  • Develops policies, procedures, and criteria for administration of the health science research program on precision health research.
  • Analyzes the needs, strategic plans, and goals of the research program and makes recommendations for new directions, initiatives, policies, and procedures.
  • Participates in senior management and policy decisions regarding strategic planning, priority setting, staffing, budget, and operations; administers screening, advisory and approval processes for MVP.
  • Develops and coordinates implementation of research methods and design standards, criteria and guidelines for the scientific and technical activities of the research program; prepares proposals that meet review process requirements; and consults with supervisor to develop project presentation, budget recommendations and resource allocations for proposed projects.
  • Applies knowledge of genomic medicine research to strengthen scientific review process.
  • Identifies and recruits scientists to serve on review committees. Monitors and reports on progress in the genomic medicine and precision health research areas, both internal and external.
  • Coordinates review meetings and oversees logistics including administrative support work.
  • Provides advice to investigators regarding preparation of proposals and review criteria.
  • Applies skill of research and development policies and procedures, choose appropriate references and interprets its meaning in response to questions from investigators.
  • Evaluates merit review projects recommended for funding and contributes to general portfolio management.
  • Mediates between R&D offices and investigators to resolve difficult/unusual problems.
  • Performs other duties as necessary.

The Provider Enrollment Representative supports the Provider Enrollment Department by performing clerical duties, special projects, and general tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.   • Assists Provider Enrollment Specialist and Sr. Provider Enrollment Specialist with preparing necessary documents for issuance of provider numbers for physicians and midlevel providers.
  • Assists Provider Enrollment Specialist, Sr. Provider Enrollment Specialist and Supervisor in a team effort on projects, such as new start-ups, change in business (i.e. tax ID numbers and entities) as required by carrier, or when directed by the Supervisor.
  • Receives and distributes all incoming mail from the Post Office and other TeamHealth locations.
  • Maintains organized group and individual provider files.
  • Helps prepare applications for issuance of provider numbers for physicians and midlevel providers, makes copies, and faxes information as assigned.
  • Updates information as assigned.
  • Prepares W-9 forms and correspondence.
  • Assists Supervisor with reports.
  • Communicates information input into the IDX System and TeamWorks including new providers and updates of provider information using the appropriate forms.
  • Responsible for Annual Disclosures.
  • Research Revalidations.
  • Responsible for payer research when requested.

Job Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Meticulous accuracy.

  • Minimum of 45-50 WPM typing skills.
  • Good Computer skills
  • Good decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.

Physician Services Cash Research Representative - Remote

JOB SUMMARY

The core responsibilities of a Cash Research Associate are to identify the correct location for the payments and determine how the money will be appropriately moved. This position is also responsible to locate payments identified as deposited by a patient or insurance company but not yet applied to the correct invoice. Posting the data involves using correct payment codes, FSC, and ANSI denial code to populate fields on the correct screen in the practice management system. Associate may be required to complete additional paperwork in order to reconcile batch. Associate may also be required to utilize multiple websites or communicate with multiple insurance companies via telephone in order to complete required task. All job functions must be completed with a minimum of errors. Associate must be able to work independently.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage holding/suspense accounts to maintain timely follow-up response
  • Research payments identified as missing
  • Enter alphabetic, numeric, or symbolic data
  • Contact Manager to resolve questions, inconsistencies, or missing data
  • Learn computer applications as they relate to denial management systems; proficiency in at least 2 of the multiple practice management systems (Epic, IDX, ADS), and insurance carrier websites
  • Assist cash applications department to locate missing EOB’s, patients, and various projects as assigned

Compensation and Benefit Information

Compensation

  • Pay: $12.30-$18.40 per hour. Compensation depends on location, qualifications, and experience.
  • Position may be eligible for a signing bonus for qualified new hires, subject to employment status.

DESCRIPTION

The University of California’s only school of international affairs, the School of Global Policy & Strategy (GPS) provides a unique resource for training leaders, generating ideas, and building networks for the Pacific Century. GPS is internationally renowned for its innovative programs, superb faculty and outstanding students and now stands among the world's top graduate schools of international relations and is the established leader in its focus on Asia and the Americas. GPS instructs a diverse student body consisting of 60% domestic and 40% international students in MPP, MCEPA, MIA, BA-MIA, MAS, joint PhD with Department of Political Science and executive education programs. GPS also administers the International Studies Program, a fast-growing interdisciplinary program with over 1700 declared undergraduate majors, that offers a rigorous curriculum for undergraduate students interested in international affairs. Offering nine B.A. degree options, three combined BA/MIA program, and a minor program, the International Studies Program explores the international, national and local processes that have, over time, shaped globalization. GPS is also the parent organization to major research centers: Center on Global Transformation (CGT), Center for U.S.-Mexican Studies, 21st Century China Center, Fudan-UC Center on China, Institute on Global Conflict and Cooperation (IGCC), Policy Design and Evaluation Lab (PDEL), Laboratory on International Law and Regulation (ILAR), and Japan Forum for Innovation and Technology (JFIT).

Under direct supervision, this position will entail close collaboration and assistance with all stages of new and ongoing empirical projects in political economy, development, and economic history. The incumbent will work with large-scale administrative, survey, and census data from Indonesia and the United States.

Under direct supervision, acquires skills and knowledge of professional concepts in research data analysis. Works on small projects or segments of projects with limited scope and complexity.

  • Occasional evenings and weekends may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in performing statistical analyses of categorical and qualitative data.

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in economics, statistics, computer science, mathematics, political science, or a related field.

Statistical analysis, systems programming, and database design skills to perform research analysis duties.

Experience with computer/word processing skills, with experience on Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, spreadsheet and database software such as JMP, R, and SPSS and citations databases in Endnote.

Knowledge of research function. Acquiring ability to perform research analysis duties. Must be detail-oriented with strong programming experience in Stata and/or R.

Ability to effectively manage time and see assigned parts of projects through to completion on deadline. Proven ability to juggle multiple related projects in parallel with concurrent and staggered deadlines.

Basic consultation and communication skills.

Ability to perform standard, repetitive tasks at a computer. Basic knowledge of various computer platforms with experience using Mac or PC. Willingness and ability to learn new computer programs and tools as needed.

Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate ideas in writing, prepare reports, and assist in writing and editing professional manuscripts for publication.

Demonstrated organizational and project coordination skills, including ability to work independently, determine appropriate priorities, and complete projects accurately, efficiently, and with a high level of attention to detail.

Willingness and demonstrated ability to embrace and consistently uphold the principles of community for a collaborative work environment.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to foster a good working relationship with a wide variety of people, including staff, faculty, and students, using tact, diplomacy, confidentiality and flexibility.

  • Strong programming experience in Stata and/or R. Familiarity with GIS and Python.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $61,800 - $108,000 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $29.60 - $51.72
