Students sitting at table holding puzzle pieces.

Building an effective workplace learning program means having all the right pieces in place.

As professional development and lifelong learning become increasingly important in our fast-changing world, there is a growing demand for qualified adult educators and performance and learning professionals. Understanding how adults learn and designing curricula that will engage them in meaningful learner experiences can sometimes feel like a puzzle with many different pieces at play.

Solving the puzzle means fitting together topic knowledge, experience, facilitation tools and strategies, curricula design and pedagogy, in an environment that encourages collaboration and engagement.

For those who work in the field of learning and development, the Certificate in Adult and Continuing Education (CACE) is the puzzle piece that brings it all together.

Testimonials

In particular, I've found the support I received from [CACE program staff] and the quality of instructors to be exceptional. Of all the educational institutions I have been at, Continuing Studies at UVic and CACE have been top notch.

The CACE program delivers a perfect balance between theory and practice. My instructors developed course plans firmly rooted in relevant theories of adult education, but also used learning activities that reflected actual practice. This gave me a leg-up in the workplace because I had learned both what to do, and how to do it.

Every CACE course was unique and completely transferable to my daily work. I will highly recommend CACE to anyone in the field.

I was really impressed… I felt well supported and clear in the expectations—great job!

Our department has relied on this program as a staple of skilling up learners, and we’re excited to continue to do so.
