How to Play Badminton Game?

The Badminton is played either with a single player or two players on both sides where they hit with their rackets to a shuttlecock. In badminton, there are six main shots-the drops, the smash, the clear, the server, the backhand drive, and the forehand drive. The area or field where the players play badminton is known as the court. The court has a rectangle shape that is divided in half via a net. One or two players stand in both sides with rackets in their hands. One player starts the game by hitting the shuttlecock with his racket to another player’s side. This process is followed until shuttlecock falls down on the floor. That player who is unable to hit the shuttle lose a point. It means another player itself gets the point.

History of Badminton Game

Badminton was first played in England in Badminton House in Gloucestershire. The badminton name was taken from the home of the Duke of Beaufort. This game was first originated in India, after then in Japan, China, and Thailand. Even British army officers played it as a competition in Pune by giving it a name as Poona. In the year 1877, Bath Badminton Club provided the first set of rules to this game. In the year 1899, the first badminton competition was played in the world with the name ‘The All England Open Badminton Championships.

BWF (Badminton World Federation) is the governing body of Badminton that is played worldwide. It was formed in 1934. In the year 1977, the first championship of this game under BWF was played. My Favourite Game - Badminton

Badminton is one of the most popular games that is played with a lightweight racket and a shuttlecock. In the past, shuttlecock was a tiny cork with a hemisphere having 16 geese - all attached and weighing about 5 grams. But present-day shuttles are made from synthetic materials allowed by the Badminton World Federation (BWF). In the following essay about my favourite game - badminton, the rules and regulations, its origin, etc. are discussed. Badminton is not only played for time-pass but also played to strengthen physical fitness, enhance concentration, and sharpen the reflex.

Origin of Badminton

The origin of the name badminton is from the country Estate for Dukes of Beaufort in England. The game was played there for the first time in 1873. The roots of the game were also found in ancient Greece, China, and India. The game was also closely associated with the children’s game shuttlecock and battledore.

The apex authority of the game of badminton is famously known as Badminton World Federation (BWF). It was formed in 1934. The headquarters of BWF is in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Badminton is widely played in Indonesia, Japan, Denmark and Malaysia. The first championship under BWF was played in the year 1977.

The game of badminton is a sport played between two players with a long mallet made from wood, metal or plastic and two shuttlecocks, a small hard ball. These are used to hit the shuttlecock over a net and back. There are many ways that badminton can be played and for me it is a fun game which is great for fitness, concentration and sportsmanship. I love badminton, I play it most days. One of my favourite points of the game are the strokes, there are many kinds of strokes that can be done to hit the shuttlecock over the net and back. In the beginning of the game, a shot that has a high spin will be played, which makes it easier to hit the shuttlecock over the net, for example, the drop shot. The other type of stroke that I like to play is one where the shuttlecock is hit with a side of the racket, for example the topspin or lob or spike, which is very fast but easy to play. It is important that when playing badminton, you concentrate on your shots to be a better player. My favourite point of the game is the backspin shot, this is a type of stroke where the shuttlecock is hit with a backswing before hitting the shuttlecock. It is important to know how to backspin the shuttlecock to hit the shuttlecock over the net and back and it is a very fun part of the game. To end the game the loser has to retire and when playing badminton there are certain rules that must be followed, the first rule is that both players must be equal. If the game is tied then the game is continued and if the game is won, this is the second rule and it states that the winner is the one who has the highest number of points scored. When playing badminton both, players should have a positive mindset, it should be a friendly game of fun. After my game of badminton, I feel satisfied that I have won, it is a great game and it helps me to keep fit.

More About Badminton

Badminton is not only played at the International level; there are various tournaments played at the national, regional, and zonal levels in many countries. One of the prestigious tournaments in badminton is the All-England Championships, played in England. There are also famous international tournaments like Uber Cup and Thomas Cup.

Badminton was played for the first time in the Olympics in 1972 as a demonstration sport. The game was played in full-fledged competitive mode in the year 1992. The game has been played in several categories, like men’s singles and women’s singles ever since. Men’s and women’s doubles and mixed doubles were started from 1996.

Rules of the Game

Competitive badminton is always played indoors because even a slight wind can affect the movement of the shuttlecock. Badminton meant for recreation is played as an outdoor game. The singles match court for badminton is rectangular in shape and 13.4 metres long and 5.2 metres wide. The net is 1.5 metres high and stretches along the width of the court at its centre. Apart from that, a clear space of 1.3 metres around the court is required. The game of badminton consists of hitting and volleying the shuttlecock back and forth across the net. It should be noticed that the touching of the shuttlecock to the ground or floor within the court boundaries will lead to loss of points. Badminton is one of the favourite games of many people. It is a great medium of timepass and recreation. It also provides physical fitness.

Long Essay on My Favourite Game - Badminton

My favourite game is badminton. I used to play every day after school. I found that badminton is a good sport. I played it for many years and always won. Although I have many good friends in the school badminton club, I still prefer to play alone. Sometimes, I feel that I need somebody to play with, but no other. I am a good player. I also played at the state tournament last year. I always thought that I could not win the tournament as I am an ordinary player, but I won the tournament for only my third year in the badminton club. Badminton is a very good sport and I can't stop playing it. I hope that I can improve my skills as much as possible in badminton.

In the past three years, I've made it into a little bit of history. I believe that my games have made me a much better person, someone who you can count on, someone whom you can trust. I believe that my game is my best friend. It is the best friend that does not always agree with me. But at least, it is always there for me. I know I don't play my best, but I try. I know my faults, but I try not to give them a chance. I play because I want to play, because I enjoy it, and for the love of the game. This is my purpose and my reason for playing.

Every time I go on the court, I try to think "why". It helps me understand the fundamentals of playing the game. Before every match, I go back to "why". It clears my head and helps me make sure that I have the right attitude for my game.

I think that everyone should ask themselves that question. We all play for different reasons. Some for money, some to lose weight, some to please their coach, some to impress their friends. And some people play to impress their friends. To be honest, I think that the best friends are the ones who support you in your life's endeavours, and the people who you do not need support from.

What's the story behind the "why"?

What's the reason you play? Is it because your coach asked you to play? Is it to lose weight? Is it because you like the way your opponent looks?

Playing badminton keeps us physically fit and mentally refreshed. Badminton is a very popular game for women also. India has produced several renowned badminton players like Gopichand, Saina Nehwal, P.V. Sindhu, and so on. India’s performance at the international level badminton is very pleasing. Badminton is not an easy game to play. It requires physical fitness along with good eyesight and mental agility. Lack of concentration may lead to defeat in the game.

My Favorite Sport Badminton Essay

Badminton is my favorite activity because playing it helps me stay active throughout the day. Playing it requires speed, strength, and precision. To become a good player, he or she needs to practice frequently.

People Playing Badminton

When I play it with my friends, I feel energetic throughout the day. Playing it feeds my body with the much-needed energy to help me go through each day. It is an interesting game because every time I play, there is some anxiety mixed with excitement in the end. At the end of the game, there has to be a winner, and this makes the battle more exciting.

When and Why I Started Playing My Favorite Game Badminton

I started playing badminton when I was only 9 years old. It was my uncle, a professional player, who first got me interested in the game. I joined in on his practice sessions whenever I was free. I learned most of my skills by observing my uncle play in most professional tournaments where he usually emerges as the winner. I also developed an interest in playing it because after playing I feel relaxed and destressed.

When I feel low, I prefer playing it instead of just going shopping or playing computer games. The game often reminds me of how my father taught me some simple techniques for defending myself from bullies by hitting them with the ball. It was one of the first lessons my father taught me on how to defend myself instead of relying on my big brother in school.

How to Play Badminton

Playing it is easy. With two rackets and a shuttlecock, you can get a game going. The shuttlecock, which is essentially the “ball” in badminton, is made from goose feathers and attached to a small piece of cork. The rackets for playing are light, weighing about 90 grams.

When playing, you need to smash the shuttlecock in the opponent’s direction. Players need a lot of energy to ensure that the shuttlecock crosses over the net in the opposite direction. Shot-wise, there are six main types of shots: the serve, the clear, the drop, the smash, the backhand drive, and the forehand drive.

A Woman Playing Badminton

Badminton is played on a rectangular court. Like tennis. the court is halved with a net; the only difference is that the net is raised higher and the ball is lighter. The game was derived from the house of Duke of Beaufort, in England, where the first game of badminton was played.

The best part about playing badminton is that it gives me a reason to gather my friends and family and spend time with them. My friends and I have played in several competitions, but I have never reached the finals until recently – I was the finalist in the Austrian badminton open tournament for teenagers. In the end, I was the second runner-up.

The most interesting thing about badminton is that the more you play, the more you feel challenged by your opponent. Getting involved in the game frequently makes you want to perfect your skills and become a great player.

Playing it is more fun, engaging, and fulfilling than spending time immersed in computer games. Having played this game for a long time, my body is in great shape, and I have made many friends along the way. To me, it is more than a sport that keeps me active. It is a great way for me to unwind, destress, and meet new people.

Have you ever tried playing badminton? If not, it is a great time to start. Find someone who plays and get coached on the basics of the sport. I guarantee that all the stress you’ve experienced on that day will melt away. Once you have mastered the basics, try getting involved in a singles match and see how well you fare. Competition has a way of bringing out your need for excellence and drive to succeed.

Even if you’re not sure if you’ll like it, give it a try. You never know if it will eventually become your favorite activity or if you’ll end up joyfully winning your first championship in a few years’ time.

Short Essay On My Favorite Game Badminton

For many people it’s basketball, and for some, it’s volleyball. But to me, badminton is the sport that makes me feel happy, energized, inspired, and fulfilled. I never really thought that I would end up playing competitively and be so attached to the game, but it has now become a regular and important part of my life. I can no longer imagine my weekends without it.

An indoor game played with two rackets and a light shuttlecock, badminton is quite heavy on running and arm work. The shuttlecock flies on a different trajectory than other sports “balls,” so you would really need a lot of practice to get used to its impact on your racket. It is also an Olympic sport. I love watching the matches with my other friends during Olympics season.

More than a way to maintain a good weight and stay active, badminton has become a way for me to destress after long days. It has also helped me find people who share the same love for the sport. I play singles matches or mixed doubles with my friends every weekend, and we always make it a point to bring in someone who is new to the sport.

At the end of the day, badminton is a vital part of my life that I hope to keep in the years to come. No matter how busy I get, I know that this passion of mine will sustain me through the darker days.

How To Explain Why Badminton Is My Favorite Game?

To explain why it is near and dear to your heart, you have to go beyond explaining the basics of the game, its history, and the most popular techniques. You have to get personal as you write your essay. Think about how far back your love for the game goes. What started it? Who inspired you? Was there a particular moment in your life when you decided that you finally couldn’t live without it? What kind of joy or thrill do you get out of it? Identify all the ways in which the sport has added value to your life and write convincingly, with the goal of encouraging the reader to give it a try. Your goal at the end of the day is to deepen appreciation of it, especially if they are not as well-versed in the game.

Why Is Badminton An Indoor Sport?

Many people are probably wondering why badminton isn’t an outdoor sport. If you’ve ever tried playing it outdoors, you will notice that there is an increased difficulty in getting the game going due to many weather factors. Most commonly, the wind changes the trajectory of the light shuttlecock, which affects its course no matter how well you hit or aim at it. Even a light wind or gentle breeze can completely affect the direction and pace of your shuttlecock. Many times they will end up getting caught in the air and dropping down completely mid-way.

My Favourite Game Badminton Essay in English

My Favourite Game Badminton essay

My Favourite Game Badminton Essay; Badminton, my favorite indoor game, involves a lightweight racket and a shuttlecock. Originally made with a cork and 16 goose feathers, the shuttlecock weighed around 5 grams. While traditional designs may still have some use, the Badminton World Federation (BWF) allows the more common use of shuttles made from synthetic materials. This flexibility aligns with global regulations, ensuring a consistent and enjoyable badminton experience for players worldwide.

Badminton, a competitive racquet sport demanding speed, agility, and skill, is played by either two or four players who hit a lightweight shuttlecock back and forth across the court using crosswise-held racquets. A match comprises the best-of-three games, each played to 21 points. The swift and dynamic nature of the game, along with the delicate nature of the shuttlecock, adds to the excitement and challenge on the badminton court.

Engaging in badminton serves as an excellent full-body workout . The sport not only strengthens muscles but also enhances reflexes, motor coordination, flexibility, and balance. What sets badminton apart is its ability to engage and work every muscle in the body, making it a comprehensive and effective exercise.

My Favourite Game Badminton

I really like playing badminton with my friends and family because it’s a game that combines skill, speed, and endurance. It’s fast and anyone, no matter how fit, can play. You don’t need special equipment, and you can play it in many different places. What’s great about badminton is that I’m always learning new strategies, and I find it more challenging than other sports. It’s fun because it requires skill and concentration, and sometimes it can be tricky. I enjoy badminton a lot because it’s different – you use your hand muscles to hit the shuttlecock.

The Badminton World Federation, or BWF, is the group that makes rules for badminton around the world. It started in 1934. People really love badminton in places like Indonesia, Japan, Denmark, and Malaysia. The first big championship organized by BWF happened in 1977.

There are many tournaments held in different countries, like the famous All-England championships. Some international tournaments everyone knows about are the Uber Cup and Thomas Cup. These events bring together players from all over the world to compete and show their skills in badminton. My Favourite Game Badminton Essay

Badminton in the Olympics

Badminton made its debut in the Olympics in 1972 as a demonstration sport, and it became a full-fledged medal event in 1992. Men’s and women’s doubles were part of the competition, with mixed doubles introduced in the 1996 Olympics.

Badminton became an Olympic sport in 1992, and it has been a part of every Olympic game since then. This fast and exciting game is played on a small rectangular court or outdoors with a racquet and a shuttlecock. It’s one of the five sports that have been in every Olympic game, along with archery, basketball, swimming, and gymnastics.

You can play badminton alone or in teams of two or four people, making it both an individual and a team sport. In conclusion, badminton is a fantastic sport that not only keeps us physically active but also sharpens our minds. Competitive badminton is typically an indoor sport to avoid any impact from even the lightest winds on the shuttlecock. The court for badminton is a rectangle, 13.4 meters long and 5.2 meters wide for singles matches, with a net that is 1.5 meters high, stretching across the width of the court at its center.

A 1.3-meter clear space surrounding the court is necessary. The objective of the game is to hit the shuttlecock back and forth over the net, aiming to keep it from touching the ground within the court boundaries. This creates a dynamic and captivating sport that is appreciated by players globally. My Favourite Game Badminton Essay

The players have to serve the shuttlecock, and the other side has to hit it back and not let it touch the floor. If the shuttlecock hits the floor, the other side receives a point. They also get to serve. The match is divided into sets of two. The first team or player to reach 21 points becomes the winner. I love to play badminton with my family and friends.
