What happened to slader: new life as quizlet explanations.
We all know how it is to struggle with homework and how textbook solutions and homework explanations can be of utmost help. In this article, we’ll review once renowned homework assistant Slader and what happened to it, as it has become a part of Quizlet and became Quizlet Explanations. We’ll also discuss how you can benefit from the Slader Quizlet change.
The Slader AppâHow It Was
Slader used to offer homework help to students for free. It literally contained millions of solutions for nearly 3 million problems. Students could search by ISBN to find the book they needed and the solutions by chapter, section, and exercise number.
The most popular Slader was among STEM subject learners (Slader math, Slader calculus, Slader geometry, etc.), but Slader homework answers by other subjects such as literature and foreign languages were also extremely popular. One of the greatest things about Slader was that it had a free version; also, anyone could answer questions on the platform. Slader also had a Verified solutions section, where answers were verified by a team of experts.
The Slader App Prices
Slader used to offer three options:
No surprise that the Slader free version was extremely popular, especially among high school students, as according to various reviews, it offered quite a lot:
â 95% of answers to the Stewart Calculus problems are available on Slader. ââReddit
âSlader had almost every single educational book’s questions being answered by students and experts around the world for free.â âReddit
âIâm genuinely concerned for the future without slader⊠it was such a useful tool for checking homework answers and working through problems that I had no idea how to start. I definitely would not have got an A in statistics without the practice I got via slader.â âReddit

Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that Slader Math Homework Answers is a textbook answer-sharing app and site used by middle school, high school, and college students. Users post answers -- including answer keys, handwritten notes, and equations -- from commonly used textbooks. Subjects include math, science, history, English, world languages, and "other," which includes IB, economics, geography, and more. The developers say that there are "millions of user-generated solutions for thousands of textbooks," and they claim that they don't allow any copyrighted material from a textbook to be reposted. At the time of this review, many books in some sections didn't yet have any content uploaded by users. Unless students subscribe for $1.99/month for ad-free content, ads pop up in between answers. Note that the app is meant to offer answers to teens' homework assignment questions, so parents will likely want to monitor use to prevent overt cheating. Whatâs It About?
To use SLADER MATH HOMEWORK ANSWERS, scan your textbook's barcode, browse to find your textbook, or add it if it's not there. Upon opening, the app also asks you to choose whether to allow the app to access your location and send you notifications. Choose a subject: math, science, history, English, world languages, or "other," which includes IB, economics, geography, and more. For examples, tap on Algebra 2, and view dozens of textbook covers. Tap on the desired book. Choose a chapter/section or page number to view the problem and solution. Many books currently do not have any content uploaded by users. To upload a solution, tap on the word "upload" in the upper right of the screen and choose to upload from your phone or take a photo.
Is It Any Good?
Crowdsourcing homework help is cheaper than tutoring, but this app can lead to cheating and misinformation. The main problem with Slader Math Homework Answers is that it can easily be used as a tool to copy answers, so students will learn nothing but how to get access to answer keys in textbooks -- and get potentially wrong answers to other homework problems. As long as students are academically disciplined enough to use it to check their work, or look at the way a contributor arrived at their solution, then it could be an effective homework aid. But that's a big ask for time-pressured students, especially for those who are struggling enough with understanding a topic -- or with time management. There are some very good alternative homework help apps available, where tutors lead students through problems to learn as they assist them at arriving at the right answer. Most students will benefit more from seeking help on those than getting easy answers on this one.
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Families can talk about how Slader Math Homework Answers borders on cheating. How could a middle or high school student use this app ethically? Or is that possible? If so, how? Talk to your kid about the ethical -- and educational -- pitfalls about this app, and their school's (as well as your family's) rules about the kind of homework help that's acceptable.

If you discover that your teen has been relying on this app for a specific subject, it may mean they're struggling with that class in school. Offer to help, or help them find other sources of tutoring or homework help.

Description
A free, user-generated source of step-by-step solutions to homework problems in popular math and science textbooks.
PreAlgebra through Calculus books supported, along with most AP Science level textbooks. Students can also connect with the users who contribute solutions or each other for further support, both through comments on solutions, general Q&As around specific topics, or in real-time chat.
How It Works
Users view and share original answers and work for high school textbooks, join academic classes, post homework assignments, and discuss subject-specific questions with their peers and classmates on the Slader site. Slader offers an alternative to expensive tutors and costly after-school programs. It ensures that every student has access to the academic resources that secure success.
By Students, For Students
Slader is written by students, for students. Our community writes and votes on all content submitted to the site. Slader provides a platform for several academic subjects, which means that every student is able to contribute and collaborate on the subjects that they excel in. Slader removes geographic boundaries, creating an online study group that students can control themselves.
Revolutionizing Education
Slader believes that students are responsible for their own education. We force educators away from the “busy work” model of education, towards one based on mastery of the material. Education cannot and should not be defined by “right answers” and the amount of work assigned. Rather, it should be about individual student comprehension and conceptual understanding. Slader allows students to share their tutorials and expertise with their peers. It’s a study group based in the twenty-first century.
On Slader, every user is a contributor to the site. Contributing solutions to a textbook or discussing The Great Gatsby improves skills and understanding, as well as providing positive reinforcement. Slader believes in rewarding the community for its involvement and participation. Users who contribute original content share in the revenue generated by their solution. Anyone can contribute to Slader. It’s the pay-off for getting involved in your education.

One of the best things about being an adult is we donât have to do homework.
Ed-tech startup Slader released a mobile app today to make homework a less painful part of studentsâ lives.
Slader is an online network where students can collaborate and help each other with their homework. They join academic classes and find the relevant textbooks. From there students can post homework assignments, pose questions to their peers, and view and share their work.
âMost students hate homework because it just reinforces that they donât understand; it provides no path to success,â cofounder Kyle Gerrity told VentureBeat. âSlader is a network that helps students in moments of frustration when theyâre doing homework. No student wants to be a failure, but they often donât have the tools available when they need it.â
Slader said it has worked with over 2 million students around the world and helped solve more than 2 million problems to date.
The Internet has created amazing opportunities to move education away from the traditional lecture-in-classroom, homework-at-home format. Education is experiencing a cultural shift right now, largely driven by technology, where interactive, collaborative, experiential learning is emphasized.
Many educators and schools are adopting aâflipped classroomâ model. This means students consume information while they are at home and use classroom time to work on assignments The underlying idea is that actual mastery of the material happens while students are working on problems and projects, rather than by passively consuming information.
Sladerâs goal is to make working on homework at home more collaborative. The network encourages students to work together to answer their own questions, rather than puzzling over it on their own.
The community writes and votes on all content submitted to the site, so students can both help and receive help from others. They can also engage in online discussions to improve their understanding and hone their thinking.
Gerrity said this is particularly useful for students who are shy about asking questions and sharing their work in a physical classroom, or who live in a household where they donât have access to homework help.
The new mobile app also includes a form of virtual currency called âSlader Goldâ that students earn for solving homework problems and can exchange for real money.
Slader is based in New York City. It was founded by Peter Bernheim, Kyle Gerrity, and Scott Kolb in 2011.Â

A health psychologist was interested in the effects of vitamin supplements on the immune system. Three groups of adults were exposed (in a highly ethical way) to the cold virus; one group took no supplements for a week before exposure, another had vitamin C supplements, and a third had multivitamins (excluding C). The severity of the cold was measured as a percentage (0% = not contracted, 100% very severe symptoms). The psychologist also measured the number of cigarettes that each person smoked per day, as smoking suppresses the immune system. The psychologist was interested in the differences in the severity of the illnesses across different vitamin groups accounting for cigarette usage. B. Two-way independent ANOVA

Homework help
The downsides of free homework help..
How often do use assistance of the Internet in doing your homework? We bet, it's your daily routine to open a browser and start looking for solutions. Do you think the strangers on the other side of the screen will provide necessary information for your math homework help? Unlikely! After one successful task there might be a sad outcome. We want you to be cautious about the websites you look for assistance, that's why we have gathered the disadvantages of asking Google for free homework help.
First, and the main downside is the inability to check the result. People helping you with your task might not know the answers themselves. And what assistance would you get in this case? Wrong answers!
Second, it's the proficiency of the strangers on the other side of the screen. Who are they? College professors who came to provide homework help for free? Or just students like you who might not be able to cope with a simple task. They might not now anything about the subject, or might be way too self-confident and give you wrong answers.
Think twice before using the help from these people. In the next part of the article we describe the most popular sources of homework assistance and give our honest opinion about them.
The best websites for homework help.
When a student is looking for help he always (no exaggeration!) expects it to be free. Of course, being a college student always means being tight on budget and looking for the ways to save money even more. But it should be related to college homework help. Sadly, there are thousands of examples when a bad homework resulted in bad grades, and a poor student had to learn more to pass the exam. That's why we don't recommend to look for answers on the websites like Reddit or Chegg. Why? We explain below.
Chegg homework help is a paid service. You need to buy a monthly subscription to use it. Is it worth it? Depends on your professor. If the tasks you get are strictly from a textbook, then it might be good. To cope with a creative teachers this website has nothing to offer.
The same goes for Reddit homework help. It might be useful when you're looking for solutions on a standard task, the one that dozens of people are struggling with as well. There's nothing these services can offer if you're homework is unique and created by a teacher himself. What to do in this case? Read our recommendations below.
We recommend to try it!
There's an easy and cheap solution that will help you succeed in your studies. A personal assistance with homework created just for your tasks. No need to scroll pages looking for similar tasks and subjects, no need to copy from the screen and guess, if the results are correct. Professionals will perform the task for you! All you have to do is to provide it and enjoy a personalized approach and high quality service. After that you'll never come back to Reddit in search of answers!
