers. Instagram is a unique social media platform , but one not to be dismissed by authors. The hashtag on Instagram (#bookstagram) is an amazing place to find book reviews and reviewers that are engaged with readers. Most of these blogs had no comments. And I couldnā€™t find ones that did. I settled for active with more than 1k followers (if they listed their followers) and blogs that were accepting review requests.

With bookstagram you would be sending a physical copy of the book (most of the time) so they can photograph it for their feed and if all goes well you can offer to do a giveaway. They host it on their page and select a winner and you send out a book. (again keep in mind media mail and international shipping costs). The buzz around the give away will help your sales and the Instagrammer can grow their following. Itā€™s that win/win I was talking about.

How to Get Your Book Reviewed by a Blog

Once youā€™ve found a book review blog thatā€™s a good fit, you need to dig a little deeper. The first thing you need to check is whether or not they are accepting review requests.

If you want to stand out among the other review requests these bloggers get, look for a way to help them. If someone says ā€œPlease review my bookā€ and someone else says ā€œPlease review my book, and Iā€™d like to write a guest post for your siteā€ which one do you think will get a yes? The second. If you write a post, that frees up a week of this bloggers time, youā€™ll be ahead of the game. They might not accept guest posts, so just be looking for a win-win opportunity as you do your research. If youā€™re website savvy you might offer to help them fix a glitch. Or you could feature their site in your newsletter. Put yourself in their shoes and try to be helpful.

How to Respond if They Say Yes:

If they say yes, youā€™ll most likely need to send them a copy of your book .

Most reviewers accept ebooks, but some donā€™t. Make sure you find out before you ask for the review.

Please use some kind of third-party to deliver ebooks. As a reviewer, Iā€™ve received PDF copies of books and they are a pain to get on a Kindle or iPhone. You can also choose to enact DRM on your books, which will help with ARCā€™s especially.

  • BookFunnel – Bookfunnel is an amazing tool to help distribute your books. For $20 dollars a year you can have one pen name , 500 downloads a month, and store 5 books. This is great for beginners. If you want to step it up a notch and use Bookfunnel for collecting email subscribers as well, you can do so for $100 a year.
  • Instafreebie – Instafreebie (now Prolific Works) is another option for delivering your book to bloggers. Their free version might be a good option for those just starting out.
  • StoryOrigin – When you use StoryOrigin, not only do you join a community of other authors, you basically have all the not-so-fun back end of things taken care of by using them. They help you build your email list, find reviewers, deliver lead magnets and more. Be sure to check them out!

Some reviewers require paperbacks. Bookstagrammers (book bloggers on Instagram covered later) need the physical copy for their pictures and others just prefer the physical book. Whatever the reason, be prepared for this. If you donā€™t want to send out paperbacks, look for how the book should be delivered in the ā€œReview Policyā€ section of the blog. Most reviewers who want paperbacks will tell you right there.

NOTE: When mailing paperbacks to reviewers, select media mail at the post office. Itā€™ll save you some money. Also, mailing things internationally is expensive. Keep that in mind when researching reviewers.

  • NetGalley – If you are traditionally publishing and have not signed a contract yet, ask them to add at least 100 galley copies to the contract. These will be digital copies of the book you can send to reviewers through NetGalley. If youā€™re not traditionally published you can still use NetGalley, but you wonā€™t have to worry about a limit on how many youā€™re allowed to give away.

Move on. Do not respond negatively. If they respond with no, thank them for their time and move on. If they donā€™t respond you can send one follow-up (unless noted otherwise on their site) then move on. Donā€™t waste time being upset.

The bottom line here is you need reviews. Amazon rankings and reader buying decisions are affected by them. But donā€™t freak out about negative reviews. Remember your book isnā€™t for everyone and when people leave a review saying why they didnā€™t like it, it will help your ideal readers find you and keep others who would leave negative reviews way.

So do your research, plan your ask, find a win/win, and get your book into the hands of the right readers to get more book reviews .

50 Best Book Blogs to Read in 2022

book blogs best blogs to follow read book websites book bloggers literary blogs

Book blogging can be fun, but reading other literary and book blogs is part of the fun as well. I often prefer book reviews from other bloggers over ones in literary magazines or newspapers, since they’re sometimes more straightforward and candid about their thoughts.

When it comes to other book blogs, I tend to follow blogs that update more frequently and ones that post more in-depth book reviews, though I know not everyone likes lengthy book reviews. I also appreciate a layout with good navigation, nice graphics or high-quality photos to go with their posts. And in general, I’m more inclined to recommend blogs that have been around longer.

So, in a completely unscientific and totally subjective list, here are my picks for the 50 Best Book Blogs to Read !

Thirteen of the Best Book Blogs to Follow

best book blogs to follow

Finding the best book blogs to follow is becoming more and more popular and while books will always be my go-to, when it comes to my reading material of choice, I also love spending a lazy Saturday morning in bed with the sun streaming through my window catching up on the latest posts from some of my favourite book bloggers.

And while back in the infancy of book blogging, when most blogs about books for book lovers were unsophisticated at best, and downright dreary at worst, these days the best book bloggers are the proud owners of some seriously sophisticated sites. From the crĆØme de la crĆØme of bookish photography, to book memes, sleek lay outs and more, these bloggers are proving that books are anything but boring.Ā  There are a number of fellow book bloggers I’ve been following for a while, but most of my current favourites have been sites I’ve come across in the weeks that have passed since my book blog won the London Book Fair’s Book Blogger of the Year award , meaning there are ample posts for me to read, requiring endless hours in bed as I pour over the best book review blogs.

From the new kid on the book blogging block, to some long-time and firm favourites, I’ve rounded up thirteen of the most stylish book lover blogs to follow. Perfect for anyone wanting to up their reading repertoire or in need of some beautifully bookish inspiration. And so, whether you’re looking for book recommendation blogs or book reviews blogs, book bloggers to follow, the very best new books to read, the latest mystery books, or some inspiration for your next book club, read on for my very favourite and most popular book blogs.

Book Bloggers

Looking for Abura

A blog about books I’ve come across most recently, has been Looking for Aruba; a beautiful blog featuring books, life and style from Dubai-based Abeer. A self-confessed caffeinated geek who spends most of her time buried under the pages of a book, her blog features everything from photo diaries to book reviews and personal outtakes, and it’s oh-so-easy to lose yourself in the pages of her blog. With a beautiful Bookstagram to boot, it’s easy to see why she’s a book review blogger with such a legion of loyal followers.

Kath Reads is another blog I’ve come across in recent weeks, and suffice it to say I’ve spent many hours since pouring over her plethora of book reviews. A great source of fiction book reviews, Kath is a Filipina living in Germany with her husband, and covers books by everyone from J K Rowling to John Green – from romance books to mystery books and many more besides. And as a fellow chai latte lover, it’s clear the girl has great taste.

With book reviews in both English and Dutch, Netherlands-based Femke reads all things YA, offers readers an intimate insight into her love of books and is one of my favourite book review blogs. She too has a lovely Bookstagram account, that features flowers, fairy lights and the all important cup of tea alongside her current book of choice. Find out which tomes Femke chose for myĀ  Desert Island Book Ā series.

The Guy with the Book

While no stranger to having an online book-fuelled platform, Faroukh from The Guy with the Book has turned his Bookstagram talents (he recently won the London Book Fair’s Bookstagrammer of the Year) to the world of book blogging. With everything from Instagram tips to The Travelling Biblio Chronicles – a new series in which guest bloggers will be paying homage to a tale set in the city in which they live. Faroukh’s book blog is a fabulous online resource for anyone wanting to up their reading game. Faroukh too has been a great supporter of my book blog, and was also kind enough to share with me his Desert island Books picks which will give you book recommendations a-plenty.

Book Bloggers

The Book Satchel

I’ve recently featured Resh on my Desert Island Book series and she was one of the first blogs on books I thought of when I began putting this post together. She writes about everything from her predictions when it comes to book prizes to her thoughts on two books by the same author, and with posts covering her 30 books in 30 days challenge, her bookish blog, and captivating book reviews will inspire any avid bookworm to make more time for reading.

Yeldah Yousfi

When it comes to beautiful book blogs, Yeldah Yousfi’s literary and lifestyle blog is undoubtedly one of my very favourites. Fusing travel with books, you’ll find posts on everything from city breaks to her 2018 reading goals, and her stunning Bookstagram account offers some serious bookish inspiration, with pictures taken from Toronto to Paris and everywhere in between.

Lucy the Reader

Book blogger, author and BrontĆ« Societyā€™s Young Ambassador, Lucy Powrie from Lucy the Reader is one of the top book bloggers for all thing YA and definitely one of the best book blogs around. Creator and host of #UKYAChat, Lucy’s YA book blog offers great book reviews for teens and is fresh, vibrant and rich with great content – offering readers everything from book reviews to tips on getting published.

Savidge Reads

An esteemed name in the book blogging world, Simon from Savidge Reads started his book blog to stop boring everyone he met with talk of books, and has certainly come a long way since then. With a recent appearance on the BBC to discuss the Man Booker Prize winner, as well as having been on the judging panel for the 2017 Costa Book Award, he’s one of the most influential book bloggers out there. Alongside his popular book blog, he also has a fabulous Book Tube channel Ā and is co-host of The Readers Podcast .

Bookish Bronte

With one of the most popular Bookstagram accounts around, Bookish Bronte’s brilliant book blog gives readers an intimate insight into the life behind the lens of a bookish photographer. Having worked on countless campaigns with brands from Cath Kidston to Penguin Random House, Bronte offers readers advice on how to write engaging Instagram captions, to what life as a book blogger and bookish photographer is really like.

Book Blogger

Bag Full of Books

Arpita from Bag Full of Books has got armchair travel down to a fine art and was another recent guest on my Desert Island Books . With beautiful visuals, and book reviews a-plenty, Arpita loves nothing more than being stuck in the middle of a good book, and having lived everywhere from India to the US she occasionally writes travel-themed posts, and also has an impressive list of classics she hopes to read her way through by 2021.

Modern Mrs Darcy

Book blogger, author and podcaster extraordinaire, Anne Bogel from Modern Mrs Darcy is the ultimate bibliophile, featuring everything from romance book reviews to a behind the scenes look at her progress from blogger to book, and is one of the best book blogs I’ve read. Host of the much loved What Should I Read Next Ā podcast, her blog posts cover topics from Expert Tip for a Pretty, Peaceful, Practical Bookshelf , to Discover Graphic Novels with these 8 Favourite Reads.Ā  Putting a timely spin on timeless women’s issues, this beautiful book blog also features tips on house and home and is so much more than a books review blog.

Ink & Fable

One of the most stylish book bloggers in the blogosphere, since discovering Ink and Fable on Instagram a few months ago, I’ve been a huge fan of Patience Randal’s literary blog. With book store articles and book recommendations a key feature of her book blog, she’s also launched a Little ThingsĀ  series, in which she documents the little things that have made her week.

A Bookish Baker

With a community book club on Instagram where they share cosy fireside reads, Helen from A Bookish Baker has mastered the art of comfort reading, and I loved reading her Desert Island Books picks. Her blog on books and reading captures the essence of al things brilliantly British. Alongside her bookish content you’ll find tips on online storytelling, book reviews, writing, Instagram photography, baking, chicken-keeping and the seasons. One of the top book blogs for when you want to inject some stillness and calm into a chaotic afternoon.

The 21 Best Book Blogs of 2021

#scribendiinc

Written by  Dana L. Church

Start reading the best books of the year

Want to embrace your inner book nerd but don't know where to begin? Look no further. These book blogs cover a range of genres and topics that will appeal to every kind of book enthusiast. So go ahead and check out the 21 best book blogs of 2021. There's sure to be something that catches your eye.

The 21 best book blogs of 2021

1.  amazon book review.

This book blog topped Scribendi's 2020 list , and it's easy to see why. It's probably the most comprehensive book blog out there for contemporary works, and it covers all kinds of genres. The Editors' Picks seem to have something for everyone.

All of this booky goodness is presented on a bright, easy-to-navigate website. There are even celebrity picks, where "celebrity" encompasses not only film and TV stars but also athletes, musicians, and authors. I must say that this book blog also tops my list when it comes to what's hot off the press and for its sheer variety.

2.  John Pistelli

If you're not concerned about hot topics and current events and are just looking for a good read, then this is the site for you.

John Pistelli is a professor at the University of Minnesota and holds a Ph.D. in English literature. He has also published several works of fiction and poetry. His website provides a new book review every week or so, and his choices are anchored in his personal interests, which center on classic and contemporary fiction. Take a look at his review index for a ton of books to choose from, each with his thoughtful and artful opinions and musings. He covers novels, nonfiction, poetry, drama, and comics, and he even throws in some commercial fiction for good measure.

What also caught my eye is his "lifetime reading list," which includes titles you'd expect to be recommended by an English professor—but also some surprises.

3.  Literary Hub

This book blog has everything you need to keep up to date with the literary world, plus some news and culture on the side. In addition to its numerous resources for both reading and writing, what caught my attention is its "Book Marks" section.

Similar to what "Rotten Tomatoes" does for movies, "Book Marks" compiles book reviews from magazines, newspapers, and websites and averages them into a score of "Rave," "Positive," "Mixed," or "Pan." You can also leave your own comments and reviews. Literary Hub is also a great site for finding your next favorite book-related podcast.

4.  49th Shelf

This site calls itself "the largest collection of Canadian books on the Internet." No kidding! The site is extremely comprehensive but also very easy to navigate. There's something for everyone, and you can sign up for free to contribute your own reviews, comments, and book ratings.

5.  The Broadcast (by Reedsy)

If you like reading lists, you'll love this book blog. From "10 Exciting New Books From Up-and-Coming Authors" to the "40 Best Spy Novels of All Time," you're sure to find a list that interests you.

Moreover, it's easy to get lost in their articles on a wide variety of book-related topics.

6.  A Life in Books

Blogger Susan Osborne has worked in book sales and as a writer and magazine editor. Her book blog is simple and crisp.

Susan provides thoughtful reviews and arranges books into unique categories, such as "Five Books I've Read," where she groups books in fives according to different themes, and "Six Degrees of Separation," where she links seemingly disparate books in clever ways.

7.  The Orangutan Librarian

This blog stands out not only for its unique name and concept but also for its color and charming sketches here and there.

Books are rated using a five-banana rating system and are accompanied by thoughtful—and, at times, philosophical—reviews. The Orangutan also invites comments. There are intriguing lists like "Books that Gave Me a Hangover" and "Forgettable Books—Books I Can't Remember…Though I Definitely Read Them (I Think)."

8.  Vilma Iris

Vilma Iris Gonzalez is an "internationally renowned book blogger and USA Today blog columnist" whose focus is on commercial fiction for a female audience.

She markets lifestyle, home, and beauty, but it's clear her heart is in books. Her site is smart and modern.

9.  From First Page to Last

What caught my eye about this blog, besides its stylish simplicity and plethora of reviews, were its unique categories like "Under the Reader's Radar – Celebrating the Quiet Novel" and "Spotlight on Publishers."

You're likely to spot a gem.

10.  Readability

Reading Fleur Morrison's blog feels like chatting about books with a best friend. She's honest, thoughtful, funny, and engaging.

I was pulled in by her accounts of her struggles with Dostoyevsky and stayed to read about her post-Harry Potter blues.

11.  Jane Friedman

Jane's book blog stands somewhat apart from the others on this list because it targets writers, the writing life, and the ins and outs of the publishing world.

This site is a treasure trove for anyone looking to perfect their craft and learn more about the publishing industry. In addition to articles and book recommendations, Jane offers online classes and interviews with industry professionals.

12.  Electric Lit

Electric Lit's mission is "to make literature more exciting, relevant, and inclusive." This pleasantly quirky site is filled with unique essays, interviews, and reading lists provided by diverse contributors.

Of particular note are the lists "8 Books About Reckless Decisions" and "Offbeat European Children's Books for Adults."

13.  IndieReader

If you're interested in self-publishing and/or self-published books, this is the site for you.

IndieReader is "run by authors and writers for authors and writers." In addition to an enormous number of book reviews, you can find lots of helpful advice from indie authors as well as resources for how to distribute and market your own book.

In addition, if you do happen to be an indie author, you can sign up to have your book reviewed.

14.  School Library Journal

Confession time: I'm a children's author, and I love to read middle grade and picture books.

I couldn't resist including this blog. The School Library Journal is where it's at for comprehensive lists, reviews, and recommendations for all things kid lit.

15.  The Bibliofile

If you want totally honest and critical book reviews, you must check out Jenn's blog.

She's not afraid to explain why she didn't fall in love with books most people rave about, and she still gives thoughtful and thorough critiques of books she does love. Gotta respect that.

Jenn is a great source for thoughtful, interesting perspectives and viewpoints that make you think more deeply about books.

16.  Quillblog

Quillblog is the book blog of Canadian literary magazine Quill & Quire . It spotlights literary news articles, prize winners, and, of course, book reviews.

This blog is a great complement to 49th Shelf to help keep you on top of what's happening in the Canadian literary world.

17.  The New Yorker 's Page-Turner

A book blog from the folks who bring you The New Yorker magazine, this site is filled with thought-provoking articles and reviews of the latest up-and-coming fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and literature.

18.  The Millions

The Millions is a fresh online magazine packed with reviews, lists, and author interviews. There are lots of recommendations categorized to suit a host of tastes. It's always exciting to check out their "Tuesday New Release Day" feature.

19.  Book Riot

This website is teeming with book-lover culture. It's splashy, colorful, and full of energy.

You can find articles on various literary topics, assorted interest pieces, book collections, interviews, and examinations of book-to-movie adaptations. There are daily deals, giveaways, podcasts, and even a selection of book-related swag and “bookish things” to satisfy your inner book nerd.

20.  The Book Smugglers

Ana Grilo and Thea James are The Book Smugglers, "specializing in speculative fiction, YA and popgeekery for all ages since 2008." They also run Book Smugglers Publishing, which publishes speculative short fiction and nonfiction. Their blog was born after they started "smuggling" books home to avoid being threatened daily by loved ones for buying too many. Gee, I can't relate at all…

21.  Utopia State of Mind

Lili describes herself as "a scholar at heart, obsessed with SFF" (science fiction and fantasy).

She also focuses on diversity, smaller presses, and indie authors. Now and then, she includes some contemporary reads, too. She has a handy-dandy sortable table in her reviews archives, which makes browsing her site all the more addictive.

Thanks for reading The 21 Best Book Blogs of 2021! Whatever your fancy may be, I'm confident you'll find some great new books to dive into.

In my book blogging journey, I researched many of the best book blogs online.

Itā€™s been more than a year of my book blogging journey and I still avidly read these bloggers posts as it sparks content ideas for my own book blog.

In this article, book blogging here refers to book review blogs or book blog websites. Iā€™m not talking about book bloggers on instagram or book bloggers on Youtube.

This post is dedicated to the best book bloggers who write long-form helpful reviews on their websites.

You can also use these book blog examples to learn a thing or two about book blogging before starting your own blog!

A book blogger is an avid reader who writes book reviews. They also write other posts related to books.

Book bloggers spend a lot of their time reading, hence book blogging is not an easy going hobby or career although one may enjoy it.

Book blogging can also be done on many platforms – not just a traditional blog.

Some other ways you can book blog:

  • Starting A Booktok (Tiktok)
  • Starting A Booktube (Youtube
  • Starting A Bookstagram (Instagram)

Are Book Blogs Still Popular?

Do people still read book blogs? Yes, they do.

Although social media platforms are preferred by most readers to share their book reviews (such as Instagram, Youtube and TikTok), people who love to read books will read book reviews.

Naturally, they are readers and therefore tend to read book reviews on a blog for better insight.

Book blogging is not dead even though we live in an era of short and easy to consume content.

12 Best Book Blogs To Follow And Get Inspired By

Here are some of the most popular book blogs on the internet and some of my personal favourites.

1. Whatā€™s Hot Blog

best book blogs

Whatā€™s Hot Blog is the first book blog I’ve ever stumbled upon. Laura, founder of this book and travel blog has been blogging for years and is a very famous book blogger.

She is also one of the best book bloggers – an award-winning book blogger based in London.

I love the aesthetic of her blog. Her images are so bright and beautiful to look at. She also has some content around literary travel which is perfect for book enthusiasts who love to travel.

Laura also has some great bookshop guides . I hope I get to visit some of the bookshops in London that she recommends in 14 Specialist Bookshops in London You Need to Visit .

2. Book Riot

best book blogs

Book Riot is my go-to book blog for book recommendations.

Book Riot is a book media website with high quality editorial content.

This book entertainment site is also inclusive – which I appreciate as there is a diverse range of book recommendations for different types of people all over the world.

Book Riot also publishes opinionated pieces revolving around the book and publishing industry that may or may not be controversial.

For example, this post on Why Arenā€™t There More Fat Men In Romance Novels? Is a bold post for sure. It addresses the stigma around plus size men and women.

3. Books And Bao

5. Kirkus Reviews

best book blogs

Kirkus Reviews is definitely one of the best book review blogs out there you should follow!

Whenever I need to get a quick review of a book from any genre, Kirkus usually has the short well-written review for the book.

It is usually a short 500 word review that really gives me just enough information if I want to read the book or not.

Kirkus Reviews also has their own book award – Kirkus Prize which is pretty well-known by readers and authors.

This book review website also has a section for writers who need some writing resources – Writersā€™ Center.

6. The Espresso Edition

best book blogs

Is one of the best book bloggers on Instagram.

Although her bookstagram is super popular, her blog really stands out from other book bloggers. This is because itā€™s super cozy!

Her blog aesthetic makes you want to keep scrolling.

Personally, I love coffee so this blog really felt like home to me. I love everything – the colours, the coffee photography and of course, the content.

Stephanie from The Espresso Edition also has some pretty good blogging tips that I always go back to.

The Espresso Edition is definitely one of my top book blogs iā€™d recommend to follow.

7. The Literary Lifestyle by: Jules Buono

best book blogs

The Literary Lifestyle by Jules Buono is probably one of the book blogs with the catchiest names ever.

ā€œLiterary Lifestyleā€ – where books meet lifestyle. I quite like that as I think reading should be a lifestyle, not just another habit youā€™re doing because ā€œitā€™s good for youā€.

Julesā€™ book blog is really unique in my opinion because of The Rory Gilmore Book Club.

To be honest, Iā€™ve never really bothered to watch Gilmore Girls but as soon as I found Julesā€™ book blog – I binged watched all the seasons and loved it!

This ultimate list of Rory Gilmore books is very impressive. Definitely a blog you must check out!

8. Never Enough Novels

best book blogs

Just like the name suggests, Never Enough Novels is focused mainly on book reviews and recommendations.

Rachel, founder of this book blog, started this blog because she is a lifelong reader who wants to bring joy to other readers and that sounds amazing!

What I personally enjoyed from this book blog is the mini reviews .

Sometimes, we donā€™t have time to read super long reviews and this monthly mini book wrap up and review is such a smart idea!

9. The Book Family Rogerson

best book blogs

A book blog you donā€™t see everyday – a family book blog!

I think it is so lovely that this book blog is run by a little family who loves books – a couple and their 9-year-old kid.

The idea of having a family who reads always warms my heart. I always find myself coming back to this blog because of the literary travel content and fun bookstagram tips.

10. Book List Queen

best book blogs

Book List Queen – perfect name to describe this book blog.

You can find almost any list of books you need.

From new book releases to themed book lists like best summer books – you can definitely find the right book for you.

I love that Rachael decided to start this blog so that she can review and create lists of books to save readersā€™ time.

She mentions how frustrating it is to invest time and money in a book that you end up not enjoying reading.

So she decided to read lots of books and create content on her blog that will help all kinds of readers!

Weā€™re all definitely grateful for that.

11. Four Minute Books

best book blogs

Four Minute Books has over 1000 free book summaries. This is definitely one of the best book summary blogs on the book blogging space.

I stumbled upon Four Minute Books when looking for James Clearā€™s Atomic Habits summary .

I like reading book summaries before deciding to buy a non-fiction book.

Non-fiction books take a bit more effort for me to read and therefore I’d like an overall picture of the book before investing my time and money in it.

Read: 30 Note-Worthy Atomic Habits Quotes By James Clear

12. Drizzle and Hurricane Books

best book blogs

Drizzle and Hurricane Books are founded by two sisters who love to read. I love that these two sisters share the same passion for books .

I slightly envy them because my sister loves books too but she doesn’t like posting about them.

Anyway, this blog warms my heart with recommendations. Marie is the founder of the blog while Nyx is the co-founder – you can read her reviews here.

13. The Uncorked Librarian

best book blogs

The Uncorked Librarian is a unique book blog that has been quite around for sometime. It is one of the first few book blogs i’ve stumbled upon that inspired me to start my own book blog.

It also has many book lists inspired by travel locations!

This popular book blog differs from others because it has cocktail recipes and movie recommendations in addition to books.

How Do I Get A Book Blogger To Review My Book?

Although book bloggers read and write out of passion, in todayā€™s world where influencer marketing is growing big – many book bloggers are part of the influencer marketing community.

This means they would appreciate receiving free books in exchange for an honest review.

Some of them also have their respective charges per post (depending on which social platform they publish them – Youtube, Instagram, Blog, etc)

To work with a book blogger, here is a few things to look out for:

  • Their about page/bio (get to know the blogger, what genre they prefer to read)
  • Their media kit (their rates for different types of content and how you can reach out to them)
  • Their previous sponsored work (checkout existing paid reviews to manage expectations).

Top Book Bloggers to Follow in 2024

Top Book Bloggers and Influencers to follow in 2024

Blogging is still a hugely popular medium in 2023, with 77% of internet users reading blog posts on a regular basis. And book blogging is no exception.

Social media communities such as BookTok, Bookstagram, and BookTube have given the publishing industry a much-needed shot in the arm.

And whilst some see this success as a threat to conventional book blogging, I’d argue that it’s actually revitalised the bookish content creation landscape – including blogging.

So, to celebrate all aspects of bookish culture, I’d featured some of the best bookish content creators you should be following in 2023.

Book Bloggers

Pages unbound.

Pages Unbound Book Blogger

Briana & Krysta are amazing at creating (and promoting) their bookish content – if I’m ever half as successful as them, I’d be thrilled.

Rebbie Reviews

Rebbie Reviews Book Blogger

Rebbie Reviews is an absolute star. Again, a really fine book blogger. She takes part in The Write Reads book tour circuit fairly frequently, so you can guarantee you’ll find some interesting independently published books on her blog.

She also brought my attention to aĀ  really interesting used book scheme Ā that is promoting literacy in the UK, whilst reducing waste.

How to Write Better Book Reviews

Spells & spaceships.

Spells and Spaceships Book Blogger

Alex @ Spells & Spaceships has cornered the SFF book blogging game like an absolute pro.

His interviews with authors are always interesting, and his famed #Norsevember month of Norse-based content is really impressive.

Little Bird Book Blog

Little Bird Book Blog has captured a really neat aesthetic; it’s approachable and captures what Rosie, the blogger, is all about.

She has a very conversational writing style, which brings you closer to the writing itself. I really enjoy that aspect of her blogging.

Little Bird Book Blogger

Cozy With Books

Cozy with Books once posted 100 blog posts in 100 days . That’s how seriously she takes blogging. Her dedication is matched equally by her quality of content.

Plus, Esther’s just a really flipping nice person.

Cozy with Books Blogger

We donā€™t typically read the same books, but thatā€™s partly why I enjoy her blog so much ā€“ it exposes me to other types of writing.

Lit Lemon Books

Lit Lemon Books

Mackenzie @ Lit Lemon Books is brilliant. She posts regular, diverse book-related content – as well as some fun ‘beyond bookish’ posts including her  favourite scary movies .

Interestingly, she also challenged herself to ‘read for free’ back in 2022, by supporting local libraries. For many of us, the idea of not buying new books for an entire year is virtually impossible, so do check in and see how she’s doing!

Out of This World SFF

Out of this World SFF Book Blogger

As you can perhaps take away from the name, Out of This World SFF is a blog geared towards fantasy and science fiction novels.

However, this is a blog that focuses on new and upcoming books from less-known presses and independently published fiction. Nick, who runs the blog, also publishes a variety of content outside of reviews, including book tour stops, cover reveals, and author interviews.

Because of this approach to blogging, readers of Out of This World SFF should expect to find fresh, exciting new writing in the sci-fi and fantasy genres.

Book Bloggers Beginner's Guide to SEO

A literary escape.

A Literary Escape Book Blogger

Celeste is a fine book blogger who runs A Literary Escape –Ā  a book blog that focuses primarily on fantasy fiction. However, she also publishes the occasional science fiction and non-fiction review (including high-profile release, Spare ).

Reviews on A Literary Escape adopt a more conversational tone, which is super approachable, digestible, and actually feels very personal to the reader. Reviews provoke conversation, which is why Celeste has a healthy community of regular commenters.

Definitely worth checking out.

The Redhead Notes

Jennie @ The Redhead Notes positions herself as a blogger who empowers authors by giving them a platform online.

The Redhead Notes Book Blogger

As such, she features a lot of guest posts on a variety of topics. fromĀ  spotlightingĀ  indie publishers Ā to the more quirky articles such as a guide toĀ tea-drinking .Ā

It’s a unique corner of the internet, and the sheer variety of content on offer makes The Redhead Notes a book blog that comes highly recommended.

Bookaholic Bex

Bex is one of the funniest, most authentic people on Twitter – and aĀ  super passionate blogger . After all, she’s focused on ‘books, more books, and nothing but the books’!

If you’re notĀ  following Bex , you’re missing out big time.

Bookaholic Bex Book Blogger

Beth of BooksNest has been blogging at booksnest.co.uk for a few years now, but really found a voice and presence on YouTube.

Recently she’s pivoted towards travel-based vlogs, but high-quality bookish content remains at the heart ofĀ  her channel .

BooksNest Profile Picture

A Frolic Through Fiction

Ashleigh at A Frolic Through Fiction is pretty prolific bookish content creator across both Bookstagram and BookTube.

And with a cozy cottagecore vibe and aesthetic, A Frolic Through Fiction videos always come with exceptional production value.

A Frolic Through Fiction BookTube Blogger

From witchy books recommendations for your TBR, through to bullet journal planning, and even immersive ASMR videos – A Frolic Through Fiction is a BookTube channel with some incredible content.

The Not So Secret Bookaholic

Chelsea, aka The Not So Secret Bookaholic, is a BookTuber who focuses primarily on TBR recommendations, book hauls, and weekly reading vlogs.

Not So Secret Bookaholic Booktube Blogger

Using less stylisation and filters than other BookTubers, she keeps her content lean, clean, and super authentic.

It’s this authenticity and approachable screen presence that makes The Not So Secret Bookaholic channel such a great channel to tune into on a weekly basis!

The Literary Vault is a book review blog run by a 13 years old middle school girl who made her debut in the literary world by publishing stories on medium at the age of 10. An avid reader and a bookworm at heart, ā€œC.A.ā€ as she prefers for her name, creates reviews that are as vivid and alive as the scenes in the book. In a short amount of time, she is able to transfer her reading of various genres into engaging and meaningful reviews and thoughts.

The Ultimate List of Book Review Blog Lists of 2024 for Authors, Bloggers, and Readers

By Sam Waverley

library

Hey there, bookworms! Ever wondered where authors, bloggers, and readers hang out in the vast world of literature? Well, look no further than book review blogs! These digital hideouts are like cozy book clubs where everyone’s invited to chat, share thoughts, and discover awesome reads. Today, we’re diving deep into why these blogs are so darn important for authors, bloggers, and readers. Plus, we’ll hook you up with some lists of top book review blogs to explore.

Table of Contents

Benefits of Book Review Blog Lists

For authors.

Picture this: You poured your heart and soul into writing a book, but now you’re wondering, “How do I get people to notice it?” That’s where book review blog lists come in clutch! They’re like the VIP pass to getting your book noticed, boosting your street cred, and getting readers hyped up about your work. It’s like hitting the literary jackpot!

For Bloggers

If you’re a blogger, these lists are your golden ticket to blogosphere fame! Getting listed means more eyeballs on your blog, which means more love for your writing. Plus, you’ll rub elbows with fellow bloggers, find inspiration for your next riveting post, and maybe even make some new friends along the way. It’s like joining an exclusive club where everyone’s cheering you on!

For Readers

Hey, book dragons! We know you’re always on the prowl for your next epic adventure, and book review blog lists are your treasure map! They’ll lead you to a treasure trove of book recommendations, juicy discussions, and fellow book lovers to geek out with. Get ready to dive into a world of endless possibilities and discover your new favorite reads!

Important Notes for Authors About Book Reviewer Blog Outreach

But, attention, authors! It’s time for a friendly reminder on the dos and don’ts of reaching out to book review bloggers. First things first: always read the review policy of the blogger you’re eyeing. It’s like checking the dress code before crashing a party ā€“ you don’t want to show up in a tuxedo to a Hawaiian luau, trust me. Next up, use that contact email or special sign-up form provided. It’s there for a reason, folks! Don’t go sliding into their DMs like a desperate ex ā€“ keep it classy, people. Oh, and here’s a pro tip: unless a reviewer’s policy says otherwise, provide a free copy of your book in the format the reviewer prefers. It’s like bringing a bottle of wine or something to a dinner party ā€“ it shows you’re thoughtful and considerate. And last but certainly not least, remember to be kind and considerate of the reviewer’s time. They’re doing you a solid by even considering your book, so don’t be a diva about it. Treat them like the literary rockstars they are, and who knows? You might just end up with a glowing review to plaster all over your book’s promo materials, if it really deserves so. Cheers to that!

10 Steps To Start Your Book Review Blog (in 2024)

Author: Rafal Reyzer

Reading is a magical, enriching hobby. If youā€™re an avid reader, and you also like to write, blogging about books may be a relaxing yet lucrative way to express your thoughts.

Starting a book blog takes a lot of work, but itā€™s ultimately worth it. Reviewing books is fun as a hobby, but it will also feel much more meaningful when you share your insights and experiences with the world. But how do you even approach creating a book review blog? Here are ten actionable steps that will help you set it up quickly and effortlessly!

10 Steps To Start a Book Review Blog:

1. get inspiration from other bookish bloggers.

Before you make your first attempt, look at successful book review blogs. Try to analyze what and figure out the features that these book blogs have in common. What makes them juicy and irresistible? Then, find a couple that you like the most. What are the features that stand out and make their blogs interesting? What draws you to their content? And what would you change to make them even better? Write your findings down so you can refer to them once youā€™re building your blog.

2. Define Your Goals and Prepare for the Long Haul

Before you begin your book blogging journey, set specific, measurable goals. Think about the reasons you want to start a blog: do you want to do it for fun, as a creative escape, or do you want to monetize your blog and turn it into a side hustle? Maybe you want both? Figuring out your goals before you get started will help keep you on track as you build your blog and publish your first articles. Itā€™ll help guide you through the process and bring decisions that are in tune with your goals and purpose. Finally, your pre-defined goals will help you determine where you are on your journey and help you adjust along the way.

Here are a few questions to consider:

  • How does blogging success look to you?
  • How many blog readers would you like to attract in a given of time?
  • How many reviews and other types of posts would you like to publish every month?
  • How much money (if any) would you like to earn with your blog?

Answers to these questions will help you stay on track and donā€™t give up when the going gets tough.

3. Establish Your Favorite Content Format

Most successful blogs (in any writing-related niche ) out there have fairly strict rules regarding the tone of voice and formatting of their posts. Your style guide doesnā€™t have to be super intricate. However establishing basic formatting rules will help make your blog seem polished and unified, which is very important in building your brand .

  • Think about the general formatting you want your blog to have ā€“ basic guidelines regarding headings, numbering, bullet points, bold text, and so on.
  • Consider SEO ā€“ you donā€™t have to be a techie to understand the significance of SEO , or its basic principles.
  • Donā€™t forget to establish your tone of voice, which is strongly felt in the way you address the reader, the vocabulary you use , and the attitude you want to express.
  • Last but not least, consider your particular book-reviewing format ā€“ do you want to have a star rating system, and are there any repeating parameters youā€™ll want to use to review books?

4. Read, Write, Sleep, Repeat

Creating content for a book review blog takes more time and effort than most other blogging niches do. Thereā€™s a simple reason for that ā€“ you need to spend a long time reading the book first. Sure, bloggers of all niches do research before writing too, but itā€™s not typically several hundred pages long. The point is ā€“ preparing and writing each book review article takes a long time and a lot of effort, so itā€™s a good idea to have some content prepared in advance when you launch your blog. As a book blogger, your content will probably contain book reviews, but also discussions, book tags, interviews with authors, and much more. Figure out what you want your schedule to be like, how often you want to publish, and if you want to make a repeating post-type rotation. Try to prepare at least three weeksā€™ worth of content to avoid feeling burnt out once you launch your blog. Chances are youā€™ll have a lot of work setting up your website , so you might not have enough time to create content when your blog goes live.

5. Set Up Your Blog

Itā€™s finally the time to get down to work and get your hands dirty creating your blog. I went through all the steps here , so Iā€™ll only outline your options in this article. I believe anybody can make their website from scratch because itā€™s not that complicated with a good guide to help you through. However, if youā€™re a tech wizard, or you simply donā€™t want to spend your time mastering website-building skills, you may seek professionals on job boards like Upwork or networks like Linkedin.

writing a blog-min

Platform (CMS):

First things first, figure out which platform, otherwise known as the CMS (content management system) you want to use for your blog. The platform will keep your blog running, provide you with statistics, and give you control over your content. Two of the most common platforms that freelance writers and bloggers use today are WordPress and Blogger . I use WordPress because itā€™s a free, open-source system that powers as much as 30% of the web. Your blog will require a bit of hands-on work to set up the CMS. Luckily, most web hosting services also provide a simple way to import CMS.

Web Design:

Unless you have experience writing CSS code or working in a program like Adobe Dreamweaver, you have two options at your disposal when it comes to the design of your website. Those are using a preset theme or hiring a professional to make your blog look super outstanding. WordPress, Blogger, Wix, and many other website platforms offer you a plethora of choices when it comes to design themes. You simply need to pick one that you feel looks nice and doesnā€™t affect text readability, make small tweaks, and youā€™re good to go.

Web Hosting:

When you start setting up your blog, youā€™ll realize that WordPress and Blogger give you the option to host your blog for free. If youā€™re a hobby writer or a product or services reviewer , this is not a big issue. But if you want to earn from your blog , the free options are very limiting. Luckily, you only need to pay a few dollars per month for your own, unrestricted blog hosting. Thereā€™s a wide variety of hosting companies that sell web space. I opted for Siteground , because itā€™s affordable, very easy to use, and installing WordPress is a breeze.

6. Find Your (Domain) Name

Picking a name for your blog is a huge step, which can also be surprisingly hard. Your blogā€™s name should also appear in its domain name (the address of your site). So, your next step is to register a domain name. The internet is huge, and a huge number of websites already exist. That means that you may come across a problem ā€“ your desired domain name may already be taken. Thatā€™s why you should come prepared, and try out a couple of options. If it doesnā€™t work out, you may get in touch with the current owner of your preferred domain name and buy it from them. You may get a domain name directly from Siteground , or use a specialized service like GoDaddy or Google Domains .

7. Introduce Yourself

Hurray ā€“ if you got this far, youā€™re a proud owner of a brand-new website! Itā€™s time to say hi to the world! Thatā€™s right, now you need to create your About and Contact pages. Almost every reader enjoys knowing who the person behind the blog is. You donā€™t have to reveal your private information, but itā€™s nice to introduce yourself and share your motivation for blogging with your audience. This way, you can start on the right foot with your readers, and let them know what to expect from your blog in the future.

8. Set Up Your Review Policy

At one point, as your blog grows, youā€™re likely to get requests. Your audience, publishers, and even book authors themselves may get in touch with you requesting books to discuss next. To help your future self out, decide what is and what isnā€™t worth your time and effort. Itā€™s worthwhile to set up a review policy in advance. Your review policy can include anything you feel is relevant. For example, think about what kinds of posts you will consider, what genres you want to cover, and whether you want to post negative reviews too. Then, figure out if you only want to post on your blog , or other websites too like Goodreads or Amazon. If publishers offer you the book in exchange for a review, which formats do you accept ā€“ print only, or PDFs too?

9. Organize Your Archives

When I find an interesting book review blog, I always want to browse through the books they reviewed, interested to see what the author says about my favorite titles. Thatā€™s why I, and other book review readers, always appreciate an easy-to-access blog post archive.

10. Be Social and Get in Touch With Other Bloggers

Once youā€™re all set up and start publishing content on your new book review website, itā€™s time to help spread the word. The particular way you choose to advertise your blog doesnā€™t matter much ā€“ the goal is simply to help your blog reach the people who would love to read content like yours. You can market your blog by interacting with other book bloggers (leaving meaningful comments on their content or following each other on social media). Another way to advertise your blog is through social media, and I especially recommend posting your reviews on Goodreads with a link leading to your site.

Closing words

This is a basic overview of the process, but it should get you started on the right path. Please never give up on your dream of becoming a successful blogger. It takes persistence and determination, but Iā€™m sure that you can do it. Just prepare for a few months of silence before you get some feedback from your readers. This is the most difficult point, but once you cross that line, everything becomes more exciting. Next up, you may want to check the list of the top traditional book publishers who may be interested in your manuscript.

Leigh Bardugo_The Familiar

1. The Familiar by Leigh Bardugo (Flatiron)

ā€œBardugo brilliantly explores the wavy line between the supernatural and the divine ā€¦ When Bardugo chooses to venture further into the darkness, itā€™s that much more devastating because of how much fun the reader has been having. In fact, she is a master of anticlimax: She builds apprehension for huge events that do not come to pass, then blindsides the reader with something totally unexpected instead ā€¦ A thrilling addition to her canon about oppression and liberation, and anyone interested in this historical period and the themes sheā€™s exploring will find it engrossing.ā€

ā€“Charlie Jane Anders ( The Washington Post )

2. The Sleepwalkers by Scarlett Thomas (Simon & Schuster)

6 Rave ā€¢ 1 Positive

ā€œFor Thomas, nothing seems to be off the table. She shifts between erotic thrills, gothic drama, postmodern deconstruction and kitchen-sink realism. Through her bold storytelling, The Sleepwalkers becomes a work of peculiar, gonzo genius ā€¦ Thomas takes a glamorous late-capitalist setting, with rosĆ© and catamarans, and shreds, twists and warps it into a story that is surprising, humane and political to its bones.ā€

ā€“Flynn Berry ( The New York Times Book Review )

3. The Limits by Nell Freudenberger (Knopf)

ā€œFreudenberger is fluent in every realm, social conundrum, and crime against the earth she brings into focus, keenly attuned to science and emotion, tradition and high-tech, race and gender, greed and conscience, irony and tragedy. Each characterā€™s challenges are significant on scales intimate and global and their wrestling with secrets, anger, and fear grows increasingly suspenseful in this lambent, deeply sympathetic, and thought-provoking novel.ā€

1. Fi: A Memoir of My Son by Alexandra Fuller (Grove Press)

ā€œFuller leaves nothing under the table, under the rug or under wraps ā€¦ The last thing you expect to do when you read a book about a child dying is to laugh ā€¦ The wit in this memoir is soul-piercing ā€¦ Fuller is sagacious and perspicacious. She is a sublime writer. In the hands of another memoirist, the story of Fi might be unbearably sad, but this book is a mesmeric celebration of a boy who died too soon, a motherā€™s love and her resilience. It will help others surviving lossā€”surviving life.ā€

6 New Books We Recommend This Week

Suggested reading from critics and editors at The New York Times.

  • Share full article

Our recommended books this week include two satirical novels ā€” one about identity politics and victimization, the other about artificial intelligence and gender roles ā€” along with Tana Frenchā€™s second crime novel about a Chicago police officer who retired to the Irish countryside. In nonfiction, we recommend the story of a deadly avalanche, a philosopherā€™s exploration of the concept of giving up, and the gratifyingly intimate audio version of Barbra Streisandā€™s recent memoir, which she narrates herself. Happy listening, and happy reading. ā€” Gregory Cowles

MY NAME IS BARBRA Barbra Streisand

Certain of the, shall we say, eccentricities (oh ā€¦ the ellipses!) in Streisandā€™s 992-page doorstop of a memoir get wonderfully ironed out in audio form. Its sprawling a-star-is-born anecdotes seem to find their natural form in the towering performerā€™s 48-plus hours of discursive, disarming and often gloriously off-the-cuff narration.

best book review blogs

ā€œAs Streisand recites the story of her life ā€¦ she ad-libs off the written text, splices sentences, audibly shakes her head at dubious decisions, and altogether places us opposite her on the sofa with a cup of coffee for a two-day kibitz.ā€

From Zachary Woolfeā€™s review

Penguin Audio | 48 hours, 17 minutes

VICTIM Andrew Boryga

Borygaā€™s debut is a lively social satire about the fetishization of victimhood, following a young working-class student, Javi, who uses exaggerated stories of tragedy to earn attention and success. Boryga is having fun, and heā€™s inviting us to join in.

best book review blogs

ā€œLetā€™s be clear: Though Boryga is playing, heā€™s not playing around. Through Javiā€™s story, Boryga humorously and scathingly calls out the gluttonous consumption of stories of victimhood.ā€

From Mateo Askaripourā€™s review

Doubleday | $27

ANNIE BOT Sierra Greer

On the surface, ā€œAnnie Botā€ is a story about an A.I. sex robot that grows more and more sentient, but underneath this high-tech premise is a sharp and smart exploration of misogyny, toxic masculinity, selfhood and self-determination.

best book review blogs

ā€œA brilliant pas de deux, grappling with ideas of freedom and identity while depicting a perverse relationship in painful detail.ā€

ON GIVING UP Adam Phillips

In his latest book, Phillipsā€™s exploration of ā€œgiving upā€ covers the vast territory between hope and despair. We can give up smoking, sugar or a bad habit; but we can also give up on ourselves. Phillips proposes curiosity and improvisation as antidotes to absolute certainty.

best book review blogs

ā€œPhillips doesnā€™t try to prevent us from thinking whatever it is that we want to think; what he does is repeatedly coax us to ask if thatā€™s what we really believe, and how we can be sure.ā€

Farrar, Straus & Giroux | $26

THE DARKEST WHITE: A Mountain Legend and the Avalanche That Took Him Eric Blehm

In January 2003, seven skiers and snowboarders were killed in an avalanche on a glacier in western Canada. Among them was the American snowboarder Craig Kelly, and the adventure writer Blehm turns this page-turner not just into a biography of the athlete, but a tribute to the sport itself: addictive, thrilling ā€” sometimes deadly.

ā€œProbably the most unremittingly exciting book of nonfiction I have come across in years. I found myself reading late into recent nights wholly transfixed by every paragraph, every word.ā€

THE HUNTER Tana French

For Tana French fans, every one of the thriller writerā€™s twisty, ingenious books is an event. This one, a sequel to ā€œThe Searcher,ā€ once again sees the retired Chicago cop Cal Hooper, a perennial outsider in the Irish west-country hamlet of Ardnakelty, caught up in the crimes ā€” seen and unseen ā€” that eat at the seemingly picturesque village.

best book review blogs

ā€œThe novelā€™s greatest pleasures ā€” genuine twists aside ā€” reside in the specific intersection of outsider and native, and particularly the formerā€™s determined need to idealize, to claim, to tint whole rivers green.ā€

From Sadie Steinā€™s review

Deliveroo has confirmed to Sky News it is adding a "small extended delivery fee" for all users.

The online food delivery company emailed some of its Plus customers yesterday saying the charge will come into force on 1 May.

Deliveroo told the Money team that it was still "committed to offering customers the best value for money, service and selection".

"Over the last year, we dramatically increased the selection that customers see in the app by expanding delivery radii to give customers access to more restaurants and provide greater choice," they said.

"This means that some of our partners are further away so riders need to go the extra mile to deliver these orders.

"We will therefore be introducing a small extended delivery fee for long distance orders which will be discounted for Plus customers."

Plus customers are those who pay a monthly fee to enjoy additional perks.

Currently, Silver Plus customers pay Ā£3.49 a month to get free delivery on orders more than Ā£15 from restaurants and Ā£25 from stores, as well as exclusive offers and rewards.

Gold Plus members pay Ā£7.99 a month for free delivery on orders over Ā£10, the ability to claim back Ā£5 if their order arrives late and access to discounted fees and rewards.

People in search of a little extra cash have been told they could have a small fortune sitting on their bookshelves.

Research by All Top Books, an online bookshop, has revealed how much some early copies of our best loved books could be worth.

Thousands of valuable volumes could be gathering dust on shelves across the country, it said.

Treasure hunters were told to check whether elderly relatives have any unwanted old tomes.

Rare editions of the early works of children's writers such as Roald Dahl and J.K. Rowling can be worth thousands if found in good condition.

The books listed below also sold in their millions, so there is a fighting chance you've got one.

Ten tomes that could fetch a pretty penny are:

  • Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl (1967) - Ā£1,000
  • The Tale of Mrs Tittlemouse by Beatrix Potter (1910) - Ā£1,000
  • Now We Are Six, Winnie The Pooh by A.A. Milne (1927) - Ā£2,000
  • James Bond: On Her Majestyā€™s Secret Service by Ian Fleming (1963) - Ā£13,000
  • Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austin (1894)  - Ā£2,500
  • Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll (1914) - Ā£2,000
  • Sherlock Holmes: The Hound of the Baskervilles by Arthur Conan Doyle (1902) - Ā£5,000
  • Harry Potter and the Philosopherā€™s Stone by J.K. Rowling (1997) - Ā£5,000
  • Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling (1998) - Ā£2,000
  • N or M? By Agatha Christie (1941) - Ā£2,000

By James Sillars , business news reporter

There is no real prospect of a new record high for the FTSE 100 today.

Stock markets have widely taken fright at the prospect of US interest rates remaining higher for longer, after further evidence of resilience in the world's biggest economy yesterday.

Energy stocks led the FTSE lower at the open - falling 1.3% to 7,862.

Sentiment in London was not improved by data from the ONS that showed UK wage growth remaining stubbornly high.

The Bank of England wants to see the pace come down markedly before relaxing its battle against inflation through an interest rate cut.

LSEG data showed a flurry of bets away from June for the first rate cut and towards August instead.

Across the market more widely, shares in Superdry were 25% down as it confirmed a story by Sky News yesterday that it had launched a restructuring plan that would result in rent reductions for some of its stores.

It also planned an equity raise, which it said would allow it to delist from the London Stock Exchange.

One other piece of market data to flag: the cost of oil.

Brent crude is still sat around the $90 a barrel mark amid the raised tensions in the Middle East.

Market experts have warned the direction will be determined by Israel's response to Iran's drone and missile attack on Israeli soil on Saturday night.

The Office for National Statistics has just released its latest data on wage growth - a factor in the sights of the Bank of England as it considers when to start cutting interest rates.

Wages excluding bonuses grew by 6% in the three months to the end of February, compared with the same period a year ago.

A Reuters poll of economists had predicted wage growth would slow to 5.8% from 6.1% in November to January.

The figures, while welcome on the face of it for struggling households, will make for worrying reading at the Bank of England, which is assessing the timing for a long-awaited interest rate cut in its battle against inflation.

Other jobs figures released by the ONS showed unemployment in February rose to 4.2% from 3.9%, and the number of vacancies in January to March was 916,000, a fall of 13,000 on the previous three months.

Liz McKeown, director of economic statistics at the ONS, said: "Recent trends of falling vacancy numbers and slowing earnings growth have continued this month albeit at a reduced pace.

"But with the rate of inflation also slowing, real earnings growth has increased and is now at its highest rate in nearly two and a half years."

Read more on what the figures mean from our business reporter James Sillars here :

A street in London (perhaps unsurprisingly) has been named the most expensive in the country.

Nestled near Buckingham Palace and the Houses of Parliament, houses along Buckingham Gate come with an average price tag at Ā£9,633,333, according to Rightmove.

After Buckingham Gate, the next highest average asking price was found in Vicarage Gate in Holland Park in west London, at Ā£6,332,000.

Outside London, Old Avenue in Weybridge, Surrey, had the highest average asking price for properties so far this year, at Ā£2,633,333.

When it comes to renting, Albion Street in Bayswater, central London, was found to be the most expensive at Ā£20,857 a month.

This was followed by Pavilion Road in Knightsbridge, central London, where renters spend around Ā£15,251 a month for a new let.

Outside the capital, London Road in Ascot, Berkshire, was found to have the highest rent price at Ā£6,831 a month.

Basically, a credit score is a three-digit number that indicates how reliable you are at borrowing and repaying money.

It is worked out by collecting information about you from public records, lenders and other service providers.

The scores are based on the amount you have borrowed, your repayment history and other information such as your job and age.

Credit scores can influence your ability to access loans and credit, as well as the terms you are offered if your application is successful.

It can also be a factor if you want to buy a car on finance or when buying a new smartphone through a pay-monthly contract.

A good score can also see you have access to the lowest interest rates available on mortgages and it can affect how much you pay for your security deposit on a rental house.

What is a good credit score?

Your credit worthiness is calculated using a points system.

In the UK, there are three main credit reference agencies - Experian, Equifax and TransUnion - and they each have their own system of rating your credit worthiness.

Experian, which gives scores out of 999, has said a credit score of 700 or above is generally considered good and a score of 800 or above is considered to be excellent.

Equifax, which gives you a score out of 1,000, considers scores between 740 to 799 to be very good; and 800 up are considered excellent.

TransUnion considers a good credit score to be between 721-780 while 781 onwards is excellent.

How can you improve it?

This may seem an obvious one, but keeping up with repayments is a good way to show lenders you are sensible with money and are likely to pay back what you borrow on time, an Equifax spokesperson told the Money blog.

The credit reference agency said it is also best to avoid staying close to or exceeding your credit limit as this can indicate that you're experiencing financial difficulties.

Rajan Lakhani, money expert at the money app Plum, said registering on the electoral roll is also an easy way - and only takes minutes - to improve your score as it gives lenders confidence that they know where you are based.

He also said getting a whole credit report is another way to keep an eye on any errors or even fraud.

"A lot of people will just look at the score but it's worth getting the full report," he said.

"Even if there is something that has occurred but there were special circumstances around it, you can get a notice of correction and it explains that."

Mark Mcelvanney, client services director at IE Hub, said "consistency" was important too.

"Your credit scores are built up of lots of difference data sources so every time you make an application for a loan, credit card or any form of credit you enter information into that application," he said.

"Making sure the application information is consistent is important, even down to your job title, because if they look different in each of those applications, the ultimate worthiness will be impacted and there could be suggestions of fraud or instability."

And it is also worth "de-linking mortgages" after splitting with a partner, he added.

"If their credit file starts to suffer that can have a negative impact on you," he said.

Other tips from Equifax...

Take control of your finances

Having combined finances - like a joint mortgage or credit card -  could negatively affect your ability to access credit, if the other person's credit history is poor.

Know the difference between hard and soft credit searches

When you apply for credit, it leaves a "footprint" on your credit report and making too many applications in a short space of time can have a negative impact on your score.

Instead, space out and limit the number of applications you make.

Check your credit report regularly

Despite popular myths, checking your credit report regularly does not negatively impact your credit score.

Over four days this week, we're speaking to some of Britain's struggling unpaid carers, hearing at times heart-breaking accounts of their physical, emotional and financial struggles.

Today, a daughter who cares for her mother with motor neurone disease tells us the financial support she receives "is not even close to enough" and left her needing to use her savings as a last resort.

Fiona Jermaine, 39, from Grimsby, whose mother Helen, 74, was diagnosed in 2012, worked full-time until the pandemic but after she was furloughed and her mother's condition worsened she decided against returning.

"Mentally it's isolating - you feel lonely. And as much as you do, you always feel guilty and feel you are not doing enough." Fiona Jermaine

While Fiona has care agency staff come to the house to help, she is the main carer for her mother.

"Everything around the house is down to me - the washing, cleaning, shopping, cooking," Fiona says.

"I'm very much tied to the house."

Physically it has "massively" taken a toll on her and mentally it is "isolating".

"I think because you're busy, you ignore how you are feeling. As daft as it sounds, you don't really stop until you're actually really, really poorly. So you kind of ignore a lot," she says.

"Mentally it's isolating - you feel lonely. And as much as you do, you always feel guilty and feel you are not doing enough."

Heating on 24/7

With her mother's care falling under the NHS continuing healthcare support, her carers are funded by the health service.

The funding, which is separate to the Ā£76.75-a-week carer's allowance, is provided for those assessed as having a "primary health need" and pays for the care agency, with Fiona's mother allocated Ā£700 a week.

But with "sky-high" gas and electricity bills in the cost of living crisis, Fiona says she is sometimes left with no option but to dip into her savings.

"Mum feels the cold so the heating is on 24/7 and she has so many pieces of medical equipment on and I can't turn them off," Fiona says.

"You don't get any help with that whatsoever."

In addition to carer's allowance, Fiona gets universal credit but she says she is not able to receive the maximum Ā£368.74 she could be entitled to due to receiving a carer's benefit. She instead receives Ā£222.02 a month.

She says the financial help she gets from the carer's allowance is "not even close" to enough.

"It's supposed to be based on the carer working 35 hours a week - so myself doing 35 hours of care. I challenge you to find a carer that only does that. It's really not a lot," she says.

"People tell me I'm doing a really good job, but you never feel like that, you always feel like you should do more - it's tiring.

"It feels like you can never switch off. Even if you do go out for an hour, you are still listening to your phone."

'People do not do only 35 hours'

With no other avenues of income, her financial struggles have left Fiona needing to use her savings as a last resort. Returning to work is a "possibility" but she is uncertain about how that would work.

"When the gas and electricity bills went really high, going into my savings was the only way I could pay it," she says.

"And then Mum also needed a new wheelchair accessible vehicle and the upfront payment for that was about Ā£4,500. I had no choice, I had to pay it.

"With returning to work, it could possibly happen, but more likely it'll be when Mum's no longer with us - I lean more towards that.

"Obviously if finances meant that I had to, I would but I can't honestly tell you how I would make that work."

With carers facing unprecedented pressure on their finances, Fiona says domiciliary home care needs "vast amounts of money thrown at it" and the government needed to be a "bit more realistic" with carer's allowance.

"The 35 hours figure for care is just ridiculous. People do not do 35 hours. I don't know where they plucked that arbitrary figure from but it is ridiculous so that needs to be looked at," she says.

"And then I think they need to make it so it's not tied into your other benefits.

"There is a threshold, so you can only do so many hours or earn so much and then you lose your universal credit. It's so difficult to find a job that fits around the care side.

"They've made out that they want everyone to go back to work. Well, make it a bit easier for us to go back to work."

A government spokesperson said: "Unpaid carers play a vital role in the lives of their family and friends, which is why from April we're boosting carer's allowance meaning carers receive an extra Ā£1,500 a year compared to 2010.

"Those in low income households may also be eligible for additional financial support such as universal credit."

HMRC has overpaid its own staff millions of pounds over the past 10 years, according to The Telegraph.

In total, Ā£12.6m has been pocketed by employees but only Ā£12.3m has been paid back, leaving a Ā£300,000 shortfall.

The news outlet said some 250 staff were overpaid by more than Ā£1,000 last year.

Some of the overpayments were caused by payroll failing to stop salary payments for people who had left the company, it added.

The revelation comes after the tax office controversially decided to close its helplines for six months.

"With a staff headcount of almost 67,500, we operate at a monthly payroll average accuracy rate of 99.54%, which exceeds the corporate benchmark of 98%," a HMRC spokesperson said.

"Our total pay bill in the 2022/23 financial year was Ā£2.449bn* which means that 0.05% was incorrectly paid that year, and we have recovered over 84% of that.

"We have robust processes in place for the recovery of over and underpayments and all staff are provided with guidance on the importance of checking the payment of their salary."

Dr Martens has filed a lawsuit against online retailer Temu for allegedly infringing its trademarks, according to The Times.

The British bootmaker has alleged that the online retailer paid Google to advertise boots sold on its site when users search keywords including "Dr Martens", it said.

As a result, Temu's lookalike products were placed about Dr Martens' own in search results.

The move is the latest sign of growing hostility between Western retailers and their cheaper Chinese rivals.

Temu told Sky News it was yet to receive the complaint and will review it in due course.

Tesla is cutting 10% of its global workforce in a bid to reduce costs and bolster productivity, it has been reported.

The electric vehicle maker, founded and run by Elon Musk, was yet to comment on a story earlier today by Electrek that it was to axe about 15,000 people.

The tech publication said the cuts were revealed in an internal memo - also seen by the Reuters news agency.

It added that managers had been tasked earlier this year with identifying key personnel.

The company, which had more than 140,000 staff at the end of last year, has been struggling with soft demand for its electric vehicles.

The average UK tenant is spending 30.6% of their salary on rent, data shows.

Many experts believe that a third of your earnings is considered the outer limit for affordability.

But in several areas of the UK, people are spending considerably more, an index created by Canopy has shown.

Tenants in Poole have been found to be struggling most with affordability, with the average renter giving more than 40% of their income to their landlord.

Stirling has also made a surprising inclusion in the top 10 places, with a low average income meaning tenants are spending 37.8% of their wages on rent.

Belfast was found to be the most affordable major city for renters, with people spending just over a quarter of their salary in rent (23.2%), on average.

Here are the 10 places people spend the highest percentage of their income on rent:

Chris Hutchinson, chief executive of Canopy, said the data showed homeowners spend an average of 18% of their income on their mortgage.

"It is sobering to see that one in five tenants are spending the vast majority of their salary on rental payments, and it neatly encapsulates the tricky situation that many tenants with aspirations of homeownership are in," he said.

"Where we could see positive change is towards longer tenancies for those who desire them, fostering greater security for families and communities."

A Little Blog Of Books

http://www.alittleblogofbooks.com/

It may not come as a surprise to you that I like books and I read quite a lot of them Ɛ mostly contemporary, literary and translated fiction. I love stories with unreliable narrators and my greatest fear is running out of books to read. I don't accept review copies of self-published books. However, do feel free to contact me with all queries via email or Twitter. Please be aware that I may not be able to respond straight away.

So you want to find a book blog?

If youā€™re a voracious reader, you might think of a book blog as an oasis in the middle of the desert: a place on the Internet that brims with talk about books, books, and more books.

Well, good news ā€” we built this directory of the 200 of the best book blogs Ā to satiate your thirst. Take a walk around, use the filters to narrow down your search to blogs in your preferred genre, and feel free to bookmark this page and come back, as we do update it regularly with more of the best book blogs out there.Ā

If youā€™re an aspiring author, you might see a book blog more as a book review blog: a place where you can get your yet-to-be published book reviewed. In that case, youā€™ll be glad to know that most of the book blogs in our directory are open to review requests and accept indie books! We expressly designed this page (and our book marketing platform, Reedsy Discovery ) to be useful to indie book authors who need book reviews. If youā€™re wondering how to approach a book blog for a review request, please read on.Ā

Youā€™ve found a book blog. Now what?Ā

Letā€™s say that youā€™re an author, and youā€™ve found a couple of book blogs that would be perfect fits to review your book. What now? Here are some tips as you go about getting your book reviews:

  • Be sure to read the review policy. First, check that the book blog youā€™re querying is open to review requests. If thatā€™s the fortunate case, carefully read the blogā€™s review policy and make sure that you follow the directions to a T.Ā Ā
  • Individualize your pitches. Book bloggers will be able to immediately tell apart the bulk pitches, which simply come across as thoughtless and indifferent. If you didnā€™t take the time to craft a good pitch, why should the blogger take the time to read your book? Personalize each pitch to up your chances of getting a response.Ā
  • Format your book in a professional manner before sending it out. Ensure that your manuscript isnā€™t presented sloppily. If the book blogger asks for a digital ARC, you might want to check out apps such as Instafreebie or Bookfunnel.Ā
  • Create a spreadsheet to track your progress. Wading through so many book blogs can be troublesome ā€” not to mention trying to remember which ones youā€™ve already contacted. To save yourself the time and trouble, use a simple Excel spreadsheet to keep track of your progress (and results).Ā

Looking to learn even more about the process? Awesome šŸ‘ For a detailed guide, check out this post thatā€™s all about getting book reviews .Ā
