What is an Essay?

We all know that a pen is always mightier than a sword but the pen is not always effective if the writer is not able to frame his thoughts in a broad aspect. Though we all feel that writing inspiring words that help us grow the mindset and knowledge about people's inspiration alone cannot be enough. We need to focus on the facts, grammar and a lot more things while writing and writing essays. And now we’ll be discussing such tips and tricks for writing an effective essay.

Steps for Writing an Inspiring Essay

Have a clear understanding of the topic: Read the topic and understand what is expected from you over those words. Know exactly what is expected from you over the title and then dissect the idea into parts to think of prompt ideas for writing.

Create a plan: Start brainstorming your ideas, organize your thoughts this will help you get a good overview of the topic and help you write an effective essay easily. A good idea is to make a hierarchical plan about the paragraphs you plan to write to support your ideas and give details about the same.

Research: Here comes the most enthralling part of writing an essay. You need to at least go through 8-7 well-cited resources to get a brief idea of how to write your content. Use more idioms. phrases and quotes to make your essay more informative and quality worthy. While doing this make sure you never use someone else’s ideas as it is in your essay. SAY NO TO PLAGIARISM.

Prepare a draft: Tadaaa! Now comes the part where we have to work our minds off and write down the brainstorming ideas into a well-formed informative essay. Usually, the first draft is considered as crap but if we work and organize our thoughts well using good informative words then our crappy ideas might turn out to be a gold gem.

Make a good thesis: Now comes the important part of writing our strong ideas into the essay.

Respond to the final prompts: The last moment kinks are always welcomed. If you’ve any last moment thoughts, add them up in the draft and get ready for the final round of writing your essay.

Proofreading: This is an essential part. You must always read your essay at least twice to check if the sentences are well-formed and there are no grammatical errors in them.

I am a great fan of basketball. I used to practice this game since I was in class 5th. My parents and my coach encouraged me a lot to perform well in my favourite sport. I believe that it is a game that combines strategy, athleticism, and teamwork . The best thing I like about this sport is the dribbling of the basketball. I love playing basketball with my friends at the society’s basketball court.

We used to gather every evening at 6:30 and play a match regularly to maintain the stamina and the pace of precision shooting. The winning situation in this game is completely dependent on teamwork, the result could be truly magical. Basketball is the sport that keeps me captivated with its adrenaline-pumping excitement.

My favourite sport is everyone’s favourite. Yes, Cricket it is. Cricket is often known as the ‘ Gentleman’s Game .’ Almost every Indian loves cricket for us this sport is not just a game it is an emotion. The entire Nation keeps a keen eye on the World Cup match when our country is performing.

My idol is Hon’ble Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni. In my childhood, I tried to copy their style and always wished to be a good cricket player. As it is rightly said ‘Practice makes a Man Perfect.’ I also believed in it and practised with my school cricket team to become a good cricket player. My endurance and dedication helped me to secure the position of opening batsman for the school cricket team and we are presenting our school at the district-level cricket competition.

The main reason cricket resonates with me is its rich history and traditions. It’s a sport that has been played for centuries, and it carries with it a sense of timelessness. The iconic venues, the legends of the game, and the celebrated rivalries all contribute to the sport’s allure. Whether it’s the Ashes battles between England and Australia or the fervent India-Pakistan contests, cricket has a way of gripping the hearts and minds of fans around the world.

Cricket not only teaches sportsmanship but also helps us learn about teamwork, patience, dedication, etc. My dream is to build a successful cricket career. To accomplish my goals I am planning to take admission in the cricket academy and learn from experts.

In conclusion, cricket is more than a sport to me; it’s a culture, a passion, and a source of endless joy in my life. Its rich heritage, technical intricacies, and life lessons will forever held close to my heart.

It is one of the most admired sports among children and adults. Badminton is my favourite sport because it requires speed, practice, precision, stamina, and accuracy all at the same time.

A player needs to be very attentive while playing badminton. When each stroke of the shuttle makes a ‘whoosh’ sound, it infuses a feeling of competitiveness and enthusiasm to perform extraordinarily against the opponent.

I am a huge admirer of Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu. Watching them perform makes me feel so proud and more inclined towards the sport. It’s my dream to play a badminton tournament at the National level and win for the country.

Tennis Is My Favorite Sport

People have always said that sports are so great for anyone who struggle with drama filled lives, anxiety, depression and many more problems like this. They say this because sports occupies a portion of your time and and provide you with an escape you can’t find anywhere else. When you’re playing a sport, you’re so focused on what you need to do in the heat of competition that nothing else in the world seems important. Because of that experience, I couldn’t agree more with those people. Tennis is my favorite sport. I started playing in the seventh grade. When I’m playing, the experience is what I love. I love everything about it… the fresh smell of new tennis balls when you pop open the can, the hype before matches that get’s the team …show more content…

Everyone has good days and bad, life is full of plot twists and the unknown is always there to hit you; however, when I’m playing I don’t worry about any of this. On that court, I’m only worried about me, my partner, and how we’re going to fight for the win. Game day - Westfield The team dressed up in our best dresses to school on this day. None of us knew much about Westfield, so my friends and I did some research. We learned more about the school than we did whatever was being taught in that class. Westfield, a 3A school is located close to Indianapolis. Our thoughts were ‘they’re a big city school, they’re most likely very good’ in other words, we knew we were already done for. It was after school and we all made our way to the locker room to get ready, and prepare; actually meaning mess around. The atmosphere was like always, fun and vibrant, you could instantly feel the energy as soon as you walk in. We changed into our uniforms, put on our tennis shoes and talked about this unfamiliar school. None of us were too worried because of the fact that we were county champs, conference champs, sectional champs and overall a good, hard team to beat. After a while our bus had arrived and we all exited the locker room and some of us stopped to fill up our waters. Excited and jumpy we all made our way in and loud chatter soon filled the bus. If you were to get on the busses with us to away games, you’d think we’re all crazy; we’re out of out seats, standing up

An Outline of Performance Anxiety in Female Athletes

Management of performance and competitive anxiety can be challenging. The first strategy would be to consult with a clinical psychologist, who will often suggest a behavioural approach. These approaches have been found to be the optimal coping strategy for sport-related anxiety, specifically Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) (Patel et

Persuasive Essay On Sports Injury

For some athletes, sports can be a good way to cope with stress. When they hit the court or the field, they feel as if all of their worries from that day vanish. But for others, sports can be how a person identifies his or herself and where they derive most of their self-esteem. So that moment when you realize something in your body or your mind isn’t right, you push through it and tell yourself it will go away. But sometimes the pain gets worse. So you have two

The Issue Of Social Class

There are a great variety of sports all throughout the world, but the most popular worldwide are: Futbol, Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, Track, Bicycle, etc… One of the advantages of playing sports is that you get healthier as you play and have fun. Also you get more social skills, and so it could help fight depression or anxiety. Sports use more math than you may think. For example all the averages in Basketball, or

Mental Health Issues In Elite Athletes

The beneficial aspects of participating in sports are often noted but there is another side that cannot be ignored. Mental health issues among elite athletes is a topic of increasing interest and public awareness. Sport-related factors such as injury, overtraining and failure in competition are showing to influence the prevalence of mental health issues in elite athletes. Whatever the cause or reason mental health issues and concerns cannot be ignored. High performance athletes need to be provided with mental health support, despite the negative stigma of mental health issues and the concept of mental toughness in athletes. In the past, there has been a “widespread assumption has existed within the sporting world that only emotionally and mentally strong athletes are able to complete at the highest levels. Psychological disorders, such as depression, were thought to infrequently occur among elite athletes” (Hammond et al, 2013, pg.276) There may actually be an increased risk for mental health issues in athletes as they are less likely to; seek treatment, reveal symptoms, are more accustomed to work through pain, fear of showing signs of weakness and may not have developed healthy coping mechanisms to deal with failure. In addition, many athletes have not developed their identity outside of being an athlete and therefore if this role is threatened by injury or illness, they may experience a significant sense of loss. Treating a psychological ailment in athletes should be given as much importance as treating a physical

Personal Narrative: Pete Hoyer Of North Carolina State University

The first thing on the agenda of my visit was my official tour of the school. As I walked around the main campus I began to picture myself as part of the pack. With each new building I saw, the more I fell in love with the school. Everything from the glowing red-bricked education buildings to the exquisite student building, Talley Student Union. After I had walked the magnificent campus, it was time for my meeting with the head coach, Bryan Bunn. I had never met Coach Bunn or even talked to him, only email. Personal Narrative: Southeast Idaho Youth Football Team

It was a brisk fall evening, and my seventh grade youth football team and I had traveled to Aberdeen to play the undefeated Chiefs. We had worked harder and longer than we ever had that week to show that we were a threat in the league and ascend from our third place ranking. We knew it was not going to be easy; the Chiefs’ team had the fastest running back in our division, and they had scored more total points per game than any other team in the Southeast Idaho Youth Football League. The field was neater and greener than we had expected in this town. It was a great day for football, and I was with all of my best friends. I knew going in that it was going to be a learning experience whether we won or lost that night because the Chiefs were

Athletic Training History

I have always loved sports ever since I was a little kid. Some of my earliest memories are of playing soccer with my friends on a wet, cold spring day or hitting a ball off of a tee and feeling like it went a mile, when in reality it only went about fifty feet. Even to this day I still can never get enough of sports. I get about four weeks off out of the entire year where I’m not technically in a sport, but I’m still always practicing and trying to get better because that’s the only way I know. I love everything about sports: the friendships, the competition, the passion, the atmosphere, the unity. Sports are one of my true loves and they consume my life. It is this strong desire that I have for sports that has driven me to want to pursue a

Personal Narrative: Johnston City High School

It was 7:00 in the morning when we arrived at the Johnston City High School. Once everyone arrived at the high school, we got on the bus and headed off to Benton. As we stepped foot on the bus, we all sat there quietly, nervous about the results of this game. This was the game that determined whether or not we went on to state. Coach Simon and Coach Shane gave us one of their what we like to call "before the game warm-up talks". We were all nervous of course, but we were all determined to win this game. We had been looking forwards to winning regionals and going to state the whole season and that day was the day that we gave us the opportunity to go to state. After the thirty minute bus ride, we finally got to Benton and once we got there,

Are Youth Sports Too Professful?

Dear coaches of the Amery School District: Each side believes that competitive sports are bad or good. This issue is important because it focuses on mood which can lead to stress or depression. A study says that sports can lead to improvements on focusing but can also lead to stress. It is clear that competitive sports are bad because one, multiple deaths have been related to children playing sports and two, sports have led to stress in adolescents.

Persuasive Speech On Concussions In Sports

Playing sports is a great way to help with mental health. When students don't have the option of playing sports it can lead to, “...too much screen time and not enough hands on activity,” (“Play is Important”). Many studies have recently exhibited citing the risk of excessive screen time for developing brains, everything from socialization, concentration, speech and writing skills can all be studied. The US Department of Health and Human Services estimates that children in America spend a gargantuan amount of time looking at electronic devices, approximately seven hours a day. If sports were no longer available for children to participate in, the average amount of hours spent on electronics would be increased. Other statistics reveal that kids the age of two regularly play iPad games and have toys in their bedroom that involve touch screens. Getting out the house is a good way to stay healthy and “...Exercise can help reduce depression and anxiety,”(Carson Barrett, “How Does Playing Sports Affect Your Health?”). For many kids in middle school, the need to have perfect grades causes many of them to have anxiety. Many families have younger children that have to deal with deaths and having to deal with a loss can be a main trigger to depression. If those kids were taken away from the opportunity to play sports, the anxiety and depression would most likely increase. Sleep is a big factor of mental health; and being active by participating in sports can increase the amount of sleep children get. Sports “...do this by helping you fall asleep faster and deepening your sleep,”(Kathryn Watson, “The Top 7 Mental Benefits of Sports”). When children come home from a sport, most of the time, their exhausted which would lead to a more reparative sleep, allowing the brain and muscles to rehabilitate more thoroughly. Getting a good amount of sleep can improve your mental outlook and mood the

High Performance Athletes Mental Health

For High Performance athletes, there can be a lot riding on their results and performance in competition. If athletes develop an over-reliance on sporting success as a source of self-worth and identity, it can lead to serious emotional issues if things do not go as desired. Athletes often identify their self-worth with their ability to perform, and performance failure has been significantly associated with depression (Taylor, 2015 pg.11; Troijan, 2016, pg. 137) Athletes face many struggles and when something goes wrong it can leave them not knowing where to turn for help. They can be left with they feelings that they are nothing, undeserving, and alone. This may also exacerbate their feelings of seclusion, depression, or grief. Most athletes

Essay On High School Sports

The ability for high school sports to give athletes a break from the classroom allows them to clear their minds. Students have the chance to forget about the things that may be bothering them as well as allowing them to have fun for a bit. Research shows that the movement of the brain’s physiology has an effect on the way that a person does things throughout their life. In fact, a study shows that people who have been physically activity or have participated in sports when they were younger are happier because they have been releasing endorphins which releases stress. Stress is the leading cause of depression in the United States and by exercising, the rate of stress in which a person has can be lowered. High school sports does not just benefit a person's mental health but also a person's physical health.

Personal Narrative: My Final Hockey Victory Essays

We passed all the security guards who all wished us good luck in our game. We finally arrived to our locker room where we all picked out a spot according to our position that we played. Our coach told us that all the defense and goalies should sit together and all the forwards should sit close. The second the team opened up their bags the raunchy stench of body odor filled the room. I set the stereo up and started playing the Rocky song that we would always listen to before every big game. The players were all dressed in our uniforms when the coach told us that he had a surprise for us. He yanked a box form the hallway and pulled out our new jerseys that he ordered for the great accomplishment. This reward reminded everyone of our unbelievable journey to the state game. Coach handed the jerseys out telling us the pride we should feel as we slip the sweater on. We had twenty minutes until the challenge when our coach ordered everyone to be quiet for his pre-game speech. He started out telling us how proud he was to be our coach and whatever happens in the next two hours he commends us. The rest of the speech was the strategy he wanted to use if we encounter any problems. In his final words the horn rang telling both the teams that it was time to take the ice.

Cricket is usually a two-team sport with each team having 11 players. The game is divided into two innings in which one team bats and the other team bowls. The aim of the game is for the batting team to score as many runs as possible while the bowling team tries to prevent them from doing so. The team which scores the highest wins the game. A number of rules and regulations govern the game, such as the size of the field, the length of the game, and the type of bowling.

Types of Cricket

Cricket can be divided into three main types: Test cricket, One Day International (ODI) cricket, and Twenty20 (T20) cricket. Test matches are the longest and most traditional form of the game, and usually last for five days. These matches are usually considered more serious and require more skill from the players. ODI cricket, on the other hand, is the shorter version of the game, and usually lasts for around eight hours over 150-300 overs. During this version, each team gets to bat for 50 overs. Finally, T20 is the shortest and most exciting form of the game, typically lasting only three to four hours.

Cricket provides a wide range of physical and mental benefits. Physically, it helps with balance, agility, and hand-eye coordination, as well as improving cardiovascular fitness. Mentally, it enhances decision-making skills and encourages teamwork. It also promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect for the rules of the game.

Cricket is an amazing game that has been a part of my life for many years. Whether it is just playing with family and friends, or watching a match on television, cricket is an enjoyable and rewarding game. It is a sport that has the potential to bring people from different cultural and religious backgrounds. Cricket is my most favourite sport and I will continue to love it forever.

I hope the above-provided essay on My Favourite Sport will be helpful for everyone to know about the cricket very well and help you gaining much more information about the game.

You should say:

  • How you first knew about it
  • How often you practise it
  • And explain why it is your favourite sport.

Sample 1 – Football

I would like to talk about my favorite sport, which is football, the king of sport to everyone in Vietnam.

I first knew about it when I was 15 years old. It was my classmates who invited me to join his football club with other friends in his neighborhood. I had a great time with them, for sure.

I used to play it after school with my friends as it was the only free time I have for the whole day. Nowadays I am pretty busy with my work and study so I had to give up the hobby. But sometimes if I have a long holiday I will arrange a small football match with my old classmates. Those football matches often end with us being in a small restaurant where we drink and chit-chat.

I love this sport for several reasons: First, it helps to improve my physical and mental health. Second, I can also learn teamwork skills which are crucial in all aspects of life. Last but not least, since I started playing this sport, I have made a lot of friends who are now my best playmates.

Sample 2 – Swimming

I would like to talk about my favorite sport, which is swimming.

I first knew about it when I was 10 years old. My mom thought that I should learn to swim at an early age so that I wouldn’t drown in the water. Frankly speaking, I kinda enjoyed the swimming class as I guess I was born with the Water element.

Nowadays, I still keep the habit of going to the swimming pool every Saturday afternoon with my boyfriend who is also a fan of this water sport. Only when I am snowed under a heavy workload do I ever skip a day.

I love this sport for several reasons: First, it helps to keep my body in perfect shape. Second, swimming is a great sport for me to improve my height. Last but not least, since I started this sport, I barely feel stressed or overworked. All in all, I suggest this sport is a must-have pastime for everyone.

Sample 3 – Badminton

I would like to talk about my favorite sport, which is badminton, a popular sport in Vietnam.

I first knew about it when I was 15 years old. My father thought that I was a bit overweight so he forced me to join a badminton training course with his friends. I have to admit that even though I was a bit upset for being made to do something against my will, I soon got into it after only a week.

Unfortunately, these days, as a white-collar, I mostly spend my day in the office and only reach home by 7 p.m. So, I do not have any time for badminton anymore.

Anyway, I still love this sport for several reasons: First, it helped me to lose some weight which led to better health. Second, when I practiced the sport in the sports center near my house, I made plenty of cool friends who supported me a lot in life. Last but not least, after knowing this sport, I would say for sure I could overcome my timidity of being a big size person and make an effort to change my look. All in all, I suggest this sport is a must-have pastime for everyone.

Sample 4 – Taekwondo

I would like to talk about my favorite sport, which is Taekwondo, a kind of martial art from Korea.

I first knew about it when I was 15 years old. My parents thought that I should learn something to defend myself from bullies at school. Also, I was a bit overweight so this was a perfect sport for me. I soon got into it quickly and it has become my most favorite pastime activity even until now when I am 23 years old.

Oftentimes, as I have no classes on Sunday afternoon, I will spend my free time enjoying this sport with other martial artists in a sports club near my house. They are quite helpful in showing me some tactics and effective moves. Sometimes we hold some small matches for fun and have a feast in a small restaurant afterward.

There are several reasons why I am truly in love with Taekwondo. First, thanks to this sport, I could lose some weight and at the moment I have a kind of a fit body. Second, since I started this sport I have hardly catch any common health issues like fever, flu, or cold. Third, my social circle has been getting wider and wider as I have met so many cool mates who come from all walks of life. All in all, I suggest this sport is a must-have pastime to try.

Sample 5 – Running

I would like to talk about my favorite sport, which is running, an easy and free sport to try for everyone.

I only started it a few months ago thanks to my colleagues who are professional runners. I was convinced by how well-shaped they look and how passionate they are about this sport. Therefore, I decided to follow them and try running in the park near my office. Honestly speaking, I fell in love with it pretty quickly after a week though at the beginning I was almost exhausted.

I always reach the park at 5 p.m after work then run around it until 6 p.m. On Saturday when I only work in the morning, I spend more than two hours running in the afternoon and I have to admit that Saturday is the most productive day for me to run. Sometimes when my colleagues can join me in the park, we have a great journey together and share fun office stories during our breaks.

There are several reasons why I am fond of this sport. First, it is a rather cheap and easy sport to try. All we need is a pair of running shoes and a bottle of water. Second, this is a sport that everyone of all age brackets and genders can enjoy, which also brought me some new friends while doing it in the park. They are quite nice and friendly people. Third, since I started this sport I hardly catch any common health issues like fever, flu, or cold. What’s more? I can perform better at work and show higher productivity only after a month of training. I mean I can work for longer hours without feeling tired. All in all, I recommend that everyone try this sport.

my favourite sport essay tennis

My Favorite Sport (or Game) Tennis

People have always said that sports are so great for anyone who struggle with drama-filled lives, anxiety, depression, and many more problems like this. They say this because sports occupy a portion of our time and provide us with an escape we can’t find anywhere else. When we are playing a sport, we are so focused on what we need to do in the heat of competition that nothing else in the world seems important.

Tennis is a very interesting sport, and it is my favorite sport. This is because playing tennis is really cool, and it needs many high-toned skills. Most of all, it only requires two persons to play. Playing tennis is really elegant. The angle of serving balls is high-toned art. Playing tennis is not as easy as playing badminton. The angle control is a very important skill in playing tennis. Any attenuate change will affect the trail of the ball.

Tennis is a sport played between two players (singles) or between two teams of two players each (doubles). Each player uses a strung racquet to strike a hollow rubber ball covered with felt over a net into the opponent’s court. The modern game of tennis was born in the United Kingdom in the late 19th century. Then it was called “lawn tennis”. Tennis soon became popular among the upper- class English-speaking population.

Then it began to be played around the world. Tennis is an Olympic sport and is played at all levels of society at all ages. The sport can be played by anyone who can hold a racket, including people in wheelchairs.

Other than the fact that the tiebreaker was adopted in the 1970s, the rules of tennis have not changed much since the 1890s. A recent addition to professional tennis has been the adoption of “instant replay” technology coupled with a point challenge system. This allows a player to challenge the official call of a point.

Tennis is a major spectator sport, especially the four Grand Slam tournaments: the Australian Open, the French Open, Wimbledon and the US Open. These tournaments are considered to be the most prestigious tennis tournaments in the world. They are held annually.

Apart from the Olympic Games, Davis Cup, Fed Cup, and Hopman Cup they are the only tournaments regulated by the International Tennis Federation (ITF). These events possess historical significance and also carry huge prize funds. Grand Slam men’s tournaments have best-of-five-set matches throughout.

At present, the Grand Slam tournaments are the only tour events that have mixed doubles contests. Grand Slam tournaments are held in conjunction with wheelchair tennis tournaments. The exception is Wimbledon, (where the grass surface doesn’t allow this) and junior tennis competitions.

Grand Slam tournaments are often seen as the culmination of a particular season, such as the US Open Series. Wimbledon players are required to wear predominantly white. This rule has made certain players like Andre Agassi avoid the tournament.

Rod Laver, Bjorn Borg, and Pete Sampras are among the greatest tennis players in the history of the sport. Among the contemporaries, Roger Federer is considered to have the potential to surpass the achievements of these illustrious predecessors. Many even feel that Federer could become the greatest player in the history of the game.

Tennis is a popular sport. It’s not like volleyball or baseball which needs to scratch a team. When I wanted to play it, I just needed to find one person to play with me. It’s a very convenient sport. I could play it only with my uncle/aunty who used to play tennis when he/she was a teenager. It is the last reason why tennis became my favorite sport. In sum, tennis is not only easy to play but also an elegant sport that requires skills. It’s the best way for me to relax. If I had time I would practice it constantly!

Sexism in sports.

Sports games are also a variety themselves; they range from baseball to football to soccer. Anyone who plays sports enjoys these types of games because of the competitiveness and the enjoyment of playing it with friends. In an article by S.A. Perkins from the student review, he states, “I like playing the game of FIFA. Not exactly on my own- playing a career is alright, for a time, but it gets boring very fast- but with my friends it is extremely fun.” Playing this type of game with friends is very enjoyable, which is way many people play these games. Later in his article, Perkins speaks about how he enjoys sports games because he feels a sense of accomplishment and pride in doing well at sports games, while it is the opposite for him in real-life. Many people may play sports games because they are not amazing at them in real-life but they still enjoy this sports. Whether the reasons for these games, the industry sees the potential in them. Sports games do target a certain group of people, but even though this is so, the industry does not focus its attention solely on these…

Why Is Tennis Important To Me

Tennis teaches me lessons that I can apply to all aspects of life, including medicine. Plus, it is a great way to relieve stress. It consistently reminds me of the importance of proper technique. Setting my feet appropriately, knowing when to use the correct grip, keeping my eyes on the ball during each stroke are some of the things taken into account during each play. I practice regularly to get better, which enables me to participate in singles and doubles with other players on the tennis courts. With each match my reflexes improve, I become more patient in finding the right shot, and most importantly, I learn to have fun and stay dedicated to what I love even through tough stretches.…

Individual Sports Vs Team Sports Essay

Some people prefer to play team sports, while others prefer to play individual sports. Sport is the best way to improve your health and sociality. When we play team sports, like basketball or football, we realize that we are not going to win the match if we play as a selfish player in our team, because everything will be easier if we work hard together. When we play solo sports, like tennis, swimming competition, boxing, we realize that solo is solo. We cannot depend on anyone else but our self. So if we want to win the game, do not ever give up and keep telling our self that we will win the match no matter what. Sport is about attitude and fair play, because whether lose or win, it does not matter. In my opinion, I prefer to play team sports. Because I always enjoying anything where I can feel being a part of something. I learn about respect to my team whoever they are inside either outside the field. It is always feels good…

Stereotypes Of Tennis Essay

All my life I’ve played tennis. I played tennis in kindergarten, middle school, high school, and still playing it now. I don’t see these stereotypical characteristics as negative but perceive them differently and as a challenge.…

Soccer: My Passion

The cliche “practice makes perfect” is true. It applies the same in my academic life as well as in my athletic life. To be specific, the sport I play is soccer. I discovered my passion since I was six. Soccer is my escape and my motivation at the same time. It's my escape when I’m having problems at school, like being stressed out for projects, or at home, having family problems. For example i’ll be having an argument with my mom and I get frustrated so I just grab a ball and go outside to relax.…

Argumentative Essay: Is Tennis A Sport?

When you’re on that court, your only goal is to win the match, and walk away a winner. So whether you’re playing tennis with a friend, after work or school, or as a professional player like Serena Williams, and Rafael Nadal you need to be focused. It is more complicated than hitting a neon green ball over a net, or swinging a cool looking racket around on a court. My argument against tennis as a sport, stems from the physical demands it requires. I feel like all the running back and forth on a court, can lead to joint problems in the future.…

Biopsychosocial Tennis Research Paper

Tennis sisters and super stars, Venus and Serena Williams, like to remind people that tennis is as much of a sport for women as it is for men (Cleveland Clinic, 2013). Brown (1983; as cited in Groppel & DiNubile, 2009) determined in an analysis strictly on females that tennis was an opportunity where females could gain achievement and improve self-esteem. Regarding age, tennis offers competition in age-groups ranging from the under eight division to the over 90 division, which is very rare in other sports. The many studies that have revealed physical, psychological, and social health benefits of tennis have shown the same well-rounded benefits for all ages, including old and elderly players. For example, on the social front, the interaction that is encouraged through tennis helps ward off loneliness in individuals, especially as they age and may have lost loved ones (Marks, 1998, Bailey & McLaren, 2005, Kolt, Driver & Giles, 2004; as cited in Marks, 2006). Most importantly, the large majority of people who take up the sport of tennis continue to play for their entire life making this activity an attractive sport to grow old with (Pluim, et al.,…
