It’s said, there’s no knowledge, no wisdom without your guru . There are books all around the world, we can easily have access to them, but the way and things that a teacher brings closer to our prism of perspective are way too far to compare with anything.

Teachers enlighten our minds, closely associated with us remind us of things we could do with our lives, books and potentials. We might read out a thing from the book and completely understand it but that doesn’t suffice the presence of a teacher. We all require someone to guide.

I have various teachers in school, different teachers for every subject. I like all of them, all of them have a different way of teaching, talking, checking our notebooks and dealing with the subject. There are times I’m scared of telling people that I don’t get a few concepts in Mathematics, but I’m glad that I can go up to my teacher of Maths. He’s a nice person and tells me Maths is a tricky subject, but if I get the trick It would become easier.

Out of all the teachers, I like my English teacher the most. Her name is Divya. She is a new teacher in our school. She says, she has taught in many other schools of the city as well. She has come across various work cultures, new students, new people, new school buildings etc. She admits that she loves teaching and doesn’t regret to choose this profession, this is the only thing that doesn’t bore her.

She comes up with new poems even out of our texts and explains them to us in great detail. She has got a great sense of humour. She plays games with us in the free period, she is very friendly and doesn’t let the teacher-student relationship barrier hurt the students.

She’s very humble, friendly and interactive and that’s why everyone likes her. She accepts all of us with our imperfections as well, with our grammatical mistakes and spelling errors. She’s very open to new opinions and recommendations.

She says that Education is the most golden tool of growth and encourages us to learn as much as we can, from all the possible sources possible.

I am explaining in this essay that I want to be a teacher when I grow up and educate the society. My parents and grandparents have taught me the value and importance of teaching and education in life and so I want to be a teacher.

Different people have different ambitions in life such as doctors, engineers, pilots, soldiers, etc. But I always wanted to be a teacher because I feel really blissful when I teach people around me. From my childhood, I teach whatever I learn in school. By teaching people around us, we can uplift the society. My father is a professor in a science college and my mother who was a teacher in school earlier now runs a nursery in our house. The two large rooms upstairs are occupied for nursery school. My mother feels immensely happy when she teaches such tiny tots who are not aware of anything. She holds their hands and teaches them "A, B, C, D" and also plays with them many games by taking them to our garden along with one more teacher. I see that my mother feels really happy when she is teaching such innocent children and so I also want to become a teacher like her. My journey to becoming a teacher I want to become a teacher in a reputed international school to teach the students new methods of learning. English is always my favorite subject and also I love to teach social studies. I have introduced new methods of teaching grammar and vocabulary. I always love reading books and I have read many novels pertaining to children's activities and hence I began liking the language. To become a teacher, I should first become a graduate in arts and then study education as a major subject. I love teaching in school than in college because the atmosphere in school is really pleasing. Being in a children's company, just gives me pleasure. I love playing with children and teaching them something that I have learnt in kindergarten. When I become a teacher, I will always teach children mannerism and values too so that they can become good citizens of the future. As a teacher, my duty is not only to teach English and Social studies, but also teach the students the way of life. My teacher always guides us and teaches us the value of mannerism in daily life. After becoming a teacher, I will start preparing notes on English and Social studies so that the students can easily learn the subjects. I will explain to them clearly every chapter so that they can learn it easily and also like the subject. The type of teacher I want to be My grandparents always told me that teaching in a sacred profession and a teacher can make the world a sacred place. I do not want to be a strict teacher who is always flogging or screaming at students, but a compassionate teacher who nurtures the students with knowledge. When I become a teacher, I will never use a scale to scare away students, but speak so effectively that a student understands the meaning of discipline. My teacher is really lovable and I want to become a teacher like her. In our country great teachers were born such as Gandhiji, Swami Vivekananda, Ramkrishna Paramahansa, etc who taught us the greatest lessons of life. So, I will teach my students the values that will help us to succeed.

I really appreciate the author who is having a clear aim to become a teacher. Surely this is the greatest and noblest profession and much suitable for females. By teacher we mean making others to be moulded and guide them to the right path of development. Parents may teach moral lessons to the children, and it is the teacher who teaches the intricacies of life and that too connected to the daily lessons in any subject. A good teacher is one who mingles with the children and teaches the subject in a most jovial method, so that children should not have boredom in the class and they must be longing for that particular teacher every day. I know normally children are afraid of teachers because they have the tendency of beating the children if they are not listening or performing in the class. However, now a days even beating a student is not allowed and even chiding is not considered the best quality of a teacher. All a child needs is the good and soothing words from the teacher and the child yearns for love and affection on par like his parents and thus those teachers who care and show affection to the children are the winners and they get cent percent results from the students. All these qualities of a teacher makes every one to choose this noble and great profession which has no comparison. In other professions you are doing work and earning money, but in a teacher's profession you are moulding a future child for the nation and thus stands the importance of a teacher.

A good teacher is a teacher who goes to the level of the student and use all his knowledge to make the student to understand the teachings. Education is one wealth which can't be stolen away. It will go on increasing as you go on spending. It is really a boon to have a good teacher who teaches the importance of life, the moral values and ethics. It is a profession of honor. My aim in life is to become a teacher. Teaching is a very noble profession and I am passionate to pursue it as a career. As a teacher, I would get an opportunity to be a part of another individual’s life and play a transformative role. The inspiration to become a teacher comes from the role that teachers have played in my life. There are various steps in the process of becoming a teacher that requires sincere effort. There are also several difficulties associated with the profession that I need to prepare to endure.

Inspiration to become a Teacher

The inspiration to become a teacher comes from my experiences with teachers. Teachers have a lasting impression in our future as they prepare us for the future. I want to play such a role in the life of another person and help shape their life. This has really inspired me to take teaching as a prospective career choice.

Duties of a Teacher

A teacher has several important roles to perform. The first and foremost is to teach the students the subject in a way that they are able to understand the concepts and internalize them. Apart from the subject, the teacher plays an important role of instilling good values in the students. This is very much relevant for teachers handling students in the primary and secondary levels. The teacher also monitors the behaviors of the students and disciplines them. Above all, a teacher needs to inspire the students to be a responsible and good person.

Difficulties associated with Teaching

There are several difficulties associated with teaching and it is important to understand them so that I can be well prepared to handle them. It can be very difficult to handle a class of 30 to 40 students by a single teacher. There may be students who may not comply and misbehave and this would cause considerable stress. Therefore, it is essential to develop communication skills and patience to be able to deal with such problems smoothly. Also long hours of teaching can affect throat and legs. It is important to stay healthy and maintain a balanced diet and routine so that I am physically fit.

Essay on My Ambition to Become a Teacher

For as long as I can remember I always liked teaching people something, being helpful to others. It started with helping some trying to tie their shoe laces, or making my younger siblings remember alphabets through a sing song rhythm. The sense of accomplishment I used to feel when the other person finally learnt whatever it was that I have been teaching them was indescribable. I used to feel as happy as the other person when those moments happened. It used to feel like I truly passed the torch to someone else.

Sometimes teaching is not easy as it sounds. I remember one time my sister could not solve the division questions which were assigned to her as homework, and she just could not understand the concept of division, that day it was first time when I shouted at her, and right after that the realization occurred to me that patience has to be my strongest suit if I want to able to teach others. The main reason I always wanted to teach was firstly I thought teaching comes naturally to me, and secondly I always had utmost respect for my teacher, they knew my strengths, and weakness more than I did.

My teacher whom I was very close to Mrs. Dawson was my first inspiration to become a teacher, and the first person to make me realize the power of teaching. I had a friend who was dyslexic, and most teachers used to run out of patient when they try to educate her but Mrs. Dawson was the only teacher who used to understand that she may need more time to understand the concept, and she even used to give her after school classes. I did not see that as a teacher teaching her a subject I saw that as motivator building someone’s confidence, giving her enough knowledge so that she make world understand her words clearly.

What started from teaching my siblings in their homework ended in me volunteering to teach underprivileged children, and making me realize that in this world there could be never enough educators there are people in this world who are always in need of learning.

विजय और सफलता पाने के लिये जीवन में शिक्षा को सबसे शक्तिशाली हथियार के रुप में माना जाता है। अपने देश के भविष्य और युवाओं के जीवन को बनाने और उसे आकार देने के लिये इस महत्वपूर्ण जिम्मेदारी और कार्य को करने के लिये शिक्षकों को दिया जाता है। शिक्षा की ओर महत्वपूर्ण जिम्मेदारी को शिक्षक निभाता है और बच्चों के वर्तमान और भविष्य को बनाता है। अपने पूरे जीवन भर ढेर सारे विद्यार्थियों को निर्देशित और शिक्षित करने के द्वारा अच्छे समाज का निर्माण करने में शिक्षक एक महान कार्य करता है।

जीवन में सही रास्ता चुनने के लिये शिक्षक को भगवान द्वारा धरती पर भेजा जाता है साथ ही साथ बुरी परिस्थिति में सही फैसला करने में उन्हें सक्षम बनाता है। शिक्षक बच्चों को उनके बचपन से ही नेतृत्व करते हैं और उन्हें मानसिक, सामाजिक और बौद्धिक रुप से काबिल बनाते हैं। शिक्षक किसी सामान्य व्यक्ति की तरह होते हैं जो हमारे बीच में से ही होते हैं लेकिन वो अपने विद्यार्थियों के लिये पढ़ाने का एक अलग कार्य चुनते हैं।

मेरी सबसे प्रिय शिक्षिका कला और विज्ञान की हैं जो अपने चेहरे पर एक बड़ी सी मुस्कान लिये रहती हैं और हमें खुश रखती हैं। अपने पढ़ाने की रणनीति में वो ढेर सारी रणनीति को जोड़ती हैं जो हम बहुत पसंद करते हैं। हम सभी को उनके पढ़ाने का तरीका बहुत पसंद है और हम सभी उनके विषय में अच्छा प्रतिशत लाते हैं। वो हमें जीवन की सच्चाई से रुबरु कराती हैं, अपने जीवन के अनुभव बताती हैं और मुश्किल परिस्थितियों से आसानी से निकलने का तरीका सिखाती हैं।

वो हमारी सबसे प्रिय शिक्षिका हैं तथा सभी बच्चों को एक बराबर तरीके से समझती हैं। वो हमारे बीच में किसी से अलग व्यवहार नहीं करती और हमेशा अच्छा करने के लिये प्रेरित करती हैं। हमलोग घर पर अपने अभिभावकों से उनकी अच्छाईयों का गुणगान करते हैं। वो जानती हैं कि हमलोग केवल उन्हीं के विषय में बहुत रुचि लेते हैं इसलिये, एक दिन उन्होंने कहा कि हम सभी को हर विषय में ध्यान देना चाहिये जिससे कोई भी हमें किसी भी क्षेत्र में हरा न सके। हमें हर पहलू में मजबूत बनना चाहिये इसी वजह से हमें हर विषय को एक बराबर पढ़ना चाहिये।

कक्षा में आने से पहले, एक अच्छा शिक्षक रोज के शिक्षा के अपने लक्ष्य को सुनिश्चित करता है। हर शिक्षक के पढ़ाने की अपनी अलग खासियत होती है। वो अपने ज्ञान, कौशल और व्यवहार में हर विषय के लिये बदल सकते हैं। वो अपना सबसे बेहतरीन प्रयास करते हैं और जीवन में हमको हमारे लक्ष्य तक पहुंचने में बहुत मदद करते हैं। सभी के जीवन में स्कूली जीवन सबसे अच्छा माना जाता है क्योंकि यही वो समय होता है जब लोग जीवन की मूल बातें और अलग-अलग विषय सीखते हैं। हम सभी अपना लक्ष्य स्कूल के समय में ही तय कर लेते हैं जो हमारे राष्ट्र के विकास का फैसला करता है। हरेक विद्यार्थी स्कूल में अपने दिमाग को खोल के रखता है और खेल, क्विज़, समूह चर्चा, बहस, निबंध लेखन, भाषण, पर्यटन, यात्राऔर अध्ययन यात्रा आदि जैसे अतिरिक्त गतिविधियों में भाग लेने के द्वारा अपने ज्ञान और कौशल को बढ़ाते हैं।

अच्छा शिक्षक अपने विद्यार्थियों का अच्छा दोस्त भी होता है जो उन्हें सही रास्ता प्राप्त करने में मदद करता है। स्कूल और कॉलेजों में बहुत सारे शिक्षक होते हैं लेकिन कोई एक शिक्षक सभी विद्यार्थियों का पसंदीदा होता है। अनोखे शिक्षण और सिखाने की प्रक्रिया के अपने सामूहिक भूमिका के माध्यम से शिक्षक हमारे शिक्षा का लक्ष्य तय करते हैं। हमारे शिक्षकगण हमको हमेशा सौहार्द में कार्य करने के लिये प्रेरित करते हैं। हमारे शिक्षक हमें समझते हैं और हमारी समयस्याओं को व्यक्तिगत और पेशेवर दोनों तरीके से सुलझाते हैं। वो हमें जीवन के प्रति सकारात्मक नजरिया अपनाना सिखाते हैं।

एक अच्छा शिक्षक वो होता है जो अपने पूरे जीवन में विद्यार्थियों को केवल देता है लेकिन कुछ भी लेता नहीं है बल्कि वो अपने विद्यार्थियों की सफलता से बहुत खुश हो जाता है। एक बेहतरीन शिक्षक वो होता है जो अपने राष्ट्र के लिये एक बेहतरीन भविष्य की पीढ़ी उपलब्ध कराता है। केवल उचित शिक्षा से ही सामाजिक समस्याएँ, भ्रष्टाचार आदि को खत्म किया जा सकता है जो अंतत: एक राष्ट्र को वास्तविक विकास और वृद्धि की ओर ले जायेगा।

शिक्षक की उपयोगिता

किसी भी समाज कोविकसित करने के लिये, यह महत्वपूर्ण है कि वहां के लोग शिक्षित हों और एक शिक्षक ही ऐसे समाज का निर्माण कर सकता है। अर्थात शिक्षक को हम किसी देश के प्रगति का सूचकमान सकते हैं। वे बच्चों को शिक्षित करते हैं और अपनी ज्ञान की आभा से उन्हे चमकना सिखाते हैं, जिससे बच्चे क्षितिज से निकलते नन्ही किरणों से सफर तय कर के, नभ तल पर आकर सूर्य की तरह चमकना सीख जाते हैं और देश का नाम रौशन करते हैं।

मनुष्य चाहे जितना भी बड़ा क्यों न हो जाए, उसे कभी न कभी एक मार्गदर्शक कि आवश्यकता जरूर पड़ती है और आपका मार्गदर्शक ही आपका शिक्षक व गुरु है। गुरु की सीमा केवल स्कूली पुस्तकों मात्र तक सीमित नहीं होती, जरूरत पड़ने पर वे सच्चे दोस्त भी बन जाते हैं और आपकी हर प्रकार से सहायता करते हैं।

शिक्षक की आवश्यकता सर्वत्रहोती है, जिसे नकारा नहीं जा सकता। उनकी शिक्षा कि झलक हमेंउनके क्षात्रों मे मिल जाती है। एक अच्छा गुरु सदैव अपने शिष्य को आगे बढ़ने के लिये प्रेरित करता है। हमें सदैव अपने गुरु का आदर करना चाहिये और सच्चे मायनों मे गुरु का आदर तभी हो सकता है, जब हम उनके बताए गए मार्ग पर चलें। एक शिक्षक होना बहुत कठिन कार्य है और नमन है सभी शिक्षकों को जिसने मेरे जीवन में अहम भुमिका निभाई। आज कल के दौर में फोन और सोशल मीडियाकी मदद से लोग आपस में जुड़े रहते हैं और अपने शिक्षकों से जुड़े रहने के यह सबसे अच्छे माध्यम हैं। कुछ लोग जो शिक्षक का पेशा चुनते हैं वाकई में काबिले तारीफ होते हैं। जो अपने कंधो पर देश को भविष्य संवारने का दायित्व लेकर चलते हैं। नमन है ऐसे हौसलों को नमन है सभी शिक्षकों को।

In March 1912, the famous violinist and composer Eugène Ysaÿe visited the home of his fellow musician Raoul Pugno in Paris. At the piano, Pugno played and sang through “La Ville Morte,” an opera he was writing with Nadia Boulanger , a mentee-turned-collaborator 35 years his junior.

“Of this very private performance,” Ysaÿe wrote to Boulanger later that month, “I keep the most profound and happiest impression.” The opera, he told her, was “so beautiful, so sound, so poignant.”

“La Ville Morte” was the most ambitious project of Boulanger’s young composing career. And once it took shape, with a piano-vocal score completed that summer, she wrote under the final measures, “Alleluia!!!!”

But one thing after another kept “La Ville Morte” from reaching the stage. In 1914, Pugno, an essential partner in selling it to the public, died. World War I broke out, delaying the planned premiere, not for the last time. Several years later, Boulanger’s dear sister, the composer Lili Boulanger, died, too, and Nadia virtually stopped writing or promoting her own music.

Boulanger would instead go on to become one of the greatest music teachers in history — a formative figure for titans of the 20th century, like Aaron Copland and Elliott Carter, and other legends, including Quincy Jones, Burt Bacharach and Philip Glass.

Hardly discussed as a composer, Boulanger died, in 1979, with “La Ville Morte” as more of a footnote than the true feat it was. Its full score was lost, and it has never been performed in the United States; it wasn’t even staged until this century. On Friday, though, it is having its American premiere at NYU Skirball in a production by Catapult Opera , featuring a new orchestration that reveals it, the conductor Neal Goren said, as “wildly rich and gorgeous.”

“I had no idea that Boulanger had composed an opera before this,” said Goren, Catapult’s founder and artistic director, who was presented with “La Ville Morte” while searching for an opera by a woman for the company. “I was totally taken with it. It’s like a cross between ‘Parsifal’ and ‘Pelléas.’”

Boulanger and Pugno composed to a libretto by the celebrated Italian writer Gabriele d’Annunzio, based on his play “La Città Morta,” which had arrived in Paris under a French translation, “La Ville Morte,” starring Sarah Bernhardt, in 1898.

Pugno had been a major supporter of Boulanger’s career after she finished studying at the Paris Conservatory in 1904, not yet 18 years old. They had met while she was a student, and their relationship was one of both friendship and romance.

It’s not known when they started thinking about “La Ville Morte,” but scholars writing in the 2020 collection “ Nadia Boulanger and Her World ” — including Alexandra Laederich and the co-authors Jeanice Brooks and Kimberly Francis — have found mentions of the composition in Boulanger’s long-unavailable correspondence and daybooks. One entry, on May 22, 1910, says, “We wrote the first notes of ‘La Ville Morte.’”

Details about the opera’s genesis are hazy, particularly when it comes to the division of labor. That speaks to how truly collaborative it was — but also to how less seriously the music world took Boulanger than Pugno at this early stage of her career. She was building a respectable catalog, of both chamber and orchestral works, yet relied on Pugno’s reputation to generate interest in “La Ville Morte.”

Laederich describes the first manuscript of the piano-vocal score as “a precious source in which one can clearly distinguish two types of handwriting, always overlapping and complementary.” But Pugno didn’t give the public that impression. In her biography “ Nadia Boulanger: A Life in Music ,” Léonie Rosenstiel recounts a 1912 interview that he gave to Ward Stephens in The Musician, in which, when asked what he was up to, he replied, “This summer I am unusually busy writing an opera.” Nowhere does he mention Boulanger.

She was also occasionally unhappy with both d’Annunzio and Pugno, who didn’t seem to match her ambition and eagerness to complete “La Ville Morte.” One ambivalent entry into her daybook that Brooks and Francis found says:

Went to Pugno’s — a little sadness and explanations — confession of the complex emotion made up of my pride as a woman, as a lover, and my sorrow as an artist — but this gratefully, tenderly and not decisively enough for things to get worse, then those rare and unforgettable hours — of sincerity, of emotion, of giving — what immense affection unites us — it is unbelievable.

Together, Pugno and Boulanger worked to get “La Ville Morte” onstage. They performed the score together, both singing at a piano. There was talk of premiering it at the Paris Opera, but it landed at the Opéra Comique, whose leader, Pierre-Barthélemy Gheusi, penciled it in for 1914. At the beginning of that year, Pugno fell ill and died in Moscow during a concert tour with Boulanger. When the war broke out, Gheusi canceled all productions and went on to serve in the French army.

After the war, he was removed from the company. D’Annunzio was no longer invested in “La Ville Morte,” and none of the work’s other supporters were still alive. Although Boulanger would later speak unfavorably about her compositions, her actions regarding the opera spoke otherwise. She befriended a young Leonard Bernstein, and gave him a copy of the score. (Whether it was the piano-vocal or full version isn’t known.) He expressed interest in performing it, but didn’t follow through.

G. Schirmer published the piano-vocal score, which is how Goren first encountered the opera. He was asked to commission an orchestration; Joseph Stillwell and Stephan Cwik made one for 11 players, with the help of David Conte, a former Boulanger protégé.

Beyond the music, though, the opera needed work, said Robin Guarino, who is directing the Catapult production (which first ran at the Greek National Opera earlier this year). “There were redundancies in the text and some basic editing that had to be done,” she said. “Boulanger would have done this herself had there been a world premiere.”

Once the opera came together, Guarino found herself amazed by what she was seeing and hearing, a mysterious and dramatic tale that unfurls with a score of lush poetry and, she said, “feminism sizzling under the surface.”

Listeners will hear music redolent of Debussy and Wagner, Goren said, but also of Rachmaninoff and Stravinsky. There is even some proto-jazz. “You can hear everything from the period reflected in this score,” he added. “There are basically two types of composers: synthesizers and innovators. I’m hoping that people will see her as a serious, valid composer, because she was the supreme synthesizer.”
