No, to be eligible for our Master of Marketing, you need an Australian bachelor's degree or equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution. If you don't have this, but have at least five years of full-time work experience in marketing or a closely related field, you may be eligible for a pathway into the master's degree after having successfully completed the graduate certificate.
No, you are not required to have a bachelor's degree in marketing or business. To be eligible for the program, you can have a bachelor's degree in any discipline. Note that if you’ve completed a bachelor's degree in a cognate (ie, related) discipline within the past 10 years, you may be eligible to reduce the number of courses you need to complete from 16 courses to 12 courses.
A completed bachelor's degree is usually required for you to be eligible for the masters degree directly. This is because you receive a testamur once you have officially graduated, which is used in the application process. However, you may be able to apply using a Letter of Completion, which is equivalent to testamur.

Mr Paul Huynh
Head of people, performance and culture, asia-pacific, director of people, performance and culture, vietnam and cambodia, kpmg.
Initially, I didn’t really anticipate the value the master’s degree would bring. For sure, it has allowed me to bring different things into my role. Previously, I was never really strong at budgeting and financial planning. By far the biggest benefit has been the networks that the whole experience created. It has led to lifelong friendships and continued to help me in terms of recruiting talent and referrals.
Mr Tran Duy Quang
Svp, rm team lead, wholesale banking, hsbc.
Many of my classmates were working at a senior level in the corporate world, so it enhanced my network. Since I was working at a bank, it really supported my business relationships as well. A masters degree is something you only do once, so you should pick a quality one to go into. Then, by joining the program, you will enhance your business relationships and career development.
Ms Tran Thi Thanh Mai
I learnt a lot from my classmates in the MBA at RMIT. They were all very experienced and held senior positions in local and international organisations. The program helped me to connect theories to real-life case studies for working smarter with a higher yield.
Dr Tran Huu Minh
Visa – vice-president for asia pacific partner services marketing, visa corporation.
In this increasingly competitive digital world, the smallest edge can mean the difference between success and failure. The master’s degree has made me the leader I am today. I honestly believe it has been key to a great number of my career successes. What made my experience at RMIT unique was the network of students. My experience yielded exposure to students from many countries. What I learnt from them was invaluable.
Ms Pham Thu Trang
Automation marketing, aia.
It has been a long time since I graduated from the MBA program, and some skills and knowledge have faded gradually, but the lessons about attitude, mindset and confidence remain valuable and impactful to this day. I had classmates who were managers, directors and founders, and I learned to put myself in their shoes. With this new attitude, I was motivated to finish each task with the best possible results and initiate ideas that were impactful for business.

Mr Pham Xuan Kien
Marketing director (nhaf).
Globalisation has made Vietnam a more open country. With numerous international firms entering Vietnam, I saw a need to study a master’s degree in international business. In class, I made good friends and developed my network. At a master’s level, there’s a difference when it comes to working as part of a team. I really enjoyed working with my teammates. We were able to solve real-life case studies
Ms Ho Thanh Thuy
Managing director, phat thanh coffee.
My hope is to one day bring our roasted coffee to the international market, I feel grateful for the knowledge I received exactly at the time when I needed to build Phat Thanh Coffee in HCMC. I learned a lot about global business, sustainable development and logistics. It was all practical knowledge that could be applied right away. I particularly remember the study tour in Singapore. We visited companies, observed and reflected on what we learned.
Thanks to the time studying at RMIT, I’m now more confident with my equipped knowledge as well as my enhanced English skills when approaching international customers.
Vu Binh Minh
Journalist for the career group at tuoi tre newspaper.
The biggest impact I found was the transformation in one’s perception and mindset, RMIT provides you with all that you need to learn effectively. The question is whether you can utilise all the advantages available. Lecturers at the postgraduate level are more demanding. To get good grades, we must proactively extend our knowledge, practice critical thinking and change our actions towards perceived problems. These are the skills that I later transferred to my daily job.
Ms Nguyen Phuong Dung
One of the most valuable insights that I gained in the Master of International Business program was learning how to manage cross-functions and lead teams that have highly diversified backgrounds. My classmates came from very different countries, industries and functions. We all had different points of view.

Professional recognition and accreditation
Course accreditation or membership offered by professional bodies signals to employers the quality and relevance of RMIT's courses and opens up career pathways and networks.
Professional bodies accredit or recognise courses as meeting professional and academic standards deemed to be essential for a new graduate entering into that profession. An accredited course will either enable the graduate to enter directly into a professional qualifications program or provide the graduate with exemptions or credit towards a post university professional qualification.
Statutory accreditation
This type of accreditation is where a statutory body must approve a course of study in order for a graduate to practise in that profession.
Professional bodies or associations are representative organisations of professions that provide membership and other career development support to its members. Many professional bodies offer membership opportunities for students and new graduates with benefits such as career advice, networking within the profession and access to resources not available through the university. The aim of these benefits is to assist with your transition from university into the profession.
