Essay on “a summer day at water park” for students and children, best essay, paragraph, speech for class 7, 8, 9, 10.

A Summer Day at Water Park

Summer vacations are the favourite time of the year for every child. As soon as my final examinations got over, I bid goodbye to long hours of homework and studies. I decided to venture into the world of adventure. Since long I had desire to visit an Aqua Park. I am too small to travel alone, thus, I requested my parents to arrange a trip to the park.

Daddy made all the arrangements and planned for the trip. As per the size of the group, various tickets and package options were available. My daddy chose one and booked tickets for us. I knew that my summer vacations were welcomed by the magical land of Aqua Park to indulge in some of the coolest aqua fun. I was about to experience an unforgettable summer day.

By 11 a.m., we reached the park. I was very thrilled to enjoy different rides. I started exploring rides and other attractions. Every ride was specially designed to make us forget about outside world for a while. In all, there were 20 themed rides. There was rollercoaster ride that went round 360 degrees. It made the rider’s heart beat faster.

The Gold Rush express took us through the world of old American West landscape. This ride sent us ravines, ranches, parlours and saloons with cowboys and pistol training. One could also enjoy Stimulated Aircraft ride. It took its ride over different sights and attractions across India.

Some of the must visit rides were Loopy Whoopy, Screamer, Zip Zap Zoom, Aqua Tube, Aqua Funnel and Twisty Turvy. In Twisty Turvy, a coaster dropped and curved blasting the riders to uphill on water jets, launching them into the super bowl with force, keeping them high on the wall for several turns before ending through a surrounded flume into a splashdown pool. Screamer was one of my favourite rides. It was a ride featuring ‘rattles’ that changed shape in alignment with the different lengths of cylinders allowing riders to experience completely different sensations since each rattle was longer than the last.

I even enjoyed in Zip Zap Zoom, which had a six-lane, high-speed mat racer that sent riders through walled looping tubes. We challenged each other and raced down together through the enclosed fume section. Loopy Whoopy was a ride that comprised a launch capsule that was controlled by a trap door, leading to a steep, near-upright door sliding into an inclined loop.

Nothing could have beaten the summer heat like a thrilling day at a water park. However, we had to make sure that we carried our favourite piece of swimmer. The water park promised a delightful day filled with excitement and laughter. It made an unforgettable summer experience for me that I took back to school.

Narrative Essay Example: Water Park

You could feel the humidity, smell the food, and hear screams of delight. My family and I were at a humongous water park with over 25 slides. It was so huge I couldn’t even see half of the park. This water park was a part of an even larger hotel. The hotel had over 20 floors, plus the only way to get to this park would be to walk through a see-through tunnel over 300 feet above the ground. If I didn’t see it with my own eyes, I never would have thought it would be possible for a hotel to have a water park. The size of this water park was even larger than the largest water park I had previously known, Raging Waters.

We quickly found a spot to put down our towels and started riding all of the biggest slides. The giant slides were all different. One of them towered over all of the others. I stood in amazement as my eyes widened and I gaped in awe at a bowl shaped part of the slide, where you could spin around. I got in the long line and started waiting. Finally, it was my turn. I almost fell off of the ride and had to pull myself back up. The others were just fast and short, but they were fun. My brothers and I went on some of the giant slides a couple of times but they weren’t fast enough for me, plus the wait wasn’t worth it.

Then, I spotted a wave pool from the corner of my eye, so my brothers and I dashed over. A sign said that every 20 minutes, giant waves for 5 minutes. We made the best of the 3 minutes that remained. Twenty minutes later, we returned with blown up rafts. After swimming and having fun for a few minutes, we came up with a game. A person had to try and stay on the raft while the other two people would try to flip the raft over. You would have to move fast enough to to move from side to side and keep the raft balanced. After the large waves stopped for the next 20 minutes, we left the wave pool, and went to go on some slides.

We decided to go on some medium sized slides, not wanting to wait in any more huge lines. However, before we were about to decide to go back to our hotel room, we came to a slide called the Canada Plunge. It was a normal slide, other than the 80-degree drop down. Plus, the only way to go down it was headfirst on a small blown up raft. I zoomed down the ride, at least going 20 miles per hour. After the first time, I couldn’t stop. It was so fun! I was addicted. Whenever I was going down the slide, I could hear the wind howling, which made me forget about everything else. It was like skiing down a huge hill. I rode the slide at least 5 more times. I couldn't get enough. I wanted to keep going, but I remembered that the wave pool was about to start again. Knowing we could go down that slide later, we decided to go to the wave pool again. We returned to the Canada Plunge and rotated from one to the other for the next couple hours, occasionally riding some of the other slides.

I was in the wave pool when I heard my parents say it’s time to go. I had assumed we were going to be able to stay the whole day, but apparently my parents had other plans. I was sad, but I remembered we would still have tomorrow. The next day we had even more things to do, such as going to Niagara Falls, and eating dinner at the rotating Skylon Tower, where we would enjoy our dinners 400 feet above the Niagara Falls, while enjoying a gorgeous 360 degree view. Sadly, I was never able to go back to that water park and ride the Canada Plunge again.

Best Water Resources Essay Examples

2371 words | 6 page(s)

Introduction

For the past two decades, water parks have gained increased popularity, following increased demand for skyrocketing and entertainment. Not all people have the time and the opportunity to visit coastal line beaches. As such, the development of water parks has provided an important solution to people who want to have recreation and fun but lack the time to travel to the ocean or water falls. To continue providing the best services to citizens in its locality, the City of Gevgelija has developed a plan to build a water park to be located at Gevgelija, Macedonia. Gevgelija has been selected as the preferred location because of its good accessibility and proximity. The city of Gevgelija accommodates different types of technical and skilled workers and this has really helped the city to grow2. The development of a water park will be an important achievement to the city’s management. More specifically, the developed park will benefit all people irrespective of their gender, age, and social class.

Having gained its independence in early 1980s, Macedonia is considered a relatively young country 2. Before it gained sovereignty, the country was a part of the larger Republic of Yugoslavia. To be a member of the European Union, a country must meet certain standards in infrastructure, civic education, and good governance. Though Macedonia is not a member yet, it has been granted the “Accession Status,” a sign that the country is headed in the right direction. For the past decade, the country has been struggling with the funding and maintenance of projects 2. The reduced availability of financing resources has led to increased demand for new innovations to maintain the infrastructure at relatively lower and affordable costs. If the management can maintain the park at relatively lower costs, it will have more money to spend on building other infrastructures or maintain the already existing infrastructures. To promote continued maintenance and sustainability, the management may also want to implement infrastructure with very minimal maintenance cost.

In terms of the surrounding environmental conditions, the City of Gevgelija has a good climate that ranges between 30 and 45 degrees Celsius, during the summer season 3. The climate is closely related to the that of the Mediterranean, comprised of hot summers and cool winds. During winter, temperature readings are measured between -10 and 10 degrees Celsius. The good climate and surrounding environment is good news to those who would like to pay a visit to the region and have some good time 3. With the development of the water park, visitors will get a rare opportunity to enjoy the coolness of the splashing water when they visit the park during the summer. Most industries in the City of Gevgelija prefer to produce light materials and foods such as canned fruits, vegetables, textiles, wines, and plastics. There is also a dedicated team of workers in the region who provide surrounding companies with the needed labor force3. To timely complete the construction of the water park, the developer will source some labor from the surrounding communities.

The project will be positioned at the heart of the city, adjacent to the main automotive motorway, the enclosed hotel terrace, and the pedestrian-only boulevard. A layout of the water park has been included in the appendix section as Appendix 1.

The Kool Kids Water Park’s technical design, including the structural and hydraulic system will guide the develop during construction. The contractor will work with internal and external engineers to ensure that the project is fully implemented. To reduce the project’s impact on the environment, several measures will be taken. The management of the city is fully committed to protecting the environment. The successful completion of the project will allow the people to celebrating their cultural background as residents of Gevgelija.

Environmental Considerations Noise Pollution Noise pollution is an important element of consideration when it comes to the development and launching of the project. Since noise is an environmental pollutant, the construction company will want to reduce the noise to the lowest levels possible. Depending on the nature of the project, noise will mainly emanate from three major sources. First is the machines used to dig the ground and drill the rocks 1. The machines will include bull dozers and excavators. The noise form these machines will be minimized by surrounding the construction site with strong and noise proof perimeter walls. The second source of noise pollution will be the heavy concrete works. Heavy machines will be used to break and mix the concrete materials. Noise from these machine swill be reduced with the use of quieter equipment.

Through technology, there has been the development of machines that make very little noise when grinding and mixing the concrete. If the construction company, cannot afford to purchase new and improved construction equipment, it may want to retrofit the existing equipment with damping materials and mufflers 1. To make sure that the activities of the hotel near the site is not affected a walking path will be created to be used by the visitors. As a way of minimizing noise disturbances, workers will be asked to avail themselves at a specified time of the day, with the rest being reserved for the evening when most people working near the site have left. Another good way of minimizing the disturbances will be to shut down loud machines when they are not in use. An important part of workplace safety on the site will be to protect workers from loud noises that may damage their ears. As such, the construction company will provide them with protective equipment such as ear muffs. Once the site has been completed, noise may emanate from managers and employees working at the offices various allotments once the facility is fully operational. To control the noise, the management of the park will draft the rules and regulations to be followed by al visitors.

Air Pollution Air pollution will be a major challenge facing the water park construction project. Air pollution will result from two major sources. The firsts source is from the soil and sand particles deposited into the air during activities such as groundbreaking, concrete mixing, and during the movement of machines and the lorries 6. This form of air pollution will be addressed by carefully moving the groundbreaking and concrete mixing machines to ensure that they do not create a lot of dust particles. The other source is carbon emissions from the machines used in the construction process. the fact that heavy machines will be used means that they will be heavy carbon emissions 6. This problem can be addressed by bringing fuel-efficient machines that have very little carbon emissions.

Park Maintenance After the park, has been fully constructed and opened to members of the public, the next step will be to effectively manage and maintain the park. Maintaining the park begins with making sure that the visitors do not litter in the park’s compound. To manage pollution resulting from litters, the management will introduce litter bins in all major locations and put signs directing visitors where they can deposit litter materials 4. An important part of the management’s effort to protect the environment will be to reduce the park’s environmental impact. The management will meet the effort by selecting the materials to be used within the park on their basis of lifetime, sustainability and safety.

Many buildings and infrastructures in the park will be composed of concrete structures made from a combination of water and aggregate. The splash pad will be a key symbol of the water park and will be finished with concrete, covered with a brushed finish to make it less slippery by increasing the coefficient of friction. Because of the limited space, the splash pad will not be built with the capacity to carry as much water as a pool. However, the splashed water will be recollected and recycled through a recirculation system4. Using a recirculation system will greatly help in reducing costs attributed to water purchase and disposal. Recycling the water will also help in preserving the natural environment, through preservation. To reduce the loss of water, a buffer zone will be built around the splash pad. For quick draining of the water, the drains will be put at the center. To ensure minimal loss of the water, the pad will be built in a sloped position, towards the drain. Although many development have been made to prevent water loss, some water will still be lost. A good method of maintaining constant water levels in the recirculation system will be to connect the water pad to a nearby water circulation system 5. Even with the availability of water, the management will use all efforts possible in ensuring that the water is well saved.

Before the water is allowed to the park’s circulation system, it will need to be treated. When in the recirculation system, the water will undergo both the primary and secondary treatment processes. After the water, has left the splash pad, it will flow down the drains and out to the tap, where large debris pieces will be filtered out. The water will then be allowed to flow through to the containment reservoir, where sand and all small debris will be filtered out. After sand, has been filtered, the water will be heated and later treated with UV light. UV light will be selected as the main method of purification because of its great ability to kill pathogens that are resistant to chlorine 5. The water will then undergo a chlorine treatment in the chlorine reservoir. The chlorine treatment is the secondary treatment and will mark the end of the water treatment process. the treated water will then be directed to the splash pad through the water circulation system, where it will be preserved waiting to be used.

Materials One of the main materials that will be used in this project is the PVC plastic pipes. The pipes will be used in the dry park and have been preferred because of their soft texture and cushiony characteristics. To improve the cost effectiveness of the project, the PVC pipes will also be made using recycled materials. The materials used will be perforated on the surface to prevent them from retaining water 8. the perforations will also allow the free flow of air and help in preventing the growth of mold. To ensure that the outside is resistant to cracking, the surface will be hardened further. The management expects that the plastic cushioning will last for at least 20 years before replacement.

Another important development on the site will be the building of the planters. To make the planters, the construction company will mix concrete combine with an elevated curb the perimeter wall. The main work of the curb will be to hold the original trees earlier held by the grove used in the construction of the Northern area of the splash pad. The planters will be watered using a drip-line drawn from the Appollonia Hotel’s on-site water system.

Electrical System

Given the huge size of the park, the developer will need to come up with a sophisticated electrical system. The electric system will provide the needed power in running the water treatment machine, running operation machines and computers, and lighting the entire facility. The main components of the control unit will include; temperature sensors, pump, chlorine feeder, heaters, and the controls unit. The control unit is the place where all the various electrical functionalities will be operated from. The temperature sensor will operate by sending an analogue signal to the control unit, which will later be converted to a digital input, to be decoded by the processor in the Analogue Digital Converter (ADC). Because the control unit only has a maximum power output of 500mA and 5 VDC, it cannot be solely used as a power supplier 7. As such, a magnetic switch (relay) will be between the devices and the external sources of power. When referring to devices, the focus is on items such as the UV Disinfection Sterilizer, water pump, feeders, and the heaters. 5VDC will be used to power the relay but an important point to note is that it cannot contact AC/DC power to the level of 28VCD/22OVAC given that each contact has 10Am.

Solar panels will be the main source of power and will be fed to the main system using a charger. The solar panels have specifically been selected for this project because they are readily available and they are also cheap. The cost of running and maintaining solar panels is also significantly lower compared with the cost of electricity from a power generation company. The charging system has been implemented to ensure that the system and the battery are continually charged to continue powering the system even when the sun goes down. An important part of the electrical system is the inverter 7. Its main work is to convert the DC current to AC so that it can be used in the system. To promote efficiency, solar panels will be backed up by generators to be used during rainy days or in cases of power failure.

Conclusion Building a water park is a complicated process that requires a developer to weigh various options before deciding on the location, materials, and environmental impacts of the whole project. Given that the project has been implemented in a city with many residents, an important consideration that has been made by the developer is the environmental impacts of the project. The developer has used various materials such as sand and cement and this has, contributed to environmental pollution. Also, the developer has used heavy machines and this means that there have been incidences of noise pollution. Various measures have been put in place to minimize the project impacts to the environment and to peoples’ health. The completion of the project has signaled the implementation of good management in that has ensured that people have good access to the park. PVC pipes and concrete mixtures are the main materials used in the construction project. An elaborate power system has been implemented to power all the devices implemented in the project including heaters, chlorine feeders, pumps, and temperature sensors. The recently developed technological development will help engineers in learning new ways of building bigger and better water parks.

Short Essay on A Visit to a Park in 100 Words

All of us need some sort of entertainment in our lives. We tend to visit several places to spend some quality time with our parents and family. Visiting a park is one of the most fantastic attractions in all of them. I recently saw a water park in Kolkata to boost myself up after long-drawn pandemic jeopardy. Visiting there with my friends was an additional reward.

We enjoyed each other’s company, laughed, played, and hyped the energy. It was such a bliss to be out in the open sun. Everywhere there was mirth and playfulness. I felt how even a small excuse of visiting a park can bring together so many people. The visit appeared to be more like an unbridled and happy social meeting.

Short Essay on a Visit to a Park in 200 Words

Entertainment is a mode to unleash all our suppressed passions and desires and enjoy a short moment of life with fun and happiness. For that visiting parks, places of heritage, zoos, museums, or having a simple picnic can be those several ways to enjoy our vacations and pass times. For me visiting a water park is great bliss.

Recently I and my friends went to a nearby water park in Kolkata that is well known for its water slides, fun, games, and also the ambience of happiness. We readily agreed to visit the park and make the day memorable. Reaching there we bought ourselves tickets and took some costumes to enjoy the water slides. We felt both excited and terrified viewing the giant rollercoaster and the ups and downs of the ride. Yet gathering all our courage we went on.

We got into it consecutively and as soon as the ride started we felt the greatest enjoyment of our lives. Each and every ride was wonderful, especially the water slip and the pool rides. In fact, the park also accommodated some really cool cocktail outlets and a platform to enjoy the music going on. The entire environment was one of mirth. After losing time in the pandemic, the water park visit became a fruitful experience get-together, as many friends came together who would have otherwise been disconnected for a while.

Short Essay on a Visit to a Park in 400 Words

Taking any journey with people we love is always a rewarding experience. Whenever we find ourselves in a pensive mood, we feel desperate to attend a place of fun and excitement. Visiting a park, be it any local ground or an exclusive park with sophisticated rides and slips, strolling at parks is always a great exercise for the mind and body. It releases all our clogged emotions and makes the mind as free and wide as a huge green field. Visiting parks has often been a medicative remedy.

Many old people along with kids practice visiting to park in the morning and dusk. It enables them to maintain a healthy body and mind and feel carefree. Similarly for me visiting a park has also a great purpose. Recently I went to a famous water park in Kolkata, that is quite renowned for its water rides.

The park also has a separate underground base station for dance and music, where young people can spend their quality time. The entire park is well decorated with cartoons and animals, which in turn become viable for little kids. The park’s beauty attracts lots of visitors every summer. Also, the cocktail outlets lying adjacent to the water park add up to its beauty.

Recently, I got a wonderful opportunity to get together with my high school friends and spent a great time with them in that water park, I hardly could have denied such an option and readily agreed. It was also a moment of nostalgia since these friends live far away without that old bonding. We arrived as one of our friends has already got our tickets. We opted for the rollercoaster ride, although it rose great fear and excitement in us. It was as majestic as it was fearful.

Once into it, we realized how beautiful the company was. We were thrilled with joy and enjoyed all the water rides with extreme fun. The summer heat no longer felt tormenting us as the mirth filled the air. After completing the rides we changed our dresses and quickly visited the dance p[platform. We enjoyed each other’s company and forgot the passage of time. Happiness, like bubbles, brewed up till we returned back and parted our ways.

Visiting a water park that day was not any show of our sophisticated taste. But it was god’s grace that all our long-lost friends got reunited. Those lost memories were once again relived and cherished as if it was anew. I still can feel the happiness of that day and will never forget this wonderful memory.

21 Die in Roof Collapse at Moscow Park

By The Associated Press

  • Feb. 15, 2004

The snow-covered glass roof of a Moscow water park collapsed Saturday evening onto hundreds of people, killing at least 21, including three children, and injuring 106, the authorities said.

Initial reports said the roof at Transvaal Park collapsed after an explosion, but Moscow's mayor, Yuri Luzhkov, and other officials later said there was no evidence of a blast.

Investigators were considering various theories, including an accumulation of snow, the difference between the indoor and outdoor temperatures, or the seepage of water into the concrete supports.

Four bodies, including a child's, were recovered from the rubble early Sunday, the ITAR-Tass news agency reported, citing the Emergency Situations Ministry.

The roof collapsed about 7:30 p.m. as the water park in Moscow's southwestern suburbs was filled with people basking in its heat while temperatures outside hovered around 5 degrees. About 800 people were in the complex, an emergency official said. Rescue workers rushed bloodied, moaning people clad in bikinis and swim trunks on stretchers to waiting ambulances.

KYIV – Russian missiles slammed into Ukraine’s second-largest city in the country's northeast and killed at least seven civilians early Thursday, officials said, as Kyiv’s army labored to hold off an intense cross-border offensive by the Kremlin’s larger and better-equipped forces .

At least 20 people were wounded as S-300 missiles struck the city of Kharkiv , regional Gov. Oleh Syniehubov said. Explosions reverberated around the city of some 1 million people.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called the attack “extremely cruel” and expressed renewed frustration at not getting enough air defense systems from the country’s Western partners to prevent the barrages after more than two years on unrelenting war.

The city of Kharkiv, which is the capital of the region of the same name, is about 20 kilometers (12 miles) from the Russian border. Moscow’s troops have in recent weeks captured villages in the area as part of a broad push, and analysts say they may be trying to get within artillery range of the city.

The Russian push is shaping up to be Ukraine’s biggest test since Moscow's full-scale invasion in February 2022, with outnumbered and outgunned Ukrainian forces being pressed at several points along the about 1,000-kilometer (600-mile) front line that snakes from north to south in eastern Ukraine.

With Kyiv short of air defenses and waiting for more Western military support that only recently started trickling in, Ukraine's army has been pushed back in places while Russia has pounded its power grid and civilian areas. Kyiv endured further power outages on Thursday.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said the attacks underscored the country's “urgent” need for more U.S.-made Patriot systems to defend its skies.

Germany recently pledged one of the missile systems "but getting six more as soon as possible remains critical not only for Ukraine’s survival but for peace in Europe,” Kuleba wrote on the social media platform X.

The United States is expected to announce an additional $275 million in military aid for Ukraine on Friday, two U.S. officials told The Associated Press, speaking on condition of anonymity to provide details of the support before the public announcement.

But no air defense systems appear to be included in the package containing high mobility artillery rocket systems, or HIMARS, as well as essential 155 mm and 105 mm artillery rounds.

Zelenskyy said the main hotspots in recent fighting have been Kharkiv and the neighboring Donetsk region, where Ukraine’s defenders withdrew in February from the stronghold of Avdiivka . For the Kremlin, taking control of all of partially occupied Donetsk is a war priority.

At the same time, and in an apparent effort to stretch Ukraine’s depleted forces, Russian troops have made incursions in the northern Sumy region.

Nearly 1,500 people, including 200 children, have been evacuated from the towns of Bilopillia and Vorozhba there, according to regional Gov. Volodymyr Artiukh.

“The main focus (of the fighting) is on the entire border area,” Zelenskyy said in his nightly video address Wednesday.

In Liubotyn, a small town about 10 kilometers (6 miles) west of the city of Kharkiv, Russian missiles struck the town’s center, wounding eight civilians. In Derhachi, another nearby town, 13 people were wounded in another aerial strike, authorities said.

Russia’s defense ministry said Thursday that its forces had taken control of the Donetsk settlement of Andriivka , which Ukrainian forces had held since grueling combat in September that left the village in ruins.

Elsewhere in Donetsk, Russian forces claimed advances in the vicinity of Chasiv Yar, Konstantinovka and Rozdolivka.

It was not possible to independently verify the claims. Recent Russian advances have been incremental.

Ukraine has also trained its sights on regions across the border in Russia.

Russia’s defense ministry said Thursday that 35 Ukrainian rockets and three drones were shot down over the Belgorod region. Regional Gov. Vyacheslav Gladkov said one drone struck a house and exploded after being shot down, killing a woman.
