What is CourseWorks (Canvas)?

Columbia University's CourseWorks Learning Management System (LMS) is powered by Canvas . 

Accessing Courseworks 

  • You can access your course sites at http://courseworks.columbia.edu
  • Under Courseworks (powered by Canvas) click UNI LOGIN
  • Once you click UNI LOGIN you will be asked for your University Network ID (UNI) and password. These are the same credentials you use to log in to Columbia Web sites and to check your email.
  • You will be brought to the Canvas Dashboard.
  • On the left is the blue Global Navigation pane. To see a listing of all your Canvas courses, click on the  Courses link. Click on My Courses  to see a list of your courses sorted by semesters.

CourseWorks is Columbia University's online course management system. With CourseWorks, instructors can easily manage course materials, class meetings, assignments, and student collaboration from a single website.

To get started, log into CourseWorks with your Columbia UNI .

CourseWorks Columbia has transitioned to a new version of CourseWorks that offers faculty more features, greater customization, and faster performance for managing course websites.

CourseWorks Support CCNMTL offers faculty and instructors many ways to get help with CourseWorks, including quick online video tutorials, a searchable Knowledge Base, and one-on-one consultations.

Finding Library Materials

  • The Libraries'  website  is a gateway to collections and services.
  • CLIO  is the libraries' primary search interface . It provides access to many kinds of resources, including books, databases, journals, and articles. 
  • Scan & Deliver   enables students, faculty and staff to request electronic delivery of articles and book chapters from the general print collections of most Columbia Libraries.
  • Borrow Direct   enables you to borrow books directly from other university libraries if the book you need is unavailable or is not owned by Columbia University.
  • Interlibrary Loan  is the service to use for items that are not available through Borrow Direct, such as journal articles.
  • Access to Other Libraries : Information on reciprocal access and on-site borrowing privileges at a number of other universities, including NYU.
