The School Playground

There is a good playground in our school. It is just close to the school. It has green grass looking like green velvet all round the ground.

There are green shrubs which are beautifully trimmed. There is a gardener to water and look after it. It is divided into 4 parts. We play football, hockey, cricket and volleyball. It is compulsory for every student to take part in games. Each game is in the charge of a teacher. The games begin at half past five.

It is pleasant sight to see all the students at play. The headmaster and the Teachers join the games. There is a wave of joy and happiness everywhere. All look  bright happy and jolly.

The real refreshing break that a student gets during his busy day at school is at the recess period. Students wait anxiously for this period. At the stroke of the first bell, students rush out of their respective classrooms. Most of them carry their lunch boxes with them. They quickly occupy their favorite places in the school garden or on the grounds around the school They sit in groups of three or four and take their lunch. Those who have not brought their lunch play in the ground. Here they also wait for others to join them. A few senior students go to the library to read newspapers and magazines. Others sit inside the classroom trying to finish various assignments given by the teacher. Teachers, on the other hand, take some much-needed rest. Some of them drink tea and eat snacks. While the others just sit back and chat or read some magazines. A school during recess is a hive of activity Students can be seen playing, running, or simply walking. Petty hawkers selling ice-creams, fruits, and sweetmeats do a roaring business during this period. A small crowd of students, buying little refreshments, can be seen around them. So we did not use these toys and tools while paying as we knew that those are only for small kids. The friends I played with were my classmates as well and we were very intimate at that time

I liked playing in this playground very much. Actuality I liked it so much that I still remember this playground. I have played in many other playgrounds but while thinking about them, I found I miss this particular playground from my early school more than many other places where I played. That’s why I picked it to talk about. I guess I will never forget my days of childhood and my memory regarding this playground where I often played with my classmates and friends

A pupil cannot study well unless he has good health. Games and exercise help a pupil to enjoy good health. So a school playground is needed to help to keep pupils in good health.

We have a large playground with enough space to play all kinds of games. We play hockey, football and cricket on our playground. We also have a shed where indoor games are played. My favourite indoor game is table tennis.

Our Annual Sports takes place in our school playground this is the best time I enjoy playing and participating in different events.

My parents insist that play for an hour daily on our playground. They realize the importance of games and exercise. In maintaining good health, I come back home quite refreshed after playing games on our playground
